The best Lychee Latern Martin in Chinatown. I strongly recommend you RSVP a lounge space for your birthday because this place will wow all your friends. On a side note, the garlic waffle truffle fries taste amazing.

Trying out new Dim Sum in Chinatown.

My friend suggested this new dim sum restaurant on East Broadway in Chinatown. I was excited because I never say no to dim sum. The restaurant is on the second floor. The decor is modern with a high-end ambient lighting and crystal (looking) chandelier. My poor friend took a bite into the har gow (shrimp dumpling) and immediately notice hair inside the dumpling. She flagged down the waiter and showed him immediately. He was apologetic and took the remainder har gow (4 in one order) away and said he will replace it. The replacement he brought us was cold. Before you ask, I wish I reacted quickly and took a picture. It happened so fast and I was in shock. Needless to say, we pretty much lost our appetite after that. We quickly finish up and ask for the check. They didn't offer to take the item off the check or have a manager come by our table to say something- anything! It was business as usual for them. The dishes we had before the "hair in dumplings" incident was average. The fried dough in the rice roll was over-fried. The chicken feet was okay, nothing memorable. Definitely NOT coming back again. I hope the health department pay a visit to their kitchen soon.

THE FOOD ---------------- + Dim Sum is solid here. Not the best in NYC Chinatown, but definitely holds its own. + Pork dumplings, shrimp dumplings, beef rice rolls, chicken feet, steamed spare ribs were all decent. + Shredded chicken pan fried noodle was SUPPPPER crispy and piping hot. Lots of sauce all over the noodle and enough chicken spread around. Sauce could have been a litttttle more flavorful though. + Crispy fried flounder with sauteed flounder and mixed vegetables was verrrrry good. Flounder was, as advertised, CRISPY. There was plenty of smooth and melt in your mouth sauteed flounder on top of the fried flounder. Pricey, but worth it! THE SERVICE ------------------- + Very efficient ticket system for seating. You get a ticket at the maitre d podium and wait for your number to be called to be seated. + Cart ladies were ALL very nice and friendly. + Waiters were EVERYWHERE and at the ready to bring you water, tea, utensils or kitchen entrees. THE SURROUNDINGS ------------------------------- + The restaurant is brand spankin' new and only opened a few weeks ago. Very glitzy inside with glass ceiling ornaments and shiny, gold reflective walls. + LOTS and LOTS of space and tables. It's a banquet hall that occupies 2 floors, with the 2nd floor dedicated to dim sum and Cantonese-style banquets. RANDOM OBSERVATIONS -------------------------------------- = Arrived at around 12 PM on a Saturday afternoon and, considering how busy it was, only waited 25 minutes for a table for 6 people. By the time we left at 2 PM, there was no wait at all for a table. = The waiting area was verrrry crowded, but there were lots of chairs for folks to sit on while waiting.

A brand new dim sum restaurant with rooftop views and reasonable prices? Why not check it out? In fact, I came here twice with family and once with friends already. The first time we came, we sat on the second floor with modern decor and high ceilings. Although the tables are on the cozier side, that's expected given its Manhattan location. The second time we came on Mother's Day to celebrate with family, we got a table on the third floor with rooftop views. Overall, the dim sum here is easily above average by NYC standards. What made this place more appealing is that the prices are quite reasonable (some options are below $5) given the quality and that it's brand new. I usually judge the quality of dim sum at a place through their shrimp cheong fun (rice rolls). Are the shrimps plump and evenly spread out underneath rice rolls that are fresh and not too doughy? Their version definitely passed my test. Other dim sum dishes that we enjoyed including roasted pork buns, beef short ribs, and chicken feet. They also offered some lunch specials including a lobster vermicelli that's served piping hot in a large metal bowl. The lobster pieces were quite plump and weren't heavily coated with batter, allowing the sweetness of the lobster to come through. The vermicelli was filled with the flavor it soaked from the bowl. The service was fairly attentive overall. One time we sat on the stage in the back. Yet, several of the dim sum carts still circulated our way. This is definitely a solid addition to this part of Chinatown, further expanding dim sum restaurant options in the neighborhood.

We celebrated a birthday at this restaurant which opened just a few weeks ago. We heard good things about it. Located on the edge of Chinatown, in Lower Manhattan, it was located on the second floor of a building that replaced a Mobil Station some years back. We took an elevator up. The restaurant is spacious, especially for this location. Sparkly and brightly lit. Known mostly for its dim sum service, we were here for dinner Sunday evening. The table setting was elegantly decorated. Mirrors and chandeliers adorned the dining room, overlooking Pike Street. Service was quick and attentive, but on that Sunday evening it was not busy. We had the set menu priced at $588. Instead of the first course sashimi, it was substituted, prepared cooked geoduck with vegetabkes and bean sprouts. The braised young pigeon, (squab) was served in a broth, very different. The broth had chunks of coconuts. He silver pomfret was substituted for another fish species, that I found to be delicious. The Cantonese style lobster was very tasty, abd prepared a bit differently from what I am used to. Strangely enough, although the restaurant has been open for a few weeks, the carpet looks like it has taken a multi year beating. We all enjoyed this dining experience.

New Dim Sum in Manhattan! I went a few days prior to opening and again two weeks later and enjoyed the dim I ate. Both times I went early in the morning on Sunday and I didn't have a problem with getting seating with the old grannies and grandpas, nor did I have an issue with getting the dim sum I wanted. Everything was piping hot and the service was attentive. If I could complain, it's because they don't have mustard which I now have to have with my dim sum because a Yelp friend turned me on to that condiment and now I can't live without it! A few notable dishes I'd say include the Sui Mai, Fung Jao, and Har Gow. I especially enjoy the Sui Mai here because it have mushrooms in it and it's a big porky bite. The Fung Jao was a huge portion the first time I went and was noticeably less the second time though. It's a little pricey but it's shiny and new and hopefully it sticks around because there aren't too many great dim sum in Manhattan's Chinatown anymore.

Service is overall attentive. Our teapot was always replenished with hot water. Overall good variety of dim sum dishes though some of the flavor missed the mark in my book. Bathroom was very clean compared to other restaurants. There are areas that can be more thoroughly inspected and clean.

Typical banquet style big table dining. Had a pretty extensive menu. Wouldn't say anything was really standout but everything was pretty decent.

Checked out 100 Feast on a Sunday morning and enjoyed it! Pros: - Very crowded, you need to get a number tag from the machine. Plenty of waiting chairs. They inform you it's usually a 30-40-minute wait, but we got a table in 20 min. Moves fast! - Large, spacious dimsum hall with modern finishes. Pretty glass ceiling adornments throughout. - Solid dimsum: Love and recommend the Sticky Rice in Lotus Leaf, Beef Tripe/Offal, Beef Balls, Pan-Fried Chive Dumpling, Shrimp Red Rice Roll (I've never had this dish before, and it was amazing! A repeat order!). The elderly couple we shared the table with ordered the Ribs over Rice Roll with extra sauce, and that looked delicious. Cons: - The Shiu Mai and Deep Fried Glutinous Dumpling are good but they are better and more refined at Dimsum Palace. Can't wait to come back for the Shrimp Red Rice Roll and try their noodle dishes.

Came with family and had a mediocre time. The dimsum was average, some of the dishes like the chicken feet, tripe and pepper beef were pretty chewy. The beef balls and siu mai were. good. We were seated at a table on the far end and it took us more than 20 mins to flag down a dim sum cart for food. We also didn't appreciate that they tried to charge us tax and told us that did not accept credit card payments (cash only) when others beside us were getting a cash discount. Later, the server also told us we undertipped and needed to tip more. I thought it was quite rude. the seating situation was also a bit cramped and people kept squeezing behind me to get to their seats. For the same price and better service + food, I recommend going to Golden Unicorn down the street or to House of Joy. The meal came out to be about $25 per person.

I've been pretty excited to try this place out since seeing some posts online. We came by on a Saturday morning and it was packed with Chinese (elderly) people, which felt like a good sign. While hectic like a typical dim sum restaurant, the hostess at the front was pretty kind and helpful. However, after getting seated, the service was lacklustre - there weren't many carts going around, the ones that did wouldn't always stop by the table, and we ended up needing to resort to physically walking up to the carts ourselves and bringing food back to our own table. We saw many other tables doing the same, so unfortunately this wasn't an individual experience just based on the position of our table. After manually grabbing most of the dishes we wanted to try, we also placed an order for a couple other dishes directly with a waitress, who said she'd send that to the kitchen. After waiting about 10 minutes, she came by and apologized because she had forgotten to send in the order - not ideal, but during the hectic weekend rush hour, it was understandable and we appreciated her confirming she'd send it ASAP. After another 15 minutes of waiting, she said she'd check with the kitchen on what was taking so long. It wasn't until a second check in with the kitchen again 10 minutes after that, that she told us the kitchen didn't have our items available. At that point, we were pretty frustrated. Overall, the food was good - not better than the other plethora of dim sum options in the area, but also nothing to complain about. Unfortunately, the frustrating service experience with the carts and then waiting 30+ minutes for food that never came, I can't recommend.

    - The second-floor dining room is bright, modern, and spacious, with soaring ceilings that create an open atmosphere, though the tables are packed fairly close together - We arrived right at peak dim sum time around noon on a Saturday, and the waiting area was already crowded with guests; they use a ticketed wait system and initially quoted us 45 minutes, but we ended up being seated in a little under 25 minutes - Service features the classic old-school pushcart style; the pushcart attendants were warm and friendly, although we noticed the same few carts making repeated rounds; the waitstaff was also courteous, but during the busy lunch rush they were constantly moving, which sometimes made it difficult to get their attention - The dim sum was solid overall, with familiar, satisfying flavors across the dishes we tried; the chicken chow mein stood out for its generous portions of shredded chicken and vegetables, coated in just the right amount of sauce; the fried flounder was another highlight, featuring large flaky pieces of fish paired with a flavorful mix of fresh, stir-fried vegetables

Made a reservation with my family for my grandmother's birthday on July 4th. They had a table set up for us, the food and service were also great. Would come back again for future celebrations. My mom and I also ate upstairs at the sushi restaurant/bar one evening and the you can tell they care about the quality of all the food.

There was a wait list to get seated when we arrived but the process was simple and moved quickly, and service was prompt and food came out quickly. We ordered both the standard pork XLB and my faves, the pork and crab ones, as well as pan fried pork dumplings which I was surprised to discover were also full of soup, chicken corn dumplings, and two noodle dishes: rice cake with pork & mustard greens, and pan fried noodles with beef. Servers were conscientious about allergies and very specific about letting us know which items were which, but other than that were largely appropriately hands off. They did ask us, mid-meal, if it would be ok if a service dog were at the next table to ours, which I thought was courteous. (The service dog was adorable and well behaved.) All the food was fab, which we expected. It's nice to come in a group and be able to order more items for a greater variety. The rookies executed well (and thanked us for the instructions on how to eat XLB to avoid getting soup everywhere) and were pleasantly surprised by my longtime favorite, the rice cake and mustard greens. I'll need to remember that the pan fried pork dumplings also have soup, because I really liked the texture of them. Such good food, and as always, better shared with friends.

Dish highlights include the shrimp and chive dumplings, beef chow fun, and my personal favorite, the stuffed eggplant. Other items were a little bland, like the turnip cakes and har gow, and the pan fried shrimp noodles were awkwardly plated and made them difficult to eat. I also wish they had rice noodle rolls, which I didnt see on the menu. Really what pushed it to 5 stars to me was the service. We came as a huge group of 20, with a baby and stroller in tow, and they handled everything without so much as a grimace, just an outpouring of helpfulness. They sat half our group at a round table and the other half at a rectangular long table and also helped us navigate dietary restrictions, asking specifically who in the group had those restrictions. We didn't take him up on that as I'd find that wasteful but I thought that was so attentive and earned them a generous tip. The space is nice looking, and the food came out very quickly. We also didn't break the bank, even with plenty of drink orders. Dao's is an easy recommendation, especially when you factor in how seamlessly they handled our chaos.

It's the first time I had a scallion pancake that wasn't just straight dough inside/outside, or so thin that it got crisped out. I really liked this texture profile though. The eggplant was 10/10; the eggplant was cooked well, so tender but not soggy. The sauce was really good too such that it was sufficient spice but not flaming. Would recommended. I enjoyed the cucumber salad and tofu as well, but have had better. Seasoning and prep were good though -- although the tofu was cooked so tender (or maybe was silken tofu to begin with) that the whole table was struggling with carrying it from plate to mouth -- heh. I was browsing for places with scallion pancakes and I came across this restaurant. I saw they had a scallion pancake beef rook which I'd never seen before. It was fried and crispy on the inside with tender beef on the inside, that was slightly savory slightly sweet. I had the roll on its own, which made for a light meal, but it can also be enjoyed as a large snack. It was a little greasy, which can be expected, but not sure if I'd get it again. I did think it was innovative though. The most impressive thing about the restaurant was actually the space. I came to pick up my food and was surprised to see this beautiful place. The outside is unassuming and nothing special but inside has the aesthetic of an old Shanghai restaurant. It's ornate and slightly quirky. It's also really big, bigger than I expected. Even the bathrooms had traditional Chinese flare with the sliding doors. Definitely worth checking out,

It's also nicely decorated, which makes you feel like you're in China. It's definitely for a younger crowd with how loud this place gets. We had a huge party, so we ordered an array of dishes to share family style. Some of the most memorable dishes were the Mapo Tofu ($13.99), Hutaoli Roast Chicken ($43 for whole), Spicy Pot Potato ($19), Roasted Green Beans ($22), etc. All of the food is good, but definitely pricey. While the food also came out quickly, our drinks came out towards the end of our meal. It's a good spot for big parties as it never got too busy even on a Saturday night. They also have private rooms. The live music was fun, but also made it hard to have conversation.
