    Honey Walnut Shrimp
    Laura B.

A second review in two years -- and still a solid favorite. This has been my neighborhood Chinese-Hawaiian go-to for about four years now, and they never disappoint. I usually stop by every other month, and on this first rainy, cold day of fall, with nothing in the fridge and zero desire to cook or dine out... it was definitely take-out time. I ordered honey walnut shrimp, crab rangoons, and wonton soup. (They offer a little incentive if you post a photo -- let's see if I get it! ) When I picked up the food, the owner recognized me right away. He's always friendly, and everything was packed perfectly: utensils, condiments, and plenty of napkins. He even told me about their homemade chili sauce, which is so popular they sell it by the jar. I eat mild spice, but my daughter eats straight fire -- she tried the sample and immediately approved. Back home, eating our food in front of the fireplace while watching our favorite show... it made for the perfect cozy evening. And the best part? The kitchen stayed clean. Highly recommend this spot -- it's consistently good and always reliable.

808 Cafe gives you a real welcome the moment you walk in. The man who greeted me, who seemed to be the owner, set the tone right away. His hospitality stood out. He explained that my pork and shrimp dumplings would take about 20 minutes because they are made fresh. I appreciated the clarity. I watched him greet another guest who looked like a regular. The way he cared for her showed how he treats people who walk in. His interactions felt genuine and warm. The menu impressed me. You get many options, which matters if you like variety. My experience here felt inviting before my food even arrived. I look forward to coming back.

    Mochiko Chicken

Found this place on Yelp and so glad that we did!! My family and I visited 808 on a Saturday evening (around 4:30/5) to grab an early dinner. We were welcomed and sat immediately. The staff and especially the owner were very hospitable and helpful in ordering and just with everything. We ordered way too many dishes and the plates were huge, but we love leftovers so it was fine haha. We got the mochicko chicken, garlic miso chicken, loco moco, green beans, and siu mai (please note this takes about 20min so you'll get after your mains come out). Everything is made in house and to order and it was all so good. The gravy on the loco moco was probably the best we've had in Vegas (highly recommend). The siu mai was delicious and the filling was FILLED. Their house made chili sauce was SO GOOD. If you can handle spice (even though it wasn't super spicy), definitely try this!! The interior is simple, but mindfully decorated. Very clean. We will definitely be back!!

This is a Chinese/Hawaiian restaurant. The owner is Chinese from Hawaii. There's a lot of selection from their menu. We opted for Tofu and shrimp today for lunch. The flavor is right and not salty and the shrimp tasted fresh and they didn't over cook the broccoli. A lot of tables. This restaurant is situated next to a Mexican grocery store. I hope this restaurant succeeds as they are nice people and they have good food.

WOW!!! This place is insanely good! Just did a random search on yelp and found it. We ordered the soy garlic shrimp and the seafood laksa, which is better than my 2 favorite spots to get laksa in LA, the flavor was so deep and it was so hearty! The garlic shrimp was perfectly crisp, also insanely flavorful, and you can eat the entire thing! New must go to place for me now when in Vegas. Very friendly waiter too!

Dumplings in Red Oil (take out)

I was at an appointment and wanted to pick up some takeout; so went on Yelp to see what was in the area. I decided on 808 Cafe. A nice man greeted me as soon as I walked in the door. I asked to see a menu and he asked if I was ordering takeout. When I said yes, he said to have a seat and motioned to a chair near the counter and gave me a menu and said to let him know if I had any questions- super nice. The menu has a mixture of Hawaiian, Chinese, and Japanese items. I decided on the Dumplings in Red Oil, BBQ Pork Fried Rice, and a Thai Tea. Last minute I got a side of the Macaroni Salad because several Yelpers said how good it was. He asked if I wanted Jelly in the Thai Tea so I said sure, why not. The restaurant is very clean and inviting with nice, simple decor. I went around 3pm on. Wednesday and it wasn't busy, just one other table but looked like other takeout orders. He brought my drink out as I waited. The Thai Tea with Coffee Jelly was delicious, exactly what I wanted. My order was ready timely and he asked if I wanted Chili Oil, which I did and he informed me utensils and napkins were in the bag. The food was amazing. I absolutely loved the Dumplings in Red Oil, it has so much flavor. Just looking at them made my mouth water. The fried rice was delicious, again great flavor. The Mac Salad was great. I definitely will be back to try some Entrees and/or other items. Located on the corner of Buffalo and Flamingo, in the Smith's Shopping Center with lots of parking.

Great tasty meal, awesome quantity and quality! I decided to sit down and eat, and they have table service. Very friendly service and a check up on you in the dining room is nice and quiet and clean..!!!

The food was fresh out the kitchen! Nice and steamy and FLAVORFUL. The service was amazing. Always refilled water. Wait wasn't bad at all! The music they played was classics so it was pleasant. I like their posters about food is cooked with love and it DEFINITELY SHOWS. They even pack the food for you when you're done to go. AMAZING service. My daughter and I will definitely come again and we recommend if you like good food WithOUT MSG. Come here!

This restaurant has been around for quite some time and its a shame that the place is not busy. We enjoyed everything we ordered : Thai iced tea with coffee jelly - not the usual powdered drink. They use freshly brewed tea Lemon with honey - so refreshing and not too sweet Dumpling in red oil - must try (with their housemade chili oil) Salt & pepper wings - my fave appetizer Honey garlic porkchop - sweet & salty Soy sauce garlic shrimp - glad we ordered this. With head and shell but crunchy so everything can be eaten Hong Kong Style Pan Fried Noodle with bbq pork - a classic dish done well Golden garlic chicken fried rice - reminds hubby of his childhood They don't use MSG on their dishes Can't wait to try the other dishes

Delicious food! We ordered take out from the place and is was quick service. Our favorite was the eggplant tofu. The sauce it comes in can be slathered on rice and eaten as is. The other dishes - stir fry veggies and the fried noodles were good as well! Standard and good if you're craving it!

They do everything so well here. This place is our go to restaurant for chinese/vietnamese/southeast Asian dishes.

I love this place so much. It's a small family ran business that serves Hawaiian fusion. I've been here multiple times and each time the owner has been so friendly. I want to try everything here. The restaurant is very clean. That being said, I came here with my brother a month ago and tried the mochiko chicken. It was so juicy and the potion is generous. Everything is made to order. I also came with my vegan friends and they were very accommodating. I had the salt and pepper tofu and it's was genuinely on of the best tofus I've had. So crispy. Definitely try this spot. You won't be disappointed! Tell them I sent you!

    Loco moco

FANTASTIC! Saw a post on FB about how good the salt & pepper fish filets were here so of course I jumped on Yelp to check them out. Turns out I had it bookmarked but forgot about it. Ordered chicken fried rice (5/5), beef chow fun (5/5), shu mai (10/5), the s&p fish filets (5/5) and the loco moco for takeout. Phone ordering was smooth and the gentleman taking the order was very nice and efficient. Husband got to the location earlier than he thought so the food wasn't ready yet, for which the server apologized for, but not necessary as husband was early. We thoroughly enjoyed everything. The loco moco would be a skip for me next time, as the gravy had a different taste than I'm used to, but the husband said he'll get it again as he really liked it. The s&p fish filets were damn good. A tad greasy when reheated, but then, it is a fried dish (duhhhh). The shocker/pleasant surprise was the shu mai. I'm guessing they're homemade, as I've never had such tasty shu mai, not even at a dim sum place. Will definitely be getting more of these babies. Perfectly seasoned, plump bundles of porky-shrimpy goodness. The fried rice and chow fun were spot on. Generous with the protein and the beef in the beef chow fun had the perfect texture. No gristle, not chewy, just tasty bites of tender beef. I think we finally found our favorite Chinese spot. The portions are very generous (it took us 4 meals to finish all the food) and they don't use styrofoam takeout containers. And they also included a container of rice.

It's located in a small strip mall on W Warm Springs Road, about 8 miles southwest from the W Hotel where I was staying. The décor is simple, with about six tables inside and tables outside for al fresco dining. You go there for the food, not the décor. They offer a tasting menu for two for $190, that is amazing. What's more amazing is the deluxe version for $370. As a solo diner on this occasion, I couldn't avail myself of either so I made my own, three Shigoku oysters ($12), three Oyster / Uni / Foie Gras ($30), U3 Prawn with truffle butter ($40), Truffle Bone Marrow Filet with Foie Gras ($76), two glasses of wine ($14 and $16), and Illy coffee to finish ($4). The three Shigoku oysters were great; the ones with uni and foie gras were sublime! I had a glass of 2024 Touraine Sauvignon Blanc with the oysters. The Truffle Prawn was out of this world! The large prawn was split and grilled with truffle butter. The meat was perfect, and I scooped all of the goodness from the shells and savored each bit. I wanted another order! The Truffle Bone Marrow included two bone halves, topped with sliced medium rare filet and seared foie gras. I can never have too much foie gras! The marrow was so unctuous and combined with the filet and a slice of foie gras, I was in food heaven! It's so decadent and insanely good. I had a glass of District 7 Pinot Noir with the meat. Alas, no room for dessert. If I did, I would have ordered another Truffle Prawn. I ended my meal with a cup of Illy coffee, then headed back to my hotel. Ah, what a meal! Superb from start to finish! The total came to $253.08, including a tip. Highly recommended! Rating: 4.75.

Let's start with the highlights of this place- This restaurant has what I'd call "sexy food"- dishes that look like they came straight out of a fine dining restaurant, BUT here, at a MUCH more affordable price! ESPECIALLY DURING HAPPY HOUR!! ( 11 PM - 3 AM). Here are the MUST TRY's: The Gyoza- AMAZING flavor and texture. (Happy Hour Dish) The Sashimis- All come with a citrusy yuzu soy sauce. I love the Yellowtail and Salmon one especially! (Salmon Sashimi is a Happy Hour Dish) Black Cod Lettuce Wraps- Umami, crunchy, satisfying! Chicken/Beef Kushi- the sauces for these- just WOW! (Happy Hour Dish) The New York Strip- Look at the presentation! Amazing! The side seasoning, the greens and chili threads- they all pair with this beautifully cooked steak very well! They do have pricier dishes- even a full Chef's Tasting Menu! But since I usually just come for a quick bite late at night, I don't really get those. Ambience- it is a small restaurant, but not too busy. I find that a lot of late night workers come here for a nice fancy, but affordable dinner. This place is great for groups of friends. What needs work- I do love the food of this restaurant, but there are some things that hurt it. I'd love to see them overcome these obstacles and turn out even more popular on the other side! The Outside- I'm not sure if it's the sewage or something, but around the corner spot where this restaurant is located, there's just this awful, stinky smell. I feel like that issue hurts the restaurant, especially for people who would want to dine outside. The hospitality- the staff is fast- hard working- efficient and good at their job. I don't have to wait much for my food to come out. But I feel like there is a lack of hospitality- I get the feeling that they're disinterested in you being their guest- I don't exactly feel welcome and it just comes across as they're just trying to get the job done. Closing Time- Happy Hour and Online Apple/Google Maps says this restaurant closes at 3am- however, there have been times where this restaurant stops seating or taking in orders before 2am. So just be aware that you may not be able to eat there if you go past 2. Fried Rice/Yakisoba- The rice and the noodles are great, but there's something funky about the protein. When I've ordered beef yakisoba before, the beef tastes funky- not fresh. I feel like these are strong side dishes, but I do question the freshness/flavor of the protein added to these dishes.

On social media I've been seen this restaurant "China Mama" been popping up when I browse my Instagram, so today I was set on having lunch at this establishment. When I walked through doors, I was fascinated at the interior design of the place, the walls, tables and lighting because it had an atmosphere of exclusivity in a foodie type of way however at the same time the staff and service was impeccable and very welcoming to newcomers. What I noticed when I sat down is the teapot, the plates and the menu, the reason why I mentioned those things is because in a typical chinese restaurant, you see a white/red plastic plate with a chinese design on the front of the plate with teapots and teacups that have some residue on them. Along with a sticky menu book that sounds like velcro when you pull the pages apart. Rest assured because the dining set at this restaurant is nothing like that and the level of detail the manager or owner put it in must be applauded because it displays that they care for their customers and uphold the highest level of sanitation. The plates and the teapot were immaculate and also the menu was colorful and clear where I didn't know what dish I wanted to pick because I was so astonished with how vibrant the menu was designed. For new restaurants I always conduct my version of a litmus test regarding food. For chinese restaurants I order fried rice and whatever special pork dish they have on hand to gauge the type of quality I can expect. I will say this, I've had homecook fried rice, traditional fried rice and my goodness is this fried rice really spot on when it comes to flavor, seasoning and cook temperature. I order the shrimp egg fried rice and everything was delicious from the star of the dish being the shrimp to the vegetables. The blend was so harmonious that I was silently eating and lost track of time due to it being cooked to perfection. Secondly, I ordered the twice cooked pork with spicy sauce and the tenderness of the pork was so heavenly I indulge in more after more, even when I was full, my body was pushing my hand to eat more because I subconsciously didn't want the sensation of the umami to fade. I have never had a pork dish like that in a chinese restaurant. It's a far drive from where I currently reside so ontop of the lunch I had I decided to order to dish for to go so I can have the experience again for dinner. I order the pan fried pork dumplings along with signature salted egg yolk prawns. As much as I want to encourage people to try the restaurants I share on reviews, I secretly want to keep this restaurant to myself and just keep it hidden so it dosent get packed in the near future where I have to fight over reservations. That being said, whomever is looking for the best pound for pound chinese restaurant in Las Vegas? CHINA MAMA is THE best hidden secret in this city. It was a wonderful experience and it will not be the last time I visit this extraordinary establishment. Update: I took my mom, brother and sister to try this restaurant that I have been endorsing. Let me tell you how the popularity of this restaurant skyrocketed. I got there at 11:30, put my name down for a wait list not even 5 minutes has passed and 4 more people came in to put their name down. After a 20 minute wait there was an additional 12 names that were on the wait list. Service was so fast, and the pan fried pork buns was informed to us that it would take 45 min to a hour to make, of course we ordered appetizer, entrées, to be served to us when it's ready, so in the mean time we can have some food in our belly before the pork buns but that gors to show how popular that food item is and how its taken off. The waiter that waited our table was so excellent that we tipped him 30%, he was amazing. He's chinese with black frame glassess.

My friend and I came to Ace King BBQ when they first opened because we were looking for a new spot…read morefor skewers ever since spots sadly keep closing down. Ace King BBQ is not located in the best kept plaza and is right next to the original Jinya. The interior is pretty clean and ambience with the lighting reminds me of Chinese karaoke spots. It's not very spacious, so you'll find that you sit pretty close to tables surrounding you. However, the chairs are very comfortable. This is one of the many places that have adopted a QR menu where you order on your phone as well. Options are plenty with the meats, seafood, and vegetables! But not much when it comes to the drinks. There's only a few cocktail options but plenty of beer. We ordered a few selections from each section and honestly, there isn't really much to say. Everything tasted the same since the same seasoning is used on every skewer. Nothing is out of the ordinary or special, so you already know how everything will taste but just depends on what vessel you want to eat the seasoning with. However, I do find it very unnecessary and strange that their "warmer" is just a bunch of normal candles (not sure if it's food safe) that go out and does not generate enough heat to really keep anything warm. The BBQ enoki mushrooms probably tasted the best but after a while you just feel sick from it because it's just sitting in oil. Unfortunately, I'm not sure this is a spot I'd be returning to, as Chinese skewers are becoming more and more popular again with more options opening up.

I'm not too sure, but it seemed like all their skewers are served with the same spicy seasoning…read more Two of our friends don't usually eat spicy food, but they were still able to enjoy them. For our next round, we asked for no spice. We tried the tendon, heart, cartilage, kidney (chicken and lamb), squid, chicken skin, and crispy pork belly. Everything was good, but the chicken skin was the group's favorite. I also loved the crispy pork belly. The place had a nice, chill vibe. Great spot to hang out. I definitely see myself coming back here.

Sauces that were included had a nice tang for one of them and the other was a sweet tonkatsu sauce. The meat jun was seasoned perfectly - salt and a lil sweet with tender meat. My friend ordered the shrimp which were gigantic and seasoned well. We also ordered the milk pudding which was a nice treat to end the meal. Service was quick and friendly. Portions are huge. Will def be coming back again and again!

I had ordered the poke nachos and 2 entree meal with katsu dynamite and furikake Korean chicken. Honest review because y'all deserve the truth. The poke nachos was pretty good I'd say 8/10. The chips stayed crunchy! If it wasn't so saucey I'd might rate it a 9/10. But because they drenched it in too much sauce it got too sweet & I couldn't finish the rest. Had to pick out all the chips that had too much sauce. I'm would order this again but maybe I'd ask for light sauce or sauce on the side. Both the katsu dynamite and the furikake chicken, I'd give a 6/10. Honestly maybe even a 5/10 They both were too saucey. It wasn't enjoyable at all. I would NOT get these again. However, I would come back & give this place another shot but most definitely will be try something else next time.
