Service was quite slow at this location. I ordered the salted coffee, but it wasn't nearly as good as I've had at other locations. I also tried the cream bun and unfortunately didn't enjoy it. One thing that concerned me was the packaging on the bun -- when I removed it from the baking cup, the plastic appeared slightly melted and distorted, which made me uncomfortable about possible plastic transfer to the food. The location itself is also inconvenient. Parking is difficult unless you're already visiting the mall, and otherwise I don't really see a reason to come specifically to this location. read more

Damn, only a 2.9 Stars average rating for this place!? Wow! A ton of haters on here, huh? Remember when 85 Bakery used to be EXTREMELY trendy? All of a sudden, the trendy mofos bastardized it, labeled it overrated and went onto whatever the hell else they're into that is hip or cooler to them instead of embracing the nostalgia and trying to keep a great thing like this alive and in business. Anyways.... Yes, this is a wayyyyy smaller version of other 85s around here, so if anyone has a problem, they can easily take their asses down to the other 2 nearby that are way bigger and more crowded. Problem solved for the knitpickers. To me, this 85 gets 5 Stars because it's small but way more personal/intimate for something is even inside of a busy Del Amo Mall and I DIG THAT! Sometimes they get cooler choices of pastries as opposed to other spots too. It's also a nice little grab and go 85 for others to get something to snack on while walking around the mall. read more

Oh my gosh .. what a bakery!!! Everything is soooo fresh and individually wrapped for your selection. I chose a matcha coco pastry and a plain brioche (?) ... both were outstanding, soft and satisfying. Many choices with the bakery goods being replenished constantly. Also a great tea/coffee menu. Poor service! I have been here so many times and 85 is one of my favorite places when i think about cakes or drinks. But this time i felt so disappointed. I got a little bit sick i so cannot drink tea with ice. Therefore, i ordered ice tea with ice then i ordered the large size without ice and got a cup not even full. Went in here twice in one day. Once in the day just before shopping and once more just before leaving the shopping mall. First morning visit was a quick in and out experience. Didn't feel rushed as there wasn't much of any foot traffic. I would like to add that the trainee behind the cashier register was anything but enthusiastic. Definitely just going through the motions. It was a different story in the afternoon. Heavy foot traffic, one self-service kiosk only worked, and service was extremely understaffed. The good: They have indoor seating and "outdoor" seating (outside the shop but still inside the mall). I love that they have seasonal cakes. I got a handful of pastries (both savory and sweet). The coconut one was my favorite with a coconut paste in the middle. The prices are great. I like that each pastry, ever since 2020, is individually wrapped so it's easy to buy for office parties, classrooms or for potlucks. Their egg tarts are great. The bad: It's smaller than other 85 degree locations. The mango smoothie I got was pretty sweet and tasted like it was made from a puree/syrup/concentrate. The line moved slowly. Couldn't wait to return to my old favorite drink place, but admittedly never went to this location. This was a bust. First time using the self order screens, and both of them wouldn't accept payment. After wasting too long, we went to the counter, ordered and paid without problems. Got my usual large sea salt Jasmine green tea and a milk butter puff pastry, sat at one of the tables in front of the store, now open after my prolonged ordering ordeal, and hung with a friend and hubby. Service was great! My 9 year old picked up a croissant and the bag was upside down so it fell, they didn't make her feel bad which was great. I got a chocolate hazelnut muffin, a blueberry muffin and a chocolate croissant. The hazelnut muffin was good, not dry and it had crushed almonds on top. The chocolate croissant also had sliced almonds on top. I got here around 5 pm and they did have a limited section of items which was okay, I wish they had more to choose from but it's understandable as it's the end of the day. read more

Horrible customer service from Rosa. We were eating on the patio and were rudely told to leave since they were closing. The mall wasn't closed yet and if they really had to clean and close out the place exactly at 9, then let customers know a few minutes before closing. Got receipt with my number and then waited... and waited. An older man had been waiting since I got there. About 20 minutes into to _our_ wait he went to the front and basically yelled at them that he only ordered a hot coffee, where was it? They scrambled and got him his drink immediately. I have no idea how long he had been waiting by that point. Seeing that we would apparently need to ask, too, I went to the front and asked if our drinks were being made. The guy looked at my receipt and said the order wasn't on their radar, and he'd take care of it. Ten minutes after asking, our drinks were finally made. I asked the guy if I could grab an egg tart or something small since we had to wait for 30 minutes, and he said he'd check with his manager. This girl (Z...) came over, and I asked if I could grab something small from the bakery as a show of good will since we had been waiting for 30 minutes for our drinks since they lost our order. Right off the bat she said, "you didn't wait 30 minutes. I have your receipt right here, and it's from 10 minutes ago. So no, you can't have anything. We're a mall location and long waits are normal". So, this manager pretty much called me a liar and gaslit me, saying I only waited 10 minutes. The time she pointed at was from the new receipt since they lost my old ticket! I showed her my Apple Pay. Top line. "85°C (30 minutes ago)" She said, "Fine, you can grab something", but by that time I was done. I didn't want something free, I wanted a show of good faith that they felt bad for making customers wait for so long, and wanted to make it right. Instead, they accuse customers of lying until you literally show receipts. I like 85°C, but this location is so poorly managed I won't be back unless management changes. We came on a Sunday around 6 pm. There were only two people making drinks one of which was also doing the register. We waited around 30 minutes for our drinks. Not a wide selection of pastries left. What bothered me was their pre made matcha container and cream container was sitting out on the counter by the drink sealing station for the whole 30 minutes and maybe even longer than when we arrived meaning they don't have it refrigerated. I visited this location around noontime. It was fortunately not busy. As I grabbed a tray and got some items, I went to the line, no one was in front of me. 3 of the workers were all chit-chatting. So about 1 minute, one of them finally goes to the register and just looks at me. I'm in the line queue and there is no one in front of me, and I'm carrying a tray of pastries. No, "Hello. I can help you" or "Hi, if you are ready, I can ring you up." Nope. None of that. Just looked at me. So I walked up, again no greeting or anything. Just "Would you like a bag for 10 cents?". Please teach your staff common customer service. Stop with the "Gen Z" stare. I could have just went straight to the register and said, "I'm ready, ring me up" But then I would then be looked at as rude or impatient. Learn to greet and acknowledge your customers vs. socializing to each other (while there is a customer in line) or just looking at your customers without saying a word. read more

I love 85 but this location is so disappointing!! After waiting 10 mins for my iced coffee, I stirred the cold foam and the ice fully melted and my iced coffee had no ice and felt warm. They seemed understaffed, it took a while to get a barista's attention, and then they were unfriendly when I asked about the drink/ice. I didn't feel like asking for them to remake it with ice since I'd likely have to wait another 10 mins. The pastries which are usually my favorite just didn't look good, which was a bummer. I've visited this location several times. It's always busy and the staff incredibly friendly. They take a lot of price in presentation and cleanliness of the location. Last time here the line went out the door. But the wait time was very reasonable due to the efficiency of the staff. I don't like comparing "coffee" places with each other. All are unique. Excellent location on corner near entrance/exit doors inside Del Amo Shopping Mall in Torrance, CA. Solid operations. Good cashier service in front. You can order at counter or order at kiosk which makes it very convenient. There are tables and chairs just outside the store for sitting or hanging out while you enjoy delicious pastries and beverages. Clean, inviting, modern, and well lit. Retail space looks good, but it's not a place for sitting inside. Staffs are always helpful. Tiger Boba Latte medium size with ice is still under $5. Lots if beautiful and delicious pieces of cakes to choose from, starting at $4.05 per piece. Good fruity standards. Still $2.90 for butter bread and $2.95 for blueberry muffin. There's always a good variety of items to choose from and they usually replenish them well on displays. I didn't see much long lines or crowds on weekdays. Inexpensive. I am usually satisfied with 85 Degrees C Bakeries, but it really depends on location and atmosphere. Positive feeling during opening hour. Good staffs. Very clean inside. This 85 bakery is located inside Del Amo mall. It's by the entrance so if you're coming in, they're like the first shop you see. If you're inside, it's a little tough to find because it's all the way in the corner. Look for Macy's, it's not far from there. The squarefeet isn't as big as other location so the option isn't going to be as much. But they have the core items like brioche & new item like ube bread. Drinks and bread continue to be solid and affordable. They have a machine inside to order drinks and cakes (not bread), so you won't have to wait in line. But honestly, it's crowded inside & we didn't see it until later once we're out waiting for drinks. 85; Best to keep it outside so people will actually use it. read more

This is a nice 85C location in Del Amo Fashion Center, close to Nordstroms and across from Luna Grill. I came to this location while walking back to my car, after getting some much needed shopping done. It's been a hot minute since I've had their delicious iced coffee, so I decided to stop by for a bit. Fortunately, the line was not long at all. I was able to submit my order, and I had my coffee in less than 10 minutes. I waited in their outside seating while they processed my order. This 85C location is smaller than their other locations, but their coffee is still good. They have plenty of pastries for sale as well, but I opted not to buy one this time around. We found out Starbucks had closed in the mall so were looking for a quick coffee shop for a mid shopping break, and saw this on the mall map so headed in that direction. We have eaten numerous times at other 85 deg cafes so knew what to expect. However the staff were in short number at this store for the amount of clientele and we had a bit of a wait to order. I chose a decaf latte and had picked out a cheese n spinach pastry as I waited. I also ordered a Vietnamese coffee and a deluxe chocolate slice for my daughter. The coffee was a good caffeine hit but we were given the wrong cake and had to go back to the counter to ask for it to be changed which was annoying. The cheesy pastry was good, not the best, but solid and the latte hot. Our timing was great as we passed the store an hour or so later and the line was out the door! Del Almo needs another coffee shop with seating so shoppers can take a break mid shop and sit down for a caffeine hit n a bite to eat. read more
