Tried 101 Beer Kitchen with a group of family and friends for dinner last Friday night. Made reservations, and they were busyyyyyy. We got right in, nice spacious and comfy booth. My Peachy Keen cocktail was delicious. All others enjoyed their drinks- comments were made about how strong they were, so be aware! Between us collectively we had the loaded hummus and naan app, burgers and parm fries, walleye sandwich, mac & cheese, shrimp and grits and a summer spinach salad. Everyone enjoyed everything. Been meaning to come to this place for awhile, and based on the reviews I should have come sooner! My friends from out of town were visiting and we all decided to catch up at 101 Beer Kitchen in Westerville. The drink menu is really impressive. It as filled with both recognizable & new beers to try, and my girlfriend was really happy with the variety of ciders as well! I stuck to the interesting cocktails. My friend ordered the Tropical Palmoa which packed a punch, and I had the Little Brown Jug which was served in a tall glass. It had a really nice flavor to it which I thought was easy to drink then it definitely snuck up on me so consume with caution. I switched over to 101 Old Fashioned and these were strong and delicious (taking a picture slipped my mind by this point). Served in the classic fashioned glass, with a lemon and cherries on the bottom for flavor. I really liked the size of their ice cube as well, it didn't take up a ton of room in the glass and was easy to drink out of so whoever cuts their ice does a great job. These drinks were between 10$ and 12$ each, so pretty average prices for cocktails. Very worth it. My friends ordered the Loaded Housemade Tater Tots to share. The tater tots came out nice & hot, and were covered in a drizzle of sriracha cream which was not spicy and added a good flavor. I ordered the Housemade Soft Pretzels. I decided to cut the pretzels in pieces that way we could share with the group. Came with a nice cheese spread. I really liked this, but the tater tots were definitely my fave and easier to share! I ordered the 101 Burger, which came with Angus beef, bacon, American Cheese, Horseradish Mayo, lettuce, pickles (came with the perfect amount of pickes!), tomato, all between Brioche Buns and served with Parmesan fries. So huge juicy burger and lots of fries. Noticed in someone else's review they switched out the fries for brussel sprouts, so I think I'm gonna try either that or chips next time. Definitely will satisfy your craving for a nice burger. My friends had the Crispy Lemon Chicken and the Teriyaki glazed pork belly & shrimp bowl. Both looked and tasted delicious, and the serving sizes were NOT small by any means! Our server was really good and checked up on us at like the perfect times. Definitely kept us restocked on our drinks and was really pleasant and efficient! Additionally, just want to point out and give props to 101 for making an easy to read menu with descriptions so I knew what to expect. That's always comforting. As we were leaving, we kept commenting how 101 Beer Kitchen was a great pick. Definitely will be back, and I highly recommend everyone tries it out! read more

We've been going to this restaurant since they opened their original location on Sawmill Rd. It's been consistently one of the better restaurants in Columbus... I'm sad to say that it's feeling more and more this no longer the case. While the food still has the "from scratch" foundation, it's heavy on the bread and carbs and entirely too light on the meat. Ordered a short rib sandwich this evening and it barely had any beef. The green chili used to be loaded with pork... Not any more. The prices have went dramatically up like everywhere else thanks to the socialists but quality also has taken a nose dive. Our family wants this local restaurant to sue and thrive, but they had better get back to their roots or it will be gone and soon. read more

Bless the wait staffs heart, they didn't balk at us when we came in 30 mins before close time. I'm usually not that guy... but we asked if we were being a pain, and told no so... I went with it. Quickly sat at a table away from others seated, server took our drink orders within minutes. Their beer list was one of the best I've seen in a awhile ! Solid beers and good variety, not just IPAs and stouts. Ordered the 101 burger, because this was not my first time here and I know just how awesome this burger is! Subbed Brussels sprouts instead of fries. They were delicious with this horseradishy taste that I gladly inhaled. The burger was on point, with a good amount of pink and oh em gee, the softest bun - I'm drooling as I type ! This isn't the first time I've been to 101, and certainly won't be the last. Great service and great food. We haven't been to this location for some time and stopped in today. I had fried green tomatoes and their Low Country Pasta both of which were outstanding. Both showed creativity and contained good amount of well prepared quality products. Shrimp and andouille were plentiful and the shrimp and both were well cooked. Delicious and delightful. Lunch was fantastic! The hostess was cheerful and welcomed us, asked about a high chair and off we went to our table. A cute little clip board with the kids menu and crayons was placed on the table for our little one. Our server stopped by while we were getting seated. He dropped off a growler full of water and some glasses and gave us a moment to get seated. The menu was a large piece of paper with 3 main sections: Starters/soups, Brunch, and Lunch. We both choose the same burger from the lunch menu. Order: 101 BURGER- Angus beef, Nueske's bacon, cheddar, horseradish mayo, lettuce, pickles, tomato on a brioche bun w/ hand cut fries. Wow!! The plate of food looked amazing. The burger smelled wonderful and the fries looked really perfect. The whole burger was beautifully put together and all the ingredients tasted fantastic together. The horseradish mayo was delicious and did not overpower the sandwich. In fact I think it made the sandwich unique. The burgers were cooked perfectly, and tasted amazing. The fries - They were cooked perfectly and tasted delicious. I loved the sea salt, Parmesan and parsley seasoning on the fries. Excellent!! Went back to this location again and had a great time with a friend. I had 2 5oz samplers, which were both good. I don't think I've ever had a legitimately bad beer here. The loaded tots are amazing!! So good. They're shredded potatoes, pork croutons, cheddar, green onions, and sriracha cream. They're very crispy on the outside and great potato texture on the inside. Great burger. Nice atmosphere. This is a kid friendly gastropub between Polaris and Westerville. We came in for our first visit Saturday for lunch. It was busy but not overly so. We both decided to order the 101 burger which comes with fries that are sprinkled with salt and what we think was Parmesan cheese. Very tasty. I got the burger with regular mayo instead of the horseradish mayo, although my husband said it was even better with the horseradish: not too strong. My burger was made just how I ordered it and was juicy. The bacon: I've never had bacon quite like it and the flavor worked very well on the burger. It also had nice large pickle slices, tomato, lettuce, and cheese. They bring a small cup of ketchup on the plate which is probably more sanitary than leaving it on the tables. We went to this place Sunday afternoon, simply because we had not been there in awhile. To my surprise the place was not busy at all. We actually sat on the outside wall next to the patio and we were the only ones sitting in that section. We had the pecan chicken which I must say was a lot of food. I was contemplating the 101 Burger or Green Chili. When I told the server Green Chili or Burger she said wow, Green Chili for sure. So Green Chili is what I ordered. When to food arrived I was somewhat surprised by what it looked like. Absolutely not at all what I expected see. I tried to make the best of it and eat as much of it as I could, but that did not go very far. When the server came back and checked if everything was ok, I very politely told her the Green Chili was not at all what I expected and she seemed quite surprised by my answer. I told her I would go ahead and make the best of it, but again it was, for lack of a better description AWFUL. She said she would speak with her manager about comping the item. Wether she did or not, I have no idea, Because she brought the check, never said a word about what the manager said nor did the manager ever approach us to see if everything was ok or did we have a concern. So happy we found this place!! My friend and I chose this place because we were looking for a casual place to grab a drink and a burger. The restaurant has a very casual gastropub/bar feel. We sat at last two seats at the bar because we were hungry and didn't want to wait for a table. (I actually prefer to sit at the bar when I go out!) The drinks are very reasonably priced - I had a cider and my friend got a cocktail, and neither were over $10. I had the 101 burger, which is essentially their version of a bacon cheeseburger. It was incredible! Cooked perfectly and very flavorful. I love that the bacon is in small pieces, because I hate eating a burger with strips of bacon that are hard to bite off. This place is the perfect example of how you can turn classic bar food into delicious crafty creations. Easily the best tater tots I've ever had that were crispy and full of so many flavors. Each of their sandwiches have house made paired flavored mayo. Even something as basic as Mac and cheese was made into a mind blowing dish. I decided to patronize this location after my younger sister graduated from Otterbein. Our family came from all over Ohio and Kentucky and we were not sure where to go, so I suggested this because I heard so many good things from some people and boy I was WRONG. All of our food lacked flavor (I ordered the chili and a sandwich) and everyone stated they would never listen to my recommendations after that, lol! That's how mad my family was! Everyone in my family was not happy and the service was piss poor too. The waitress was hard to find, we waited forever for our drinks and we even had to signal for another waitress to get our waitress after we could not find her for over 15 minutes. The manager came around and we mentioned that we were not satisfied with the food or service and he just walked away without comp'ing anything on our order. This was my first and is the last time I will ever go to this establishment, because of even though the restaurant was nice the food and service was subpar and we left very dissapointed. Came here the other night because our house was completley torn up for a remodel job. Plus, I felt like a burger. This is not the cheapest place to eat, but the burgers are consistently good; my husband can get something GF; my daughter loves the kids meal; and I love their beer selection. The burger was good....a tad overdone, but still tasted fantastic. Tye fries are always delicious too. Husband had the blackened walleye & gobbled it down in about 10 minutes. He also had the Mexican street corn, which is a must if you haven't tried it yet. The kiddo had her usual pepperoni pizza with all her sides, a drink, and dessert. I was afraid it would be a yuppie/hipster place but not at all. We walked in with the kids (awesome kids menu by the way) and there was about everyone there you could imagine from kids to couples to people just hanging out in the bar area. Very friendly staff and excellent service. They had Bellhaven Scottish Ale on draft (A+) and I also had an Abita Amber on draft (Also A+). Kids menus are cool with a entree, 2 sides, and desert. Drink also was included, I think. I had the Reuben with the red cabbage (awesome) and fries. Everything was very very good. It's not cheap but not expensive either I didn't think. Fantastic service, easy order to go process and pick up, & amazing food selection, quality and flair. We had a very exceptional first experience as we celebrated a birthday. Our large spread had a few fan favorites; the salmon, shrimp & grits, pierogis and Brussels sprouts. The salmon hails from Norway and was super fresh and flavorful with a bed of hash! It was a beautiful marriage as the hash consisted of beets, mushrooms, Brussels sprouts, bacon and more; I would absolutely order only the hash as an epic side or starter. The shrimp and grits were also well done with several beefy shrimp and cheesy grits that were amazing as stand alone side. The butternut squash pierogi side was Incredibly flavorful and well done. A nice consistency and a flavor I hadn't handled before. Highly recommended. Finally the Brussels sprouts and bacon were of the crunchy variety and a healthy portion. Great taste. Our pick up was on time and fast. Also the kid options are expansive and only 6 bucks a pop! Looks like a great spot to visit once things open back up a little more substantially. I've been coming to this area for business off and on for a few years and I have had truly good food and drinks consistently.
