    Drunken Noodles

How have I never been here before?! This place is so great. The restaurant is clean and inviting, and the staff is exceptionally friendly and welcoming. I got take out so I can't speak for the service. The drunken noodles might be my new favorite in the area. The spice level is perfect, the meat is tender and the noodles the perfect chewiness. The sauce is delicious. You cannot beat the value at this place. Wow. Will definitely return!

Ordered through grubby, found out ordering on the website would've saved me 10% based on fees which is eh, food was fire really liked the panang curry, I don't usually finish the rice with panang curries but I actually did this time. Fried rice was very tasty as well

I came here for my lunch break, with high hopes due to the rating. When I walked in it was completely empty. I would like to explain my experience within the first minute of me stepping in. Me: One for here Lady in hoodie: *saying loudly across the restaurant* picking up? Me: No one for here Lady: For here? how many people Me: One. Throughout the interaction, she came off rude and annoyed so it was already distasteful. As I sat down, i noticed that the area itself is clean. Another lady in a hat served me and she was really sweet. As I was ordering, I asked if they had wifi (because on settings it says "9 PadThai wifi" and as she was going to respond, the lady in the hoodie interject from across the restaurant saying no. I did not appreciate the attitude as I am just asking a question, the service was 50/50, one lady was nice, the other was completely rude. It does not help that I saw the same lady in a hoodie greet some customers warmly and other ice cold. I ordered the firecracker shrimp as an appetizer and came with a complementary fried roll. Both items were average, nothing special. I was imagining something like bang bang shrimp based off of the name and description. The shrimp itself was good, very fresh and soft. I was wowed by the pad thai. Very delicious and flavorful, I asked for thai spicy so there was a small kick, but enjoyable to eat. Overall the food was 50/50, the service was 50/50, I do not think I will be coming back solely because of that interaction. This place is always having people picking up so maybe take out is the way to go for this location.

This is our go-to Thai place for quick pickup near home. I love their drunken noodles and the red curry always hits. We always pickup, so I've never dined in, but I have never seen it crowded. Despite being relatively consistent, there is a girl who works here, whenever we order the pad thai without mushrooms she says, "they don't put mushrooms in it." Without fail, when we get home, it has mushrooms. Happened for easily the 5th time tonight so I felt compelled to write this review and leave this photo. Please. When someone says they don't want something specific in it, write it down, even if you think it's not in the dish to begin with. People have allergies and sometimes they're serious enough that they can't eat the dish at all, even after removing the ingredient in question.

It's been a while so we decided to try this evening. We asked for the pad prik king with a little spice. It was good but too spicey. We couldn't eat it. It was replaced with shrimp with mixed vegetables. Food was very good. I would return only earlier in the evening.

This place is consistently one of the best thai places I've been to and definitely the most delicious Thai restaurant in the area. The service is phenomenal and the flavors are unparallel. Solidly 5/5.

What an incredible find. We ate at a good Thai restaurant the previous day and our cousins invited us to try 9 Pad Thai. Needless to say we were blown away by their unique take on Thai Cuisine. Top notch were the Crispy Pad Thai, Crispy Duck and Soft shell crab. All dishes were 3 star with the exception of the calamari which was more crust and little calamari. The service was attentive and friendly. The ambiance was relaxed and simple The also served both Singha and Chang Beer, which paired well with the Thai spices.

Ordered take-away on this hot, lazy Sunday. Chicken Pad Thai was good but seemed to have odd taste and the Kanom Jeep were SUPER DRY, even with the sauce. Needless to say they went the way of the TRASH. Will we order again...NOT

Favorite pad Thai place. I won't say too much because I've already given a review. FOOD- lunch shrimp pad Thai $12 - 4.8/5. Was amazing, shrimp was a little dry this time but still, great. SERVICE- 6/5 . Was great. Took care of us beyond expectations. Plenty of seats. Lovely place. Definitely would recommend trying this place out.

    Beef drunken noodle $12.95 dinner!

We came on a saturday for lunch. We ordered appetizers first, got the curry puffs and tom yum shrimp soup. The soup was tasty and it came with 3 pieces of shrimp although it was mispriced on the menu. So we ended up being charged $2 more than the stated menu price. Curry puff had good flavor but unfortunately it was very cold in the center so we took this home to reheat later. For the main entrees, they charge dinner prices on the weekends but the prices were good. We got beef drunken noodle ($12.95) and chicken pad thai ($12.95). Both were delicious and satisfying. Would definitely visit again for the noodle dishes!

One of few places that have Yen Ta Fo in the menu! We came here specifically to order this pink noodle soup. One of the most popular street foods in Thailand yet seldom found in Thai restaurants. Another bonus is their picture menu! For those not familiar with Thai food or just prefer visuals...love this idea! We ordered yen ta fo (of course), chicken pad Thai, spring rolls and mango sticky rice to go. Service was great, fast and friendly. The restaurant was clean and vibrant! Food came out quickly, everything looked and tasted fresh and flavorful. Yen ta fo was just as I remembered it from childhood....sweet and tart at the same time. Definitely try this place out, venture out and order a not so common dish or stick with the usual...I'm sure it will all be delicious!

    Panang Curry (lunch)

I picked up two lunch specials on my way from Springfield to DC earlier today and thoroughly enjoyed my meal from 9 Pad Thai. I ordered the regular Pad Thai with chicken (and, apparently, pork) as well as the Panang Curry with chicken and rice. Both came with spring rolls and had enough in the portion to leave leftovers of each plate. I ordered online which was an easy process and the order was ready for pickup within 15 minutes. The Pad Thai was among the best Pad Thai's I've had in the DMV/DC area; the sauce was tangy and sweet, the onions were perfectly cooked, and there were enough onions/veggies to provide an excellent contrast to the egg, pork, and chicken. I didn't know that the dish would include barbecue pork so if you don't eat pork, make sure to specify that this should be omitted. This dish was easily a 5/5 and a definite highlight of the meal. The Panang Curry was not as good as the Pad Thai and I'd rate it a 4/5. If I had ordered more than the mild spice level, I think the dish would have had a better overall flavor profile. My main criticism was just that the flavor wasn't very strong. Also, there were two bell peppers for garnish when I believe there should have been more than that. Everything was cooked well though and there was quite a lot of chicken. I definitely plan to order from here again next time I'm in the area!

So chic, not the usual Thai Restaurant interior. The staff were so personable. And THE FOOD is fantastic! I am glad we stopped by and checkout this place. While we were waiting the two ladies beside our table told us that this is one of their favorite places to eat at. And when we had our food, we understand why. It's so fresh, from the meat to the side dishes. I feel like I am back in Thailand. When I was researching on this restaurant, I found out that the chef taught in Bangkok culinary school. No wonder why this place is a gem! This place is amazing and highly recommend to try. Note: The portion is big and so you are getting what you pay for. Parking is shared and a lot of spaces. That's how I spend many of my days off as a restaurant owner myself. My experience started off on the wrong foot when I was directed to a very small table for one. I politely explained several times that I typically order a substantial amount of food and would need more space. I was told the larger tables were reserved and that tables could be pushed together later if needed. As the meal progressed, a longtime friend of mine who works there came out to say hello. Shortly afterward, tables were combined, apologies were offered, and the experience improved significantly. What left me puzzled was that many of the larger "reserved" tables remained empty throughout my visit. By the time I left around 5:00 PM, they still had not been used. The food was mixed. I came specifically for the Khao Mun Gai, one of Thailand's most iconic dishes. Unfortunately, it was underwhelming. The chicken was average, the rice was decent, and the accompanying soup lacked depth and flavor. On the positive side, the Crackin' Belly was excellent--crispy, flavorful, and well executed. The Pad Thai Siam Shrimp was solid, and while the Tom Sab soup had good flavor, it was a bit too spicy for my preference. The restaurant itself is beautiful. The space is modern, clean, bright, and thoughtfully designed. Easily one of the nicer Thai restaurant interiors in Northern Virginia. One additional detail stood out. My friend joined me briefly for a toast. I ordered a double bourbon, and he ordered a shot. All three shots appeared on my bill, totaling $45. While not a major issue, it felt like a missed opportunity for hospitality given the circumstances. In the end, my bill was approximately $163 for a solo meal. My biggest takeaway wasn't the food--it was the inconsistency in hospitality. The experience improved dramatically after I was recognized, and every guest should feel welcomed and valued from the moment they walk through the door, regardless of appearance or assumptions about what they may spend. The restaurant has a talented kitchen, a beautiful dining room, and plenty of potential. With more consistent hospitality, this could easily become a destination Thai restaurant.

With a little persistence and a short walk, I found a spot. Walking in to the restaurant, there is a small greeting counter. No one was there and so we walked to the back. You don't see the tables when walking into the place, I suspect the kitchen is along side the hallway leading to the tables. The ambiance is friendly, casual with the tables and booths well spaced to provide privacy. The restaurant was relatively empty during our meal and the noise level was comfortable, allowing us to have conversation easily. Thai food is one of my two favorite and I am always looking for a new place to be inspired. I put Thai Cafe on my list of places that I'll return to. I started my meal with Tom Yum Seafood soup. The flavor was really excellent. Two minor things for me: I like soup warm and not hot. For me, the temp was perfect but for other people who like their soup really hot, it probably wasn't hot enough. The other issue is 'how spicy does this restaurant prepare their food?' The soup was 1 pepper, which was a bit milder than I prefer, but accurate. I added a bit more spice. I chose the vegetarian Kapow Pak. The dish is prepared in a brown sauce which frankly isn't my favorite. But it was really good. The veges were fresh, crisp and crunchy, and the tofu was wonderfully lightly fried. The dish is described as medium spicy, reasonably accurate. My friend chose the Pad Woon Sean with chicken. I didn't try it but he said it was a 10/10. The staff were friendly, helpful, and helped me select my dish. This is a family business that's been open for about 30 years. The servers were totally wonderful. I will certainly be back.

Some of our food favorites were the moo ping with sticky rice as an appetizer. The pork marinade was really good! The crispy chicken with green curry was also delicious. The chicken had a great crisp, and it wasn't an overwhelming amount of green curry. The volcano tom yum dish using Mama instant noodles was a visually stunning dish. It was also tasty, served with a lot of seafood. The Mama cup was repurposed to hold veggies. I kind of wished there were more seasoning or some sauce with the veggies because they were a bit dry, but we mixed it in with the noodles, so no biggie. We devoured the mango sticky rice, that was about $9. We should've ordered 2 of those to share amongst us 4. The mango was perfectly ripe and delicious!!! With bits of pink-tipped barbecued pork the smoky flavored Phad Thai was good, even if it was served on a plate that was a tad too small. The Gai Tod crispy chicken came with a yellow curry sauce. The perfectly seasoned curry sauce was delicious and the chicken excellent. My Thai Iced Coffee was excellent. The best part of our meal was the mango sticky rice for dessert. Normally it seems chefs go overboard with ginger, but here's an example of using just the right amount. The Thai Iced Coffee came in a generous portion, but had an odd bitter flavor. 5/5 Stars - Treat-to-Self! I decided to skip the frantic…read morebrunch crowds and treat myself to a solo date at Rice & Spice Thai Cuisine for Mother's Day, and honestly? It was the best decision I've made all month. There is something about a woman-owned gem that just hits the spot--the attention to detail, the welcoming energy, and of course, the incredible food. The moment you walk in, the aesthetic sets the mood. The teal wood-paneled walls paired with those gorgeous woven basket pendant lights draped in cherry blossoms? Absolute magic. It's chic, cozy, and felt like a little escape. I went all out on the menu and wasn't disappointed: * Chive Dumplings: These were the star of the show. Perfectly crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and served with a savory dipping sauce that I could have finished with a spoon. * Vegetable Soup: Light, clear, and packed with fresh, vibrant veggies. It was the perfect "reset" bowl. * Crab Fried Rice: They did not skimp on the crab! It was fresh, fluffy, and paired perfectly with a cold, crisp Singha beer. Whether you're celebrating a holiday or just need to romanticize your life with some top-tier Thai food, this is the place. The service was lovely, the Mother's Day special menu was a thoughtful touch, and the atmosphere is 10/10. Chef's kiss. I'll definitely be back!

It is a smallish place but never have to wait for seating so far. Variety of music is playing. There is a small bar with TV as well. A lot of take out orders as well as eat in.
