I had a disturbing experience with a hard drive recovery request involving important music project files here. The agreement was that I would pay $300 if three specific files were successfully recovered. When I came in to inspect them, the first two appeared corrupted/unusable. I asked to check the third file and said I would still pay the full $300 if even that one file worked. The technician Henry refused to let me verify the third file. While it was already loading/opening on my computer, he unplugged the hard drive. After that, when he connected it to his own computer, the drive stopped showing up. He also accused me of trying to copy the files by inspecting them, checked my computer, and refused to immediately return my original hard drive, saying he needed to "fix" it and delete the recovered folder before he can return it to me. I called the police, but they said it would need to be handled as a civil matter because of the contract. I'm sharing this so others can be informed. In my experience, I was not allowed to fully inspect the recovered files before payment, the drive stopped mounting after it was unplugged by him forcefully during inspection, and I was not able to leave with my original hard drive afterward and was told with a smirk that he will try his best to get it done as soon as possible. I asked where that information would have been given upon purchase. My paper receipt had nothing about it and there was no sign on the wall. He produced a separate paper listing the restocking fee, which had not been shared with me when I purchased the items. He explained tersely that he is a small business and reiterated that he never accepts returns and I should be grateful he was making an exception. So -- be warned -- if you purchase supplies from this business, be aware that he "never accepts returns" and that if he decides to make an exception, he'll retain 25% of the payment. I have had my screen fixed before and it took 24 hours! To further my surprise it actually only ended up taking her about 30 minutes. I do not know what she did or how she did it, but the screen fixe has made my calls clearer and seems to have also made the phone function better. She was even able to tell me after she fixed it whether or not there was any water damage. Color me impressed, but you do not get great customer service like this today. Will definitely be back and recommending people to them!
