My sandwich bagel tasted nothing but burnt. Had no flavor in any two of my sandwiches. The strawberry Italian soda tasted like pink sparkling water on ice. This place is not a recommend place. This was our first visit and it is an adorable little bagel house, you have an amazing welcome crew when you walk in the door, beautiful husband and wife with an amazing family member that handles all of your coffee drinks and smoothies. My husband and I coming home from church grabbed a quick bagel. It was called the works. It was so heavily showered with all of the amazement that the works includes. We got it toasted with the amazing fresh homemade cream cheese chive and then we got a side of tomatoes and extra crispy bacon we can't say enough, the experience and the item that we enjoyed was absolutely delightful. I recently moved to Upland and have been looking for a place with great bagels. I found it! Bagels are always fresh. My two favorites are - works bagel with chive cream cheese and the bacon, egg and cheese on a jalapeño bagel. The drip coffee options are great and always hot. The constant foot traffic and amount of phone orders being placed says a lot about their food and service. Staff is always personable and a pleasure to deal with. The lady behind the counter took time to explain the menu and different types of coffees they sell. The place is small but has a good amount of seating. We tried 2 bagels, one onion and one spinach, both with jalapeño cream cheese. The bagels were soft and toasty with a good amount of cream cheese. I came here for breakfast this morning. They opened at 6am and I was the first customer. There's plenty of parking at this plaza so that was not a problem. As soon as I walked in I was welcomed. The bagels are in the display case so you can see all the different kinds they offer. There is some tables inside as well as outside. I ordered the Turkey & Bacon sandwich with the jalapeño cheese bagel and the house iced coffee. There were some croissants and danishes that were hot out of the oven so I couldn't help myself and got one chocolate and one apple for later. My total came out to $19.63. I had my dog with me so I ate outside. The sandwich was so good. The bagel was warm with a slight crunch but the inside was soft. Really awesome customer service. The iced coffee was also fabulous. The menu says $1.99 and has all bagels listed under. we were charged $4.79 for a bagel that was under the $1.99 mark for just simply adding the cream cheese and another 50 cents for it being a bagel with a topping. There was no clarity on the menu and when asked he pointed at a paper that was folded on the wall that prevented you from seeing his "50 cent charge" and insulted us for asking what exactly we were being charged for. I saw that they have a great selection of self-serve drip coffee that i will have to try next time. I ordered the rainbow bagel toasted with a veggie cream cheese spread and it was all tasty. The veggie cream cheese had a very light flavor and texture. I also ordered a bagel sandwich for lunch, a roast beef on a jalapeño cheese bagel and it was a great lunch option. Behind the counter, he led with kindness and took necessary actions. I didn't have any issues with my order but, whatever issues prior reviews mentioned, will be corrected in due time. I wish the best for this small business. Taste: Bagels are great -- flavor profile of desired option comes through without the doughy taste of the bagel. I'm comparing this to the NJ/NY bagel places I grew up on which probably isn't fair... but this is my honest review. I tasted 2 bagels. I had poppy seed with veggie cream cheese and bacon egg and cheese on a "works" bagel (what they call an everything bagel) Traditionally, you don't toast the bagels when they're fresh. Poppy seed bagel was toasted. It had a nice texture but I was hoping for that classic chew of a NY bagel. Still, it was fine. The veggie cream cheese had no flavor. Personally, I like nice chunks of veggie. This cream cheese barely had the essence of veggie. Bacon egg and cheese bagel was bland. This bagel didn't seem toasted but it could've gotten soggy. Egg was microwaved scrambled egg... bland. Bacon was fine. Cheese was cheddar... in a NY bagel shop it's always American unless you ask for something else. It was missing the saltiness of American cheese. When you walk in you see 4 microwaves lined up, that should've been my first clue that this wasn't going to be the best. All in all, it wasn't offensive. I'd eat there if I was getting bloodwork next door at Quest again. It's a better option than Del Taco. Bagels are not NY bagels as advertised. We ordered the pizza bagel and the maple honey ham on the works bagel. The pizza was a no go. It is pictured on the menu with an abundance of mozzarella cheese but it's served with a cheddar / mozzarella shredded cheese. Won't be having that again. The ham bagel was delicious. It had a good amount of ham, jalapeños and sprouts, the works bagel was very tasty. The owner seemed to be rushing me as it was our first time it took a second to look over the menu. Otherwise he was very polite. Must've been having an off day so I won't knock him for that. There are 2 2 person tables inside and 4 small tables outside which was super cute. I've passed by a few times and noticed that they are now open (soft opening). I decided to give them a try as they seem to suggest they are NYC style bagels based on their name. I've traveled to New York and I am very familiar with New York bagels. I ordered the 5th Ave bagel which is any bagel served with lox, cream cheese, red onions, tomatoes and capers. I chose the everything bagel which they call the works. It is served open faced and I paid almost $11.00. Once I got home, I was really looking forward to this special treat as I watch my carb intake and only eat bagels when I know they are totally worth it. I took my first bite and boy was that bagel salty!! I don't know if the mix that they use for the works bagel is store-bought or they make their own but it was too salty to enjoy and I'm someone who loves to put salt in all my food! I scraped off as much of the everything mix as I could so I could enjoy the rest of the bagel. On my second bite I bit into a salmon bone! The lox is not thinly sliced as it should be, but rather 2 thick pieces of what I would imagine is store bought salmon. I bit into another bone a few bites later. These bones are very thin and are a serious choking hazard. The bagel was still too salty and I threw away the rest. It was a total waste of money. I tried calling the store to give them my feedback but the phone didn't even ring and went straight to voicemail. I didn't try anything else there so I can't speak to the quality and taste of other items. I can say that the bagel sizes are inconsistent and the baker doesn't know how to properly lock the bagels. Some looked like they were pinched together and the shapes were all over the place. I know they are new so I hope they make positive changes before they lose business. These bagel are certainly not NYC style and can't even compare to real NY bagels like Utopia and Ess-a-bagel. My search continues for a really great bagel with lox... read more

I found 5th Ave Bagelry while driving through the parking lot. I had no idea they were there. And I'm sure glad that I did because the bagels were excellent. I'm a big bagel and lox fan and they did not disappoint. Lox was fresh and tasty and the bagel was light and airy and tasty.
