I was prepared for a so so dinner. I've been to some solid Korean restaurants and this one is fusion. With 3 or 4 menus in 1, the kitchen rule is you probably aren't good at any then. But 818 Fusion is good We came out Friday for dinner. It's an unassuming spot, in a strip mall in West Boca. The previous reviews most you can't go by as it's used to have a different and owner. It was actually mostly full when we arrived, but we still got a table. I already knew I wanted bimbimbap, but since the menu had other good looking items we tried a few things. 1st we got the fried pork dumplings. They were done perfectly. A little crispy but not over cooked. Next the roll we got was really good, put together solid. Then came the Bimbimbap. It far exceeded my expectations. A nice layer of crispy rice was bubbling as our waiter brought out the skillets. I got the pork but really I would have been fine with just vegetarian; maybe an extra egg. I didn't expect much from 818. But we are looking forward to going back. It's a pretty darn good spot. read more

A new Korean, Chinese, Sushi, and Dim Sum restaurant in the Target shopping center on 441. I tried the Sashimi Platter, 15 pieces of sashimi including octopus. very fresh and nice size portions. Doesn't come with a choice of soup or salad like the other Sushi restaurants. Definitely will return to try some of their Korean and Dim Sum dishes. read more

I'm always hesitant about these Asian fusion places but wanted to give it a try. I was hoping they would surprise me but that didn't happen at all. It's great to be able to have all these Asian options in one place but if you do it, please do it well. Otherwise just stick to one and make it amazing. The service was great however. Our server was friendly and attentive. Also, restaurant was very clean and loved the decor. There's a lot of potential for this location but I'm not sure they will be able to attract an authentic Asian fan base with the current menu. read more

Located at 21659 FL-7 in West Boca, 818 Asian Fusion is a new addition to the family of 818 restaurants, which includes 818 Shanghai and 818 Hot Pot. The concept combines sushi, Korean, and dim sum offerings, with dim sum made at 818 Shanghai. Ownership is fully Chinese, but the menu leans heavily into an Americanized approach. Rachel and I visited for lunch, keeping our focus on the dim sum since we planned to visit 818 Shanghai the next day for their main dishes. While the dim sum menu features around 20 items, only about a dozen are currently available. We ordered Siu Mai, Noh Ma Gai (chicken sticky rice), and Fried Mandoo from the Korean appetizer section. * Siu Mai: A completely pork version that was large but tasted bland. It wasn't bad, but it definitely needed chili oil or hot mustard to elevate it. * Sticky Chicken Rice: Comforting and cooked well, but, like the Siu Mai, it lacked seasoning. * Mandoo: These were a miss. As gyoza, they were decent--homemade with pork, glass noodles, and cabbage--but calling them mandoo is a stretch. They lacked any Korean elements like kimchi, garlic, or chile, which are essential to authentic mandoo. We also sampled some kimchi and banchan. Unfortunately, the kimchi wasn't fermented enough, leaving it underdeveloped, though it did have some heat from gochu flakes. The white radish kimchi was flavorless, and the fish cake and seaweed salad tasted store-bought. Our server, a friendly second- or third-generation Chinese American, mentioned that the restaurant tones down its flavors to cater to a primarily American audience. We even had to request chili oil for the dumplings. I briefly looked over the sushi menu, but it seemed to offer the standard fare, with items like "white tuna" (escolar) featured prominently--an immediate turnoff for me. The restaurant itself is modern and attractive, located in a busy plaza. While it will likely do well with the local crowd, the higher prices compared to Broward and the toned-down flavors make it less appealing for those seeking bold, authentic tastes. read more

They had replaced a previous Chinese restaurant that wasn't so hot. So maybe that's why they didn't catch on. But they were only open a few short months. I will definitely miss this place. read more

Pretty average Asian restaurant with extensive chinese, Korean and Japanese menu. All the stuff I ordered was blunt, had no flavor and shrimp tempura was not tempura, but katsu(breaded deep fried) but the restaurant is brand new and clean which is a plus. read more

We've made this a regular spot. We either order takeout or sit at their sushi bar. My latest go to is the Korean Bibimbop with which tastes as good as it looks. Service is always great. You don't have to be in the mood for sushi to enjoy this restaurant. They have nice selection of Korean food among others. The dining room was full but the noise level was relatively low. Lucky Palace Chinese Restaurant was nearby when I needed lunch one day so I figured I'd give it a try. I didn't have much time and typically Chinese restaurants move you along quickly, and while that wasn't the case, I still had an okay experience. The inside of this place gives me 90's Asian inspired club spa activity room at an home for the elderly realness. I'm assuming most people get the food here either to-go or delivered (if that's an option) because there was only one other couple dining when I was there. I was seated and told a waitress would be right there. She wasn't. I waited a good five minutes before anyone came over. She brought those addictive crunchy noodles, hot tea, and water. Score because that's all I needed. I ordered the lunch special with the Sesame Chicken, fried rice, soup an egg roll. The soup and egg roll were pretty standard flare and flavor. If you like either or those, you'll like those. Nothing special to report. For a lunch portion, I thought the size of the chicken was large and the amount of rice was small. Usually you're loaded up on rice so you eat less of the chicken which is the more expensive product. The Sesame Chicken was pretty flavorful, and very hot which gave me comfort knowing it was made fresh. The chicken also had the right amount of breading too. I didn't see the waitress much after only to give me my check. I never got asked for a refill on my water until my check was taken from me which by that point it's too late. For me, this is a place I'd totally get only for take-out. Dining in isn't your best option or a highlight. The food is definitely above average when comparing it to other Chinese restaurants, but I definitely wouldn't come here to dine in based on their service. read more

I would agree with the general concensus that the food here is around average. Ended up getting fried rice, pepper chicken plate, General tso chicken, and kung bao chicken. The kung bao chicken had a very similar to the pepper chicken but sweeter sauce. It wasn't for me. The pepper chicken needed more ground or course black pepper in it. It did have a decent flavor and a good meat to veggie ratio. The fried rice and the General tso chicken were what you would expect from typical American chinese. Also had to try their egg roll. I guess I was spoiled in nyc but these were really small and not crispy enough. The dumplings had good flavor, but were small. Can't go wrong if you want average American-style Chinese food. At least the food was cooked quickly and the guys at the register were nice. Wish I could rate it higher. read more

Wanted to like this place, the wonton soup was good... but then the food came out, deep fried batter in orange syrup and a bowl on Uncle Bens rice with brown sauce and egg bits to make it look fried. The place had no customers in it on a Saturday night! This place used to be busy... the food is shockingly poor! Such a shame, the place could be spectacular if it just served good food. I waited almost a week to post a review of this Chinese restaurant. I'm neither for nor against it and I'm not sure I'll return again but I probably will. Just as confusing as that is as much confused as I am about this place. The food was nothing spectacular but it wasn't horrible either. I had Szechuan shrimp that had the perfect spice level but there again nothing spectacular, the fried rice was OK but there again nothing spectacular The best part of the meal was definitely ice-cold water. The eggroll came out very hot which is something I like but again there's nothing spectacular about it, the egg drop soup was good My fiancé had the shrimp chow mein which she says was absolutely delicious, I tasted it and it seems to be pretty bland to me. I don't think I'll ever recommend this place although if you're looking for a sit down Chinese restaurant in West Boca you wouldn't go wrong here either. read more

Friday at 6:30 PM. Dining room almost empty, not a good sign. Four of us ordered 4 Combo platters which included soup (quite good), egg roll (a bit on the greasy side) and plain or fried rice. We also ordered a large spare ribs (not to my liking) and two orders of dumplings (very good) as well as ice cream for dessert. The Good News: We all left stuffed with take home bags. Total bill including tax and tip was only $90. The Less Good News: Quality of the main dishes was variable. The shrimp and lobster sauce was very good. The egg foo yung had an after-taste of cooking oil that should have been changed yesterday. Bottom line: Quite inexpensive. Large portions. Quality of cooking is a crap-shoot. read more

This is only for delivery. The other night I was at my friend's house and we decided we would like Chinese. We ordered the following: Chicken Lo Mein: the kids loved it and it has a nice amount of chicken and veggies. Veggie Fried Rice: it was filled with veggies! Broccoli, zucchini, carrots, onions & egg. It was nice and fresh. Veggies were not mushy. Vegetable Moo sho: again filled with a lot of variety of veggies. It was a little wet to eat on the pancake, but it was very tasty. Honey garlic chicken: kids liked it. I didn't eat since I don't eat chicken Spring rolls: not mushy inside. Even at delivery it was still crunchy. House mustard and duck sauce was included without asking. Like that much better than the packets. Delivery time was reasonable and they got a little lost and called for assistance. We loved that they had a CC machine and we didn't have to give the card number over the phone. The driver was super nice and humble when asking if we wanted to leave a tip on the card. I can only imagine how awkward that is. All in all, it was tasty and I would order again. read more

This place has revamped the decor since I've been here last, which is nice. However, the food needs to be revamped as well. I shared an early bird dinner with my grandma of garlic chicken. Neither of us had a large appetite, but the portion was laughable. Chinese establishments like this one are kind of known for putting plenty of filler in, but this was 80% broccoli. I had maybe four pieces of chicken to make sure she had enough to eat. The egg drop soup tasted alright, but it looked so unappealing. The egg roll was inedible. It tasted like it had been previously frozen and experienced a bout of freezer burn. Even though my mom ordered an early bird dinner, making that two, they only gave us one potion of rice for us to share. I knew we'd been skimped, but once I tasted the rice, I didn't bother to ask for more. Bland, bland, bland. read more

I chose to get delivery in spite of the mediocre yelp ratings and had one of the most disappointing meal experiences of late. I ordered and they said would be half hour to delivery. My tummy was already grumbling from being late to eat, but i figured it would be worth the wait as I was jonesing for Chinese. Thirty minutes went by and I called to check in as food didn't arrive (keep in mind the delivery is about a block away or a third of a mile). Another thirty minutes went by and they said should be there shortly - I was miserable and maybe 10 minutes later the food came. There was a $2 delivery fee added and I gave a couple bucks extra for tip because I am nice. First thing I notice is no plastic utensils or napkins were included and they delivered to a hospital - kinda ridiculous. Next I took that long-awaited first bites of the fried rice and chicken lo mien. Both were pedestrian, but I was so starved that I continued to eat some. After a little while I wasn't starving and just threw away the rest. Usually when I get Chinese food I don't leave a bite to spare, but this food just did not taste good to me. Next I went to the egg roll from the $11.00 combo and it was cold. Lastly I tried the wonton soup. The soup was actually good, but it was half the size of the soup my local spot gives - just hardly any broth - bittersweet. The employees were decently friendly but cannot overcome the poor product. One of the nurses recommended Teriyaki Madness through Uber Eats, so i would try ordering that instead if you are a patient at the hospital. read more

The last order I got from this restaurant was shrimp with lobster sauce. The lobster sauce was disgusting and slimy and watered down. Duck sauce was watered down as well! Food was inedible! Additionally, when I got home and looked at my receipt I saw that I was overcharged by more than $2.50. I also remember seeing a sign on the wall that says "prices are subject to change." Never eating here again. Ate here for the first time tonight for dinner after they remodeled. Their portions are soooo small and they ripped me off with their "Honey Chicken and Shrimp" which makes their portion bigger because of the batter than the meat itself. And the fried rice serving that was supposed to be for 2 people looked like a serving for not even enough for 1 person. My bf's chicken and shrimp with veggies platter had 3 small shrimps in it. I have eaten here before while sitting down inside and the food was ok. I say ok because it was your typical Chinese restaurant. Well last night we ordered takeout and it was disappointing. The General Tso's Chicken tasted ok, but the pieces of chicken were way too big . I mean, most pieces were about 3 inches across, and when they are that big then there's no crunch when you bite into it. Just a mush blah. I don't like huge pieces of chicken in my General Tso's and I don't remember ever having huge pieces like that anywhere. The Beef & Broccoli angered me It was nothing but BROCCOLI. If I wanted broccoli with brown gravy then I would have ordered just that, BROCCOLI & GRAVY. I WAS RIPPED OFF! I had a few small slices of beef and that's it! Did I call & complain, No. I didn't because it wasn't worth my time nor was it worth my time to take another 20 minutes to return or pick up the beef that didn't come with my order. Ok. Update almost two years later, the positive... I was told delivery to my area would be 45-60 minutes; it was barely 30 minutes. And my order was correct. The young lady who brought my food was courteous, friendly and well spoken. Gave her a nice tip. My order; one egg roll. One entire side (lengthwise) was so tough I could barely bite through it. Inedible. What I WAS able to eat was relatively tasteless. Wonton soup: three nice, big fat yummy wontons. Very hot soup. Nice flavor. Sweet and Sour Chicken: The good thing I can say about it is that the amount of food in this dish was HUGE! That would be nice if it was good. Sweet and Sour for this restaurant apparently means fried meat of your choice, with a side of watery red sauce that's sort of sweet. No pineapple, no peppers...just a mountain of chicken. Slightly greasy, flavorless, thickly battered chicken. Some pieces downright crunchy at the ends. I'm all for no waste. Recommend asking if a customer needs soy sauce, hot mustard, etc. I don't use any of it and they gave me a lot. Hated throwing it away. This was overall a disappointing order. Will give it one more try in the future before giving up on them. Hopefully this isn't a sign of how it's become. read more

3.5 Lucky P is a solid Chinese food restaurant. It isn't the best Chinese you'll have but unless you're in NYC not much will be. It is more than serviceable when you're in need of your fix. Chinese food and a can of coke is a perfect combination and every once in a while I get that fix at Lucky Palace. I've never ate inside, but their take-out is really convenient. Their staff is courteous, prices are reasonable and their food is good. I prefer the shrimp and garlic sauce meal but have had their chow fun and thought it was pretty good as well. It's a really great neighborhood Chinese restaurant when you consider your options and your residency. read more

I've eaten here over the years, it was hit or miss. But when it was good, it was very incredibly good. I went to a birthday party held here recently with special dishes not on the menu. Great little family restaurant. Food was awesome and the prices are low. Great find in a (kind of yucky) strip mall. Like most small family restaurants the interior leaves you flat ... but who cares when the food is delicious! Had the shrimp and veggies - very solid - good flavor. Ordered delivery due to a craving, so can't comment on the venue. Delivery was decent timing for a Sunday at dinner time. Ordered lo mein, chicken fried rice and steamed dumplings. The food was good, just good. Nothing spectacular. The steamed dumplings were a bit "runny" but ok. A bit pricey but it was filling, portion sizes are good, have enough to eat for 3 nights. Very good. General Tso's Chicken was cooked perfect. Most places overcook it and that burns me up, but not this place. I didn't care for the regular fried rice but my coworker said the pork fried rice was good. The wonton soup was good and I liked having warm tea at the table. Dinner also came with an egg roll that was tasty. Service wasn't bad, a little slow but not bad. They kinda bring things out slowly. First the wonton soup and once we finished that they brought the egg rolls. Once those were gone our main dishes arrive about 10 min later. Overall not a bad place. I gave 4 stars because the chicken was cooked to perfection. read more
