Since we are in the area, we stopped by to check if they have our favorite Coffee Cake. Instead they have the Double Chocolate Chip Cake. It was much better. Fresh, moist, and delicious. It paired well with my McDonald's coffee. This store is good enough to accommodate a few people shopping. They have the usual basic stuff - chips, water, beers and other things. Boy just stands there watching and talking to her and is literally wearing a name tag the says "i dont work here". When we walked in they both said they were closed it was 6pm they thought they were being funny. Tried using AIR pump to fill up my tires yesterday. The HOSE has a hole in it, TAPED with black electric tape around the HOLE/HOLES and it is still in service!!! therefore, instead of filling up my tire with air, the hose drained/bled air OUT of the tire!!!! Oh my god!!! When I walked up to the counter to tell them that, the older lady behind the counter tried telling me I was the "only and first one to mention the hole in the hose and the fact that it bled air out of my tire" REALLY????? LIAR!!! There is a tape over it! You knew about the hose!! How hard is it to put a OUT of SERVICE sign and replace the hose??? Left with less Air pressure in the tire than before. So frustrating! The auto-shop I had to stop at, KNEW right away 7-11 air pump bled air out of tires. Wow. FIX the AIR PUMP, stop putting us in danger and waste out time!!! read more

I recently moved to Big Bear, and live near by, so this was my go to place on multiple trips here, for gas, ice, coffee, snacks, etc., and it remains so. I'm a night owl so most of my visits have been in the wee hours of the morning. On the couple of day visits, I received fine service from an older fellow who was friendly and helpful with directions (though he told me 330 was a better route than 38, a sentiment with which, after many trips, I don't agree. On one trip I had car trouble and had to be towed back to Huntington Beach and the AAA tow truck driver, a BB local, told me that UPS, delivery people, locals, etc. prefer 38, more direct and faster. I've yet to travel in inclement weather, so maybe that will have some bearing on it, I don't know). Anyway, I mainly wanted to attest to the fact that the young man who works on graveyard is always working his butt off every time I visit. He's polite and helpful but not overly chatty, intent on his work. On my last visit I mentioned in passing that no-one seems to carry organic American Spirit cigarettes anymore (in the red pack), and he explained that they'd changed the color of the packs, actually have two kinds of organic cigarettes, both full flavor and light (yellow pack), both of which they carry. (I know, I need to quit smoking but until I can, at least I can avoid pesticides.) Anyway he was knowledgeable and helpful, many others would've just said "Oh, really?" or nothing at all. So I appreciated that very much. As an aside, from reading the negative reviews, in my experience shitty customer service usually stems from management that doesn't appreciate their employees and reward them for a job well-done. I saw an Undercover Boss episode in which the CEO of Southland Corp. went to the most profitable 7-11 in the country, in Florida. The manager was an older woman who had dialysis four days a week. She knew her customers' names, their likes and dislikes, etc., and customers and employees alike said it was a welcoming place, like a second home, because she cared about everyone. Don't buy any lotto here, their machine messed up my two mega millions tickets and claimed I filled it out incorrectly. Couldn't refund me or redo my tickets. I picked a set of numbers and selected 5 advanced plays and another set of QP with 5 advanced plays as well and their machine completely missed the advanced plays. The only thing the guy worker could say was you filled out incorrectly. I asked how and he couldn't elaborate. "I don't know" was his only response. Very upsetting as I can't even fill out a new form with the same set of numbers because I'll end up getting duplicate play with the same numbers. One of their pumps were broken and didn't have a sign on it either. This 7-11 is not maintained and I would not recommend this place to anyone coming into Big Bear. They basically have the cheapest gas so I guess they'll stay in business that way. California Lotto should remove them from being a lotto retailer. read more

I am a local of Big Bear. I am a huge supporter of local businesses and I am generally very accepting even when service is bad...but I just can not let this slide. Wednesday morning we came to 7eleven for gas, coffee, and chapstick for my 8 year old son. We were departing for his very first visit to Disneyland. I gave him the money to try going to a cashier all on his own...like a big boy...per his very sweet request. Together he and I verified the price per the tag over the entire row of chapstick - $1.79 - Please see picture. I gave him two dollars and he went to the cashier while I went to get a cup of coffee. In moments I hear the female cashier YELL at him "it's $3.19!!" and then she yelled it again! At that moment I sent my daughter to go assist because clearly she was mistaken - I had verified the price myself - and why was she yelling at my son?? My daughter comes back and says she thinks the price tag is wrong...so of course we give my son the additional funds - even thought State Law says she should have price matched. What really matters to me is how she treated my little boy. I was so bothered I took pictures. When I did a man behind the counter moaned and said "REAAALLY" at me. When I asked if he worked at 7eleven he said "no" - when I asked his name he refused to give it to me and smirked at me... I was so shocked I stared at him and he laughed at me and said "can I help you?". I am pretty sure he does work there because he was behind the counter -- or that it is outside of policy for him to have been there if he was not a employee. (Please see picture of this man and the woman who yelled at my son.) It is my full intent to follow through with this to the highest authority - including contacting the 7eleven franchise to see if this is up to their standard - as well as the Owner of this store - who also owns a Subway in town to my knowledge. The gas pumps work poorly and the air machine has 7-11 on it but they say they have nothing to do with it and when it did not work and actually let all the air out of our tires, the chain smoking manager told us to call the 800 number and maybe we will get our money back by mail. This place completely ripped me off. I believe they are running a phone card scam and playing dumb to steal money. I bought a phone card, the lady threw the phone card away and said you don't need it anymore because there's so much fraud. She said all I needed was the receipt. I got home and there was nothing i could do with the receipt, I went back to the store and the lady said the lady who rang me up had no idea what she was doing and threw away the part of the receipt I needed. We asked him about some of the local establishments (seeing as we were tourists) but he totally dismissed us and acted as if he couldn't hear. Conveniently located right below Snow Summit on Big Bear Blvd. They have a large variety of goods here, gas prices are reflective of being in a small mountain town like Big Bear. I always buy cigarettes from 7-Eleven because they usually have $.75 off Camel packs as well as offering discounted pricing on two packs or more. I grabbed two donuts for $.99 when I visited recently, they were OK at best, but I wouldn't expect much better from a gas station unless maybe they had Krispy Kreme boxes, but that's rare and you would pay a higher price. I didn't get gas since I drive a diesel and 7-Elevesn rarely offers diesel (can't think if I've ever seen diesel at one before). I went into this store today to get some coffee and water. There was an ad up for Fuji 2 for $4. Got to the counter and rung up and the price didn't seem right after I swiped my card. I asked the guy ringing me up if the Fuji was 2 for 4 and he said that deal was done a long time ago. I told him the ad was still up. He went and checked and then came and tried to give me a receipt. I told him to refund the water if it wasn't $4 and he was very rude while issuing the refund. I will always go to the 7-11 down the street now. When an ad is up you give that price and don't give your customer attitude when you don't give them the price they are expecting. read more

I went to this location on 12-27 and 12-29 of 2014 around 10:30 at night. The cashier was the best guy ever. He helped us get fresh chili and cheese for our nachos and was willing to do whatever he could to make us happy. He was clearly busy and knew we were from out of town for the weekend. Still, he was pleasant and helpful beyond what we could have expected. If you own this 7-11 and you're reading this, your cashier is the best. I'd hire him in a heartbeat because he possesses the right attitude and effort. I will always have a positive memory of this trip in large part due to his excellent customer service. read more

This 7-11 is on the corner at the traffic light, real easy to get in and out of the parking lot. Definitely prefer this 7-11 over the older one because this one has a great Slurpee and soft drink selection and public bathrooms. Plus its real near the ski runs so super convenient for those snacks after you ski all day. read more
