85 degrees is a really reliable cafe. The bakery items are always fresh - not too sweet, and good. They offer various types of breads, mostly the kinds you'd find in Asia. I really enjoy trying new things and there's always a seasonal item to try. I enjoy coffee a lot. I wouldn't say it's the best coffee but it's always good. It pairs well with bread. I love coming to this 85° because of how close it is to my home. Today in particular I was serviced by Conrad and Krystal. Conrad was very attentive and helped me right away and while he was putting in my order Krystal had it already done for me by the time I paid. This location is down the street from us so we come whenever we want our pastry/boba fix. My main gripe is that the selection is usually pretty limited, even when we go 3 hours before closing time. I think that tonight was the first time where most of the display cabinets were full. Staff here provide quick service and are usually very friendly. Boba drinks take them a while to make sometimes (but that's normal even at their other locations). My personal favorite pastries: pork sung bun, sugared brioche, matcha choco bun. This chain bakery consistently turns out yummy baked goodness. The process is always the same. Get a tray, line it with paper, grab tongs, and load it up with goodies from their multitude of cases. Location: this particular shop is in Cypress, CA. Definitely, the smallest branch that I have stepped into. The strip plaza has a lot of parking, but I can see it getting really busy at times. There are many other popular businesses here. (4 stars) Atmosphere: feels very cozy inside this small shop. There are only a few tables to dine at. A little counter bar faces a window, and there are a couple of comfy seats in one corner of the store. Majority of folks take their purchases to go. More than likely, you will not be able to hangout with family or friends during peak times because of the tiny dining area. (3.5 stars) Service: staff who assisted me were cordial and helpful. One of the employees even went to their kitchen area to search for more products for me, but unfortunately there was none ready for another hour. (4 stars) What I tried: the Brioche was yummy just like all the other locations so 5 stars for this bready yummyness! The Kouign Amann (Caramel Danish) was tasty, but not one of the best I've eaten. Will be dropping by from time to time to satiate our brioche hunger. Hopefully, they won't run out of the Pork Buns and Taro Buns. Was very disappointed that none were ready on this visit. I came here on a Monday morning at 8:00 AM. I am a fan of 85 degrees bakery and have gone to most of the locations in California. The quality control here is not that great compared to other locations. I usually get their taro buns but there weren't that many left in the morning. The taro buns that were left were all misshapen and flattened. Their other buns did not look as appealing as other locations. I decided to get a sea salt coffee since they wouldn't mess that up too right? Wrong. The sea salt coffee was not even hot. It tasted okay. I would not come back to this location and will go to any other 85 degrees bakery in another town. read more

I've recently been getting back into 85 degrees. When they first opened up in SoCal, I would on occasionally brave their crazy lines for their mochi egg tarts and breads if people were visiting. Since then, a lot more stores have opened up so the hype and lines have died down. You can't beat their sea salt iced coffee for 85 cents on Mondays. I've also discovered my favorite bread there - the calamari stick! I'm not sure why it's called a stick since it's round... but it's a squid ink garlic mozzarella bread that is so much tastier than their garlic cheese stick bread. Recently, I discovered their king grapefruit drink, which is sweetened with honey and has a whole grapefruit in it! It's so good!!! Unfortunately, I did not have a great experience on my purchase on the mango creek brûlée cake. The mango chunks on top are hard as rocks. I have purchased this cake when it was not on a seasonal promotion many times and it was amazing! Now, they add weird pumpkins on top as decoration instead of the white chocolate ribbons and out of season hard mango chunks diced way too chunky for eating with a delicate cake. read more

It seems like 85C Bakeries are popping up everywhere now. This is still a fairly new location. My experience here was painless and while busy on a weekday before 10 am was not bad. This location is on the smaller side and some of the bins were low on stuff but workers were replenishing them as I moved around checking out what was there. One of my friends who lives in Cypress, recently got out of the hospital and has never tried this bakery, so I wanted to take her some treats when I recently visited her. I was kinda pressed for time and made a quick run through the store. If I would've had more time, I would have ordered a drink to go, too, but didn't but will next time. The refrigerated dessert case up front was calling to me, also, but I will peruse more fully on a subsequent visit. I enjoy the roll cakes, breads, meat buns like hot dog and sausage and puddings and beautiful cream and mousse desserts they have here as well as tea and coffee drinks. They have beautiful large cakes here that are nice for special occasions, also. Service was helpful and warm when I got to the counter to pay. There are few tables and counter areas to sit inside. The parking lot is ample here, as this shopping center down the street from Cypress High School got completely renovated and only has a few other tenants occupying it so far. When this shopping center gets more occupied, I am sure it will be more of a cluster though. Like I said, to me coming here was a pleasant experience unlike visiting the location closest to me in Irvine which I pretty much avoid a lot because of the dreaded parking lot there and crowds at that location. This location is convenient to where both my sister and my parents live also, so I can pop in to grab some stuff before visiting my family. It is a nice, new location and I am glad 85C has arrived in the city of Cypress. read more

It's been a while since I've been to this particular location but after today I don't think I'll be back. The guy at the register clearly hates his job and he wants to make sure you know it. He was visibly annoyed I interrupted him from folding that when I went to check out he yanked the tray from me on the counter. As soon as he rang up my items he rolled his eyes then quickly turned back around and went back to doing what he was doing. Didn't bother to even look if I was going to pay so I could've easily just turned around and walked out. On top of that, I called the store when I left because I had a question about ordering a cake but when the girl answered the phone, you can literally hear this same guy yelling and ranting in the background about how someone thinks he's ungrateful for all he does. With the boba milk tea lava cake recently released, I just had to try it! Coming in on the first day it came out, There were plenty of them selling. When I tried the cake, the cake was pretty good, but if you dont really like a cheese foam taste, this isnt your go to. I felt like something like this was instaworthy but when trying to remove the wrap around the cake, it was difficult to remove and the cake ended up lOokiNg like mush. In order to take pictures of the cake, I had to reorganize and fix it up. Other than that. The service was great and the long line flowed pretty quickly. read more

It's like a Mexican panaderia but for Asian stuff. They have great pastries, cakes, cookies, pies, and drinks. I recommend the salted iced coffee and taro bread. I can't tell you how many people who weren't at all familiar with these asian delicasseys have fallen in love with them because its so Good.
