The food is really good here. I showed up at 6pm and it wasn't as busy as I expected. Seated and served right away. I ordered the hot & sour soup, a large cup chock full of veggies and tofu. The soup was really good. I added a touch of hot sauce. I also ordered the crispy 1/2 duck. Crispy duck can be cooked in the oven or deep-fried. Their version is deep fried, which made the skin crispy but the meat was still tender and delicious. I had the fried bean curd w mushrooms& eggplant in a garlic sauce. Really good and portion was huge. I also has a small bowl of brown rice which was really two cups of cooked rice. Along w a Tsingtao beer, a very satisfying dinner. The service was great. This used to be my go to spot. The service was also so so... You either had a really good server or someone who barely checked on you and forgets to refill the water. Food is good, pretty consistent and I usually just go here for take out now just because I don't want to risk having a crappy server. Crispy Thai wings are popular but I recommend the Lemongrass chicken wings or sticky wings. The Beef Loc Lac and Cantonese Noodles are also good. One thing that they make better than other Asian places is the Hot and Sour soup! It's not as good as it used to be but it's still a solid choice to bring some food to a party. read more

While the hostess, server, and busboy were all attentive, I would have to say that this would be in the lower percentile of Asian restaurants I have been to. The place felt dirty with portions of prior customers' meals crusted onto the tea pot and tea cups that I used. I ordered the Kung Pao Shrimp, which was one or at best 2 stars for the food quality and flavor. I feel bad as they seem to be making an effort, but they could use a menu refresh, deep cleaning and renovation. It would also help to have better recipes for the Pad Thai and Kung Pao dishes. Do you like really well prepared and spicy Asian food? If so, you'll like this place a lot. Ate here for the first time the other day, and was very impressed with everything. We started with nime chow, which were fresh and flavorful. I like how you get a big bowl of the peanut sauce, and a bowl of some red hot pepper sauce too. My wife and I shared a vegetable bee bong, and the standout dish which was the chicken Cambodian style. Damn, that chicken was good! It's ground, fried, and mixed with lemongrass, stringbeans, herbs, and very spicy jalapenos or some Cambodian equivalent. This dish not only brings the heat, it is incredibly complex with all the flavors complimenting everything else. I'll be back for this alone, although I look forward to trying a number of other items. Yes yes yes! I have finally found an authentic greasy-spoon style Asian restaurant in Providence!! Not only is the food delicious, but the inside beautiful! This is THE place to go for a weekday lunch. Check out their lunch special menu. One of the options: Chicken fingers, beef teriyaki, egg roll, rice, chicken wings and soup ALL for only $5.95. This kind of deal is UNHEARD of anywhere else. Highlights: -Beef teriyaki is some of the best I've ever had. I would definitely get these again. -Chicken wings are sweet, crunchy, and not messy at all. They have restored my faith in asian-style wings. -Peanut-sauce on anything is a must -Pineapple chicken is also a good option (albeit a bit pricier). I reheated the chicken and added vegetables for leftovers, because the sauce was so delicious. Service is very fast as well, so you should make it back to work on time if you give yourself an hour. read more

Love the nime chows here. Have been a few times for lunch and always wanted to come back for dinner and drinks. Came last week for dinner and was not impressed with the service at all. It took forever to get service after we were seated. During dinner the waiter was no where to be found and was not friendly. They didnt have combo plate options for dinner. I had a mai tai. It was good but small. We had our favorites....nime chows, hot and sour soup, spicy wings and tried a schezuan noodle dish with shrimp and pork in it but didn't care for it. Throughout many years it is consistently great food. I've had everything on the menu. Best nime chow you will find. Bee Bong is significantly better than other restaurants and you will not find lemon grass wings as good as these anywhere. We like to mix it up between Viet Namese, Chinese and Thai. All really good. Decor is tired, service is just okay, but the food makes up for everything else. It is sort of the gold standard for Asian fusion minus the sushi. It's probably one of the best places for Pan-Asian takeout in the area - just a shame they don't have delivery service. I never had them before but I thought they were delicious! We both had the rice noodle soup with chicken. We added a few wontons to it as well, and that was very good too! Not much flavor to the chicken or broth so we added soy sauce, lime, and chili paste. Which made it spectacular. The waiter never came to check on us after we got our food, and the process of paying took at least 15 minutes. Like after he brought our food he completely forgot about us. Very inattentive. We came here because the photo of the fried wings was just too tempting to pass up. My only regret is I should've asked for the "spicy fish sauce" that's in one other reviewer's photo. Yelpers have it right -- 4 1/2 stars is the perfect rating. For inexpensive, well prepared Pan-Asian food, it doesn't get better than Four Seasons. I should be more specific -- their Thai and Vietnamese are excellent; their Chinese food is only so-so. But I digress. No one makes a better Nime Chow. The cellophane noodles and wrapper are always tender, but not gummy or sticky, the bean sprouts crisp and fresh, with the perfect complement of just right amount and type of lettuce and mint. I had been visiting this restaurant since it first opened in the late 80's. I went there on Tuesday evening at 8pm or so to have a quiet dinner. A young family came in with a baby who was about 10 months old or younger. Throughout the evening the baby would let out blood curdling screams to the point where I actually dropped a utensil from the deafening shrill. The parents did nothing to attend to the child, never picked him up or tried to redirect his energy. The screams continued and so I left. I am sure that the parents were ill equipped to cope with a screaming child or perhaps they just didn't care about spoiling anyone else's dinner. On my way out I addressed the staff to say this really was the worst dining experience I had ever had here. They didn't apologize. one waiter said with a dismissive tone, that there is nothing we can do and started to walk away. I asked if there was a manger I could speak with. He rolled his eyes and pointed him out. I then walked over and explained that I had been a patron of this restaurant for three decades. He said, I'm sorry and I said you should really approach the family and tell them that their child's screaming is interrupting the other patrons. Nothing was done to address my concerns. I would think that 30 years of going to a place would afford you some intervention. Apparently not. This is a place that should post a screaming child policy on the door. As well, to the owner John Meul, please note that I will never again give you my business. You need to train your employees about the value of a happy customer. A dissatisfied customer will tell many more people about a bad service experience than a good one. Because of your staff's cavalier attitude, I will feel particularly motivated to spread the word. To be clear, a gesture of apology would have gone a long way. I can certainly get better service at Red Rice or Apsara, Shame on you for not appreciating all of your customer's dining experience!!! read more

My husband and I have been patrons for over 25 years. We love the authentic Vietnamese foods! The quality, quantity, and price of dishes are all fair. And my review would've been 5-star if it hadn't been for cleanliness issues this last visit. We visited this past week (on a weekday) for lunch and found it to be very disappointing, and truthfully, disgusting. Dishes and silverware had to be exchanged because the table settings were dirty. We chalked it up to a dishwasher problem and found the 2nd set of plates & silverware to be clean. The food was delicious (as always), but then I went to take the first sip of my water only to find food particles in the bottom of the glass! Thank goodness I was done with my lunch at this point; because this turned my stomach. Somebody in the dish washing department is falling down on the job! A short walk to the restrooms revealed carpeting littered with papers, etc. This has never been the case in the past. We couldn't heIp but wonder if the low-quality of cleanliness may have been because of Aaron's absence on this weekday. I hope Aaron will read this review and insist that his staff step up to the plate and check items BEFORE they make their way to the table and keep carpets, windows, etc. clean. If this continues, you're going to lose customers and I know we can't be the only ones who have experienced a cleanliness issue. P.S. Windows shouldn't be smeared with fingerprints and flies either. read more

This is my restaurant when I am feeling sick. I come here for their Fish Tum Yum Soup. I love spicy food. I ask them to make it really spicy and always ask fish without bone. This is truly a cheap eats restaurant with a great Tum Yum Soup. They serve Asian dishes from Chinese, Thai, Cambodian and Vietnamese. I normally stick to Cambodian and Vietnamese here (their specialty). The staff is friendly and there is a waiter named Roger (really funny and helpful). They also make a good lemongrass chicken here. Went to 4 Seasons (once again) with my Khmere friends and have to say that there is a reason we go there to eat. The food is so true authentic Khmere food, stuff we would eat at their homes but is very labor intensive, so let's just go out and let some one else do all the work! The service staff is off the wall enjoyable, professional, attentive, but not intrusive. If the owner is on the floor, he such an added bonus! He is hysterical! The prices for the amount and quality of dishes you are getting is off the charts! Over time, we have had many of the dishes from the menu and never has there been a disappointment, doesn't matter if it is a soup, an appetizer, or dish I only know how to order in Khmere, You will always leave with a doggy bag! Of all the different types of dishes they have to offer, I always want one of their soups! I always go with a Khmere friend, so I don't even know how to order them in English! But there is a soup with shrimp, pineapple, and tomatoes, we eat it over rice.....it is too die for! Tonight we had a soup with beef, eggplant, and veggies....awesome! I think on the English menu it is called "Delicate Beef Cambodian Beef Soup". If you want more traditional American/Chinese food, they also offer that. Just got to say...I love this place! read more

I've come here for takeout and the food wasn't bad but sitting down for dinner was a completely different experience. After being seated it took over *15 minutes* for the waiter to ask us for drinks and take our order. Others that came after us received service *before* us. After taking our order the waiter disappeared for another 10 to 12 minutes; we never received our drinks. Not until I got up and asked the receptionist what happened did he finally come back with them. The food (thankfully) came shortly after. After finishing our food the waiter went another 5 minutes without asking us if we want a check. I had to, again, get up and ask the front desk for a check. The receptionist (not the waiter) took my card and ran it. Poor service doesn't even describe this. This was no service. He never even apologized for the wait or the inconvenience. You're lucky I'm a decent person and still left a 10% tip. I don't know if this was just a bad night or if this was outright discrimination since we were the only white couple there but I can confidently say I won't be coming back. read more
