Wowza, the ambiance here is spectacular. Offering outdoor patio seating, Zizou is THE SPOT for date night, gals and pals catch ups, and all things right. Specializing in Moroccan cuisine, there's so many standout dishes to choose from. I loved the refreshing Moroccan salad, steamed mussels, and steak fritas. There are a huge portion of mussels and fritas though. Pro-tip: dip the fritas in the mussels soup when you get to the bottom. It's impeccable. The staff here are superb and checked on my group frequently. If you're looking for lossless and funk music with excellent eats, this place is perfect.

Always love visiting Boris and Maati at this hidden oasis when I find myself in the neighborhood. Named for the legendary French soccer player and coach Zinedine Zidane, Zizou is a French-Moroccan restaurant featuring a lovely patio and delicious taboulé, steak frites, tajine, and well curated French wines. With France & Spain both favoured to win with Morocco's strong underdog performances in both the 2022 World Cup and 2024 Olympics, expect Zizou to be a FIFA World Cup hot spot this month.

Such an intimate vibe; lots of young people, relaxed and upscale feel, very diverse menu and good for meat / seafood, some vegetarian / vegan options. Loved the portion sizes and service was great! Fairly dark interior at night and red lights everywhere if you're sensitive to that - would definitely come back. Great for special occasions or sexy evening cocktails

Super unique place! I really enjoyed the ambiance. This is a true hidden gem in all aspects of the phrase. You would totally miss it driving down the street. The minute you walk in, you are hit with these red lights and loud, funky psychedelic music. It's a VIBE. I love how it's an indoor/outdoor space and very dimly lit. It's cozy and intimate. I saw some larger groups dining together as well as lots of couples. We came for date night and it was a total experience. The menu is a little on the small side, but they have a great wine list! If you loved chilled reds, you'll be a happy camper. They only have wine and beer. We had the mussels with fries, braise short rib and couscous for dinner. Plenty of food for two. We were actually full after the mussels and short rib, even though the short rib only came with three pieces. The meat just fell apart! Delicious. All of the flavors were amazing and authentic to Moroccan cuisine. Service was great, but a little slow at times. I think it's a smaller operation they run here. We also went on a Sunday night, and it was pretty chill. The inside was empty but the patio was filled! Would totally recommend if you are looking for a little flavor adventure and vibey night out.

Such a nice hidden gem! Feels like a different world when you enter! Be sure to make reservations! They have a nice outdoor seating area. Bar is also super cute. Friendly staff! Fast service! Will be back!!

Came here on a Saturday night around 9pm. This little hidden place was super cool. On the outside, I was thinking "where are we??", but when we got inside, it was a cute and intimate Moroccan vibe restaurant. When you first enter, there's a bar to your left and you pass through there to get to the main dining area. It was an outdoor eating area with cute trees and casual ambience. Dimly lit, with red lighting, cool music, and a little dance floor to get your groove on. Things I didn't like: - bathroom was dark asf, couldn't see, there was only red lighting -only serves beer and wine -owner was our server, who was kinda grumpy the whole time because we had a large party and had to cancel and get a smaller table However, food was reasonable priced and delicious! Must try the calamari, short ribs, and steak and fries.

    Butterflied branzino & Lamb Shank

This is by far my most favorite restaurant. Went here for a date night with my boyfriend, and the food was amazing! If you go you must order the lamb shank and the branzino. Wow the dishes were to die for. The staff was extremely nice and friendly as well. I wish I could give this restaurant 10 stars I love love love. Also it's on a rooftop which is very nice. The whole restaurant itself is also very calm not noisy. And it's sitting on top of a beautiful hotel. Highly recommend.

5++ stars for ambience. Like the vibe is just too good. 3.5-4 stars for food tbh, but the vibe is so good I literally don't care. The food is good though. It's not mind blowing or anything, to be sure. But would I come back again and again to split a steak frites to with my friend to nosh on while we yap over a bottle of wine or two? For sureeee. Steak frites was a solid 4 from me. Would probably pass on the spinach puffs and the Morrocan salad appetizers we got, though. I saw some negative food reviews that had me hesitant, and I totally hear them. It's just such a stunning atmosphere and the food LOOKS so good with such an interesting fusion of cultures--expectations are high. Especially here in LA. But if you go in with reasonable expectations to enjoy the atmosphere, Zizou is still hits the mark in my opinion. We got one of the French orange wines and it was DELISH. they have an orange wine from Chile too, which I thought was interesting. Server was a lovely gal. Also parking is street parking so just be aware!

I really enjoyed the vibes and aesthetics of Zizou! When you walk in it feels like you stepped into a Moroccan open patio oasis with French rap blasting in the background. They only serve wine and beer right now, but their spritz was super refreshing. Food wise is somewhat small yet had something for everyone. I really enjoyed their tabouleh francais, sautéed veggies on toast and their ribeye with their peppercorn sauce. It tasted homey and were good portions to share.

Came for brunch. It seems that it would be best to get here for dinner . I asked for the steak and fries, but it is 11:45 and we didn't know we couldn't order lunch . The Brunch selection is very small, not a lot of options. The ambience is great . So it seems if you visit early, it's just for a small hang out and not a celebration until dinner time . Food was different. It took a while to get our food though , even though the restaurant did not seem busy. We got here at 11:10 and didn't get our food until 12:26pm . I would want to come back and try their lunch/dinner menu. Maybe next time it will be a better experience here.

Zizou is a labour of hard work, dedication and love, to be exact 4 years of craftmanship. Owners converted an empty space to a foodies' paradise. Whether you dine inside which offers a cozy atmosphere or outside surrounded by palms and sweet and delicious dragon fruits, you will not be disappointed. We ordered the steak and frites, which the steak is so buttery and melts in your mouth. The mussels were perfect and the broth so savory. You have to try the spinach puff pastry which must be accompany by a glass of wine. The service: first, we did not make reservations but they were able to accommodate us. Most tables were reserved. Tip: make reservations. Second, we felt like royalty, the server and one of the owners kept checking on us. This made our time at Zizou very special. Check it out and cheers, Barbara

    Is this place kid friendly?

Kids definitely can join but it is dark and close quarters and fancier food options, so I'd suggest for a date night rather than family dinner!

    Are reservations required?

No! Lots of seating, indoor tables, outside patio and bar

    Can they accommodate vegan?

    Yes

    Is this place dog friendly?

Well, they have a lovely and large patio so I think so. But call to be sure.

The Little Door is known for their gorgeous outdoor seating under twinkly lights but be aware you cannot garuntee a spot there - only request. We had reservations on a Sunday night and they were fairly busy around 7pm. We were taken to the back seating area which is indoor. I appreciate that they have the option of a personalized dinner menu which is what my partner got for me, and they even bring you a large envelope so you can take the menu home. It took us some time to be greeted by our waitress. I felt the service was lacking. She was nice, but I felt like we were often forgotten. For our drinks I had a cucumber gin martini and my partner had the Casanova. Both were delicious! For our appetizer, we ordered the Piri-Piri shrimp. It was 4 pieces of shrimp lined up with small circles of flatbread in between each piece, seated on top of a smoky and flavorful sauce. We both loved it! For our main meal we ordered the couscous "Royale," fresh Papardelle pasta, and roasted carrots. The couscous came with one lamp chop, stewed lamb, merguez, and chicken - with a side of sliced almonds and dried apricot for topping, extra lamb stew sauce, and the most incredible harissa. I absolutely loved this dish, it was so flavorful. The pasta was a solid dish as well, and the roasted carrots were also fantastic. For dessert, we ordered the lava cake and I had Moroccan mint tea. The lava cake was well balanced with flavor and not overly sweet. The tea was fragrant, sweet, and the best way to end the meal. Overall I had a nice first experience at The Little Door. I don't think there's much left on the menu that I would want to try. I would love if they added more Moroccan-inspired dishes to the menu to make them stand out! But I feel like I would still come back, and I recommend it as a place for date night or to celebrate a birthday.

The kind of burger that requires both hands, several napkins, and temporary silence. * The fries were excellent, but the real plot twist was the curry ketchup. I had never tasted anything quite like it before. Sweet, savory, slightly spiced--and dangerously easy to keep eating. * We also tried the pork sandwich, topped with egg yolk. Rich, layered, messy in the correct way, and full of flavor. * The cocktails were also very well made--interesting without feeling like a science experiment served in glassware. * The menu changes frequently, so every visit feels a little different. You might see Japanese and French influences, then suddenly something inspired by Chinese dishes like Peking duck. The chef clearly enjoys traveling without leaving the kitchen. * ‍ Most importantly, you can feel the attention in the small details. Nothing seems random, even when the combinations sound unusual.
