Food was good, hot and served up quickly. The reason I am giving this a 2 star review was the service was subpar and the fact that the waiter did not charge correctly for what was ordered and/or the correct prices that show up on the menu. Pros: Good food served hot The mushroom cheeseburger, onion rings and patty melt were all very tasty and served hot. The boysenberry shake lacked in flavor but the banana shake was pretty good. Cons: Service Pricing/Menu discrepancies Bad coffee (cheap coffee and no cream, only non-dairy creamer) The service was bad. Other tables were brought waters and constantly had their coffee cups refilled. I was never asked if I wanted water, I had to wait ten minutes to receive a straw for my milkshake, and the waiter overall was just not friendly or personable. With pricing and the menu, there were two issues that I had. The first one was the fact that they charged $1.05 for pickles. The menu says that pickles are available upon request. It does not say pickles are available for an additional charge. Other places on the menu specify a charge or an increase in price (i.e. upgrading to a small milkshake with a meal). I asked about this when paying and the waiter pointed to the menu where it said Pickles available upon request. I asked him to show me where it says for an additional charge. He told me that whenever it says "available upon request" it means that it comes at an additional cost. I have never been to a restaurant where it said something was available upon request and then charged for it. I also have never been to a burger place that charged for pickles. I could see charging for extra pickles, but not pickles as a traditional condiment on a burger. The second issue is that the menu says you can add a shake to your meal instead of the soft drink for $1.75 extra. It clearly specifies that you will be charged extra for the upgrade, unlike with the pickles. I ordered a coffee before ever looking at the menu. On the bill, I was charged $0.90 for the coffee and the full price of $3.75 for the small milkshake. I asked why I was charged the full price for the milkshake and not the $1.75 that it says on the menu. The waiter rolled his eyes and said that it was cheaper for me then if he were to charge full price for the coffee and $1.75 for the milkshake. Some basic arithmetic would tell you that $2.10 + $1.75 is less than $0.90 + $3.75. Overall the food was good, the service sucked and I won't be going back unfortunately, because the food was really good. read more

Turns out yelpers were right on! Not much is open late in Martinez... So I had to try this place out. The Bacon cheeseburger was good, with that real, thick bacon that has become a rarity these days. I ate in, and while the service was good, I will get it to go from now on... Interesting... Crowd... This will definitely be a late night staple from now on! read more

This is a great place that is open 24 hours. We had a a couple bacon cheeseburgers, onion rings, chili cheese fries and the strawberry milkshake. Everything was really good. The cheese burgers were big, with lots of bacon and really good. While the chili cheese fries were good, I do prefer my chili to have more beans. The milkshake and the onion rings were both good. I'll definitely come back if I'm around the area while it is late. read more

My go-to burger joint! The chili cheese burger, open faced, or the bacon cheese burgers are great. Fries are good when fresh. Milk shakes are made the way they should be. I did have a couple of over-cooked burgers though. So remind them you don't want it well-done...unless you like it like that. read more

Great food, amazing service. Came here at 4am. Did a work lunch run and food was hot and ready by time of pick up. The staff was great to make sure nothing else was needed. This is the closest open 24hrs around our job and one of the best. Will def. be my go to place in middle of night when hungry for food at work. read more

if i could give less than one star I would. the waitress Kim is amazing and deserves a million stars the cook and food for is not the issue either my problem is with the owner who after gave me 5 milkshakes in only one drink tray with 3 of the lids not on so it spilled all over me and the other food that I had just spent over $70 on again accidents happen still not the issue the issue was when my boyfriend asked her if she could replace the three that spilled she made them and then he watched her spit in them. yes the owner. spit in them. he left them on the counter inside and left without them. not to mention she had an awful attitude from the beginning but that hardly even seems worth mentioning after what she did. for $70 that's the service you get from the owner SMH she's lucky kim still works there without her the whole place would have fallen apart as it is. Found this place because it was the closest only place open on the way home from the airport. Sat at the counter and watched the cook create our breakfast burritos like a master. The bacon was crispy perfect with the potato, cheese, and egg ratio just right. At 2am on a Sunday night the place was busy and we can totally see why. Delicious and simple at a good price. Holy - M - to the - Oly! These burgers are amazing! Not to be confused with the Clayton Road location... When I took my first bite of the classic 1950's looking burger, my taste buds were subdued by the most sensational explosion of flavors. The meat was perfectly cooked and melted in my mouth all while simultaneously releasing the juiciest after taste. One cannot simply describe this burger as anything less than a gift from Olympus. We just picked up lunch for the office i work at and i was EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED today. First off, I ordered the fish and chips meal and did not get a drink that it came with and i paid for. Second, the fish looked pathetic. SUPER greasy. I get it, fried food is greasy but when it's running down your arm...it's a little much. it was flimsy and didn't look appetizing at all and absolutely NO FLAVOR!. The way my food as well as my co-workers food, was packaged was sad. When i pulled the paper away from the fish the "crispy" layer stuck to the paper and it was ruined. a co-workers onion rings were burnt and over done. All around a bad experience. I'v have eaten here before and i was told it's was ok but since it's under new management...things seemed to have taken a turn for the worst. I'm sure there are good things on the menu, but this morning was not a time for them to be proud of.Disappointing. Nightmare. I have lived in Martinez for over fifteen years and I have seen this diner ( which was my favorite at one point ) decline to a degree that I will never BRAVE again. The new ownership has destroyed the quality of EVERYTHING. Last visit, they got our order so wrong it wasn't even funny and the fries weren't even cooked all the way. This visit, they also got our order completely wrong, the cheese fries had been forgotten in the microwave so long that the cheese was so hard it wasn't edible ( literally ), the sandwich bread was so stale it was hard and they were kind enough to give us a BUG IN OUR SAUCE. A very basic, but very good diner. Open all the time which is very handy. I've had breakfast and lunch multiple times, never had a bad meal, and drive well out of my way to eat here. Homemade chili and sausage gravy, and as others have noted, a great burger. The folks who work here are all great as well. One problem for which they lose a star: Their customers think that if their vehicle is big enough they can park anywhere, block the driveway and parking lot access, and generally be jerks. Watch out for the SUVs, monster pickups and BMWs who think they own everything. read more

I have lived in Martinez since 2009 and I always drove by this place but never stopped. I stopped today and ordered a Bacon Cheeseburger and Chilli cheese fries. Oh man it was fantastic! I got it to go and ate it all. Now I can barely move. Couldn't stop eating. I feel so stupid for not trying it out early. This will be my new go to place for quick food. Are you all eating at the same place?? What a joke!! We use to come here all the time and got amazing service from Barbara and Collette. My father in law (who is 75 by the way) always drank decaf coffee. The girls gladly made him a pot no matter what time it was. Then we come one night and the "new waitress" handed him an instant decaf packet. Are you joking??? When he asked for brewed she said "im not making a pot for one person" woooow" ok so we go on strike and do not return for a year or so. We come in a week ago and it was even worse which is hard to believe. We were the only table. The server stood at our table and stared at us until we were ready to order. Mind you my father in law is deaf and can't read the small print so this took some time to relay the menu to him. So he asked for decaf...well wouldn't you know the server huffs and puffs and complains shed have to make a pot. Uhm...so what were paying. Then she takes our order without writing it down. Asking me if I wanted french fries or onion rings with my chicken sandwich meal. I say fries. Sooo whats she do?? So goesclear across the restaurant and screams our order back to write it down. Ok...food comes I get no fries. No big really I just wait patiently til she comes back. No such luck she goes in the back and doesn't come out til were done. I explain I didnt get my fries and its ok just please charge for the sandwich itself not as a meal. Holy hell she had the nerve to say "I didnt hear you say fries" and says she will make them. Were done eating and nicely I said no its ok. She kept trying to make them and says again she didnt know I wanted fries even tho she asked me fries or rings. When we get the bill she has the nerve to say "I didn't charge you for the fries this time not in a im sorry for the mix up but with an attitude like she was doing me a favor. I am a waitress. Mistakes happen but my gosh come on. And the kicker folks....our server was the owner. Never again. Maybe theres a reason we were the only table in the middle of the day no?? read more
