One of the keys to our honda had cracked and esperares from the control. We had called ace hardware and a few other places that stated they didn't have the key or were waaay over what we had in mind to pay as we decided to just get two new keys due to the spare being catches as well. He let us know he could make us a new key with the control or a plain key which would be cheaper and that made us feel better and he wasn't just trying to make more money off of us. He was happy to help and showed up very fast even though we said there was no rush and we would be at home all day anyways. All in all, terrible. This place has a great reputation but I had a bad experience. I bought a car yesterday and it's a '78 so needless to say it has some issues. One of them is that the key can turn the ignition and lock the door but it can't unlock it. I talked to a man at the number listed on yelp and he said they could only unlock cars today not do any lock repair. I said that's fine, so he said 45 minutes until his tech arrives. The tech was about a good 30 minutes late. I asked if I could pay by credit and it's cash only (something I would have liked to have heard in the first call.) The tech unlocked my car quickly and then also offered to fix the lock for an additional charge. I said OK and he fiddled with my car for about 40 minutes. He then said he couldn't fix the lock. I said fine and I assumed he was just going to put the door back together. About 10 minutes later he tells me he broke my key. By now I am pissed. I sat outside with him about an hour to not fix my lock and break my key. I'm almost in worse shape than when he first arrived. He says he'll cut a new key from the shop and will be back in 35 minutes. I'm sitting here wondering if he's just going to run off with the key and never come back for whatever reason. About an hour later he comes back and hands me the new key. He points to the door and says it works now. I'm a little confused because I didn't think he fixed the lock. The door was left unlocked so I checked the key in the ignition and it turned fine. I close the door and put the key in the car door and asked "it's fixed?" He says "yeah." So I lock the door. When I try to unlock it doesn't work. He asked why I did that. I told him because he told me "it works." He slim jims my car again and is off to satisfy his next happy customer. I'll put this positive note out there. The guy who seemed to be managing the tech from the listed phone number got me $10 off the original price to open the car. I appreciated the gesture but overall this was a terrible experience. If you can get a hold of another lock smith go with them. read more
