Never have I ever been serviced so much bulgolgi for such a good price. The meat also wasn't too salty. The bibimbap was amazing as well. Huge bowl with a lot of meat and veggies and not just rice. I walked in to the restaurant around 3:15pm for lunch on a Thursday and it was empty. There were 2 groups of people beside me. I was seated right away and water brought out within 5 mins. The store is filled with cute drawings, which caught my eyes. It took the waiter 15 mins to just take my order and she was the only one working and helping everyone. However the food comes out prob within 10 mins, it was decent amount of time. I love the side dishes that they gave me. I ordered a beef tofu soup and it was boiling, which what I liked when it came out. As for the taste, they put too much spices in the soup but it's not enough savory flavor compared to the spices. It was not spicy, but a little bit plain for my taste. I asked for refills of my side dishes and the waiter told me they only refill it once. It was weird and kinda pissed me off because I ate at many Korean restaurants and unlimited refills of the side dishes are like the norm. It's the whole point of Korean food. However, the waiter did notice I was annoyed and unhappy when she asked me about how's everything, so she offered to give me the side dishes that I like. That made up for it. This spot is good for post-HH or some time later that night. Usually, many places serve salty, or spicy, or greasy foods when you're in a drunken-buzzed state. Here though, even if you haven't been drinking the food is pretty good. I cannot vouch for to-go orders, lol, but the eat-ins have always been good. They have most of the Korean mainstays so you're good whatever you're used to. We normally get an appetizer, a noodle soup or jap chae, and an entree. Plus, their casserole soup (budae jigae for example) is huge. Be careful when ordering one of those if have less than 4 people! Usually k-pop music videos are projected on a large screen, which fills up one of the wall. While loud inside it is still bearable because the place is spacious - tables are spread out and with a high ceiling. After 4th of July fireworks which was a disappointment due to the fog, our group of 7 decided to grab some late night food before heading home. This is certainly a good choice for late night food as the ambience is pretty modern and the food is not outstanding. For not too high quality ingredients used in most of the dishes, the dishes here are on the pricy side, though it can be easily split among multiple people. The soy sauce ttok bok ki with beef is mediocre at best, as the rice cake is more mushy and sticky than chewy. There is just not really that much flavor there if it weren't for the onions within the dish. The fried chicken wings with spicy sauce is okay, as the batter is not really crispy. In most other places like Bonchon in Berkeley and Chi Mac in Seattle, the chicken is still really crispy even with the sauce, so I have this expectation for this dish as well. The assorted spam and sausage stew is nothing special and not worth the $28. It is more spicy than it was flavorful. Besides, only one block of instant noodles was used, which is definitely not going to be filling. The pork belly is above average, as I expected them to use cheap meat that is mostly tough. The pork belly is actually pretty tender and soft, with just the right amount of fat. Dip into the sauces to get the most flavor, and wrap the lettuce around the pork belly to eat it a different way. However, it is definitely not the best I have tried, as Kin Khao and Nyum Bai are leagues ahead in their pork belly preparation. The corn cheese is not that great. In general, it is pretty creamy and slightly sweet. Here, however, the cheese is just American cheese and the corn is just way too sweet to be a side dish. In a fizzy drizzling evening, a hot soup base dish would totally warm up the chilly night. The seafood du bu ($11) was piping hot and you can see big bubbles bubbling up. This is one of my Korean favourite dishes. The broth was excellently spicy heavy and can make one drip sweat. The taste was very flavorful and the bowl was filled with lots of tofu, mostly squids and a couple shrimps. Was hoping to find a couple other items though. They also serve beer, sake and flavoured soju drinks but had not tried any at this visit. There is a projector playing K-pop MTV on the wide wall with GREAT sappy love songs playing that were not too loud, just enough as a background. The place is spacious with dim light. Service was very friendly though a bit slow but not too bad. They have a projector playing from the wall. Korean music blasted with music videos you can watch. All the times I've came here, I've encountered different servers and each and every one of them are really nice and polite. Customer service to me is a biggie. Who would want somebody to serve you with such negativity right? Not only there service is on point, but there food and drinks! Every time I'm here, I always order a jug of yogurt soju. Of all my SF reviews, I don't think I've recommended a single korean restaurant (Because there haven't been any TO recommend)...until now. My friend said that she was in the mood for korean soup, so we came here. Little did I know, it was like her third time here this week. She is ADDICTED!!! We came in on a Thursday night and were seated immediately. The place was relatively full, which is a good sign. We started with the complementary tray of 5 banchans (I was not impressed). Since my friend was now "a regular", I let her take over on the ordering. We shared the seafood pancake (ok this was AMAZING). It was under the "Small plates" section, but it's huge and filling. We then split a bowl of soup with roe and tofu (lots of flavor, kind of spicy). The food did take awhile to come out, but in the meantime I admit that we watched the k-pop videos on the wall :) All in all, this was a filling meal for $16 each including tax and tip. It's pretty big, so you want to go with a group (serves about 4 for a bowl of soup). Another must have is the Cheese Corn. If you haven't tried it yet you're missing out. Brown sugar, cheese, all melted over corn served on a sizzling platter. It's a crowd-pleaser. Ambiance: The staff, food, and music give off the vibe of a busy Seoul street cafe, but the restaurant's facade feels more like a office space converted into a dining area. Don't worry, you'll quickly forget about the tile floors and honeycomb ceiling once you're 3 rounds in. The place has open seating, which is pretty much first come first serve (fill out a white board wait list). They have groups of small black tables that can be joined together to form seating for larger parties. I typically go on Fridays, which are packed if you show up late. Expect waiting at least 30 minutes if you have a large group. It's not uncommon for the floor to erupt into boisterous laughs and clanking of glasses as parties toast the night away. In the background is kpop music blazing through small speakers and a giant projection of music videos on the side wall. Service: The wait staff is super friendly and as attentive as they can be considering the number of tables they are waiting on, however, you might find yourself wandering up to the front desk to order a few rounds of drinks from time to time. Pro tip(s): as soon as you get seated, figure out what the group wants to eat, and have one person order for the entire table (including drinks). Rely on the same person to place the subsequent drink orders. I find food/drinks come out much faster if the server only has to deal with one person. Set your group up with 2 or 3 rounds of drinks in advance so you give the staff plenty of time to catch up. Huh, well, I've obviously forgotten to review 707 because I've been rather drunk almost every time I've come here. Alcohol has a way of making one's memory a little fuzzy and all. ANYWAY, having been here a number of times already, and having tried a variety of things, including their budae jigae, jap chae, and kimchi fried rice, I'll say that, while it's not GREAT Korean food, it's pretty solid, especially for anything on this side of the city. The waitstaff is pretty friendly, and I've yet to see the place packed, which is especially nice when you're drunk and starving. As others have mentioned, one of the walls is used as a giant screen for a steady stream of K-pop videos, so love or hate it as you will. A girlfriend and I missed a bus back to Sac and had to wait until 1AM and really really wanted soup to combat the cold. The menu looked good, prices were fair and they had all the Korean classics I'm used to. I got the spicy seafood soft tofu soup and my friend got a type of clear broth dumpling soup dish. While we were waiting, yummy banchan were brought out for us to munch on while watching K-pop videos projected on the wall. My soup came boiling hot and included an egg for me to crack myself, how fun! It was so delicious, and perfect to SF weather. My friend said her soup had so many dumplings! So off we go around 1230am, because I had just gotten off work, and there were only a few parties there. We were seated immediately and were given the menu. Since as I mentioned earlier, it was our first time there, we turned to Yelp to give us advise on what to order. Based on this, we ordered the seafood tofu soup for $11 (seafood soon doo bu) - this was DELICIOUS. I was craving korean tofu soup, and I loved the flavor of 707's soup: spicy but not unbearably spicy. The pieces of seafood were perfect, and I appreciated that they used peeled, deveined shrimp - because I have had this soup with shrimp still completely in shell and it was not a fun experience. In addition to this, we also had the kimchi fried rice for $10 - delicious! We also ordered the yogurt soju (small for $15) and the fried chicken wings half and half (regular fried chicken and the house special sauce - 10 pieces x $14) - this we could've passed on, it was the least impressive fried chicken I'd ever had. The regular fried chicken was dry and flavorless - literally just salt and pepper. The house special sauce was too tart and not at all spicy, we literally tried one of each wing and took it to go. Last but not least we loved the yogurt soju! It tasted like yakult with the right mix of alcohol and yogurt - not too sugary! All in all, we had a good time. The k-pop music videos playing on a screen on the wall were very amusing and some of the songs made us pull out our phones and shazam them! The tables are spread out very nicely (unlike other Korean restaurants where you're literally elbow-to-elbow w/ other patrons) with a nice open space.The restaurant got insanely busy right after we arrived, and the servers got a little busy, but we didn't hold this against them. I would definitely come back for the soup, soju and the rice, but skip on the chicken wings! read more

Welcome to the neighborhood! One day while walking home from the gym, I noticed a new snazzy sign "707 Sutter" with a hanging sign that indicated it is a Korean restaurant. Bing! Instant smile on my face as I have been waiting for a good, local Korean place within blocks of home. Yay! I couldn't wait to tell my bf when I got home. I went online and read other reviews and was instantly curious! So, we went to check it out for ourselves last night! It's got a cool, young vibe and it is nicely modernized with awesome music videos projected on one wall while you dine. Service welcomed us and were so friendly! We ordered the beef tofu soup and the bbq chicken. The tofu soup was perfect and comforting for a drizzly SF night, and the bbq chicken was flavorful and tender. We love banchan (side dishes brought to you before your main meal), and enjoyed ours here. We were instantly impressed with 707 Sutter and already thinking about our next meal here! :) Can't wait! read more

This place is awesome! Love the atmosphere - there were a lot of young people (good for large groups) and they project Korean music videos on the wall. It's great they close super late too! Service was quick and friendly. Banchan here is okay, I noticed we didn't get the complimentary cheesy corn as some reviews mentioned. Ordered the kimchi fried rice with beef ($10) and my boyfriend got the tofu soup with beef ($10). The kimchi fried rice was SO GOOD! The flavor was perfect and loved the egg on top. The dish also came with some salad with this amazing mayonnaise dressing. It was fairly spicy. The tofu soup was super spicy I actually could barely handle it without downing several gallons of water but my boyfriend loved it. Overall highly recommend the kimchi fried rice! I am not sure why this place is so highly rated. To be honest I don't think a lot of the dishes are authentically Korean and/or they are just poorly made I ordered the "spice brisket soup" which I think is meant to be yukgaejang. It came without key ingredients like the gosari (fernbake fiddleheads) noodles, and I think I only had half an egg. Actual soup to contents ratio was way off. I'm not nitpicking I received a huge bowl of actual soup and barely any of the actual ingredients. It was basically a huge bowl of just spicy water with nothing else in it. Did they just decide to give me all the soup left in the pot and call it a day? This is a standard Korean item and they couldn't even get that right. read more

Strongly not recommend,we've waited here for 40+ minutes but still can't have the meal. ONLY 1 waiter in the restaurant when the hall have 8 tables 30 people are waiting for service or placing the order. My friend found there is ONLY 1 cook in the kitchen when we were waiting! I don't know why there is no more waiter or cook in this restaurant, maybe they just want to make us starve enough to feel the "delicious" food. Personally I don't think you will enjoy meal here. read more

I had high hopes because of the Yelp ratings but I should have really known better, especially when it comes to Korean food in SF. The banchan was measly and they only gave us 4. WTF? We ordered: kalbi - burnt. the chicken wings - a-ok. we got half of them spicy and half not. i think they just use a mild gochujang steamed egg - didn't try but my friends said it was whatever. kimchi jigae - WAY TOO DAMN SALTY. We poured water into it to dissolve some of the salt but it didn't really help. This pretty much went untouched. chicken gizzard skewers. I liked these but they were not evenly cooked. creamy dokkbokki - the only good thing we had. loved the semi sweet/tangy creamy sauce it came in. All in all, if you're in the area I guess it's an okay place to stop, grab a drink or two and nosh on food. It's open late. But otherwise I wouldn't make it a destination. read more
