It's really SHOCKING that this spot gets such high ratings. I've been here twice and have not been impressed. Just visited yesterday for lunch ... nothing was BAD ... but nothing was really worth coming back for either. My flatbread was actually (surprisingly) the tastiest item I had. The Red & Blue Coleslaw was sorely disappointing ... I had dreamed that a nice, creamy blue cheese dressing would just be a delightful complement. Not so much. In fact, no sight nor taste of ANY blue cheese. Just a slight essense of vinegar and two scoops of cabbage. That's about it. Only took a couple of bites and didn't bother to go any further. Still a huge fan. Their new chef is greater than the last, and the new drinks I've tried have again impressed me. Always trust your bartender at 320... They will do you no wrong. However, if you feel you must order a Red Bull vodka or a Bay Breeze? Do yourself a favor and walk a few feet down the street to some other bar before someone points out that you're in the wrong place. The only problem I find with this place is that every time I come here, I always want to just eat and drink and eat and drink and eat and drink some more. Sure, I whine about missing SoCal Mexican food. Truth is, I miss 320 Main more. Owner and bartender Jason is a genius, and I'd gladly give up my liver, right here and now, for his Corpse Reviver #2. For ages I refrained from singing the praises of this place, lest you flock to my favorite place in all of the beach cities. But now, a thousand miles away in Portland, I can only offer you my blessing and benediction. Go. And ask Jason to make you something with benedictine. I swear you'll love it. read more

This is my new favorite place to go with my husband for drinks and appetizers after a long day at work. Most week nights they have some sort of special and happy hour is from 4-6. The wine selection is great; the food is amazing; and my husband loves the cocktails and beer. It's very intimate and the servers are kind and friendly. The food prices tend to be a bit high, but they do offer a great happy hour menu for those looking to save some money. Update 11/10/2010: After several more visits, I can not rave about this place enough. I have ordered several more dishes from the menu and they are mouth-watering, tasty, and FRESH. I enjoy cooking and understand food in a small way, so I know when I am eating food that was prepared with care and attention. Went there right before the holidays 12/18/16 at 6:30 PM. One of our guests in our party said his food was cold. Some items on menu were sold out and even some of the substitutes were out, service at table was ok but the poor waitress tried as hard as she could but these things were out of her control. Bread was not brought timely either and food service was slow. Food quality was good, what we could get. This was the second time there and was not the same experience as the first time. read more

320 Main is ok. Went for happy hour and it was just a nice, relaxed spot to catch up with old friends. I think this is a compliment, but it's just like a Yard House. Nothing fancy, just a solid bar with good food. Like Yard House, 320 Main has a dark, stoic complexion to its decor. Prices are affordable, nothing too high end. Cocktails were fine, just fine. I had a manhattan for my drink, and I was disappointed. From the website this place seemed like it had a nice bar, but mine's was not boozy enough. Oh shucks. Serves american food, mac and cheese, sliders, ribs, duck fries, artichoke dip. Mac and Cheese and sliders were the stand outs in the bunch, but no twist on the familiar favorites. I thought there would be more to this place, but really, the best way I can describe this place is simple comfort... comfort food and comfortable surroundings. Every time I come here, I am both satisfied and surprised by my experience. I will continue to rave about the food, and the cocktails are all kinds of awesome, without a doubt. Octopus salad. Get it. Perfectly cooked, sitting on a bed of greens, a light dressing, and some beans. Sloppy Joe. This was a one-off thing, but I really want to twist Chef Jamie's arm to find out what spices he put in that sloppy joe mixture to make it taste so damn good. I mean, it's just a sloppy joe! DUCK FAT FRIES --- honestly, I was probably going to give 4 stars, but the Duck Fat Fries, alone, bump this up to five stars - the fries are excellently done, mixed in with strips of duck fat and other ingredients, producing a symphony of tastes! This is a small bar/restaurant across from Essentials salon, where I get my hair done... (Kristin is an awesome stylist) so I come here frequently. Today, my friend from out of town joined me & we had a nice Saturday afternoon lunch. We sat on the patio, so we could people watch & enjoy the hot day. I ordered the trio of sliders with bacon & cheddar cheese & we both ordered the mushroom flatbread. Both items were so good. It was a lunch special, so we got complimentary wine & iced tea. I like to sit in the large, comfy booths inside, where on another visit, I ordered the beef dip sandwich & duck fries. My friends ordered cocktails and were impressed, also they have a pricey chocolate cake that is yummy & worth it for a treat. The PBJ dessert is out of this world delectable. I see many people celebrating events when I come here, so it has that kind of vibe too. It can be romantic in the evening. There are many hip ,cute restaurants on Main & I am on a quest to try them all. This one is worth the time & $$$. read more

Been here a couple times, though the menu was tweaked slightly between the two visits. The Bison Burger has seemingly returned to Wyoming (no complaints here, actually). Pros: Great vibe and decor for dinner. Huge sucker for handcrafted drinks, which they do well. Located on, well... Main St. Seal Beach so it's close to the pier. Tapas-style ordering. Cons: The fried cauliflower (not my choice) had the texture of something one of these South Bay freaks put in their juices. I got kinda happy the other night. I had an Absinthe, an Old-Fashioned, and a Daiquiri at 320 Main, a steak and chops place that looks and acts a little bit like a speakeasy. The hostess really, really sounded like Betty Boop, and the bartender wore a fedora and really took our drink orders seriously. Ah, mixology as an artform, something that is so depressingly rare these days. I would love to become a regular there, if only I wasn't legally bound to care for my biological children. The website looks like it's a fancy place, but it really has a neighborhood bar feel and everyone was friendly and knowledgeable. We feasted on a grand old leisurely 2.5 hour dinner, where I ate a bunch of carbs (specifically, these FUCKING LEKKER pommes frites topped with slivers of cured duck and caramelized onion, AND they had this dessert called the Cookie Monster, a warm, way-too-buttery-but-come-on-there's-no-such-thing-as-too-buttery cookie with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, and chocolate sauce...totally simple but FRIGGEN FINGER LICKIN'). There was a rib-eye thrown in there for good measure. Sorry, pancreas. I am back on the wagon today. After a meal such as that, would YOU want to blog about teaching Korean to your children? Hell, no! I went here for restaurant week and I was very pleased with everything I ordered. Appetizers: French Onion Soup - delicious! Mac and Cheese - Super Yummy Bruschetta - I love tomatoes so I was in heaven! Main dish - Chilean Sea Bass with Cauliflower Puree - YUM-O! Dessert - Fried PB&J - different but really good if you like peanut butter.. Creme Brulee - it was okay I think it was Coconut Creme Brulee was not bad but I totally prefer the fried PB&J! woot! This place has a very prime and fun location on Seal Beach Main Street. During the warmer time of the year it's nice to come out here and sit in the patio and have one of their many delicious drinks. Unfortunately other than the location and their drinks everything else is...meh (ok). Sadly I have had a burger and a steak here, two lobs that any stellar restaurant should knock out of the park, and they were "meh" . They weren't bad and they certainly weren't great. The burger here is something that you can be ousted at Islands or Red Robins, which is not saying much. The hangar steak was good, but the sauce that they put on the plate with it was one of the worst sauces I've ever had, sooo salty it was unreal. I hate writing a bed review, but I just want people to know what to expect. Like I said not bad food, just not worth their hefty prices. As good as it gets! I have gone here a few times and every time it is nothing short of fantastic. A change in management can be risky but this one has been extremely beneficial to the establishment. They serve amazing drinks, mostly harking back to the 20's and the 30's the drinks are all "old-fashioned" and go down so well. Making your way through the drink menu is well worth it. I highly recommend Gilbert as your bartender, he makes the best Amaretto sour this side of the Mississippi. The food is ok, nothing exciting. We had the house chips and dip one night and the honey ginger creme brulee tonight. I didn't taste any honey or ginger which was a shame. If it were me, I would put little bits of candied ginger it and make the whole thing much lighter. Food for thought. Nevertheless, this place has become our new watering hole of choice. Wow. I had pretty high hopes for this place going in, and I was not disappointed. I'm a cocktail snob who loves to eat, so my visit was dual purpose. One of my peeves in the world is that VERY few restaurant / bars make a proper Old-Fashioned. There is no excuse for this, yet it is true. My Old-Fashioned arrived at the table looking positively handsome, with big, beautiful square ice cubes, and a skewered orange peel and Luxardo cherry for garnish. It tasted as good as it looked. That goes for the Sazerac and Jack Rose I had later as well. The food was incredible as well. We ordered several appetizer plates instead of entrees this time around. We started with the Bourbon Sea Scallops. I think it was the best scallop dish I've ever had. The outside of the scallops were perfectly carmelized, but the insides were not overcooked. Next, we had the Mac and Cheese, Sliders, and Spicy Shrimp and Green Beans. They did not disappoint. For dessert, we ordered the Cherry Pie and a Creme Brulee. Too, too good. Made a reservation for Friday night for with a group of 4. Got our table no problem. The place was pretty cold so everyone had to keep their jackets on. I didn't mind but everyone else did. The cocktail selection is great, I enjoyed both cocktails I ordered. A+ We ordered an appetizer, and after waiting a while for it, our server told us they didn't have enough so it will be about half the regular portion. Then she came back and corrected by saying that they were actually completely out. We enjoyed our entries but the wait was really long. 1 of 2 salmon entrees came out very rare so we had to send it back to get it cooked longer. Our server was very friendly and apologetic. It wasn't a big deal just a few bummers. Not the worst experience, not the best. Overall I probably won't make an effort to come back. read more

I love this place! I have lived in Seal Beach for years now, this is a gem and one of the best on Main st. There's not too many places you can find craft style cocktails made with love and a late night happy hour starting at 9. My favorite is the fresh squeezed greyhound but whiskey/bourbon seems to be their specialty. No one else on Main st offers this. And it's not just a couple drinks, at least 20. Definitely the best chicken tenders I've ever had and for $8, I have them too often. I also like how they always change up the menu and keep things fresh, which all of the food seems to be. I usually sit at the bar and all the different bartenders are super cool and friendly. The manager Chris always greets us in a professional manner and always stops by to say hello and make us feel extra special. Five stars all day! read more

Cheese & Charcuterie is pepato cheese, chicken liver and veal pate, prosciutto, purple mustard, pickled vegetables, and grilled bread. The pate was more like a terrine of chicken liver and veal but absolutely delicious! The texture was a little coarse but melts in your mouth from your natural body heat. The pickled vegetables were perfect, just enough pickled flavor while keeping the vegetables crisp. The prosciutto was fantastic with a faint scent of gaminess which reveals the aging process. It melts in your mouth like pork-flavored candy. Pepato cheese is like parmesan reggiano with an aged aroma and creamy finish on the palate. Thumbs up, way up! I had to try a hand-crafted cocktail. Punchin' Daisies is made with Maurin Quina (French aperitif), fernet (bitter, aromatic spirit), lemon, and elderflower syrup. I'm unsure how to describe the experience, but I loved it. It has a sweet and sour front end with a slightly bitter finish. The aroma was familiar but I couldn't place it. After you sip and swallow the cocktail, you are left with the taste of butterscotch candy. This is a really fun drink that likes to play with your senses. Thumbs up, way up! Crispy Skin Branzino served with cauliflower couscous, pomegranate, butternut squash, Brussels sprout leaves, and brown butter. My first impression as it was brought to the table, "What is that fantastic aroma?" It was the brown butter and crispy skin of the branzino. The skin was beautifully crispy and the fillet was succulent, delicately sweet and flavorful. The vegetables were beautifully presented with bright orange butternut squash, bright red pomegranates, and bright green Brussels sprout leaves. Everything worked together for a perfectly balanced dish. Thumbs up, way up! 8 oz. Skirt Steak served with bacon braised greens, romesco (Spanish nut & red pepper-based sauced), king oyster mushrooms, and hand cut fried potato. The skirt steak came out a perfect rare with a deep red interior. Even at rare, the beef was tender and sweet. The bacon braised greens were tender and naturally salted with smoky flavor from the bacon. The king oyster mushrooms had a meaty texture and were cooked to perfection. Thumbs up, way up! Apple Butterscotch Tart served with crème fraîche and vanilla wafer. A twist on the American pie turned galette (French term for flat round or freeform cake or tarts). The crust was flaky and buttery. The apples tasted like a tart caramel apple, but not too sweet. The crème fraîche was creamy and matched perfectly with the apples, sort of like vanilla ice cream atop an apple pie. Thumbs up, way up! Brown Sugar Cake served with banana, braised pineapple, and candied pecans. Fantastically presented on a cross-section of a tree trunk! The brown sugar cake was moist and had a salted caramel flavor. The banana "coulis" worked great with the cake and braised pineapples, very tropical like a deconstructed pineapple upside down cake. Thumbs up, way up! read more

We liked our cocktails, but everything else was just okay at best. My dad ordered shrimp and grits, and the shrimp were so tough he couldn't even eat them. The salmon was so overly dressed it was barely edible. This was all after it took nearly an hour for the food to come. When we got so antsy that we flagged down the waiter to ask about the food they told us they would comp something and they did (our cheap flatbread). It was a nice gesture but not nearly enough to salvage the experience of waiting forever for unimpressive food. One of the most expensive places on Main Street and not worth it at all. We randomly swung by here after hydrobiking in Long Beach. The original place where our group planned on eating for dinner was closed so we hopped onto Yelp and found this place. All day happy hour on Sunday! The 4 of us shared appetizers for dinner. We tried the duck fries, bbq ribs, calamari and the fried pickles. I tried everything besides the pickles (since I'm not a fan) and it was all delicious! Ribs literally fell off the bone and fries were AMAZING. Finally I found myself in Long Beach one night and decided I needed to stop by even just to check the place out. Took my girlfriend here for her birthday. Called hours in advanced to make reservations and they were very courteous over the phone. Came at around 6 pm on a Friday night. The bar was crowded but the restaurant was empty. The hostess let us sit anywhere. The service is really good. Waitress came and took our drink orders immediately. I ordered some tequila mixed drink, and it was absolutely delicious! Our appetizer was spinach and artichoke dip. It was served hot and fresh along with tiny slices of toasted bread that was delicious! My girlfriend ordered the salmon with mashed potatoes and carrots. She loved her meal. I tried one of her glazed carrots and it was cooked very well. It was perfectly glazed, and melted in your mouth. I ordered the curry lamb with seasoned fries and spinach/mushrooms. My lamb was full of spice and a hint of ginger. The spinach and mushrooms where cooked quite well and full of flavor. Overall the dining experience was amazing. Parking was easy; we didn't have to walk far. The service was excellent. The waitress was knowledgeable about the food. The restaurant lighting is nice and romantic. I recommend this place for small groups/couples that are looking for a nice dainty restaurant. read more

Wow!! I loved this place. I am not sure if i was just in a great mood and nothing could be bad this night but 320 Main really stood out for me. We have driven by this place for years and never stopped in. We were actually going somewhere else but it was full so we decieded to try it. What a great Vibe. I think that is what really made it for me. This place has a comfortable yet hip vibe to it. there were people of all ages and styles there. It is pretty small but it didn't feel too crowded. Our waitress was also so sweet and helpful. Ok so the Kicker for me was the drinks. they have the old prohibition drinks. Wow, WOw, WOW. You can tell they really take pride in their drinks. My husband had the Sazarak and the old fashion. I had a side car, corpse reviver and something else I can't remember. so amazing. We had the main bison burger and I had the calamari and mussels. We love food and my husband said that he thinks that was the best burger he has ever had at a restaurant. the calamari and mussels were so fresh and delicious as well. Food: Delicious drink specials and good appetizer options for happy hour ($4 plates/drinks) Hodge podge salad off the regular menu is a favorite Ambiance: Nicer than a casual bar (nice enough to bring a date or any out of town guests), but still has a relaxed feel. Service: With the exception of an aloof/inattentive blond waitress, the rest of the wait staff are all polite, friendly, and try to be attentive... unfortunately, they are understaffed for the business they get. Food service and drink service can be slow - so I think 320 needs to realize they are get good business, and need to hire an extra cook and an extra waiter/waitress. read more

I'm only reviewing breakfast as this is probably the only time I will be eating it there. I can't say anything about the other meals (lunch or dinner). My friend and I went for brunch and ordered American breakfast that includes eggs, bacon, potatoes and toast. The eggs are only able to be cooked in three ways, scrambled, poached or over easy. I got them scrambled (they ended up soggy) and my friend ordered over easy (the egg was still semi-raw). The potatoes were the mini multi colored potatoes. They were cooked appropriately but were quite salty. The bacon was also cooked well but it had a weird tasting cure it. As for the toast, it was overly brown. Overall, it was bad. In addition our meal we had coffee, which as good and the cheesy pork belly grits (half-off at the time) which would had been good if the egg had been appropriately cooked. The waitress was kind enough to remove both meals from the bill but that still doesn't change the fact that they really need to overhaul the way they cook brunch. The staff was friendly and the decor is nice in case you care about those things. read more

Disappointing and not as expected. Incredibly expensive for the sub par food quality we had for dinner. This is a tiki bar basically trying to be a gastropub. Very rude waitress when trying to get accomodated for allergies. I politely said I cannot have any dairy when ordering and my meal came out covered in butter with a dollop of added butter on top. I asked if I could get my meal redone and that I did not mean to be difficult and was responded back with a lot of attitude and rude behaviors. Having ordered duck fries and ahi tartar, I expected a short wait filled with jovial conversation with my accompanying female. Somehow, you had different plans. NO, you saw fit to make me wait over half an hour for two simple appetizers. NO, you made me ask the waitress where our food was! And when it did arrive? What of that? In place of my usually lovely ahi tower was a mishmash of fish parts arranged in no particular order with sauce thrown about as if it were crafted by a common homeless person! For shame, 320 Main. We were charged $12 for two crab cakes, roughly the size of fifty cent pieces. My treasured "Old Fashion" is now being served sans cherry. The owner decided, one day, to that cherries should not be included with their tasty beverage. If you're going to charge me $10 for a cocktail, include the friggin' cherry. We're told there's a new Executive Chef at 320. He/She has a goal of making you order the main entree. To do this, make the appetizer small. Everyone in the restaurant business knows that restaurants make all their money off of appetizers and desserts. If my crab cake is so small and costs me $12, what makes the Exec. Chef think that I'm going to order a main entree for 30 or 40 dollars? I hate to do this to a place I love. I was invited to come check this place out, I heard that the food was good, the atmosphere friendly & just an all around fun place to hang out. So I thought what the heck I'll give it a try. Located on main st, it's just a little walk from the theater, as you walk up too the place you will see seating outside for the people watchers or if you just enjoy a meal out in the fresh air. As soon as I walked in the staff made me feel right at home. For those who like cocktails they have a full on bar, The bar tender was working his magic (Kinda reminded me of the mad Chemist from the movies, Lol) But none the less this guy was making some great drinks with names I couldn't even pronounce. The place was small but very comfortable. The food was "AWESOME" I had the french dip, Here's the thing I don't even like french dip. But I had theirs and it was so tender and delicious I love it!!! Again, the rating system lets me down as I would rate closer to 4.5. This place is very good, but the service is sometimes lacking. Overall highly recommend. To start, try their baked brie. It's just excellent. Also, as ridiculous as this might sound, also try Conrad's mac 'n' cheese. You loved mac and cheese as a kid (and might now) but you'll love this! Just outstanding. They have a Filet and a NY strip with gorgonzola, which are outstanding. I'd recommend trying the filet first, then onto the NY strip. Also, make sure they do the veggies right - if there's something wrong with the food they undercook the veggies. Dessert, try the cherry pie. BUT, you'd better love cherries because they've been soaking in cherry liquor. Go there and give it a try! read more

We went to Seal Beach with our dog last week for a nice stroll and dinner, but unfortunately most restaurants didn't have outside seating areas where we could go with our dog. 320 Main however, was an exception. After a short wait for a patio table by the sidewalk we sat down to a very enjoyable dinner. We started with the ahi tuna nacho's appetizer special which was delicious, and funny because it seemed everyone on the patio had ordered the dish and we were all raving about it. We also had an order of the BBQ ribs, which were by far the best since we've been in CA. They were meaty, juicy & fall of the bone tender. YUM! We did learn that the 320 Main has recently changed ownership, but the new owners will be doing minimal changes & will do a grand reopening soon. Let's hope the quality of food doesn't change. 320 Main is a cute little restaurant located in downtown Seal Beach. It has a quaint feel to it, kinda reminds me of a cottage, but without all the floral decorations. Actually, on the inside it has a pretty modern feel to it. Went for dinner with the bf and had a great time...it's hard not to with great company. It was happy hour so we started off with bruschetta, which was a really small portion, 4 pieces, but it was good and light. My bf had the chowder, good as well. I had the caprese and added candied walnuts to it, it's served over a bed of spinach with the balsamic and slices of beefsteak tomatoes and mozzarella. It was huge! I didn't even order dinner because it was so big. My bf had the filet medium rare, and at first cut, we thought it was way over-cooked, but once he cut in to the middle, it was perfect. The mashed potatoes were light and airy which was a nice change to most other restaurant's mashed potatoes. Too full to try dessert, but the service was great and so was the food. The food and drinks were actually really good. I ordered a fish dish that had a number of side items that didn't seem like they would go together at all. Turns out it was delicious. The crispy polenta squares were phenomenal and the moscow mules were perfect. Service was also very attentive. If we were in the area, we would definitely come back here. My only complaint is the atmosphere - it is kind of strange. The restaurant is very small and it seems that the best thing the owner could do would be to just dim the lights a little bit. It is way too bright for such a small place - there is nothing really that you need to see inside, so dimming the lights would make it a little more intimate and a little "cooler." read more
