So we took it to a mechanic where he found some codes that affected the emissions. So it wouldn't pass. We took the car back and told them what the mechanic found . My friend was not going to put down a non refundable $500 if the car didn't get fixed . They said they would have their mechanic look at it and when my friend called on Saturday they said the problem was fixed. So he paid them $500 and said when he got back from his trip he would pick the car up. When he came to pick the car up we took it back to the mechanic and he retested it and new codes came up. Of course we were upset! We took it back to Action Auto and they said those codes will just go away the more you drive it. Umm who wants to buy a car already having issues? The car had also been in an accident but they said it didn't affect anything . Well my friend stood his ground and said he wanted his $500 back because he didn't want the car with known issues. The manager wasn't in to authorize the money to be given back so my friend had to call the next week. During the sales pitch he asked what the best price was that they could come down to and he was told there's no room to go down in price. They were also only going to give him 5 gallons of gas to go home with ( when you buy a new car the dealer always fills the tank) a few days later he called the manager and he finally approved the $500 to be refunded. My friend went to another dealership up north and bought almost the same car with less mileage. They put all new tires, replaced the cabin filters, filled the tank with gas and came down on the price . . Another funny thing.. my husband looked at all the negative reviews on here so he called action auto and told them he was looking at a car on their lot but then read all the negative reviews and asked them why... they said well gave you looked at google reviews ? (We all know people can make fake reviews on Google ) my husband said no just the ones on yelp and the guy hung up on my husband . So what does that tell you? This business is so freaking shady ! Please do your homework before you buy from them. Take the car to a reliable mechanic to make sure the car is actually ok. We sure are glad we did! Shady, shady business

They went to their bank to finance the car but the title was not in the dealer name and the bank had a notice of the dealership that it has had previous issues, so they would not approve the loan. My friend let the dealership know that they would not be able to move forward and they would need their deposit back. The dealership refused to refund the deposit even though there was never mention of it being non refundable and now they are out 500$. The issue was on the dealers end and they refuse to make it right. I get a deposit to hold the car of like 50$ but 500$ is absurd to just hold the car. You may be better off looking somewhere else, I've never had an issue with Action Auto at any of their locations.

They replaced the string but reassembled it wrong and the sunroof, which was completely fine before, rattles now. I brought it back 3 times for them to correct. They charged me but didn't fix a thing. Then the Service Manager, without looking at my car or the service record, insisted they didn't take the sunroof off. They refused to extend my warranty coverage by calling the problem they created a "pre-existing condition." Also charged me $1300+ for oil change and $80k standard checkup. I took my car to Southtown VW. COMPLETELY different experience. The Service Manager told me that the ONLY possible way to get replace the little string was to take the sunroof off. KG Service Manager straight up lied. I just bought another car. I avoided KG VW entirely because of the incompetent, irresponsible, and dishonest Service Department there.
