We went to 101 Craft Kitchen to celebrate the birthdays of my twins that turned 21. This honestly was one of the worst meals we've had as a family in a long time. The pretzels were good (although a little overcooked), the fries were soggy, greasy, and undercooked, the house chips tasted stale, the burgers had soggy bottoms buns, and they do not do anything to celebrate birthdays. Wow! What a great place to eat! We came with family and wanted a fun place with good food. You might say, a place that serves burgers? Yes, quite an amazing burger and everything is equally amazing. Let me say that their side dishes are stellar: I had the Fried Green Tomatoes and I could have made a meal from that dish, alone. My wife had the Mexican Street Corn (Elotes?) and loved it. I had the 101 Burger and it is stellar. The burger is so juicy and the pairing of toppings is equally great. My wife had the Perch Sandwich and Lobster Bisque and also loved it. Everything about this place is great. My husband and I have been here couple times and the food, the service and the atmosphere is just great. This seems like it will be our go to place when we can't think of a place to go to. Soon as we arrived, we were seated right away and the server came to take our orders very quickly. The place is very clean and the noise level is just right to hold a conversation with your party. We ordered the Jalapeno Cheese Poppers and the Chicken Wings for appetizer and they were both were delicious. If I had to choose one, I would pick the Jalapeno Poppers. It has a honey base to it, which is really good. For the entrée, my husband and I shared the Lobster Roll that came with Mexican style street corn. I don't even like corn but the corn was really good. As per the Lobster roll, it was just delicious. They did not hold back on the lobster meat. We told our server that we were going to share the entrée and when the food came out the lobster roll was divided into two for us already on two separate plate. They didn't have to do that, but that goes to show the excellent hospitably that they show to their customers. As per drinks, both my husband and I we like sweet drinks and we asked for recommendation from our server and she recommend the Lavender Blueberry Lemonade and Strawberry Mule. This is one of my favorite restaurants in Columbus. My wife and I have been here a few times, and the food and drinks are excellent, and the service has always been prompt and thoughtful. On our last trip here, our server provided great recommendations, and everything she recommended came out great. We shared the Jalapeno Cheese Poppers and the Chicken Wings - both were delicious, and large enough portion sizes for individual meals. We then shared a Lobster Roll, which came with generous portions of lobster meat (our server was attentive enough to ask the kitchen staff to split up the lobster roll - like I said, very thoughtful!). Their desire to make sure I had a delicious Ohio-based libation as promptly as possible has elevated the standard for what greatness in service should be. The mixology of the Berry Aperol Spritz was Jordan-like. Not Washington Wizards Jordan. I'm talking 1998 gravity defying Jordan winning title after title. I took the liberty of ordering the lobster bisque and when it hit my lips, I felt a strong breeze on the back of my neck akin to a breeze that you would feel on the beaches of Nantucket. For a moment, it tricked my brain into thinking that's where I was. A truly majestic lead in to the main course. The Creole BBQ Linguine. That's it. That's the review. If you don't order it, you messed up. Plain and simple. Look into your soul and try to figure out how you can elevate the decisions that you make in life. We're into speciality beers so wanted a description of a certain beer but waitress just said she had only one customer to order it with no feedback given. We then went to the bar to ask the bartender, he didn't give much response either. Since beer is in the name of the place, we expected them to know beer...not so much. A server delivered our drinks to the table and we asked if we could order drinks from her as our waitress was busy, she took our order then said she'd tell our waitress. Eventually when our waitress returned we told her we'd ordered drinks from the server and she said she couldn't take orders so she stood there apparently upset by us doing that and we gave her our drink/food order. Cons: - For having "beer kitchen" in the name, I found the beer options underwhelming, particularly the draft list. - We ordered the Fried Green Tomato's small plate as an appetizer, but it came out with the dinner. - Someone in my party ordered an entree that came with Fried Green Tomato's and asked if they could sub a different side since we ordered the small plate, and was told pretty directly "Oh no, 'they' will NOT do that." We then tried to cancel the small plate and was also told "No" because it was already started (but as mentioned before it came out the same time as the rest of the food). While I can appreciate the integrity of the dish having the pre-formulated list of ingredients, it would have been nice to at least provide a little flexibility or reasoning behind it. I thought the food was good here, it was very quiet at 3pm on a Sunday, they were probably no more than 10% full, so we got a great table. Wait staff were great, service was speedy and food was hot. I personally had a chicken burger and fries, others in my party had various foods, including Mac and cheese, and a salad. All the food was complimented. As for ambiance, it was great because it was so quite so we could all speak and think without the usual hassle and bustle going on around us. Wonderful experience from start to finish! We had a party of 6 and making reservations was easy. When we arrived to the restaurant, we were seated right away. We had a great server (shout out to Patrick!) who answered our questions and explained the specials for the evening. I had the salmon & hash for dinner and it did not disappoint. I'm a "frequent flyer" at the Gahanna location of 101 Beer Kitchen but have only been to this location once before. I don't get out this way much because of how bad Polaris traffic can be, but this place is located the opposite direction of Polaris, so it has less traffic going on. Its in a complex with Buffalo Wild Wings (also a nice location), Fresh Thyme, a juice bar, and cycle bar. You could really knock out a bunch of tasks all at once coming here. This location seems to be smaller than Gahanna's, definitely with less seats at the bar. Although, the bathrooms are a bit nicer. We got a table outside which was lovely. Its covered so the sun wasn't an issue. Only problem is bugs... there are woods located right behind the building and with them come bugs. My friend and I both enjoyed our meals. I got the balsamic chicken salad, and she got the pesto mussels. Both were good portion sizes. My salad was so refreshing. Service was fine. Our waitress checked in on us and was friendly. On shift manager was a total jerk. 4 people from our party were mandated to sit inside, instead of on the patio with our other 3 tables. The restaurant was empty. Mind blowing, I have never seen this before. I have never seen a business work harder to avoid additional revenue. I will never take my colleagues there again. I'd give a 3.5 stars rating if I could due to the limited menu being rather seafood heavy which limited options for one of my party members being allergic. The food was okay, nothing crazy special but not bad. I ordered the tuna and avocado toast which was alright. Their Parmesan fries and each were great! We enjoyed the pretzels but the sauce that came with it that was supposed to be beer cheese tasted like salmon so that was questionable. My brother enjoyed his strawberry and spinach salad with chicken and my mother said her 101 burger was pretty good. My father was hoping for more dark beer but there were only two options. Talk about great food and scenery! Upon arrival to 101 Beer Kitchen in Polaris, I noticed how new and clean everything was in the area. Parking was super easy with the convenience of a parking lot that is free (who doesn't love free parking). As you walk inside you are presented with a rustic theme and a warm type of vibe. It didn't take long for us to be seated as it was about 3:30 on a Sunday afternoon. Our waiter immediately brought out a giant sized growler of water for us. I was very happy to see that they did not bring out plastic straws either. As for our food, I ordered the 101 Vegan Burger and my girlfriend ordered the Pecan Crusted Chicken. Both of us really enjoyed the food! My burger was a black bean and sweet potato patty with guacamole and the tomato on it was the perfect touch. It added just the right amount of moisture to this delicious sandwich. Oh and I can't forget to mention the chips that came with it. Hands down some the best chips I've had, I could eat a whole plate of them. The Pecan Crusted Chicken that my girlfriend ordered was just as tasty, I was able to snag a bite! They did not skimp out on the chicken here, this meal came with plenty of it. One of my favorite things at any restaurant is when they box up any leftovers for you. Our waiter did exactly that. Shout out to this restaurant for a fantastic holiday dinner! We picked up our Christmas Eve dinner at 2:30. It was ready on time and brought out to the car in two giant boxes. Easy to follow directions were included. The braised short ribs just fell apart and the mashed potatoes were the creamiest I've ever had. The bread pudding with creme anglaise and whipped cream was delicious. All of our company were amazed with each course. Hats off to the chef who got this holiday meal together. We were helped right away but I walked into the bar area to look around and a hostess came up to ask to make sure I had been waited on. I was really impressed!
