We had another good experience here last night. All of our food was good, but I do have a few tips. We ordered the egg rolls. It's an order of four halves so two complete egg rolls. They were good but I would t need to order them next time. For our entrees we had the burger and fries (the fries were really good), fried meatloaf (very different but good), shrimp and grits (always delicious), and the kale Caesar and potato leek soup. Everything was good but I don't know that anything really stood out. The service was good as well. Now for my tips. #1 they need to add another door. It was FREEZING in the restaurant and we were seated right by the door so anytime anyone came in or left we got blasted with cold air. #2 They had hanger steak on their menu. The menu we saw before we went said that it was $29 for that entree. When we got there they had raised the price to $45. Their most expensive entree was $20. So double the price of anything on their menu and a full $15 more? I understand prices have gone up but there is no way you can get your moneys worth on a hanger steak (a filet maybe) and it was just hand written in on their menu as well. It was tacky and unprofessional. We had planned on ordering but could not justify the price hike. read more

My son & daughter in law moved close to Corydon & we went to visit them. They had made reservations at 1816 on a Saturday night. It was packed, but they had our table ready & waiting for us, so we were seated immediately. We ordered two appetizers. The egg rolls & fried Broccoli. Both were delicious! My daughter in law & me ordered their salmon...highly recommend. My son & husband ordered the burgers. It was a very good meal & wonderful wait staff. Will definitely go again. read more

Came here for Sunday brunch with family while visiting from out of town. Awesome new little place. Definitely a must try if you are in Corydon! The menu was very interesting and to be honest we had to Google many items on the menu. We all tried something new (pictures attached) and everything was awesome! My husband and some friends stopped by this weekend! The food was delicious! We started with the fried green tomatoes and the poutine! For dinner, I had the steak-n-chips and the 3 others had the smash burger. Everything was so good we had to order dessert! The apple cheesecake is AMAZING!! We were leery about trying this place out on just the second weekend they were officially open to the public, but more than exceeded our expectations. We had a group of 4, service was spot on, and the food was terrific. I had the smash burger, it was phenomenal. We ordered a piece of apple cheese cake and shared it with the whole table. The absolute best Brussels I've ever had and Fried Halloumi salad. Crispy Skin Chicken (roasted leek/onions/potatoes/carrots/crimini mushrooms/ bourbon gravy) and the Steak and Chips (hanger steak/ chimichurri/ parmigiana fries) was phenomenal. This place is a hidden gem. As an Airline Pilot who travels all over to taste amazing food I would put this on my top ten list world wide. Thank you Chef Dickerson for the food. For drinks we had the old capital fashioned which was perfectly balanced with Four Roses bourbon and a go-to margarita that had a hint of jalapeño and finished with an interesting take of a cucumber. We were pleasantly surprised to find this small, quaint restaurant in downtown Corydon. The food is fresh, local sourced, and chef made, very impressive. We had the corn fritters. I'm usually not a fan, but these were the best I've ever eaten. We split the smash burger that came with fries. Both excellent. Servers were efficient and friendly. Small but mighty. Located in a historic building in downtown Corydon. The service was terrific (Amber)! We just had soup, but tried out some beers and a wine. It was a fun little lunch! We'll come back when we visit this area. read more

Delicious food and adequately priced. This afternoon during my first time in, they had questionable customer service. Considering they weren't busy (2 other customers), it took a moment to get aknowledged/seated. When staff was around they stood uncomfortably close, that I politely scooted farther down the booth (personal space) and they basically just read the menu for me (which I thought was odd). During my time there, staff was mainly chatting with each other or about themselves at the other customers. I ordered one of their sweet potato buns at the bottom of their lunch menu ($8, the BLT) and was given their lunch special instead ($12 and delicious, an item about which I did inquire). I was in a hurry over lunch hour and completely famished, so I enjoyed the meal and didn't raise a fuss. I still tipped 15%, though staff seemed distracted (perhaps because they were about to close between lunch and dinner). Like I said, delicious food, adequately priced, and there's not an other place like it in Corydon. Seems like a cool date spot. I would consider going there again, and even changing/deleting this review but next time I'll have to double check and confirm my order. Especially if staff is overly chatty. read more

This is my wife and I'd favorite restaurant. Food is always spot on. Fantastic flavors. I have yet to have a dish that wasn't fantastic. The fried green tomatoes and the truffle fries with sun dried tomato aioli are worth the visit alone. Can't recommend it enough! read more

We were just passing through Indiana on our way to Missouri but then hunger pangs set in and found this place through Yelp and was not disappointed. First off, Corydon was a charming little town. We didn't have reservations and dining room was not very large and they had to maintain social distancing but fortunately we were able to get table because we came pretty early for dinner. We enjoyed almost everything we ordered. Our entrees were delicious and very generous portions. The only nit picky points I have are that the watermelon gazpacho soup was too sweet (seems like sugar was added unnecessarily) and the peach tea cocktail was also overly sweet. read more

We tried this cute little place a few months ago and couldn't wait to come back! It did not disappoint and only wished we lived closer to try all the entrees. We started with the egg rolls and they were crispy on the outside and crunchy veggies on the inside. Two of us got the crispy chicken with fingerling potatoes, broccoli, and spaghetti squash. The outside was definitely crispy and the inside was moist and juicy. It was all on a bed of delicious gravy. A friend got the crispy chicken last time, so decided on the fried meatloaf. He enjoyed it very much along with the mashed potatoes and brussel sprouts. The desserts looked amazing, but unfortunately we did not have any room left. read more

The only reason we give them 3 stars is we called at 11:30 am to reserve a table in the dining room at 6:15 and when we arrived they offered us a table upstairs which is accessed from outside the building and the seating area upstairs is simply an overflow area that does not resemble the restaurant at all. We are regular customers. Nothing but positive to say about the place until today. Owner has began making an extra 3% charge to your order to use a credit card. This is not good. It's a sign they are failing number one. I don't want them to fail. It's also taking advantage of customers and many people don't carry $50-100 cash with them. My brother in law and I went to 1816 tonight after making a reservation at 6pm, and had the most unbelievable experience that I've ever had. My brother in law had finished eating and I was still eating my ramen, and our server came up and asked if we'd like desert. We declined, but my brother in law ordered another drink. When the server returned with the drink, she then proceeded to tell us we had 5 minutes before we'd need to leave because they had another reservation waiting outside and they needed our table. I was still eating my dinner!! This was at 7pm. Then, after the five minutes was up, another employee came out and told us we needed to leave right now for the other reservation. At this point, I was beyond pissed. I told her why do we have to leave? There's two empty tables behind us. She stated they were going to use those tables along with ours to combine them together because that reservation was for a large group. I then pointed out that the table next to us had a family sitting there that had been there when we arrived and they weren't being asked to leave. They didn't have a response for that. I also stated how our reservation confirmation email showed that we were confirmed to be at the restaurant from 6-7:30 and it was only 7. Once again, no good response other than to say, they mismanaged the reservation. How is that our fault?? It was the most bananas thing I've ever experienced. The owner then came out and gave us a piece of "consolation cheesecake" in a to-go for having to make us leave. Truly unbelievable and we will NOT be returning and have spread the word to others. read more

We are so excited this just opened. We just moved to the area and happy to have such a cute place to eat and drink. The food is incredible, fresh and layered with flavors. For only being open 4 weeks they nailed it. It is not typical for new restaurant to be so on top of it. So lucky we have this place....it is a must stop. We will be back often. read more

The service was excellent. The food was delicious. My only complaints are about the WiFi & mimosas. They listed free WiFi on the Yelp page, but it wasn't available. Mimosas are not typically served on the rocks in a wine glass with a straw. I actually, NEVER IN MY 45yrs, have EVER been served a mimosa on the rocks. It really dilutes the champagne. You might as well serve a white wine with OJ. Please don't try to reinvent a drink. It's not a pleasant surprise. read more

Unique spin on southern flare in a nicely remodeled space of a former town staple. Come with an open mind and empty belly and maybe check out the menu on Facebook before you go so you can google the ingredients :-). You may not recognize all the names but that's ok, dive in and experience something new! The best ramen I've ever had, sweet potato biscuits are amazing, the smoked apple on the classic fried green tomato with pimento cheese is the best 6th man in food! If you aren't a FGT person go for the truffle fries or spring rolls. Don't forget the Apple cheesecake (or whatever cheesecake is on the menu) for dessert. For a cocktail it's gotta be the the Old Capitol Fashioned, you are in Indiana's first state Capital so embrace it! read more
