My wife and I came for dinner before a concert at the Pompano Beach Amphitheater. It was our first time at Zuccarelli. First off - when they ask you if you want "garlic rolls," say "YES!" We were initially trying not to overeat, so declined. Big mistake. After seeing (and smelling) them, we asked for one to share. (Which was one of the hardest things I've ever done - sharing it.) Let's just say that this is what garlic bread should always be - with a big emphasis on the "garlic." For dinner my wife had Eggplant Parmesan and I had the veal. Both were excellent. Not too heavy, just the right amount of sauce and cheese. And speaking of the sauce, really good and NOT sweet (big plus!). Then, having given up on the whole not overeating thing, we shared a cannoli for desert. Not sure if they make them in-house or get them from somewhere else, but it was as good as any I've ever had in Little Italy in NYC. Zuccarelli is a real, honest-to-goodness, family-run, neighborhood Italian restaurant that serves excellent food at great prices - and with outstanding service. (Speaking of which, our server, Michelle, was a delight - as was everyone else in the place.) We live way down in south Broward - but despite the drive, we will be back. read more

This spot is family owned and operated pure perfection ! From the moment I walked in I could tell this place takes pride in their guest the service they give & their food ! When I first found this place l went 3 times in one week ! I try to find an excuse to go once a week now . I order the margarita pizza and shrimp linguine! Alfredo sauce is fresh, the shrimp are like colossal shrimp very big size. The garlic rolls are fresh, pizza always fresh! On the margarita pizza they put fresh dollops of mozzarella on the pizza Food is consistent and never a miss ! The owner is very nice. He's very hands on and makes sure things are done right. He know all his customers literally and makes sure they enjoyed the food and service was done. Thank me late ! This place knows the value in creating a a great experience, customer service and how to build a rapport! The best thing is that it's all organic! Not just to build a sale ! We were just looking for pizza. A step above Dominoes, but not Flatbread with Truffles fancy. We stumbled upon this place, off US1 in a strip mall. First impression "it's probably ok, there are other people inside". Walked in and it was clean, busy, and comfortable. The place was bustling but we felt very welcomed. We were seated, and our waitress was a gem. We had the garlic rolls (1/2 plain for the kiddos). They are generous with the garlic. No vampires here. I have not had a good plate of mussels in 20+ years, so I went out on a limb. I risked everything. We are on vacation and I ordered a plate of mussels in an unknown restaurant. I knew I could have 48 hours with the Porcelain Princess in my future if things didn't go well, but I took the gamble AND WON!!! They were delicious!!! Only 2 'sleepers' in the platter. I'm old school. If they aren't open, they aren't getting eaten. (I'm a-ok! Not sick a bit!) We ordered a meat lover's pizza (half only cheese...) and it was fantastic. My 3 year old couldn't stop shoveling the sliced meatballs into his mouth. We only had one slice left over, and it was plain cheese. Then I had the cannoli. YUM! Good stuff. 4 people including booze + tip was under $50. I hadn't tried this place even though it's close by because it's just in one of those spots where nothing ever seems to stick around for very long. I noticed it had some good reviews so I gave it a try. Turns out they may have the best pizza in Pompano. The dough has fantastic flavor and texture. I wasn't expecting it to be so good and was pleasantly surprised. There were only about 12 tables in the restaurant but they were all full, a good sign that the rest of their menu is on point as well. I'll have to come in for dinner soon for to get my veal parm fix and see. This is definitely our new pizza spot though. The stuffed pizza here is sinfully good. My eyes actually roll in the back of my head with each bite! I've had the meat lover and the steak onion and mushroom and I might actually say the steak is better due to the mushrooms. I've also had regular pizza and their calzones. Calzone was the best I've had in a while and was gigantic. I literally ate it for lunch and dinner the following two days. Same goes for the stuffed pizza. I can't eat more than two slices. It also smells so delicious inside. I've never actually eaten inside. Always called in and carried out. On our last night in Florida, none of us wanted to cook so we ordered Zuccarelli's from a menu at our time share. I'm so very glad we did! We got a little bit of everything, from fettuccine Alfredo to pizza to salads and subs. The Alfredo was freshly made an authentic. The pizza is thin crust and perfectly done. The antipasto salad is terrific, lots of Italian meats and provolone. And a house made Italian dressing. The subs and chicken Parm were both outstanding. The garlic rolls (not bread) are a MUST! Update 4-2012 Sadly the pizza has gone downhill and now mostly matches the rest of the experience. Gave it a few more chances hoping it was just a fluke but after a few sub par pies I've simply given up on this place. Excellent pizza, horrible service. Damn shame as this could be a 4 star pizza joint which isn't easy. I almost gave up on this place twice. My first experience was when I had lasagna dinners delivered. They were extremely small (but the price wasn't) and were almost the worst Italian dinners I've ever had and that is saying a lot, I've been to Olive Garden. But before I write anyone off, I always give the pizza a chance just in case. So we ate in for dinner. First off the place was really messy. Empty tables with dishes on them that didn't get bussed or wiped down properly. Our waitress actually sat us at a dirty table and simply put down place settings without wiping it down. I was kinda shocked and asked if the table could be cleaned. She told me it didn't need it but was willing to do it any way and then of course she put the same place settings down. I was not impressed. If you want a refill, a plate to eat your garlic rolls, a clean fork, some Parmesan cheese or anything like that, DO NOT wait for the waitress and attempt to get her attention and ask her. We made that mistake for several minutes, finally I said the hell with it and it became a self serve restaurant. The two waitresses are far more interested in their personal conversation than in anything you want or need. Amazingly she actually brought us the pizza,.saving me from having to go get it for myself and it really was excellent. The only downside of the meal was the Coke is either not really Coke or it's incredibly flat, both of which are unacceptable to me as a Coke makes the meal and I try to frequent only establishments with Coke products. We have dined in only one time since, just to give it a chance and we got the "other" waitress and while she seemed nicer than the first, she also really couldn't give a damn about doing her job competently or correctly. It was mostly self serve night again. I stopped in for lunch one day and some guy was waiting tables who was competent, too bad he doesn't work nights. Since then we have gotten every pizza "to go" and simply brought it home, excellent pizza and the Coke is right. I haven't tried anything else on the menu after the lasagna, I don't understand how the pizza can be so good and the other meals can be so bad. Managers, if you are reading this, check your Coke and fire your waitresses. read more

This place is FIRE! We fed 8 people VERY well for $110. That's 5 giant teenagers and me and husband. Every dish was fabulous. Every meal includes soup and salad. The garlic rolls are unparalleled.
