It is also a fantastic spot to work if you wanna have a café setting because their pastries and bake goods are absolutely fantastic. In fact last year for Christmas, we bought one of their Christmas cake options which proved to be super popular with the family. What I love about this location is the decor. On one side it is a simple industrial warehouse. But it has that post modern feel with all of the live plants. The live plants is what I love and the tall ceiling for the plants to fully grow. Though if they are looking for something else, which could really bring this to the top, it would be to have a fish tank. A fish and or water feature around the massive plant island in the middle of the dinning area would be chefs kiss. Of course, what about the food? From here, I find the food here is excellent. Sometimes the flavour combinations are a little weird. But that's typical for the Vancouver foodie scene. Vancouver food scene is a fusion hybrid of local ingredients mixed with traditions from cultures from other places around the world. But the bottom line is the portions are a good size. The platters in particular are large and would feed a very hungry person. You definitely get your moneys worth. You don't get much table service once you are done with your order. But that is all right because of it size and volume for the amount of people who come through. I am totally happy with the self serve station, which could be enhanced and the large setting with all of the very mature plants. If I would offer advice to anyone it would be this. If you are going to be there on the weekend arrive before 9 AM. People start lining up at 10 to 15 minutes before the store officially opens. Plus I find is easier to take the street parking rather than playing with Faith trying to back out with customers who are not paying attention.

We didn't mind a bit waiting for our specialty lattes but the flavors were underwhelming. Snow Velvet Latte $6.20 Double shot espresso, regular milk, vanilla syrup, velvet cream, cocoa dusting. My iced 16 ozs dark chocolate mocha was also not a memorable one. In spite of the unsatisfying lattes and lack of GF items, I'm still fond of the energy that fills in this cafe so I'll probably return.

I had opted for their french toast and was in awe and just how easy it was to slice through. Literally felt like a warm knife passing through butter. The music was lively but not overwhelming. The menu is surprisingly extensive for a café, featuring quiches, sandwiches, and other items made fresh to order. We kept it simple and ordered lattes along with two Danish pastries. Everything was delicious, especially the pastries topped with fresh fruit. The vintage paintings on the walls and soft French music create a warm, relaxing atmosphere. This is easily one of the best French bakeries I've visited.

That sounded so interesting. I didn't know Purple Yam Bread even existed. I wondered if it was typo, and whether they really meant that it was just regular bread with some purple yam sandwiched between the bread slices. After inquiring about it, I was informed that it was indeed a purple yam bread and that the color of the bread was purple. I had to satisfy my curiosity so I ended up ordering the Plant Power Club instead, along with a Strawberry Matcha Latte. That bright purple colour combined with all the colourful fillings of my sandwich...possibly the prettiest sandwich I've ever had. Very filling too. I ate both pieces and then I didn't have room for dinner later in the day. It was a tasty sandwich but not something I need to order again. Probably one of the largest coffee shops in town (comparable to La Foret in Burnaby, Jubilee location). Interior is nice and modern, with bare concrete floors and high ceilings. Staff are friendly and helpful. No complaints. Coffee is quite decent here. With that said, the one HUGE glaring flaw with this place is the washroom. Not sure if the women's side is also like this, but whoever designed the men's room needs to go back to architecture school. There are 2 stalls, and there is literally no room to get into either stall, as the architect didn't leave any room inside the stall to stand when the stall doors swing open (inwards). One almost has to step on the toilet seat to get inside. My friends and I definitely weren't happy. I also heard multiple other customers grumbling about the same issue as as they walked out of the washroom. Knock 1 star off the review. In fact, I'm tempted to knock 2 stars off. Yes, this is how bad the washroom soured the experience for me and my friends. If the owner is reading this, please please PLEASE fix this. This is actually enough to stop us from coming back.
