I would give this place a zero if I could! To start off the bartender (who I found out was the mgr) couldn't remember what I ordered! I had to tell him three times that I wanted a vodka tonic which is a very common drink and it tells you what is in it! He tried to up sell me some expensive vodka but I had to tell him no three times that the well vodka was fine and he asked me what was your drink again? He then poured me the weakest drink ever! My friend got the happy hour margarita that was so bad that he didn't want another one. After two drinks and some nachos I got the bill and they had added a 18% gratuity for large parties! Since when does two people constitute a large party??? When I asked him he said that was their policy. So they actually don't have to be any good at their jobs (or nice) and get a tip for doing nothing! It's too bad for them because I usually tip better than 18% when the service is good! As for the nachos they were pretty small portions and had diced chicken that were so small that you couldn't even taste the chicken. Before showing up i would suggest making a reservation over the weekend if not you'll possibly be sitting at the bar with your crew. It was 4 of us but the bar tender (forgot his name) was great! I just visited this location on a Sunday. It was ok, I will most likely not return. I had no reservations, but was seated right away since I got there after brunch ended. The food was ok nothing amazing, I will say get the nachos, very small portion but good. The music was good, but no AC it was so hot that me and my friend didn't enjoy it. There is only valet parking or a parking lot next to it, but if you can find street parking instead do that. I remember when this was Big Wangs and the Sports bar that would have big beers, low brow bar food, pitchers, and debochery...but now it's a new vibe. Upscale, Glamorous, Classy, Elegant Sports Bar style. To go with the neighborhood of TAO, Dream, Beauty and Essex, etc. The bartenders were chill, and also can make a mean drink. My friends were raving about this place for weeks, so we finally decided to spend our Friday night to come here after a concert nearby. I thought it was just going to be a dive bar, but wow this place is very lively, what I mean lively was that they have a live DJ, full bar, plenty of TV's, beautiful looking staff and very catering. 3rd Base is conveniently centrally located in Hollywood's jungle city. The venue is beautifully designed with a bar located in the middle. When we came, I forget that I'm in Hollywood, music can get a little loud later in the night converting the sports bar scene to a cool sexy lounge. Cauli Burger- love the Vegan option, Surprisingly it made me forget that it was not meat. Fried Strawberries- must try this, it's just not a cheesecake, it's like an angelic cake and cheese cake in one. Lobster Pizza- this is - one-of-a-kind pizza you must try. Okay so first of all, the Yelp page/photos does not do this place justice. I rolled up on a Sunday at the start of football season to watch the cowboys play with my husband, and I had to do a double take as we drove by. The nachos are a necessary purchase. I haven't had nachos that good in a long time, man. Every single bite does have a little bit of everything. We also got the grilled cheese triangles and that I wasn't a big fan of. The delivery was great, but I think it was the Gouda or perhaps the sourdough it was served on that had a distinct smell and/or flavor that I just couldn't vibe with. My husband liked it tho! I got the black mamba burger with an impossible patty. It was good, perhaps a little dry, but that could be because of the patty. I'm sure it'd be juicier with the truffle oil patty it's usually served with. My husband got the salmon and he thought it was "okay." Checked this place out over the weekend and was a little disappointed. The overall style and design is nice and the servers were very friendly. I will say though, the women's server uniforms were skimpy, not a fan of that. I got the vegan cauliflower burger, and was not impressed. For the price point ($14), it should include fries (I had to order those separately, $7). The burger was served on wheat sandwich bread and the cauliflower was more of a mashed potato texture than a patty. The flavors were good, but that's about it. It also comes with a pickle, but the flavoring is sweet which was a little strange. I also ordered an orange crush cocktail which was good, but a little overpriced ($14). My group ordered several appetizers and they agreed the Philly cheesesteak sliders were the best. (I'm vegan so I didn't try them but they looked good). They were not happy with the mozzarella bites, they're not traditional so the inside appears to have shredded mozzarella instead of slices. It was mostly filled with air, so they were pretty bummed. I've heard a lot about 3rd base so decided to try it out. My friend and I went for food and drinks. The place itself is cool, nice vibe with great music. I had a reservation for 8:30. After we sat down, they said that we would have to move around 10 pm for a larger reservation (online says we are guaranteed at least 2 hrs). We decided to move because we didn't want to move if we decided to stay longer. The server took a long time to even ask for drinks and food. She never checked in on us throughout the whole meal so to have gratuity included on the bill was not my favorite thing. The drinks were good and food was good but not for what they charge.
