The employees were all sweet and the service to check out was surprisingly fast! I had 8 people lined up in front me and I only waited about 5 mins. They have a lot of bread and cake varieties. I would recommend getting their egg tarts and brioche bread!! The mango brûlée cake is my favorite cake and their royal chocolate cup is delicious too! Wow! I don't know if it's a good thing or a sad thing that 85C Bakery Cafe does not have a location near my house! I would be so fat with all the carbs I would consume if this place weren't so far from me. I came here and just loaded up on breads all we're so amazingly good! I got this kolache type thing,.. it was just right in every sense,.. okay it would have been better had it included jalapeños. I also got a Torro cake or Toro,.. something like that! I really like 85C. A lot. They have a wide array of very good baked goods: excellent cakes and even better pastries. What sets them apart though is that they also have a respectable coffee setup. Nice to have an 85 so close to home! This location is smaller than Carrollton as far as seating goes. But it's still nicely stocked with my favorite baked goods. I always get bacon cheese bread, cheese bread, and egg tarts. Love their drinks too as they're not too sweet. My go to is the mixed berry green tea. Me nnd my husband love this place and we come here for breakfast a lot. The mixed drinks and breads are very tasty! My only problem is the emloyees - Haydee in particular. She is the rudest and most unwelcoming person I have EVER met. She always looks like she has a stick up her ass and hates her job. She obviously does not want to be working here and it shows. I have had to bite my tongue numerous times when she snaps at me. Rude rude rude. If managment is reading, I suggest training her on customer service and asking her to SMILE at customers instead of glaring and not to speak down at them. I usually try to avoid checking out at her register. She is the reason I knocked a star off. Another reason for the second start is that the coffee line is way to long. Takes forever. The atmosphere and the selection is not for the traditional crowd. It had a very clean open vibe and the selection makes you really have to think about the combos for breakfast . This is a hidden gem off of spring creek and believe this will be a trip I make before work in the future. I think I may have found me new obsession in north Texas! My friend was dying to go here so I could try it and I will have to say everything that we bought was soooo delicious! We got a variety of things and took bites of each and also had coffee and tea which was also great. It's busy so expect a little bit of a wait to pay and receiver your drinks but it was worth it. Great size establishment, could use some cleaning of the tables but other then that it was great. I will definitely be back soon to try something we didn't have last night! I haven't been here in person, but I was visiting Dallas with a friend and she was kind enough to bring me an espresso roll and an Apple danish from this place. The roll was amazing -- danish too, but the espresso roll blew me away. Light, fluffy, just sweet enough to be perfect with coffee. Sea salt coffee without cream is the unique drink to get here. They automatically include cream so if you want a rich drink, order as is. You can get other flavors but I get sweet breads so I skip the sweet drink. The breads are unique with different creams, there are egg tarts, cakes and savory breakfast type breads too with meat and egg. read more

We now make this a monthly stop. The breads that this place puts out are fantastic! I have not found a single product that is substandard. They offer great dessert breads as well as dinner breads from all over the world. Of course, our favorite are the dessert breads. If you've ever been to the Carrollton bakery, then you might think that this one will be just as crowded, hectic, and dirty. However, this location's bakery is a lot more well maintained. I came here on a Friday night and the line was manageable, plenty of baked goods still available, and room to sit at the tables. My favorite breads to get are the egg tarts and marbled taro. These are available in both locations. I also got a red bean smoothie, topped with real red bean. It was in a giant cup that was a good size for sharing with my boyfriend. Overall, I liked how clean and laid back this store is, even though it's new. Better management, I guess? read more

Yes...just A-OK. Stopped by on Saturday and tried the berrytale, brioche and kouign amann. The price point is fine and I snagged one of the bright red tote bags which I wasn't aware that it was a promotional item. It was busy but the line was not out the door. There were two registers open for the bakery items and one for the cakes/drinks. Some consideration may need to be given in how they handle customers who have purchased a few dozen egg tarts. There was a gentlemen in line who did just that and it took two workers to package the tarts. So this took away one of the two lines available for checkout for a considerable amount of time. As far as the taste, everything was fresh, but there wasn't a wow factor. Would I go again? Sure. One of the things that turned me off was one of the ingredients in most of their cakes...high fructose corn syrup...for me that's a no-go. read more

"Fresh bread!" So the Plano location is finally open! The bread is as fresh as ever, the staffs are all eager to please. This is apparently a training/interview day because when we walked in, there are several interviews going on, and a group of new employees trying to memorize the menu. LOL! We got a few breads, sea salt coffee and sea salt jasmine tea. I appreciate the fact that they didn't fill 2/3 of the cup with ice. But the drinks are not cold at all. This brand of bakery is fairly new to the DFW area so why not try it out on a super busy Sunday afternoon right? We were there between 1-2PM and it was busy!!! It has the traditional bakery idea where you get a tray and a pair of tongs and go to town loading up with things you have no idea what will taste like. Seriously, your eyes are doing the eating here. The line flows from the tray pick up through the cases and you definitely don't want to be the one who doesn't follow this - in this case, be a follower, please. They do a good job with making sure the name and calorie cards are posted for each item. There is a dining area with large family tables and tables for 2. Once you get all that you can hold, you have to bag each one in individual cellophane bags while you wait in line to check out. After this, you're at the register where you can order a cold dessert from the case or any of their beverages and coffee products. The husband ordered at latte which took about a 5 to 7 minute wait while the baristas were inundated with a whole bunch of orders. Our total for the latte plus 3 pastries was $9. Overall, the experience was interesting, the breads are of a higher quality and very tasty!! Only downside is the line and droves of people packed into a small area. read more

Ugh this place is such a disappointment. The Carrollton location has better fare. The mango creek brûlée cake was dry and the artificial coloring left a bitter after taste. The coffee chip bun was dry, as was the burnt chocolate chip cookie. The only thing that was half way decent was the milk pudding bun. I'm not sure what's the difference between the Carrollton location and here but they need to improve the quality of their baked goods and not just rely on their sister location's laurels. read more

The store manager Jenny in Plano Store is so rude and not polite. I brought two egg tarts yesterday. And I tested they are not sweet. I bring them back today that I would like to solve the problem. Clean environment and while staff was pleasant they didn't go out of their way to be helpful. Honestly staff is only reason they are getting 4/5 stars. Again, not horrible; just not helpful. Food was good and boba drinks were amazing. I recommend pulling up their website beforehand to see deals and coupons. I don't even know where to begin. I've been searching for something that reminds me of home. And this bakery definitely takes me back to my home country. I remember going to the one in Hong Kong. The bread and pastries are as authentic as they can get! If you'd like to experience true Asian bread and pastries, give this a try! The bakery here is amazing. Everything is delicious and the place is always clean and well kept. We went in to get a bunch of different cakes for my twins' birthday and the process was quick, easy, and we got a lot of compliments and questions on where we got the cakes themselves. I could probably eat something from here for breakfast every morning if I wasn't worried about my weight! The staff is adorable and knowledgeable. It was my first time coming to try this place,came in around 11:30pm october 21st trying to buy a danish( $2.10 ).The lady cashier made me wait 15-20 minutes because the credit card machine was not working, after that she asked me if I had cash and i said no, then she asked me if she could write down my credit card information to charge me later and I said no because it was only 2 bucks and why do you need to take down my personal information for ?? After 20 minutes the cashier lady took the Danish back and said sorry, I walked out without being able to try anything from this place. Wife and I enjoyed a nice Sunday afternoon iced coffee and shared a piece of Black Forest cake. Prices were affordable. Service was pleasant. Patrons were pleasant too. Some were studying and some were family. It was a nice mix. The bakery offered a nice variety of fresh items. Wiping down tables was the only weak spot.
