Decided to eat at 3 Flavors after reading the reviews. I'm glad that I did. It's a small place in a strip mall along Airport Blvd and University, but do not let that fool you. They are cooking up some amazing food. I ordered the Coconut Soup and Shrimp Pad Thai. The coconut soup was delicious. The Shrimp Pad Thai was amazing. Well, three flavors had a really bad night. I'm not sure I understand what happened but the Tom Kha soup was compromised with a pouring of vinegar. It was not edible. So there was some chaos, the ladies in the front did not get their food after over an hour of wait. It does not make sense because they were only three or four tables with customers at it. There was a lady in the bathroom for 45 minutes. I think she was ill. They forgot to bring somebody's meal at our table and after waiting over an hour with no comment or explanation things got a little testy. I can't believe I've not left a review before now. We love this place! The diverse menu always gives us plenty of options to choose from (though honestly I order my favorite dish here every time). Even our friends who don't usually like Asian food like coming here. My favorite thing on the menu is the (pork) katsudon. It's just like I used to get when I lived in Japan! It's tender, crunchy, sweet, tangy, and umami. I love it so much and I don't want anything else when we come here. My husband usually enjoys the variety of Thai menu options. He likes the noodle dishes and curries. Our child usually gets shrimp pad thai because they love noodles and shrimp. We almost always get the gyoza for an appetizer because we all enjoy them. I especially enjoy the mango sticky rice for dessert when mangos are in season! The service is always good and friendly and we always have a good meal here. This is my favorite sushi restaurant, hands down. They do have other things on the menu such as hibachi, Thai, and Japanese entrees, but I'm a sushi girl. The owner (Caesar) makes the sushi himself, and will happily oblige to special requests. Don't see what you want on the menu? Tell him what you like and he will create a roll just for you. He's a people pleaser, and goes the distance to make sure his customers are happy. He is from Thailand and makes everything as authentic as possible. The place is clean and cozy, and is great for date nights as well as group events or family outings. He does have a kids menu, and my kids RAVE about his chicken tenders. (They're boring, and not into trying new things.) Prices are very reasonable, and there is a lunch special during the weekdays. They have a Facebook page where they post photos daily of menu items as they're being served. It's a great way to see what they are if you prefer visuals. They also participate in the food delivery services (Waitr, etc) but I unfortunately live way out of their delivery range, otherwise I'd be getting my sushi fix way more often. It's worth the 40 minute drive for me though. I've not once had something on the menu that I wasn't happy with. read more

Mediocre food, poor service. I was with a friend, they brought her food out way before mine. I sat there and watched her eat. Our server brought her soup, but not mine. I had to ask for my soup. My meal also came with a salad. I had to ask for that too. The server said "Oh you want salad too?" It was part of the meal as listed on the menu! 3 Flavors is hands down my favorite sushi place in all of Mobile County. The only downside I have found is that since they are so close to a church, they do not have a liquor license. I'm not a huge drinker but I do like a glass of wine with my sushi. They've got an extensive menu and if you don't see something specific, just ask the cook! He can make just about anything you request. It's always quiet, relaxed, and has excellent service. It's never too packed and you never have to wait too long for your food. This place is a gem! We always eat here every time we are in Mobile and last was yesterday when we passed by coming from Biloxi. They have the best calamari that you can't find anywhere. A great little place with a huge selection of sushi rolls, hibachi, and Thai food. I like the shrimp and steak hibachi meals, but I also love the sushi here. My favorite is the dynamite roll and a side bowl of onion soup. It's amazing. Service is sometimes slower than you'd expect, but Caesar, the sushi chef, really puts his heart and soul into each roll. I was looking for an Asian restaurant in our area that served Pork Katsudon. Found "3 Flavors" on my Bing search and decided to give them a try. This appears to be a family-owned, small business. The night we were there they had several groups of people already seated and it was only one waitress and one cook working ...The waitress was friendly and answered all of our questions. The wife ordered the Pad sweet and sour with Chicken. I ordered the Pork Katsudon dinner, and we shared an appetizer tray. The timing of our dinner was a bit off, as my soup and salad as well as my wife's dinner came out before the appetizer tray. The hubs was wanting some pad Thai and mango sticky rice, there were a lot of great reviews of the pad Thai so that's how we landed here. He must of liked his pad Thai because he ate the entire thing! I love lo mein and opted for veggies instead of protein (literally have never done that) and dang! Fist little taste of fall and it's raining in Mobile,had me craving Pho and not just any Pho but the shrimp tempura Pho I saw a picture of on Facebook. It did not disappoint! I had mine with chicken broth but you can also have beef broth. The first bite of shrimp the tempura batter is still crispy and the broth scalding hot as it should be,as you eat your way through the Pho the tempura batter on the shrimp gets soggy and makes them like a crouton or dipped bread in your Pho but better. Dinner choice of my daughter's and it was a nice surprise. My first time here and the menu is extensive for any Asian flavor. BIG sushi menu that we bypassed although it did look tasty. It had traditional sushi and nigiri along with tempura rolls. I had seafood cashew pad Thai. It was tasty and she had the tofu curry. Her date had the red chicken curry. All of the plates were generous, hot and tasty. A nice quiet place to enjoy delicious Asian flavors. I didn't give it 5 stars because I didn't try any of the sushi so I must plan another trip back to see what it's all about.
