Chicago style deep dish pizza! What makes this one different than others I've tried is that here the sauce is a bit sweet, there's less cheese, and the crust isn't too thick, although it's nice and deep. All of those factors are appreciated! I got the Loaded combination and it was perfect. The pizza takes a solid hour from the time you hang up your phone after placing the order. And that's expected because this is a thick pizza that needs time to cook. It is a takeout only operation. However there are 2 bar stools and a narrow counter if you're desperate. They are only open on limited days and limited hours. Be sure to check their website as they keep it up to date regarding their latest hours of operation. Currently (as of July 2025) they are only open Wednesday to Friday from 3pm to 7pm. But they do catering, so be sure to give them a call for your next event!

Oatmeal Cranberry, Chocolate Chip Cookie, Snickerdoodle--really loved the Snickerdoodle!

Truly love how they master their pies--meaning both savory and sweet! They also have pretty decent wings as well. Ordered the spinach deep dish, honey bbq sesame wings, and a dozen of cookies (chocolate chip, oatmeal cranberry, and snickerdoodle). The spinach deep dish speaks for itself--amazing!! Very simple in ingredients but absolutely finger-lickin' good! It is comprised of mozz cheese, mushroom, and spinach--amazing! The wings were succulent and meaty! To my surprise, I thoroughly enjoyed the snickerdoodle cookies. They were thin and perfectly seasoned in cinnamon. My second favorite was the oatmeal cranberry cookies. They also sell pies by the whole and by "hand." I definitely am going to come back to try their Loaded deep dish pizza and the banana cream pie that fellow Yelpers rave about. Oh - and they have loaded fries, which I also am going to come to try!

I tried all 4 flavors of their hand pies and the cranberry cookie. All were delicious. My absolute favorite was the Nutella banana handpie. And my friends all agree. Call 24 hr in advance if you want to order whole pies. I wasn't able to get one day of. Wilson was great. Helped save me the pies I needed. Very friendly too.

When I called 40 mins before closing time, they didn't take an order because it takes 45 minutes to bake it. But when I called today they said it's ready in 25-30 minutes. And I went pick it up. they've forgotten my order. I had to wait for 30 minutes.

During this covid19 period, 5000 Pies continues to serve their community. They even offered pantry items to help provide reasonably priced mainstays for the folks in west Long Beach. They do offer takeout, and we called ahead with our order. Got two deep dish pizzas (the crust is so flavorful) and some of their award winning hand pies! Thank you chef Mike and your team for giving us a reason to smile during this period of isolation. Your deep dish is far superior to a trip to Chicago.

I had the personal regular crust which was ok, the food was fresh and the toppings were plentiful. But my favorite by far was the personal deep dish. It was an extra half hour but we'll worth the time. It will be the only pizza I get from here on out. Can't say enough good things about it.

Ask the Community - 5000 Pies

Are you going to be closed for thanksgiving week again this year?

Hi Kayla, Thank you for asking. Yes, we will be closed for Thanksgiving week.

Are these their real hours from 3:30pm-7, or they didn't update their info on yelp?

Thanks for your inquiry. Yes, we do update Yelp and those were our summer hours. We will be closed to prepare for the new school year with our new staff team. When we start our Fall Schedule beginning August 30th, we will be back to our 2:30 - 6 pm…

    No answer phone?

We do our best to answer each call in a timely manner. However, sometimes during a busy time at the restaurant it's possible the call will be missed. Please try us back in a few minutes!

Let's just say I was contemplating what dish I wanted to try next WHILE eating my meal- incredible and fresh! I ordered the Butifarra Sandwich, Lomo Saltado, and a PB&J Latte. Butifarra Sandwich: flavorful and super satisfying. It was tender and the bread was soft AND crunchy? Amazing. The yucca fries were a perfect accompaniment. Lomo Saltado: it just hit the spot. This felt like eating a home cooked meal in the very best way. Wholesome and flavorful and fresh! PB&J Latte: this was a cheeky choice for a weekend treat and I was NOT disappointed. Smooth and sweet without being overly sweet thoroughly impressed me. It was pure comfort in a cup. I've been dreaming about this restaurant since trying it for the first time.

It's truly a hidden gem. Once we sat down and placed our order, that's when the smell of the food started coming through, and it made the wait even more worth it. I ordered the pulled ham sandwich, and even though it sounds simple, the flavor and combination of everything, especially with the yuca fries, was really impressive. The spicy sauce they give on the side is also really good and ties everything together. My partner got the green chicken pasta (I can't remember the name), and that was just as delicious. Definitely something I'd order again. We also tried the arroz con leche coffee, which was amazing. I'll probably try it with caffeine next time since we came closer to closing for dinner. The space is ambient and spacious, and the staff were friendly and helpful when explaining the menu, which makes a big difference when you're not sure what to get. They also have free parking outside, it's handicap accessible, and there are restrooms available. One thing to note--it's a cashless place, so make sure to bring a card. I'm definitely coming back to try more of the menu.

We got their roast pork banh mi which was very delicious. It was savory and tender. Perfectly made. Lots of garnish as well. We also got their banh mi thit nuong which, as a classic banh mi option, would be something I'd definitely get again here as well. To top it off, we got their bo kho which is one of my childhood favorites. We came in with the plan on eating half of all the sandwiches and taking the rest home, but everything was so good that we ate everything at the restaurant lol. Service was very fast. Very professional. Presentation of the food was top tier (something you typically don't see at a banh mi establishment). Ambiance was a little noisy and busy. Lots of customers came in while we dined here. I can see why this place is poppin!

Drove from Gardena to pickup two sandwiches and I am satisfied! So the cashier was training I believe bc it said trainee on the receipt and I asked what the two most popular sandwiches were... she said classic and grilled pork .. so upon my research I read about crispy pork.. and she said that was also good... so I ended up getting crispy pork and grilled pork Crispy pork which I hope was crispy (heo quay) it says pork belly on the receipt and not crispy pork belly idk if that's different? But it doesn't matter bc it was SOOO GOOD, Creamy buttery soft and slightly crispy Then the grilled pork (thit nuong) was okay pork belly was way better. It had more of a savory bbq taste to it and that's about it... idk if the cashier was new and stressed bc it was busy but if this was the most popular I would not get it again lol. I will come back just for the crispy pork belly sandwich Bomb.. i just ate one whole sandwich and could probably kill another half...

Nonna has become our go to bakery, our sweet retreat, and one of our favorite local brunch spots. Now, they even have happy hour and, during the summer, dinner (Nonna Summer Nights)! And all of the food is amazing. Seriously, truly legit! We buy bread from there each week. No more "big box store" bread you freeze. They make their bread fresh daily. They only use fresh, locally sourced ingredients with no preservatives. It's nice to look at an ingredient list and not see a paragraph for bread (and be able to pronounce all the names!). And their cupcakes and sweets. Yo, seriously so good. And the thing is, because of the ingredients they use, we don't feel heavy or overly wired after eating cake or cupcakes from them. From other places you can tell they use preservatives, refined sugars, processed ingredients. But with Nonna, you can just taste the difference. We even had them make our special cake for our wedding! We recently tried their dinner (twice!) and it exceeded expectations. Now, mind you, all of their food has always been good but our experience was amazing. Their prix fixe menu was well put together, wine pairings on point, dessert was also delicious. Our favorite was the tiramisu! Also loved the spaghattini and casarecce pastas, and entrecôte di manzo, but everything was great. Their brunch is also great, you really can't go wrong on the menu. And I think we've gone through almost all of it! Finally, (if you've stayed with me this long!) the absolute best thing about Nonna for us is the TEAM. Hands down no question. The food is good, space is a comfortable neighborhood vibe, and all that. But truly the folks here are amazing humans. Always friendly, warm, and welcoming. If the management team is reading this, you all have a great group of people there! We will definitely be back (again and again and again) and you should too!

My qualm about Nonna's is this: Baked goods already purchased cannot be eaten at dining table. So with that said, you're eating Baked Eggs with 2 small slices of bread that is not enough...and they will not let you grab a piece of bread you just bought at their bakery to dip into the egg sauce. WTH is that logic???? Honestly, not cool. And their bread is HELLA EXPENSIVE. If I'm going to buy your expensive bread and pay to sit at your table, WHY CANT I EAT THE BREAD I JUST BOUGHT? Makes no sense!! So now I make my own Baked Eggs and my own bread. I can eat as much as I want. 4/5 for Baked Eggs 1/5 for their bakery policy
