5ive Spice on Mulberry was fantastic. The bánh mì was stellar, and the Vietnamese-inspired tacos were a creative and delicious surprise. Service was quick and kind. Come by if you are in the city, they have several locations.

What a delightful fusion treat ! Who would have thought to combine elements of a Bahn Mi and a taco?! I'm glad the folks at 5ive spice did because the results were delicious. The combination of fish sauce, salsa, and citrus were the perfect pairings of spice and umami and acid to brighten up the flavors folded into the tacos. The crisp veggies added and element of freshness that when put together, was truly outstanding. Service was quick and friendly. The inside of the restaurant is super inviting and they have the coolest bookshelf walk that doubles as the door that leads to the restroom.

Came here on a beautiful sunny Sunday. Was able to get a seat immediately even though it was very busy. I loved the rooster wings. They were so flavorful and fried to perfect crispyness. The 5ive special pho was really good today. Tender brisket and for some reason the broth was super spicy today. Service was good, kept our waters filled. No complaints here.

After a long day of shopping in Soho, my friends and I stopped here for a quick dinner to rejuvenate our shopping reserves. The food here was serviceable. I got the chicken banh mi and it was your run-of-the-mill banh mi. The bread had a good crunch and the chicken was seasoned well with that classic lemongrass flavor. The pickled vegetables lacked a lot of flavor and punch however. We got the pandan creme brulee for dessert which stole the show for me as the pandan flavor shined through. Not a bad spot but for this price, you could definitely find better elsewhere for cheaper.

Ordered lemon grass pork chop pho to go. Super cute tupperwear with their logo and custom design. Quick grab and go experience. Entered, went to the front, my food was ready, paid and left. Not too much lemon grass flavor in the lemon grass pork chop pho but it was good. The soup was my favorite part of this meal. Warm and cozy. Would probably revisit and try another pho option.

Satisfied my Vietnamese craving perfectly. Viet coffee was great-hit the spot and did its job. Got the shrimp spring rolls to split- a classic with tasty peanut sauce. The beef bún was great! I loved the cold & hot combination in the dish. Cold noodles and veggies with nice hot tender chunks of beef. Corn elote was great and up to the classic Mexican standard. Definitely stop by. It is a small restaurant!

I stopped by 5ive Spice for a quick bite with some friends and was really impressed with the food and atmosphere. I ordered the banh xeo shrimp and pork tacos ($14.50) and they were delicious and such a fun twist on traditional Vietnamese flavors. I am knocking off one star because I did find a small hair in my food, and the staff didn't seem particularly friendly or apologetic about it. It wasn't enough to ruin the meal, but it did make the experience a bit less enjoyable. Overall though, I'd definitely come back for the food alone -- super tasty, creative, and fresh!

5ive Spice offers excellent food at affordable prices. You have various options for how to enjoy your protein - whether in Vietnamese tacos, pho, over vermicelli noodles, with white rice, and more. Their lemongrass pork chops are a must-have dish. These are grilled boneless pork chops marinated in lemongrass and served with carrots, cucumber, and other toppings that made it an incredibly tasty combination. I ordered mine over vermicelli and found it to be a very satisfying meal. Overall, 4 stars.

I prefer ramen but my friend convinced me to give pho another try. I've been wanting to check this place out for a while anyway. It was the perfect meal for the cold we've been dealing with. The location was cute inside. It had mood lighting when the sun went down, nice wall art and this cool hidden bathroom wall. Let's get into the food. We ordered the pork and shrimp spring rolls, the 5 spice special and the short rib pho. Three words - TO DIE FOR! I absolutely loved it and will be back for another bowl. The broth was insanely good and there was a huge portion of food. The short rib was soooo good and they weren't stingy at all. I did order a side of chili oil which added that extra kick I wanted. I did take the vegetables from the spring rolls and add them into my soup, no shame. I was really pleased with my meal and happy I let her choose.

Really impressed with the quality of the pho and bun bo hue soup base. The bun bo hue has a fish base I think it might've even the fish sauce. But I really enjoyed the slight fish flavor, it added more depth to the soup. Nowadays a lot of pho places have bland or not flavorful soup. But the soup here was very flavorful and delicious. They were also really generous with the amount of meat given! My friend recommended this place so definitely was worth visiting.

There are very few places that have amazing pho in NYC. 5ive spice is not just one of them but they are at the top of our list for amazing pho in the city. Their pho is so rich and flavorful that you really don't even need to add anything. Their short beef rib is so fall off the bone tender. The beef tendons that my son normally doesn't love from other pho restaurants, he wants more of from here. I have asthma and I am sensitive to certain preservatives and too much msg usage etc, but I don't get any of that here. Just super fresh, delicious, and high quality food.

5ive Spice never disappoints! This is my first time at the Mulberry St location, and the food was just as delicious as every other 5ive Spice location I've been to! We went on an extremely busy Friday, but the service was very quick and friendly. The vibes were great and the ambiance was lively. I think this might be my favorite 5ive Spice location out of the three that I've been to!

Do we need reservation for 7 people?

Not necessarily. They can definitely accommodate larger groups without a reservation but depending upon the time of day, there may be a wait. We ate there with a group of 7 and we were lucky that they weren't too packed. To be sure that you're not…

Do you have an outside table for 6 people?

Yes we do, the max seating for outdoor is 8-10. But you might need to reserve the table ahead of time

Do you need proof of vaccination for both adults and kids?

    Not anymore, no

What areas of New York do you serve?

    Manhattan and Brooklyn.

Does the 5ive spice pho have any pork in it (either the meat or broth) or is it just beef?

Our 5ive Special Pho is completely pork product free

Is there any peanut free options?

Definitely alert the server to make sure. Plenty of the dishes are peanut free. I recommend the rooster wings, 5ive special pho, shaking beef, bahn mi sandwiches, brussel sprouts. Delicious! Enjoy :)

    Are there gluten-free options?

There are impressive GF options to choose from begining with starters like green mango salad with shrimp, shrimp chips with salsa, taro chips with Sirachi aioli, 3 variety of beef and short rib Pho noodle soup, beer battered fish or braised short…

Is the free dumplings check good for take out?

The check in offer is only going for dine in. Sorry

This location is convenient to Grand Central, Bryant Park, & Times Square. I was excited to find them after a getting off the Metro North. Unfortunately, the two times that I've eaten there hasn't been great, compared to their other locations in NoHo & Union Square. I'm not sure if the more touristy ambiance & customers makes a difference. First visit got the Pork Adobada Taco ($5-ish). It's similar to Al Pastor (even served with a few pieces of pineapple) but spicy. It's pork marinated in an adobo sauce made from dried red chiles (like guajillo or ancho), vinegar, garlic, and spices. The corn tortilla was very fresh & good but the pork was SO spicy. Some kind of chili oil was drizzled on, in, within, at the bottom. It comes with a sort of green crema. I barely finished - thought it was a joke or something. The second visit I got the Adobada (requested Zero spice) & a Chicken taco. The pork meat was delicious & reminded me of the first time I had Los Tacos No. 1. The chicken seemed like dark meat & was either over-marinated, slightly undercooked, or on its way out? resulting in weird mushy, slightly liver-like consistency. I even picked through the pieces to check for pinkness...the meat was just dark with little flavor. It came with a dollop of guacamole that didn't have much flavor. The corn tortillas also seemed slightly mealy/mushy & underdone. They weren't airy & slightly puffed as usual. I'll probably go back because their location and cost is convenient. But have to make sure the pork has No Spice & not sure how to ask for "done" tortillas. There's always a line at Los Tacos but it moves fast. The condiments & radishes, limes are always fresh. The staff is always pleasant & work quickly customizing your taco, wiping down the All White! hightops & refilling napkins. Don't think there's a restroom FYI.

We had our usual list of spots in Midtown East, but this time we wanted something a little different. We ultimately landed on Mexican, however even then there were several spots to chose from. One of my colleagues found CdM, and since we had nothing to lose we decided to check it out. In terms of physical space at CdM, there is very little; this is actually a walk-up spot hence it is solely a takeout restaurant. The menu is pretty straightforward - lots of Mexican staples with a good variety to choose from. The burrito bowl looked good so I decided to go with that - I was given choice of protein (I chose pastor) and types of beans (I chose black). The bowl was really good - all the ingredients tasted fresh and they were generous with the portion. They added sour cream to the top of the bowl and it came with a side of salsa verde which I thought was a nice touch. We also ordered some bags of tortilla chips to share - these were my favorite kind as they were semi-thick and super crunchy. Overall, I had a solid experience at Cinco de Mayo. It definitely hit the Mexican craving spot and I would have no qualms returning for another meal.

I managed to choose the two best-sounding items I could find, and honestly, they were so bland I don't even remember what they were. The setup and decor were basic. This spot could be a fun hangout, but it would take a better menu and staff who actually seem to care. I didn't see any but saw buckets for umbrellas. I opted not to leave it there since I didn't wanna forget or risk someone taking it. I took it upstairs with me. My friend had arrived and was seated. Apparently, they do offer sleeves because she got one. But the 3 people who were at the hostess booth failed to offer me one. The beautiful ambiance will get your attention immediately. It is a stunning space. The tableware was gorgeous as well. We waited for our last friend to arrive who was almost half an hour late before ordering (we thought she'd arrive sooner). Our server, Matias was gracious about it the whole time. What we ordered: Drinks: Passionfruit Margaritas & Mojito - we were happy with them. Tlayudas, Guacamole y Salsas - this was really good and a great option for the table to share. The homemade chips alone were excellent. Liked all the different dips. Guac could've used some cilantro and more acid/spice. Tán Ceviche - I loved this. Super fresh and great flavor. Could use a touch of acid. My entree was the Shrimp & Crab Enchiladas - This was pretty good. The sauce could've used some spice and some acid to cut through the richness. My friend ordered the Yellow Corn Soup as part of her meal and she did not like it. She said it was too sweet which I thought was strange. I tried a spoonful and I agreed with her. It needed a savory note and again, acid would've done wonders. Also, the crab was a bit fishy in this. She enjoyed her tamal though. I tried a touch of the sauce and it was delish. My other friend had the Quesabirria which she was also happy with. To sum up: Ambiance: 5/5 The space is undoubtedly gorgeous. Food: 4/5 Beautiful presentation on everything but each dish lacks an element or two to make it a home run. Staff: Wait staff 5/5. Downstairs staff (greeters/hostess) 4/5. Needs to be more on point like offering customers sleeves for umbrellas or pointing out the buckets to put them in. At some point through our entrees a group of 3 women were doing a 10-minute photo shoot by the stairway where our table was. Absolutely inappropriate behavior and a manager should've stopped it. Camera flashes all up in our faces while we're eating wasn't cool. Overall, still a great elevated Mexican cuisine option. The slight tweaks would make this a 5 star place for me. I'd return to try more things.

Personally, if it wasn't for the drinks and the space, I cant say this place is worth it - you're not coming here for the food. Another little complaint I have is the women's restroom on the second floor - right by the door is a floor to ceiling mirror which I understand was included to make the space seem bigger, but my friends and I agreed that it is a little misleading - I kept wanting to walk into it thinking there was more space there and not wall.
