This place is all fluff and not really a quality eye care business at all. They completely ignore your own needs and experiences and come back at you with their pre-programed jargon to the point of it being comical. The doctor is a nice guy, but he doesn't really listen to the customers needs. Don't get me wrong, the staff is super nice, but it would be even better if they showed some compassion to resolve issues you were expressing to them in regards to your lenses, instead of giving some crappy responses. This was my second time here. I was debating going back to this place, so shame on me for being lazy and giving in. Never again! read more

This place is a little Eh for me. I think generally they have decent services. I've been a few times and typically left satisfied. But the last time I went I was having problems with my contacts. They were making my eyes bloodshot. I saw the doctor and he told me I had to get all sorts of specialized lenses now and it would cost a lot of money. He said my eyes were being hurt if I didn't do it. It didn't sound right and I wasn't buying it, I felt like he was making guesses. I went somewhere else that I liked better. Eventually the problem was solved by simply getting a better cleaning solution. read more

LOVE LOVE LOVE 10/10 Optics!!! (With one caveat, which I will explain at the end.) I went to 10/10 based on its proximity to my apartment and the excellent reviews here on Yelp. My initial visit there was FANTASTIC. I found a pair of unique frames which looked awesome (verified by their digital imaging technology), and I also got a pair of sunglasses. Caveat - when I went back to pick up my glasses they were horribly busy. I needed a small adjustment made but had to wait for 20-25 minutes before a technician was available. The adjustment only took 2 minutes. However, this does not dampen my enthusiasm given the awesomeness of my initial visit. Plus, during those 20-25 minutes I had a great chat with a cool couple who were trying on some cool specs. I hope one of those guys ended up getting the pair of FANTASTIC aviators. read more

Went to this place because of the reviews, but I should have read them more carefully. I could see this place being a great place to get glasses. However, I just needed an eye exam so that I could buy more contact lenses. You could tell that they were really trying to sell you glasses right away. I was told to sit down at the bar, where the sales associate went on and on about how you need glasses and blah blah blah. I told him I was perfectly happy with what I had, since I only wore them to bed. He kept saying "but wait, try these on, you might like these." It was clear he was just trying to get a sale, and really wasn't listening to what I was saying. Dr. Rosenberg was a nice guy, and definitely had a good conversation with him. However, the exam was not nearly complete, and the exam office is definitely inferior to any normal optometrist I've been to. No real testing besides just testing "can your read this." Then, he overcharged me because I told him I wasn't interested in buying lenses through him (had a great deal online, just need the prescription). read more

I randomly walked into this eyeglass store after hating 3 others that I had researched and tried first. It was my first pair of prescription glasses so I had no idea what I was looking for. The woman that assisted me at 10/10 optics took a lot of time with me and was extremely friendly. They had many pairs that were good options for my small face. THE BEST. I am very nearsighted, and have been wearing glasses for 50 years. Fitting me with glasses has been difficult and I have consistently been told I can only have round small glasses because of my prescription. Not great with my round face. Not any more!! Dr. R gave me an exam and a prescription, and Ruth and Jesus worked with me to give me stylish rectangular (!) glasses. When one pair of glasses didn't work out, they tried, and moved on to another w/o the recriminations I have had from other places, e.g., "it's because of your high prescription, what do you expect." Here, it's let's work w/you to get it right. I have now bought 3 pairs and just ordered a 4th pair of glasses in a year. If you are a hard to fit person such as I am, do yourself a favor and go to 26h street and Madison. I do, and I live in Northern Westchester, and come in all this way to go here. read more

Very friendly staff. Nice, knowledgeable and to the point optometrist. I was just there to check my Rx and nothing more. He didn't try to push new lenses on me or glasses. I was also able to walk in w/o a wait. The rest of the staff was very nice. They also have a digital camera that you can take pics or yourself in different frames to ponder which ones you like best. Annoying. They have good frames but I dislike the setup here. The shop is small and frames are kept behind the counter; you have to ask for each one. You ask, they hand you a frame, you try it on, they return it to the wall, then give you the next one. They also cover up the frame labeling from (at least some of) the glasses' temples. That's annoying. I'd be happy to buy my frames from them but I'd also like to develop some general understanding of e.g., what dimensions I need. I can't do that if they're withholding sizing and other information. Argh. Shopping for eyeglasses sucks. read more

I feel like I've struck glasses gold here. Having read enough good Yelp reviews to capture my attention, I went there on a Tuesday evening to have nose pads put on my plastic ray ban frames. When I walked in, an employee was very kind and courteous (I wish I remembered his name) and quickly filled out my order to be picked up the next day. I got a call the next day that they were ready and when I went back to pick them up, the same employee was there and he remembered me and immediately went to get my glasses when I walked in. When he returned with my glasses, he had me try them on to make sure they fit, and they were perfect. I can't express how magical and amazing it felt. As a nerdy Asian girl, I am forever plagued with bad eyesight and a low nose bridge that makes wearing most plastic frames impossible. I occasionally get lucky in finding plastic frames that work, but they're never as well-fitting as their metal counterparts, and I don't like the "Asian fit" options that many brands now carry, because they aren't interesting or fun, so getting nose pads put on frames that I really like means a ton to me. I also brought a pair of Ray ban sunglasses to get nose pads as well when I went to pick up my first pair (in the case that the glasses worked out) and since both pairs of glasses that I had brought in were orange, the friendly employee and I shared our love for orange, and he even commented on how great the glasses--now with nose pads--looked on my face (which was really nice to hear because the lady at another optics store where I purchased them was kind of judgmental about my choice. Rude). Several days later when I finally got around to picking up my 2nd pair, the same employee recognized me right away and smiled at me and went to get my sunglasses from the back. The sunglasses with nose pads put in also fit wonderfully--I really couldn't be happier with their work. The price is $48.99 for nose pads, and they are substantially built, almost as if the frames came that way in the first place. It's not cheap, but it is 100% worth the result. The store is neat and clean, and they aren't the typical trendy optics boutiques that pounce on you the second you walk in. They are really knowledgable and professional, and they are truly there to help and not judge. The customer service here is about as good as I've experienced in NYC. As I waited, there was another woman picking out frames and the other employees there seemed just as kind and courteous as what I experienced. Their selection of frames looked pretty great, especially their wooden frames. Even though the shop is a little bit out of my way, if I ever need another pair of glasses or any sort of adjustments, I will definitely go back to 10/10 Optics. read more

I just got a pair of Prada plastic eye glasses with high index lenses. This pair of frames kept sliding down my face and I felt that it was too close to my eyes (sometimes I felt my eyelashes hitting the lens). I think this is the fact that I have an "asian" face and most asian people have an anatomically small bridge compared to others. I have ready many posts on the internet about asian people avoiding plastic frames overall because of this fit issue. I did some research on the internet and I read that there are opticians that are able to install nose pads on plastic frames! I researched places and gathered some prices. The first place I called wanted 80 bucks for this service and I would need to drop off my eyeglasses for 1 whole week. I did not like this idea at all. I then called 10/10 optics on a Sunday afternoon. They said that they should be able to do it on site and it should cost around $40 - $60 dollars depending on the frame. I drove into the city (from NJ). I was greeted with a smile by a very nice gentleman. I gave him my eyeglasses, which I am practically blind without (L-11.50, R-8.50). He took a look at them and he brought it down to the "lab guy." He came back a few minutes later and said he could do it for $40.00. Great! i was all for it! I told him I definitely needed my eyeglasses to drive home and he said " no problem." The whole process took about 15 minutes and when I got it back and i put it on my face, WOW!!!! They are super comfortable and they did not slide at all anymore. The installation was super clean and they even shaved down the original nose pads. They did such a good job that you can't even tell where the original nose pads were. I am so satisfied with the service I had performed here. If you need nose pads for your plastic frames, don't look anywhere else! read more

This is the only place that I trust to adjust my glasses (meaning get them fitted or refitted when they're out of shape). I could have them adjusted at LensCrafters, but I've tried them twice for adjustments, and the first time they bent my glasses out of shape (worked but not the right way) and the second time they bent the decorative designer logo off. So, now I always come to 10/10 optics. The staff generally is very knowledgeable and skilled, particularly Jesus and the younger woman with long dark hair is always such a delight and so professional. 5/5. read more

I just got back from 10/10 Optics, a trip I made based solely on Yelp reviews. I was not disappointed! Good service is hard to come by in this city, but Alex was patient and laid back, and honest about how each pair fit my face. The optometrist, Dr. Rosenberg was kind, calm and informative. Even though it was a Sunday evening and they were about to close, I never felt rushed to leave, even when I mentioned that it was approaching closing time. The bottom line is that I was amazed with how normal everyone was there- never forceful, creepy or distracted. Once I had settled on two awesome pairs (one for business, one for pleasure), Alex offered me and my boyfriend a celebratory shot of delicious peach schnapps! After looking at pearle vision and lenscrafters for a pair of rx frames (and being disappointed by the ugly "versace" symbols), my mom had heard of this place on the north side of madison square park, We entered and i was skeptical at first but once the lady had us sit down, she just asked what color, i responded tortoise and instantly a dozen frames were at my hands that were all great. lady helping knew exactly what frames would look good with my facial structure and knew what style i was going for. I was torn between two frames and bought a pair of Bevel rx frames. got complimentary rush delivery and couldn't have been more satisfied with my time there. I've been going here for at least 5 years. Liz Santiago is my go to girl for frames. She is so good at knowing what will look good on my face. I can pick frames so fast with her because she doesn't waste my time showing me things that are not going to look great. Also if something does not work the customer service is above and beyond. You will not get stuck with a pair you don't like. They will always work with you to make sure you are happy. The optometrist Dr. Stephen Rozenberg is excellent. Just like the rest of the staff he is there to make sure everything is correct and comfortable with lenses, and frames. I'm going to talk to him now about contacts that actually correct your eyes for a day when you wear them overnight! I highly recommend going here for all you glasses/contact needs!! read more

I have bought frames there twice, paying over $500 a pair (just the frames). I got in touch with them and asked them if they could order me a pair so I could try them on to see if I liked them before I laid out over $500 for glasses that I didn't like or didn't fit. My answer was I would have to give a non-refundable deposit. Jesus, who works there, knew me and knew I was not just window shopping. I emailed him back explaining my situation and never even got a response. So I went to another eyeglasses store, asked them the same thing and their answer was yes, and I had never even been there before. They also told me the company didn't charge them for sending over frames to the U.S. for their customers to try on. 10/10 LOST ME AS A CUSTOMER. read more

They let you choose the ones that catch your eye but also give good suggestions and push you out of your comfort zone in a good way. They also have a digital camera and will take pictures of you in all of your frames so that you can compare them. This place is GREAT!! My first time there, I was just window shopping and I wanted to see what frames they carried. By the end of my visit I ended up walking out with new frames. I had no compliants about the customer service and the friendlyness of their employees. They found what I wasn't looking for and had me try on a bunch of frames till we got it right. Pros: great frame selection, very friendly staff. I've bought three frames from these people over the years, and they've always been super helpful and patient while I tried on dozens of pairs. And their camera technology is great -- you get to see what you actually look like in a pair of glasses, and can compare several images at once. Cons: the doctor tends to rush through the exams. She was ready for an updated prescription anyway, and I knew she wouldn't be able to see the shows we had planned. I called for an appointment, and they got us in the same day. First night in Manhattan from California and my glasses break, old frames I was too cheap to replace long before, and really odd double-vision problems. I've had the problems for 40 years, but Ruth was the FIRST person to point out that I needed frames that sat higher on my nose to make prescriptions work better! Ruth has wonderful taste, and helped me find frames that I think look great - first time that's happened in a long time, too. Dr. Rozenberg is charming and helpful. Ruth is the Fairy-Godmother of Frames. The entire staff were wonderful. I scheduled a consult and got an education to go with my new frames. She is like a great hairstylist who explains why bangs are a bad idea. The frames are so unique and fit perfectly. She was thoughtful and critical in the best way. Also, they did not try to up-sell. There were no gimmicks or haggling. They give you time to consider and compare between frames. No one rushes you out. The staff knew everybody that came in by name.
