Located in the ranch 99 parking lot is this super busy bakery. It is absolutely delicious, especially the brioche bread. I could sit here and eat loaves all day, but I won't. Pricing is average. They sell milk teas and coffee but I did not get any. I had milk butter loaf, brioche bread, hot dog roll and they were excellent. Buttery and not too sweet. They were out of egg tarts but just ask if they are making some in the back since they are constantly coming out to restock from the oven! But no egg tarts today :( They also have cakes and fancy desserts sold up front. I can't wait to try it next time. How it works: walk in and grab a tray and tongs and pick all your baked goods. Then go to the line to bag up your goods in individual plastic bags. Then go to next available cashier. Sometimes when it's really busy there's a worker helping you bag, if you have 100 pieces of bread. Lol. It's really busy so I don't even know when a good time to come is. Giving it a three star for my first visit. Since they have only been open for about a week they should have had someone at the door to greet and direct new customer to the store. I order a slice of Red velvet cake and a coffee, it took them quite awhile to get the coffee orders out. After tasting the product red velvet cake it is not as sweet as Southern Red velvet cake, more on European style. Large Asian customer base, they knew exactly what to do! If I could give 0 star, I would! Very unprofessional, putting wrong price and not honoring it! The cashier apologized in a very insincere way and told me that I don't have to buy it! They even went ahead and took the price without letting me take a picture of it! Pretended that price was never there from the first place! What a rude customer service they have! Came here a couple of weeks ago to pick up some of the taro mochi mooncakes, which are delicious, and ended up also buying some tasty pastries for breakfasts the next few mornings. The wheat mushroom pastry was great, and the sausage bread is always a classic. The BOGO 50% off deal was for a spinach kale pastry, so I picked up two of those and also really enjoyed them! The taro mochi mooncakes were a tad expensive for such a small pastry, but I don't regret buying them. I ordered the mountain green tea and pudding. The tea was good but the biggest problem was the pudding which tastes weird so I only ate half of them and got a really bad stomache couple hours later (I have never have problem with pudding topping with other stores before). This is used to be my favorite mountain tea place and I am so sorry for giving you a 1 star rating. However, a bad stomache that makes me cannot sleep is not really acceptable in my dictionary. read more

Giving an extra star for the delicious cakes, I have no complaints about them. However the employees have the worst attitudes ever. The boba tea here also gave me "stomach issues" if you know what I mean. I got the oolang milk tea and it was good but I kept gagging wanting to throw up as if my body was rejecting something. My bathroom definitely hated me today as well. I'm assuming it was the boba because it was hard as rocks. Out of the other 85 bakeries near me, this place has the most consistent quality of breads, cake, and drinks. When I went there was a variety of breads and all of them looked fresh. Although it was busy they were able to keep up with the output of the bakery items. All of the cakes behind the glass looked fresh and not dry. I ordered the grapefruit green tea and it was perfect. The drink was not too sweet and was not sour (which I was afraid of). Overall the quality of the items in there were amazing. However, when I walked in I saw that there was only one trashcan area and it was overfilling with trash. The trash covered the floor around it and the counter. Normally I wouldn't complain as much but this is the same counter where you get your napkins and utensils. read more

Not a bad place but not a great place. I came here to get their black tea but the drink I had was very lukewarm and there were no flavor whatsoever, I was confused while I was drinking it. I didn't bother to get their baked goods even though they looked really really good but the last experience I had (some bread goodies) from that place was a major disappointment, so I didn't want to get those again - although I wish they do sell more macaroons since I know they did sell them before. I hope they bring it back as a permanent thing. Their desserts up front looked also delicious, so I may give another chance to try it next time. This is the closest 85C bakery to my house so I frequent this location often. I don't have any complaints about their food. I've gotten a variety of breads, pastries, and desserts from here and have never had anything that tasted bad or looked bad. I've tried some hot drinks and some cold drinks and they've always been up to par. The store is usually clean and well kept so no complaints there either. However, the only complain I do have (as with a bunch of other reviews) is the service here. I've encountered way more grumpy cashiers here than happy ones. The manager (I believe she is an Indian lady) is unhelpful and also grumpy. There are no smiley "hellos" or "welcomes" at all. After the barista makes your drink, they don't pass it to you with a smile or a "enjoy" type of attitude. It's more like they just shove it on the counter and hope you leave ASAP. It's really a shame because 85C is such a respected establishment in other places and this location is not a good representation of its name. read more

Got the $0.10 coffee promotion and jasmine green milk tea. Drinks took a while because everyone was trying to get the cheap coffee. Coffee was good. Milk tea wasn't too sweet. Boba had a plasticy taste though Was able to get the free tote but not the cup. Asked 3 workers about if they were out of the cups/how do I get it and each one gave me a different answer so they need to work on communicating/knowing the same information. read more

My rating is only on my order and how it was handled.... I got the sea salt jasmine green tea LESS sea salt, EXTRA ice. Get my order and its little ice. I requested for a cup of ice and the response I got was.... (not word for word) I didn't put lots of ice because it wouldn't be the same ratio because of less sea salt.... so I didn't add more ice... but I can remake it for you. I love this bakery by far! The cakes taste so delicious. They bake the cakes every 30 minutes so you can be sure they will be fresh. My favorite cake is called "egg tart". They have several locations in dallas and I been to all of them. Friendly staff, prices are some what pricy in my opinion, but the over all atmosphere is relaxing. Check this place out. read more

I used to love this place PRE Covid, when they used to close later in the evening, I would drop by while taking my dog for a ride and buy my drink. Customer service WAS excellent. The employees WERE courteous. Products are good and still are. I dropped by today to claim my unused coffee coupon, since I haven't used it for awhile and wanted to use my tons of points to redeem add ons, I had to remove my mask to unlock my phone for this process and took me awhile to get it right ( lady was rudely guiding me ) . Since I could barely hear what that lady is saying, my face was partially out of the barrier and she rudely asked to put my mask back on, I absolutely have NO problem with that but this lady NEEDS a refresher on courtesy and customer service on HOW to say it in a nice/better way- maybe a please (obviously this WAS UNINTENTIONAL on my part!!!). Finally done with paying, just handed me the receipt without any acknowledgment or thank you. Much as I love this place, please realize that there are so much more establishments needing our business at these hard times. The long time employees would know me as I am a familiar face there. I got a strawberry chocolate mousse cake for a friend's birthday. To my horror and embarrassment 2 of the 3 strawberries on it were covered in mold that you can't possibly ignore. Nice small to medium sized shop. Before I say anything else, everyone, please, stop shaking the sea salt coffee! You're supposed to take a sip/lick of the salty, buttery, cream then sip some of the coffee to get a nice contrast of flavor. If you've had it the correct way and still prefer shaking and mixing everything together, then I guesssssssss. The brioche is my favorite, hands down. It's incredibly soft, slightly sweet. I love ordering it when it's fresh. You have to eat it asap! All 800+ calories of it... but don't think about that, just put it in your mouth. However, I didn't get the brioche on this day. I was in the mood for something savory. Shouldn't have gone in when I was hungry but dumpling house was closed in between lunch and dinner. I ended up buying and eating 4 savory pastries(you can wat two at once if you have one in each hand). I love the simplicity of the ham and cheese thing. Lots of butter, cheese, ham and more butter. Try the Hawaiian chicken if you're a fan of Hawaiian pizza(cpk). I felt like I should order something sweet so I asked the cashier, Ngan, what pastry she recommends. I do have to state that I feel they have been getting a little sloppy in their quality and attention to detail of producing baked goods. Ex. Some being overcooked, bakery items being dry and not fresh as they were 2 months ago. With that being said, i love the wide spread array of choices with various flavor profile. My favorite is cheese bun! I usally mix them up, upto 20 items. They are light, fluffy and if you go early AM are fresh. I kept getting the stale end of it, however. The employees were literally replacing the baked goods as you took them from the cabinet. We tried The Egg Tart, The Mushroom Pizza, The Coconut Twist, The Guava Pastry, The Blueberry Muffin and The Mango Bread. 4 of the 6 were delicious. Top notch! All of the food is yummy and made fresh daily. They have an interesting bakery/cafeteria style setup (kind of like La Madeline) and quick service. The cafe feels very clean and open with family style seating available, along with intimate tables for the lone rangers out there. It awesome to see 85 degrees in Texas! The first and last time I went to one was in Cali! They have so many good and savory breads and pastries in here. We went really late one night around 10:30pm. They still had a lot of variety but I question their freshness. I'm sure most of the stuff were baked earlier in the day. It was still good but not as fresh as I would have like but that's my fault for going in late at night. Anyways, I never had tried their taro cake before. I tried it and it was pretty good but not as strong as I would have liked it. The flavor was a little faint and it's because they use REAL TARO! which is awesome! And not the artificial power. The cake just needed a little more taro that's all. My little cousin loves their salted bread and raves about it. That was also pretty good. I had tried another bread, I wish I would of remembered the name but it wasn't good. Maybe because it wasn't fresh. I really love 85 Degrees. I love all the baked goods that ranges from savory to sweet. I love hot dog buns and pork sung buns! My favorite sweet buns are the marble taro, chocolate cookie bun, and the hokkaido cheese tart which is like super rich cheesecake. I haven't tried much of their cakes or coffees/teas, but they look good. I've been here a few times whenever I shop at 99 Ranch or Daiso. The one thing that I noticed about this location is how painfully slow they bag each baked item. Everytime I come here, a different staff member is struggling to put the baked item inside the bag. I know it sounds picky, but I am used to other locations where staff members are strikingly fast in bagging, especially when there is a long line and folks get 15-20 items at a time! However, every time I've come here, it's pretty slow and there isn't a line so I guess there really isn't a rush to bag items so quickly. But it would still be nice! Overall, I am glad we are able to easily get 85 Degrees on this side of Plano, so I can get my usual marble taro fix! Enjoy. read more

I LOVE 85 Degrees!!! It reminds me of back home (California). I was so excited when I saw that they have a location just one exit from where I live now. As expected, they have a yummy array of pastries and baked goods, along with various drinks. My only issue is that any item with meat in is just says "meat" but doesn't specify the type of meat that's in it. I'm going to have to really stay away or else I can easily eat here every day. Not sure if the lines here are the same as they are in Cali, but get there early in the morning, especially on weekends, or else the line can get out the door. read more

Walked in to a very bright and clean looking establishment then stood around for a minute or two trying to figure out what to do next, other than look at all the food, sweet and savory, in clear plastic shelves, similar to where you get your donuts at Kroger or whatever. Then I spied the tries to the left and tongues hanging up. I made a few selections and went up to the check out. If there's a line you're going to have to stand and wait with your tray since there's only a small area to rest it as you get to the front of the line. The thing that shocked me the most was that every individual item I purchased was placed into its own plastic bag with 85ºC printed on it and then put into another bag. Me and my wife looked at each other aghast at the waste that was going on in front of our eyes. In the end, the food wasn't too bad but a little disappointing. The blueberry muffins didn't really have any blueberries inside. There has to be a better way to work something like this, but I can't, in good conscience, and shop here, watching all that waste on my behalf. It was an interesting stop for a one off. read more

Yay for one opening up in Plano! Driving to Carrolton isn't fun at all. Plus the tollway fees add up. This girl needs her sweets. Luckily for me, there's one close. Well kind of. A year ago it was, now I'm on the other side of Plano, but it's still better than nothing. The bread here is always delicious and baked fresh all day. Just don't get here too late because there won't be much left to try. I personally prefer the sweeter ones over the savory ones and those tend to run out first, especially my beloved milk bread. Oh so good. Some other favorites are the taro bread and of course the egg tarts. The actual desserts aren't bad at all. We always get the cakes for birthdays. Be warned, for those more familiar with American cakes, these are much less sweet and way lighter. It's a little different, or very, but definitely amazing. The drinks are also a win. I love the coffee here. I tend to go for just plain coffee, but sometimes the caramel one is pretty good. Also for teas, definitely try the mountain green tea.
