So disappointed with service and food. It used to be a good place to have Chinese food but it is not any longer.

I'm not from here and I was highly disappointed I wasn't greeted at the counter, idk if it was a racial thing or if they were tired idk I wasn't told about any specials or the menu so I just kept it safe and ordered shrimp fried rice. This is thee absolute nastiest Chinese food I've ever had in my entire life. Idk if I can even take it back because the disposition upon ordering was terrible. Someone else told me my order was ready because I sat in the car. It tasted like pure cardboard or paper. No flavoring, a complete waste of $11. I couldn't even eat it- it was that nasty from one bite. I love this restaurant. We have been dining here for years, and the service is always efficient, food is above quality, and the ambiance is comfortable. Normally, we get the Paw-Paw platter, which comes with these Teriyaki Beef, but we weren't hungry enough for it on this day. Our meal also came with Egg Drop Soup, and they have my favorite soup and crunchy wonton strips in town. Truly, I could eat a huge bowl of that and be satisfied. The combination plates were piping hot, and the sauce was delicious. The combination plate allows for a choice of 2 crab Rangoon or 1 egg roll. I love their crab rangoons. They are always crisp, hot, and well filled. I would highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for a nice dine-in Chinese experience in Holland, or wanting takeout. If I could I would give it a zero since being under new ownership the food that I ordered was the worse with the previous owners it's the same food I have always ordered shrimp fried rice and egg foo young Food was left on the counter until I guess he was the cook asked me what I ordered then he went too say this is your order the giri that was taking orders behind the counter and running around like a chicken with his head cutoff And although under new ownership I figured I would give them a try egg foo young terrible it looked like shit threw it in the garabage shrimp fried rice awful will never go there again It's going too make me have second thoughts about going too any new restaurant under new ownership The only good thing that came out of it was the food was still hot when I got home even traveling by bus read more

My son ordered General Tso Chicken medium spice and the meal was a brown gravy vice a sauce and was not spicy had little flavor. I ordered a sesame chicken. We were kinda hesitant when we pulled up and was walking in, but we are so glad that we stayed. Everything that we got was delicious! They brought out water and tea for us. Yes !! One of kind Chinese restaurant. *They welcome you with Free nice Chinese green tea and say goodbye with oranges and fortune cookie. *We ordered, fride rice and vegetable cashew beef . Everything tasted good. Specially the Fride rice. The beef was little salty and veggies but it was a good portion and very delicious. We've been going to China Inn for YEARS. They take dining in as seriously as the "to go" crowd. They'll triple check your order until they get it right. I spend a lot of time in the area and wanted to meet some friends for Chinese food. One of them had been here before and said it was really good, so my party of 6 decided to give it a try. First, I'm a little concerned because they didn't appear to be doing contact tracing, which was required by the State of Michigan at the time of my visit. Aside from that, we had a really nice time here. Complimentary hot tea came out right away. Our server was ready to take our order very quickly after we sat down.. we had to send him away a few times until we were ready. Most of the food came out quickly, although one person had a wait several minutes for their food while we were already eating. The timing of the order could have been a bit better. Even with all that, my cashew chicken was quite tasty and cooked how I wanted it. A nice little place tucked away.. but one I'll visit again. read more

I ordered carryout and got the almond chicken. Wasn't what I expected. Chicken was tough like leather with no seasoning. Filled with water chestnuts, yuck. My fault I didn't look at the menu when I ordered My wife got shrimp fried rice, it had peas, she hates peas. Wish all menu items had ingredients. This used to be my Fav Chinese spot in Holland, MI. But the last two times I got takeout food there were issues. I bought two meals, only got one small carton of white rice. Egg rolls were burnt to a crisp left in deep fryer way too long. I think the original owners retired and sold the business, it would also explain why everything on the menu now costs $1.75-$2.25 more than it used to. read more

Well... this used to be one of our favorite restaurants but now it is under new ownership and the food quality has gone down-hill. The sauces are tasteless. Used to be ginger and spice, and bok choy in the kung pao chicken --now it is some brown gravy and broccoli. What happened to crunchy yummy Chinese vegetables with spice? We have tried it 3 times since the new ownership and every time the kids complained and I was so disappointed to spend the money for sub-par food. I think the restaurant got a new ordering software and paid for it by cutting food costs and exchanging for lower quality products. Even the white rice was soggy and overcooked. How can you screw up rice? For the previous owners, I am so sad you left your legacy to people who don't know food quality. We won't be eating there again. read more

Did I go to the wrong place based on positive reviews? Prices are average for Chinese restaurants; defiantly not cheap! Start off with a bowl of mediocre wonton soup and dry spare ribs with no sauce. They were burnt and very dry. 2nd worst ever! You cant get as low as the Chinese restaurant in Leamington Canada. Crab rangoons get a B-. Check out my pictures! They dont even have decent sweet and sour sauce. I ordered dragon and phoenix. Seafood and chicken. It came with no chicken. Had to wait fot them to finish cleaning the kitchen to get chicken! Pork fried rice had big pieces of egg and pork. Wasnt bad but not what i expected. They have a large menu. Not many customers; in fact I am it. The shrimp were giant but you only got 3 plus 2 scallops and 2 miniscule crab pieces. One was an inch and the other was 2 inches. What a joke.! It was loaded with carrots, peppers and many little corns plus a few pieces of broccoli and mushrooms. Overall small portion. Found out the waiter messed up when i asked him the seafood in the dragon and phoenix. He gave me a different dish with just the seafood. The chicken was actually decent! All dark meat with a nice brown sauce. Spoke too soon. Many inedible pieces. Reminded me of chicken surprise when i went to Beijing many years ago. Update #2 - Well I got home with my takeout order just to find out they didn't give me exactly what I ordered. I asked for xtra veggies & xtra chicken in my S&S Chicken order & they charged more which I was ok with HOWEVER they didn't give me xtra chicken, only xtra veggies (or so I thought) with xtra damn cherries which is a fruit & I told them no pineapple etc just xtra pepper, onions & carrots - they didn't put any veggies in the box with the chicken like they usually do so basically I got NO XTRA VEGGIES OR CHICKEN because the quart box was still NOT FULL & now they put veggies in a tiny box which also WASN'T FULL where's the xtra ANYTHING??? So I called & the man said I was only charged an xtra $1 but I was actually screwed out of a $1 because I got nothing xtra!!! He also didn't offer to do anything about it - I'm seriously looking for another Chinese restaurant that actually gives you what you pay for & knows that it's not a quart size order when you don't fill it up to the top - very disappointing. I have never had a Chinese restaurant NOT try to OVERSTUFF their takeout boxes to where they can't shut them but instead have to staple them shut to keep them closed , this restaurant is making a killing on the portions they're serving for sure!!! read more
