They sat us at 9:30, warning us that they close at 10:30 (yet sat 2 couples after us). Just don't start off with warnings; info, yes. We got sat in a lightness space with no candle. Sigh. We have cell phone lights. The menu looked good. The servers were unhelpful in making choices, when being asked if they could add a protein to a pasta dish. Please go ask the chef; I'm sure it was possible! Having just got in from a long flight, fine, just give me the pappadelle. When the food came, our hopes had dwindled from tired service. However, each plate was on point! The pasta dish was on point! The salad was good. The other soup thing was good. With the food, the owner (?) came to redeem the service by bringing a candle for the table, asking about our meal, entertaining us--patiently, with dessert options. I'd do this again. read more

Just made my second visit to this hidden gem. My friend who recommended it is a born and raised Italian, so it had a lot to live up to. The space is warm and welcoming. They have regular seating as well as high top bar and table seating. The food is absolutely delicious. I was excited to find out the chef is Roberto Passon as I used to go to his namesake restaurant in Hells Kitchen. Highly recommend the Tagliatelle Bolognese, pizza (we tried a few), and the Mussels. Oh...and the BREAD! A great range of both white (I love a Gavi) and red wine. I also loved seeing a familiar face. Umberto used to work at that mentioned restaurant. He made both experiences great. Him and Keme gave great recommendations for both food and beverages. They made my friend's birthday memorable. I highly recommend for anyone to visit - family, friends or on a date - it will not disappoint. Excited to come back MANY more times! read more

Came in during the snow storm, so it wasn't busy at all. Nonetheless, really welcoming workers. Love all of the design choices from the wood slate menus to the ladder wine wall. Such a cozy ambiance. Pizza was heavy-leaning salty, but I didn't too mind. Had to ask for a basket of bread as well but not sure why that doesn't automatically come out. Easily stayed about 2-hours and didn't feel rushed out. read more

Came on a Wed night. Busy but not crowded. I was able to get a table for 1. Ambiance is cozy and dimly lit but there's also outdoor seating which is nice. Ordered the steak which comes with fries and a small salad. A good deal if you're the type that needs sides for your meal. I was in the mood for steak but as it is an italian spot you should probably come here to try the pasta (which I will probably do next time). Tiramisu is good. Staff is nice and fast. read more

Catastrophic dining experience--this review is written to accurately document what occurred and to put the restaurant on notice regarding serious food safety failures. I dined at Terra with my husband expecting a simple neighborhood meal. From the outset, the service was dismissive and unprofessional. However, the far more serious issue was the staff's repeated misrepresentation of allergen information, which directly resulted in a significant medical reaction. I have eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE) and multiple documented food allergies. I clearly communicated this to our server at the beginning of the ordering process and asked detailed questions to ensure my safety. Specifically, I inquired about the soup special and was told it was vegetarian and dairy-free (with shrimp as an optional addition). I confirmed multiple times--with both the waitress and another staff member--that the soup contained no dairy, butter, or milk. Relying on these explicit assurances, I consumed the soup. Within minutes, I began experiencing an inflammatory reaction. When we immediately escalated the issue to the manager and again asked whether the soup contained dairy, she went to the kitchen and returned to confirm that it did, in fact, contain dairy. Instead of taking accountability, apologizing, or showing concern for a serious health risk, the staff became defensive and argumentative, attempting to deny or reframe prior statements. This response was unacceptable and deeply concerning. Restaurants have a duty of care when providing allergen information, and inaccurate disclosures can have severe medical and legal consequences. As a result of this incident, I required medication to prevent escalation to an anaphylactic response. I then endured approximately three hours of vomiting and severe gastrointestinal distress. Due to my condition, this immune response may persist for up to two weeks. I am currently experiencing ongoing symptoms including migraine and significant abdominal pain. In nearly 50 years of dining in New York City, this was the worst and most dangerous restaurant experience I have ever had. I strongly advise anyone with food allergies or dietary restrictions to avoid this establishment. The lack of accurate allergen communication, combined with the staff's response to a medical incident, represents a serious risk to public health and safety. read more

Yesterday, me and the homie came here fresh out of an immersive experience called "Destination Cosmos" that really just turned out to be a 45-minute NASA propaganda piece. Wouldn't recommend, but Terra was there to ease the pain of our shared trauma. We sat outside and shared a bottle of Chianti (obviously) and the Rosemary Parmesan Fries. Nothing quite like a good fries and wine combo, it's just so dynamic. Jamal Murray and Jokic-esque. They serve water in a former Bulleit Bourbon Whiskey bottle and I couldn't have been more impressed with a seemingly innocuous detail. I don't know. Good glassware gets me, it's the little things. When I lived in Tribeca, I frequented Terra often as it is a tasteful ambiance without being over the top. It really feels to me like an Italian Tapas place, and what more could you ask for in this life? It is also reasonably priced. The words "reasonably priced" and "Tribeca" rarely go hand in hand, so thank you Terra. read more

Tucked away in a quieter part of the neighborhood, it's perfect whether you're grabbing a table, sitting at the bar, or hanging outside -- the vibe is always great. Well, it's a good thing the waitress (no maître d here) refused to seat a single person for a drink and light dinner. Instead you will find oversized family groups as the staff drag tables around to accommodate children climbing on top of tables indoors and outdoors with no one in sight to reset table settings that were touched (Ew...) Immediately asked upon entering if I would be ordering a full course dinner, which I earnestly responded to and was then denied seating. Very clear this place looks at customers as wallets rather than providing an enjoyable experience. We approach the hostess and she just rudely says to us "you're late." Then proceeds to tell us that we can no longer have a table, just the bar area. Then when we were trying to order every staff member continued to ignore us until we finally got someone to come over after multiple tries. The design was a mix of modern and contemporary; overall, it was nice. The service: was a bit slow.
