I dropped by here for a Peppermint Hot Chocolate back in December. They had some gorgeous looking desserts in their display case. Larger versions were available to for the Holiday season. My Peppermint Hot Chocolate was decent. Nothing to write home about. I think it could have been hotter. I've tried some desserts from this place before. I have a feeling if I'd ordered a dessert to go with my hot chocolate, I would have probably been more impressed with the dessert than the hot chocolate. For what they were offering, and compared with other fancy desserts in other places, I think the prices were pretty average. Average these days though tends to be on the pricey side I think, no matter where you go. I didn't feel like splurging on this particular night. Giving this place an "OK" rating since my hot chocolate was really just OK. If you're looking to splurge a bit though, based on my past experience...I'd recommend trying the desserts.

Élysées was solidly busy on a Sunday afternoon! I came by around 2:30pm and stayed until 4pm. I was thankful to get two seats for my friend and me. The mains being served smelled quite good in the air, but since I had a big lunch, I just ordered a ginger turmeric tea and a gluten-free tiramisu brownie. There weren't too many GF options but I did enjoy that brownie! My order for those two items totaled to a little less than $14. I found that pricey, especially since my drink was only a 12oz hot tea My take--I probably won't re-order my last order, but I'd like to come by again to try a main menu item and their coffee! :)

Charmingish location. The big fuss "architecture" is tucked behind some other business behind some closed storefront. Large of faux timber beams and columns, if you're into that sort of thing. Overall ambience is a mix bag. They have these gigantic garage door type of openings to the outside which on a day of desert vibes of summer heat, it didn't help. It was still unbearably hot. Not to mention gazillion flies noticed the goodies inside they swarmed in. Still this place was packed with all kinds of folks today; those on dates, foodies, construction workers and or tourists. Standing room only. We ordered couple of americanos both hot and iced and a hazelnut chocolate cookie. Coffees were made with excellence and the cookie was also fresh and delicious. Service is self-served type at the register yet asks for 18% min sort. Don't expect any type of service including wiping down dirty tables, or even bringing food to your table. Solid 3.5 stars.

What a delightful find! Elysees Cafe, nestled within the Alliance Française Vancouver on Cambie Street, is a beautiful, open space that clearly prioritizes creativity and innovation. Opened in 2024, it perfectly embodies what a modern cafe should be, offering a unique blend of handcrafted coffee and pastries with French and Mexican flavors, all presented with an artistic vision. I enjoyed a pleasant 20-minute walk from home to the cafe for lunch on a beautiful day. Arriving around 11:45 AM, the place was bustling! I weaved through busy patio tables to reach the counter inside. The staff, despite the lunch hour rush, were wonderfully efficient and friendly. I ordered a matcha latte with almond milk and their hearty Bowl de Provence--a delicious salad featuring farro, egg, and potato. I seemed to be in the mood for all things green that day! On my way out, I grabbed a croissant to-go, which made for a perfect snack during my walk home. While I can't speak to the parking situation firsthand, I did notice street parking available on Cambie, as well as potential free street parking in nearby residential areas (just be mindful of permit restrictions). I'm already looking forward to my next visit to explore more of their enticing food options and specialty coffees or teas!

Surprised ourselves with this place next to the French school! We came in on a windy, rainy day looking for some warm coffee and cakes. We ordered their lattes, and decided to also get their pumpkin cheesecake and fries! Their fries were oh-so-yummy and I would come back just for these!! The lattes were also very good. It was a chill place to spend an hour or two, though the parking was a little challenging due to the construction!

Cute cafe next to the French school. Lots of seating. Airy and big windows. I got the iced matcha latte and it was alright!

After our Yelp event at this place, I came back. I liked the vibe of the place. The staff was as friendly as the first time. Place is clean and organized. There were quite a few people. I found a seat at the comfy chairs, which I appreciated. I ordered my usual black coffee and loved the Cappuccino brownie. Nice presentation! It took care of my sugar fix for the day! Just the energy boost I needed. There's also free wifi, which is table steaks for me in this day and age. I also didn't realize free street parking is available just in front, except 3-6pm M-F as of this writing. They are also open late until 8pm. Overall, I recommend this place for having lots of food options, comfortable and clean seats, and relaxing ambiance!

I discovered this café through newly opened café news on social media. It's located near Oakridge Mall and has a very bright and open ambiance. The cozy atmosphere made me really enjoy the vibe of the café! I got the caramelized onion Gruyère Danish, and wow, it was absolutely delicious! The dough was perfectly crispy on the outside and wonderfully flaky. The filling, with caramelized onion and Gruyère cheese, was so addictive. It was amazing--I'll definitely get this one again! Next time, I'd love to try something from the drink menu and hopefully get a table. It was a very busy café and clearly a popular spot!

My friends and I had brunch here. It was our first time to try this cafe. The ambience was very nice and comfortable. The service was great. Staff here were friendly. Interior decor was exactly what a modern cafe should have. We all ordered coffee and food. We tried latte and flat white as well as the apricot danish, ham sandwiches and sun-dried tomato danish/croissant. All of them tasted great. I also purchased a loaf of sourdough. I wish the cafe could slice it for me. I had to do it at home instead. There is street parking right outside the cafe on Cambie Street but if it's full, there is some free street parking between west 42nd and 43rd. The residential areas require parking permit.

Ambiance: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Food: 4/5 After seeing a new cafe opened up on Cambie close to Oakridge I decided to check it out on a Sunday morning. The cafe opened at 10 and even though I was there by 10:05 there were quite a few people already there so clearly I wasn't the only one excited to try it! The space itself is beautiful with high ceilings and a decent amount of seating to enjoy your goodies. I was helped by a very sweet staff member right away which was great. I picked up a sourdough and chocolate peppermint cookie to go. The bread was still warm which was amazing and a great price at $6.50 which is hard to find in Vancouver! That being said, it didn't have the density and slight tang that I prefer in sourdoughs so it tasted more like a classic baguette in a boule form to me but it was still good! The cookie was delicious, thick and soft with a great chocolate flavour. I didn't try any of the drinks this time around but would come back to try them and other pastries!

Parking can be a bit tricky -- if you're lucky, you might find street parking right out front. With limited space inside, expect a line outside if there are more than a few people ahead of you. We ordered the Earl Grey Matcha, Earl Grey Flat White, and a Pastéis de Nata. The drinks took about five minutes to prepare, and the staff worked efficiently. Their menu seems to rotate seasonally, so you might find limited-time or specialty flavors depending on when you visit. As for the drinks, they were just okay in my opinion. The flat white was quite strong, and while it included Earl Grey syrup, the flavor didn't come through as clearly as expected. The Pastéis de Nata was decent -- not too sweet, but a bit dense. Overall, prices are reasonable for what you get. Worth a visit if you're curious about their seasonal offerings.

The way they do the frozen matcha is amazing. Truly epic.

Unfortunately, this one was a bit disappointing. The interior was overly moist, the caramelized crust lacked the crispness I was hoping for, and the honeycomb structure wasn't very well developed. Overall, it was just average. We also ordered the Strawberry Pistachio Tart. The strawberries were fresh with a nice balance of sweetness, and there was a good amount of pistachio chunks. However, it lacked the layers of flavor that make a tart memorable. On the bright side, the coffee was excellent and easily my favorite part of the visit. I'd happily come back for a coffee, but I'd probably try different pastries next time.
