Delicious coffee and food. Great place to hangout on the water and have wifi. Only thing is the Owner is big on only speaking with locals so she isn't very polite or welcoming to new locals! Literally offered everyone around the place a free cookie except for myself even after she saw me speaking to several influential people in town. Otherwise if you don't plan on staying in Seward very long check out Zudy's it's worthy of a try. read more

We recently stayed in Seward for a week and absolutely adored Zudy's. The prices were very reasonable compared to other restaurants in town and the desserts were amazing! The almond joy cheesecake was our favorite. The owner walked out and talked to us every morning and was so sweet! We can't wait to go back next summer and eat here again. read more

Food came out fast but it was cold. Eggs were overcooked and cold. And sausage was just a microwaved sausage patty. French toast was cold and tasted like it was heated up from day before. Very RUDE and slow service. Food is OVERPRICED but tastes pretty good. Waited 40 minutes for 2 sandwiches. Spent $40 on 2 sandwiches and a slice of cheesecake. the server said she was too busy to even sell us a cup of coffee. The historic and scenic location is wonderful and the interior is beautifully decorated. From my initial impression I expected something special, what I got was just OK. I ordered a roast beef sandwich with lettuce, sprouts and onions on a "fresh" italian roll and that is almost what I got...no condiments like mayo or mustard came on the sandwich so it was very dry and it was actually served on a store bought roll. Blue chips are served around the sandwich, with no dip so also dry. I was provided mustard on request but a little hummus would have gone nicely with the chips, just a suggestion. The desert case had some delicious looking options so will return to try those out. read more

Us Seward Locals Love Zudy's Cafe. Just went in for some sandwiches and they were super good. The bread for the sandwiches was better than I remembered from past visits, They started using a really good soft roll. The Caprese was my favorite. The "xtratuff" (Turkey) was really good too. I think where they really shine is the desserts though. I came in when they were closing so they threw in some pastries that where fabulous. Cant beat the location either. read more

We ate breakfast here a couple times. It the pastries were good. We had one of their breakfast combos, which was decent. Nice atmosphere to sit and relax. Average coffee and some hits and misses on food. Soup lacked salt and flavor in general. Salad was good. Panini could have been cooked longer, but flavor was great. Prices seem a bit high, but the cheesecake is OH SO worth it. Husband got some pesto sandwich. It was good, but not sure I'd say it was $10 good. I had the turtle cheesecake. I am not a cheesecake person, but decided to try it because a local recommended the cheesecake (and the local also mentioned Zudy makes the desserts for several of the local establishments). I tried the Turtle Cheesecake. WOW! Best cheesecake by far that I have ever eaten. I only wish they had Key Lime Pie when I was there. I don't know if I would have gotten it, but some other lady came in while we were there looking for the Key Lime Pie cheesecake, deliberated what to do for a few minutes, and left empty handed. It must be good! Has a great view of the water. The waters made my soul feel at home. read more

Stopped here for breakfast. Great location and great food. My son said the breakfast sandwich was incredible and loved the sauce that came on it. The pecan bacon waffle was good and the oatmeal was tasty. One of the best lattes I've had. Enjoy the view of the bay while you have delicious food. Staff is very friendly as well. read more

My cousins and I went to Seward from Anchorage just for the day. We asked a lady downtown where we could get a great moderately priced lunch. She recommended Zudy's. Boy, was she ever right. We had Hammy Grammy sandwiches that were to die for. The lady who recommended Zudy's told us the desserts were excellent, so we each had key lime pie. Great key lime pie--probably the best we have ever tasted. It was so good that we split a piece of wedding cake--also incredibly delicious. The location is wonderful, the decor is old train station style with wood wainscoting and beams and lots of fresh paint, and the atmosphere is intimate. Zudy, the owner, is absolutely delightful and loves to visit with diners. Don't miss this great eating spot. You feel like family when you're there. read more

The sandwich I got here was one of the top 3 best sandwiches I've ever had. It was the Tula panini, with Havarti, red onion, pesto, sun dried tomato, and spinach. Such an amazing flavor combination! My group and I ordered the halibut sandwich which comes with homemade chips and tartar sauce. Not normally a fan of tartar sauce my tastebuds made a delightful new discovery in the homemade concoction at this café. We were also offered a sample of the Manhattan clam chowder wherein one of my dining companions promptly ordered a cup. I finally gave in to the subtle enticement of the dessert display and ordered the chocolate espresso cheesecake completing my dining experience. Planning on returning for breakfast! read more
