My aunt came down from sf and said a vietnamese youtuber recommended this spot. Shes vegetarian so she was looking for places that had vegetarian and meat for others. I thought mines was okay i got the number 7. I couldnt tell the difference between 6 or 7 but the server said 6 no more. So i got 7 which was the hu tieu special. I added alot of garlic as the broth was a little bland for me. I wished they had saute sauce that wasnt just lemon grass though. The tea here was really good. Came here on a Sunday around lunch time and at the first impression, there were many unbussed tables. After a few minutes, we were seated by the host and waited about 30 minutes before they took our orders. After 1 hour and a half of waiting for our food, we checked in with our waitress to see if our food was ready and the kitchen staff stated they had not made our food yet. Before ordering, I simply asked if I could have a vegan/vegetarian menu so I could review the available options. Unfortunately, the employee I spoke with--who I believe may have been the owner--refused my request. When my mother politely asked in Vietnamese if we could have a menu, we were told, "If you want a menu, you can sit and eat." That response was disappointing. Not everyone is comfortable using a phone to view a digital menu. Many older customers, including my family members, prefer reading a printed menu so they can understand the ingredients and make informed choices. If a printed menu for takeout wasn't available, there were many other ways this situation could have been handled. Someone could have offered to let us look at the dine-in menu briefly, made a copy, or even shown us a photo of the menu. Instead, we felt dismissed. Customer service is about finding solutions, not creating unnecessary obstacles. After making the effort to drive such a long distance, this was not the experience we expected. This interaction has made me think twice about returning. If a business doesn't value potential customers enough to help with a simple request, it's difficult to feel welcome. I sincerely hope you take this feedback constructively. A small act of kindness and a willingness to help can leave a lasting positive impression. I saw this place advertised on Facebook so we decided to try it out. It's located in OC in a plaza next to a coffee shop and a shabu shabu place(Lau in Vietnamese). The lady that took our order was super nice and friendly. She pointed out their best dishes which was the 5 different kind of meats so I decided to order it. They currently have the special where you ordered any 2 dishes that are $14.99, you get a crispy chicken rice or a dry noodle for free. The plate of the food was huge with 3-4 big pieces of meat, Cha, crispy bean curd with shrimp paste (even though I did not taste the shrimp),1 meat skewer and pork skin. I have to admit, the meat was delicious to my tasting but the other stuff was not too good. 2 people can share 1 plate as it was plenty of meat for one person. The place was very clean. My uncle watched Vietnamese YouTubers dine at 405 Com Tam & Noodle in Westminster and raved about it, so I decided to take my family and uncle there for lunch today. When we arrived, I realized it was just next door to the Vietnamese all-you-can-eat buffet where we frequently go. The space is fairly large, and the servers are all from the buffet restaurant. We were seated right near the front door. I tried to wave at the server to take our order, but it appears like all of the staff here are only focused on the back tables... I've waved several times. I even went over to the female server to let her know we were ready to order, but she gave me a dirty look and ignored me... I spotted another person who appeared to be in charge, and I told him I was really upset because I had waved so many times, even told the female server, and had no response. Finally, the female server who had ignored me arrived and took our orders. I asked for ice tea, and she delivered me hot tea. I asked for 7 plates and 7 bowls several times, and she only brought two bowls. I told the server to change another ice water cup because one of them was so dirty. She never brought us new ice water. The food we had was flavorful, especially the broken rice dish, which was large plate and satisfying. Would I return to dine here again? NO! For the first 30', I was still having empathy for that one and only employee having to do everything. Is having a waitlist that hard?? Just don't be THAT greedy dude. I received a half-ass "Sorry" from them, nothing else. Not even tried to be nice "I'm sorry we're understaffed thanks for your understanding." The food was not terrible but nothing special, you can randomly pick any other place in Westminster and it would still be better than this. Thank goodness the other restaurants in the plaza were closed because this new restaurant was amazing and we're so glad we tried it out! This place specializes in noodles and noodle hot pots.
