Spicy Coleslaw
Scott G.

One of the best places on the Waianae coast. If you're familiar with Waianae, it's located in the old Pizza Hut. The Ahi Katsu, Pan Fried KING Salmon, and Korean Chicken plates were all very tasty and cooked well. You can choose from Tossed Salad, Mac Salad, Spicy Coleslaw, and Crab Salad. They also have their desserts, which they're well known for. Give them a try when you're in Waianae. Alooooooooha and happy eating.

So... I've followed 808 Puff for a while... Makaha truck stops and all. So excited they opened a brick and mortar. I love that for them. We've been there a few times now heading to or from Makaha... and I have to say... now that we had the real capability to stop and eat... their desserts is good, yes, but their food is even better. Everything is good. And you can tell how family oriented they are. And they never forget their roots. Always giving back to the community. Top tier kanaka owned and operated business that all locals and everyone else should support.

Chantilly Crunch

I've never heard of this spot until today while driving into Waianae, so we decided to stop by before they closed for the day. We ordered a cookie butter puff, chantilly crunch, and pistachio pudding cake. Cookie butter puff - an elevated version of the liliha bakery coco puff. The chantilly frosting and cookie butter drizzle went so well together. Chantilly crunch - a pumpkin crunch square topped with chantilly frosting. I think I also tasted cookie butter in the crust? Anything chantilly, I want it! This makes me excited for thanksgiving time! Pistachio pudding cake - this was a little on the mid side for me. The cake wasn't as fluffy or moist as I expected it to be.

New spot in Waianae (old pizza hut buliding). I believe they had a truck and now store front. They have desserts, food items, and fresh poke. Not a big fan of puffs but asked for their most popular items so my family could try. They recommended the churro and cookie butter puffs. I got to taste the cookie butter and it was better than I had imagined it would taste. The texture was better than a Liliha puff (in my opinion), and the flavor was there. My family said the churro was good. We also got some food/poke to try. My daughter had the pulled pork sandwich and I had the ahi katsu sandwich. They almost looked similar when we first got it. The sauce tasted about the same in both. The ahi was a little overpowered by the coleslaw/sauce. The mac nut poke sounded interesting, it was OK, so was the lime poke. We love seafood and poke so as long as it's not overpowered by sauce or gross, we enjoy it. Will definitely go back to try more!

First time here. We ordered the lemon bar, lilikoi bar, pumpkin crunch, Oreo tree leches, chantilly puff, and cookie butter puff. All of them were delicious. My favorite was the lemon bar - not too sweet, not too sour and the shortbread was perfect and the chantilly puff - maybe better than Liliha's in my opinion. My son's favorite was the Oreo tres leches. The lady helping us was helpful and friendly and I'm glad they have a seating area to enjoy the food. We will be back to try out their food menu.

One of the best places to get plate lunches in Waianae. Service is fast and friendly. I must say their puffs hands down the best!! I highly recommend checking them out!

Ahi katsu

Located in the old Waianae Pizza Hut, this place is a dessert delight! We tried the chantilly brownie, churro puff, king salmon ahi katsu (meals come with rice and we got the mac salad - had other choices). Omg! Everything was broke da mouth. Ono food, good portions, delectable desserts - definitely a place to come to when visiting Waianae.

Kalbi Plate w/ corn & Mac salad
Scott R.

I love 808 puffs but the past TWO times my Kalbi Plate was burnt ‍ it's like they forgot to flip it. The first time I ever tried this it was great but the last 2 times I don't know what happened they put it burnt side down in the plate so it wouldn't be noticeable but this plate was bad all I could taste was burnt flavor. Too bad because this plate is $24 such a waste!!!

Friendly staff, not crowded, there is a place to sit and enjoy your food. Very clean and welcoming atmosphere. Lots of parking in the parking lot there. They accept debit and credit cards.

Puffs were really good n reasonably priced . We really enjoyed our trip out there. What an experience

Kalbi plate with Crab Potato salad & corn!! DELICIOUS.

I was too full at the moment to order more food, but I returned on my last evening in Oahu to order a slice of rainbow cake for myself. It was somewhat early in the evening -- probably around 6PM or so -- so the Royal Hawaiian Center food court was getting a little busy but there were still empty tables around. The bakery itself had a few people in line so I perused the display case for other desserts. They had quite a few interesting ones: lilikoi basque cheesecake, Diamond Head puff custard, ube cake. Unfortunately, my appetite is much smaller than it once was, but the cakes looked delicious and the people in front of me all ordered their cakes ahead of time, so they are quite in demand! The cashier took my order quickly and I was able to get a slice of rainbow cake, which had fluffy cream and moist layers of colorful cake. The flavor reminded me of fruity pebbles, but without being overly sweet the way children's cereal used to be. I really liked eating it because it didn't make me feel guilty eating a dessert. I hope I can return to Kulu Kulu sometime and try their other desserts a well!

They have beautiful displays of fancy desserts and on shelves cookies and Madeleines. I picked a few fruity desserts to try macarons, lemon tart, mango pudding, tropical fromage. I wanted to get their fruit tart but the fruit on top looked dry and not as pretty and glossy. My favorite was the tropical fromage which was light and airy with a really nice fruit flavor. The mango panna cotta was my second favorite which included the mango bits on top - a nice touch - and the cream nice and rich. Lemon tart had an odd taste to it. Should have went with the mush peach tart that didn't look as appetizing but probably better. The macarons were my least favorite especially the yuzu and passion fruit flavors that didn't taste anything like those fruits. For $2.50 I wish they were better and not as dry. I am glad I tried them but the prices were a bit much for me.

I thought i'd just buy one or two pastries but i bought six. Yes all six just for me! For lunch i got a jalapeño cream cheese pastry and a cheese hot dog. Both were great, the jalapeño cream cheese pastry has jalapeños inside that are quite hot but blends w the cream cheese really well. I enjoyed it. I also got a hokkaido custard pastry which was nice, light and fluffy and not too sweet which I liked. I also enjoyed an ube pastry with an ube filling on the inside. I thought the chocolate chip bowl was interesting, powdered sugar fills the middle of the pastry so it looks like a bowl, this pastry was a little more dense and not as light. Lastly i got the cream cheese pastry with the round blobs of creme cheese on the top, a bit sweet with the sugar crystals but so good, Make sure to check the app, i had a buy one pastry and get one 50% off coupon. You see, last Christmas I gave you my heart and the very next day, you gave it away. This year, to save me from tears........no, no. This never happened to me but Wham's "Last Christmas" which was written by George Michael, is overly played during the holidays in Japan. On a serious note, last Christmas I was jonesing for a yule log. I saw posts on IG and when I attempted to order one at a bakery on S King St, I was advised it was too late. At a Japanese themed bakery I was offered the option of a Christmas cake but wasn't in a mood for strawberry shortcake. I was on a mission. I recall attending a Christmas dinner at my cousin's a few years back where someone brought Yule logs and found that they were from Elvin's Bakery (EB). I also did a search on EB's photo gallery and saw one posted so I gave them a call. Placing an order via telephone was literally a piece of cake. It was confirmed to a tee and was also advised their closing on Christmas Day so pick up would be on Christmas Eve. I made payment over the phone. All done. The Yule log was a hit at Christmas dinner where it was visually stunning and tasty. It was not overly sweet nor dry. Well executed and decorated beautifully. So why not 5-stars? Picking it up was a shocker when the Yule log was placed in a cake box that clearly was meant for a 1/2 sheet cake (?) size so you had to be extra careful when transporting and storing. There was no support nor fillers in the box for the quite empty box as the Yule log was not meant for the box provided. In closing, I'm grateful EB came through with an amazing dessert for our holiday dinner but was caught off guard with their boxing. I'll need to think twice about ordering a Yule log again from them and will definitely order earlier and seek the options on Oahu before deciding on where to go.
