Hey have chocolate xlb which drizzles out chocolate when you bite into it. They also have a deep fried brown sugar dumpling. . They have soup dumpling like xlb. Also the pan fried xlb which is crispy and dough and soupy inside. . Service here is quick and attentive. They are good with the refilling water. Also I do love their noodle dish with generous portion. . You order on the tablet which is convenient and you can see what you order and pay when your done. The ambiance is family friendly. My family and I finally made it to 88 Bao Bao, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. Everything tasted fresh, authentic, and made with care. We ordered a variety of dishes so we could try as much as possible, and every single item was a hit. The pan-fried pork buns were perfectly crispy on the outside with a juicy, flavorful filling. The soup dumplings were packed with rich broth, the beef roll was delicious, and the black garlic chashu noodles were incredibly flavorful. Even the garlic green beans, which are usually an afterthought at many restaurants, were some of the best I've had. To top it all off, we finished with the chocolate dumplings and fried brown sugar mochi, and they were the perfect ending to an amazing meal. The service was friendly, attentive, and welcoming from the moment we walked in. As a mom, I also appreciated how family-friendly the restaurant was. We never felt rushed, and the staff made sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal. If you're looking for authentic Chinese comfort food with incredible flavors and consistently great service, 88 Bao Bao is absolutely worth the visit. We'll definitely be back to work our way through the rest of the menu!

I came here after work around 3pm and it's more peaceful less crowd. This is my 3rd time here I think. Im craving for xiao long bao that's why Im here because their pork xiao long bao is my all time favorite. Since this restaurant opened last year I always stop by everytime I crave for xiao long bao. It is so goooddd, especially when you add a garlic sauce it hit the spot right there. I tried their crab ragoon but its okay, good but nothing special about it, their crab ragoon is served with a sweet sauce. The staffs are very friendly and they keep their restaurant very clean. I highly recommend this place whenever your craving xiao long bao they have a variety of flavors.
Cute little place. You can order right at a kiosk at your table. We got some chow mein, dumplings, and potstickers. Prices were really good and if you wanted a waitress, they were there to assist and help you with anything you need. I wish the pot stickers were a little more fried and seasoned a little better. All in all, loved it.
I am from out of town but have been to other 88 Bao Bao locations, and this one is pretty much the same. The menu items are very basic and just don't have much flavor. The location is nice and seems to be in a newer part of town. It's also super close to Thunder Valley Casino, so it's a decent alternative if you don't want to eat at the casino itself. Convenient, but nothing special. Also, I believe there are now 3 dumplings places in Roseville; definitely more choices of restaurants to choose from.
I wanted to try this restaurant for awhile now and I finally did on Monday. The decor is really nice with tall ceilings, plenty of tables and the staff was very friendly. I proceeded to order the Pork Lumpia, the garlic green beans, and the vegetable rice noodle plate. I ordered this to go and tried to eat it at home. Unfortunately, the food was very bland. The pork lumpia was very small and I'm wondering if it was previously frozen. The sautéed rice noodles with vegetables with severely lacking in vegetables... it had a few green beans that looked like they were out of a can, sliced red pinion, a scrambled egg & I could barely see any carrot...that's it. It had no flavor even after I drenched it and Sriracha and sweet chili sauce. The garlic green beans had plenty of garlic that you could see, but it also had no flavor and they were shriveled up green beans from being overcooked I believe. The proportions were large but for $37.55. I was expecting a lot more flavor. Unfortunately, I will not be going back to try anything else, which is really disappointing.
We stopped by for an early dinner on Mother's Day! The inside was open seating and we easily found a comfortable table to dine at. You place your order with the screen at each table. The staff will bring you water or utensils if needed (there is a bucket of chopsticks on each table). All the food we got was pretty good. The green beans were sautéed perfect so they didn't lose the crunch. The shumai dumplings were so good. They were good size too! The soup dumplings were good but elevated when adding the provided sauces and chili oil as a topping. My mom felt like the rangoons could have been crispier but also mentioned that she likes the thicker wrappers they seem to use. Overall we had good food, good seating, and staff were nice and attentive. Would definitely stop by again!
Came in for dinner on a Saturday night and was surprised the place was not busy. We were immediately seated upon arriving. The service was fast, efficient and really good. We ordered on the computer on our table. It was easy to navigate and you can take your time choosing what you want. We ordered a bunch of different food as follows: Appetizer - pork lumpia - grilled squid Main -shanghai style shrimp chow mien -chicken fried rice -Pan fried pork bun -sautéed garlic green beans -wonton in chili oil -orange chicken -crab & pork xiao long bao -shrimp and pork shaomai -wonton soup -pork potstickers -shrimp dumplings Dessert -sesame balls We were surprised it only took about 3 minutes for our food to start coming in. We were not expecting it to be that fast. The food was great. The flavors were on point and authentic. Their chili oil sauce was spicy and partners good with the dimsum. Another surprise was we got 2 free dumpling squishies after paying. The server said it's a complimentary gift when you spend $100 (you get 1).
Wanted some dumplings and decided to try out this place with my family for dinner. You have the option to order at the counter or if able to sit down and enjoy the dim sum if a table is available. When you do sit down you get a "homey" feel and dim sum is just like asian soul food lol. There are servers but how you can order is through the ipad on your table which lists all the offered items and they'll bring it out to you. The food was so good and reasonably priced for the amount you get. We ordered xiao long bao, the chow mein, har gao and shu mai. We also got the grilled squid and ramen for my husband. Everything came out hot and fresh and the garlic sauce with the dumplings is like soo good i almost finished the whole bottle on my table. Definitely a go-to when craving soup dumplings and a recommendation for anyone looking for good dim sun within the west roseville area
This place always hits! I forgot to take a picture of their dumplings but I got veggie ones and also shrimp ones. The veggie ones are my fav! There's an assortment of veggies inside. I wish their fried rice and chow mein came with veggies in them; but the flavor is good. When I'm craving ramen, I come here.
4.5 out of 5 A quaint place that isnt about the ambiance but more about the food. True Chinese style with a slightly Americanized twist/fusion. We started with the beef roll, 10/10 highly recommend. My wife described it as pho in a roll and I'd say thats pretty accurate. The pancake was crispy but fluffy, beef tender and not too much hoisin...just enough. Shumai is on the smaller side, especially for the cost, but just ok in my opinion. Wife liked them. Pork and chicken dumplings have a thicker skin, but they weren't too chewy. Very juicy so be careful.... As a matter of fact everything is super juicy. The pan fried dumplings were so juicy, as a matter of fact, that theyre practically dangerous. I suggest poking a vent hole in each one as soon as you get them, but even then 5 minutes later the juice inside is still lava. Texture was incredible. So soft and fluffy on the outside, but very crunchy on the bottom yet also somehow fluffy. Chili oil dumplings have the same filling as the pork and chive dumplings, but with much thinner skins. One positive is that the skins don't disintegrate like in other spots. Real szechuan oil that numbs the mouth. Not really spicy but fills a craving if youre looking for something din tai fungish. All in all definitely worth the visit.

Creative little bottom baked bao, unique, nice presentation, but watch out for the juicy seasoned soup surprise inside, they are much like the pork and leek dumplings only baked. Not traditional baked chashu bao. Flavorful shumai and perfectly seasoned cucumbers. I'm a traditional dim sum style lunch person probably more Cantonese style, but these were a different style and very good if you enjoy the little thicker skins with juicy filling. Fantastic service and great food! We came in and were greeted and seated immediately. You are able to place your order on a little device at the table, which is nice because you can look through the menu and select all of the things you wanted. Everything looked amazing so it was hard to pick! The food came out quickly and did not disappoint. We got the beef roll, pork buns, and potstickers. Everything was piping hot and delicious. Also, this restaurant is extremely clean. Something I witnessed that I appreciate, after customers would leave, the staff would not only clean the table, but also clean all the condiment bottles as well. Every time! Who hasn't went to grab a sauce and latched onto a sticky bottle covered in fingerprints? Not here! The staff is amazing. We looking for something to eat and saw there was an 88 Bao Bao. We've been to the one in Rancho and liked it before, so we decided to try this new location. Inside was busy but we were able to get a table. There are several tables and booths. Each table has a tablet to order. Food came out pretty fast after ordering. Everything was great. We got the ramen, beef roll, chili oil wonton, and pan fried buns. The pan fried buns were our favorites. The beef roll was also good and beef was tender and decent slices. There was a vinegar sauce, garlic sauce, and chili oil on the table. The garlic sauce has a nice sweetness to it. Staff were nice. They helped keep our waters full and checked in on us. Ordered online through Door Dash on a Wednesday evening. When I went to pick up my order, they gave me someone else's and I didn't notice until I got home, so I had to drive back and get my order. Kinda both out faults for not double checking. I ordered the popcorn chicken, xiao long bao, bbq pork buns, and garlic green beans. The portion size of the green beans is huge and lasts several meals. The flavor and texture of everything is good. Loved the pork buns. I got to keep the other person's order and it was wontons in chili oil, chicken ramen, and the golden fried buns with condensed milk. I liked the buns the best. read more

88 Bao Bao has become one of our new local favorites. Conveniently located off of Blue Oaks. We love the ordering process and having a personal kiosk at your table. This way you can settle in and not be rushed to order. Once you place an order, the food comes out right away. Everything is so fresh and delicious. Carb desires lead us here, the restaurant has simple and steaming bao oriented decorations. Once you see the utensils--- the red steam dumpling spoon, you get the idea --this restaurant takes the Xiao Long Bao seriously. We ordered the xiao long bao, soupy chewy and yummy. At this moment I personally like the thick skin, but I usually prefer the very thin and almost see through type of XLB wrapper. Also like the green bean dish, generous portion, convincing taste and good combo with Xiao Long Bao. Meanwhile, I enjoyed the sweet rice - shaomai. The texture and the flavor just reminded me of childhood memory. Great place for carb hunter. Five stars for the chef. Unfortunately one star off due to service, nobody lead the seat or serve us water until everyone else ( who came in after us) got the drink. Perhaps this is one exception that we ran into. Savory and delicious soup dumplings!! Bask in the glory of each bite of their soup dumplings with their vingegar/soy sauce and ginger mix. Service was fantastic, food was brought out timely, we were seated promptly (luckily had a couple tables open), plenty of parking in this plaza right out front, and pretty good taste from the other dishes. Ambience is more of a "hang loose," modernized environment but still nice for all occasions. Biggest plus for us was the ability to order straight away from our table's hub. Modern technology for the winner! Similar to Kura sushi, place your order on your private panel, sit back, relax, and let the food come to you without a hitch! Bit pricey for our liking given the selection and food offered compared to other competitors in the area. Even driving out a little further can get us similar Chinese food (or better) at a more affordable cost. Nice to have another bao and dumpling restaurant in the area, but nothing stood out to us to the point that we'd change up our already established favorite go to's. Is it worth a shot? Yes! Is it a great place to eat if you want to stay within minimal local range? Absolutely! Is it something new and different compared to other spots offering the same food groups? Not really, but better off leaving that up to your own interpretation! read more
Came back again to try their other menu! I love that htere is no interaction since you can order everything thru the ipad on every table. The service was fast and freshly cooked. The grilled squid is my absolute favorite. It was cooked perfectly. The fried rice is sooo good that i finished off everything. The shumai is perfect and the wonton chili oil. Beef rolls are little too sweet but still good. Love the place and they are very quick and price is very affordable as well. Will come back again for sure. One of our chinese go to place. read more
Let's Talk A-Bao Bao [Roseville CA] Bookmarked this restaurant ever since I read Micki's review and finally made it here today for an early dinner... I can only say good things about this place and repeat what others have already mentioned. They specialize in handcrafted Xiao Long Baos and dumplings, all made from scratch with the finest ingredients. We ordered Chicken & Egg Fried Rice, Crab & Pork XLB (8), Shrimp & Pork Shao Mai (8). The delicate skin and scrumptious soupy filling of the Crab & Pork XLB was very good as we first slurped up the soup, then enjoyed the tender wrapper and the tasty filling. The pork and shrimp filling of the Shao Mai was flavored with fragrant ginger and scallion... they were a good size too! We also enjoyed the Chicken & Egg Fried Rice to complement the dim sums. Guests place their food and beverage orders at the tablet located on each table (this is nice because we didn't feel rushed). Heard there was a new dumpling place nearby. Was excited to try it. Got a 20% off coupon in the mail which was great! Ordered on the phone and had to physically show them the coupon for the discount. Got xiao long bao, crab rangoon, bbq pork buns, pork pan fried soup dumplings, grilled squid. The grilled squid was a little chewy and overcooked but we liked the sweet chili sauce it was served in. The pan fried pork buns were delicious! Had a good amount of filling, soup to dough ratio. Better than other places nearby! The bbq pork buns didn't have enough filling to the bread ratio however but the pork was good. The crab rangoon was a little soggy by the time we ate it and I probably better at the restaurant. Overall prices are fairly high but it was reasonable with the coupon and service was good. read more
Sunday, 8/24/2025 - went to 88 Bao Bao for some dumplings. Address is 4181 Thrive Dr., Roseville, CA 95678. Looks like they just opened not too long ago. Our first time at this location. Upon arrival... Pros 1) their is parking and many other stores around this little plaza. We got parking easily. 2) as soon as you walk in, you can sit anywhere that's open. Our table was clean. I saw staffs quickly cleaning tables as soon as the customer left their table. Great job, staffs!!! 3) there's an ordering machine on each table. You order your food there and they will bring it out to you. They were pretty quick with our orders. Came out all nice and hot. 4) we always get our usual at this restaurant and love it. 5) staffs were nice. Server got us each a cup of water. The milk tea was good. There is a water refill station if you run out. 6) chopsticks and condiments on table. 7) restaurant was full when we arrived. They are busy. 8) bathroom is clean and smelled clean. 2 bathroom with 1 stall in each. Cons 1) they have only 3 sauces: vinegar, garlic sauce, and chili oil. But... grateful they had sauces to dip in. The garlic sauce was good 2) I didn't see any extra napkins on the table. But I think I saw some on the shelf where all the to-go containers were. I think. I can't remember now lol. Sorry. 3) no mirror in bathroom. Conclusion We like 88 Bao Bao and will be returning. This is a cute little restaurant to grab a little something quickly and off you go. The staffs were very nice. Glad that they have a water refill station so you don't have to sit waiting for someone to get you water. The foods came out pretty quick. read more
I bookmarked this place recently to try it out. It's newer to Roseville and I'm surprised how many dumpling restaurants Roseville has. I chose to order take out from this restaurant because its competitors here in Roseville close for 1.5 hours between lunch and dinner. Which, was the time window I wanted to order. 88 Bao Nao does not close like its competitors...so Bao Bao it is. I placed an online order for Pork Xiao Long Bao soup dumplings, orange chicken, and Shanghai chowmein with shrimp. All of it was delicious and there was a $5 off offer automatically applied at checkout. That was nice but I'm not sure how long that offer is valid. The chowmein was some of the best I've had in this area. I was raised on South Sacramento Asian food. It's not easy to find comparable food in Roseville. This is comparable. My favorite were the pork soup dumplings, the filling was yummy. Orange chicken was good and there are no chili flakes in case that matters to anyone ordering. Vinegar, sauce, and chili oil were included in my takeout order for the soup dumplings of course. I'll definitely order from this location again. read more
Located in between AXed and Mochinut, 88 Bao Bao is the newest eatery in this mall. The three of us came for dinner and got seated instantly. We chose one of the many booths. The ambiance is more like a fast food eatery but with better service. We ordered from the tablet at the table and the servers bring out your food quickly. We ordered: *Chili wontons *Shrimp fried rice *Shanghai Chow Mein *Beef rolls *Orange chicken *Brown Sugar Boba milk tea We enjoyed all of our entrees and can't wait to go back! Broth tasted like a tonkotsu but a bit bland. Noodles were ok. Egg tasted good. Price was good. 4 stars Shrimp & Pork Shaomai. Good price for 8. Good flavor. Pretty good 5 stars Egg fried rice. 01.16.26 Hubs & I decided to give this place a try (it'd been on my list since they opened) for dinner before heading to a show. It was the perfect place for great food and quick service--wanted a sit down but didn't have enough time to make it too leisurely. Bao Bao came through and made quite the impression--we'll definitely be back!! It was a Friday night around 6:30pm, prime dinner time and as we got out our car from parking, which the lot had enough for all the small establishments nearby (like Mochinut, Pizza Twist, and an Axe throwing spot next door), we saw the place was packed. We just hoped we'd get in, otherwise we'd try someplace else. Luckily, there was 1 booth table available! We took a seat and used the kiosk tablet at the table to look at the menu. Almost immediately sitting, a server brought cups of water, nice. After perusing the entire menu offerings, which has a great variety of dumplings to fried rice to veggie dishes to ramen--something to please any palette no doubt! Hubs and I decided on getting their Beef Roll, since it was notated as "Best". We also had to order some xiaolong bao of the pork variety (I may need to come back and try the shrimp for myself since Hubs doesn't really seafood), along with steamed rice and a Pepsi. What's nice about this kiosk ordering is the ability to customize each dish--Hubs not being a veg fan liked seeing he could if he wanted elect a dish without. I personally like that too since had we ordered chow mein, neither of us like bean sprouts. After confirming order through the tablet, the server right away brought our bottled Pepsi. We asked for some ice, which was brought back immediately. I then asked for a straw and was obliged--service is quick and fine pleasantly! Before our food began trickling to our table, I looked around to take it all in. Again, definitely popular. I liked seeing the kitchen with Asian cooks, which was busy making orders. Also noticed they did a lot of takeout orders, which I forgot to mention was also an option thru the table kiosk tablet. Lots of families in there enjoying a meal together, of both Caucasian and 'authentic' Asian ethnicity. I point these things out, not because I racial profile (to be clear, I love people of all ethnicities and our diverse cultures!), but sometimes there is some truth to stereotypes. Several orders from others would go by and they all looked and SMELLED really good!! Seeing all the different persons of age and race, I knew in my gut we'd have some good eating here. The place isn't too big either, so I could easily see wait times for eat-in service on a busy night. First item to arrive was rice. Shortly after, the soup dumplings. We said our meal blessings and looked up to see the last dish, the beef roll, also on the table. Yay! We both dug in, I went with the dumpling first. I was surprised at how thick the wrapper was, which typically isn't a good sign. However, I was pleasantly surprised when I bit in and tasted yummy deliciousness!! It was hot but didn't burn my mouth, just perfect! And the soup broth was great just as is. I always first try dishes as they're served to see how they taste on their own, and the pork xiaolong bao was super in that regard. BUT, mama knew she'd be adding some more flavors, especially seeing the table condiments had chili oil--a MUST for those who enjoy a spicy kick in their food--and included vinegar as well as a 'garlic sauce'. Let me tell you, I tried each of these additional flavors on every item we ordered...sometimes one at a time and sometimes all together. Never was I mad at any of it!! Hubs tried the beef roll first and once he took a bite I instantly heard that sound of approval--"MMMMM!!!"--almost with a shocked/surprised tone. Y'all know what I'm talk'n 'bout! I quickly responded, " Oh yeah?" He nodded and said it was soo good. So, after my first dumpling, I gave the roll a try. Started with an end piece, it looked like a fried thin burrito of sorts. Not greasy, or with a lot of breading, I took a bite and knew what Hubs meant. Yummy was right!! It very much felt like a fried tortilla on the outside, with tender marinated sliced beef on the inside, with that hint of fresh cilantro herb in there. The marinade was sorta teriyaki-ish but more sweet hoisin sauce-esque. Quite good and we both understood why it's labeled "Best" on the menu. Once again, I added more flavor, which it didn't really need but was still great with the condiments! Of course the plain steamed rice was just that, so the condiments added something to that as well. Apparently Hubs didn't see the Fried Rice offerings, but I told him I saw another patron eating some and we'll definitely go that route next time. All-in-all, 88 Bao Bao is EASILY a 5-star if our experience is anything like what a typical meal is. So, give 88 Bao Bao a try and support this amazing local business!!! read more

The food was great! The dim sum is really delish and that sweet vinegar dipping sauce goes crazy! The price is where they lose me. $45+ for 3 items is really pricey for dim sum. I would have to say, the price reflects the area. I really like the food, but the value just isn't there for me. Will I doubleback?? No sir. read more

Visited for dinner mid week. Staff was polite. Ordering takes place on the tablets. Food came out timely. Ordered: Pork XiaoLongBao - Cooked well, soup was good, great flavor Leek and Pork Dumpling - Cooked well, good flavor Beef Roll - Fried well, great taste Fried Mantou - Spectacular Black and Gold Molten Lava Bun - Not for me. The filling was sort of a melted custard very gritty. Sesame Ball - Good taste but wished they were the big ones. Wiish the portion sizes were a little larger for the price but overall I would certainly come back. read more

88 Bao Bao held its Grand Opening the weekend of June 20-22, 2025. To celebrate, you got a 20% discount off your entire bill, and if you were the first 100 customers of the day, you received your choice of either Mango Green Tea or Brown Sugar Milk Tea. Mango Green Tea 3/5: I was lucky to be one of the last To Go customers to get the free tea on the first day. I got there a little after 12 noon, so those freebies went fast! I chose the Mango Green Tea. I heard the young woman manager saying their drinks aren't too sweet. You get a tall cup, maybe 16 oz. You can taste the mango flavor faintly. I would say it's watered down, but it's healthier and easier to gulp that way. Refreshing on a hot day. Beef Rolls 4/5: Thanks to 88 Bao Bao for being the first local restaurant in Roseville to offer Beef Rolls! I got 2 rolls each cut up into 4 pieces. I like to reheat 1-3 pieces in the toaster oven. I eat them as a fun breakfast snack before I go work out. It's not the most seasoned or marinated beef I've ever eaten or cooked, but this menu item makes me happy. Sautéed Garlic Green Beans 5/5: Generous portion. I had vegetable sides for several meals. Fresh and green. Pork XiaoLongBao 3/5: Soup Dumplings are best eaten when dining in, so they are eaten hot, so they don't get deflated and retain all the soup, and remain spaced out from one another. I ordered mine to go, so I had to carefully separate them by hand in hopes the wrappers wouldn't get a hole in them. The meat wasn't as tender as I would like, more like a little meatball. The wrapper on top was too thick where all the folds gathered. Shrimp & Pork ShaoMai (Shumai) 3/5: These are small. All 8 fit in a small To Go container. Make sure to eat them hot or reheated. I thought the meat was dense. Leek & Pork & Shrimp Steamed Dumplings 5/5: These were yummy even when not perfectly hot. To reheat, boiling them was the recommendation. I was told the steamed dumplings have a chewier texture than the boiled dumplings. I think the steamed ones may also have thinner wrappers than the boiled. I couldn't really see or taste there was minced shrimp paste mixed with the ground pork, so I would order it without next time (Leek & Pork Dumplings) and save $1. Black & Gold Molten Lava Buns 4/5: I like the tasty molten salted egg custard inside. It still retained the molten quality even when I re-steamed them the next day. Each bun is about the size of a Hostess cupcake or snowball. The gold brushstrokes contrast nicely against the black buns, which I believe gets its color from edible charcoal powder. However, I think it's too much coloring, which is disconcertingly detectable for days. Chicken Egg Fried Rice 3/5: Generous portion. Rice is soft and fluffy when you first order and eat it, but it can't stay that way as leftovers. I did have meals for days, but there's hardly any flavor. I ended up using soy sauce, opening a jar of chili bamboo shoots, and eating it with the garlic green beans. The chicken was cut up in strips as opposed to diced. Restaurant has about 9 small tables for 4 and 2 large tables set for 6. Because of the Grand Opening hustle bustle, I didn't feel comfortable dining in. You had wait to be seated even though the dining room wasn't full. I think the servers were busy taking, cooking, and packing orders. During my 2nd visit, I noticed they would have rather not seated a family 15 minutes before closing, but they did kindly oblige. When I arrived 25 minutes before closing, the default assumption was that I was ordering to go. If you want to dine in, I would try to arrive 30-60 minutes before closing. To Go service was impressively efficient, friendly, and orderly during the Grand Opening. Good luck to 88 Bao Bao and welcome to Roseville! read more
