The sauce can be too overwhelming though, so I usually eat that with the included salad bar (note about this later). the honey chicken can get too sweet, but if you enjoy sweet stuff, this is the way to go. and the original fried chicken is a winner. they do a really good job frying their chicken, so of course this one is good. the flavors are just a bonus! It's juicy and tender and you get a lot of meat and flavor. My friends and I usually get half half -- soy garlic and the spicy sauce one. thats enough for about 2 people! if we have more, we usually order the fried chicken or the honey one. We love the self serve salad bar as well! its included in your bill (dine in only!). It includes rice, 2 type of salad greens, pickled daikon, steamed broccoli, coleslaw, jalapenos, and two dressings. I come back 2-3 times when I eat here! The hype is real. 99 Chicken doesn't have the most flavors (they have 5 total) or the fanciest interior, but what they do is done with cleanliness and elegance in its simplicity. Not to mention a heaping serving of gigantic drumsticks and a nice complementary and complimentary salad bar (if dining in with 5 wings per person minimum, $3 for takeout). It's about as clean as it gets with Korean Fried Chicken, but the raw value with some pretty darn good no-frills fried chicken is undeniable. Parking is pretty accessible in the strip they're located at, but tables are less plentiful inside. I can see how a wait might develop at more peak hours, but it was pretty quiet for a Sunday evening. Service was polite and reserved, but prompt and efficient. Definitely a local's spot, since plenty of folks were more familiar with the shopkeeps than we were and it's a warm welcoming for all (lots of happy photos on decorate their walls). Salad bar and water was self-service, but everything was very cleanly and clearly labeled and set out neatly. Note the helpful inclusion of finger gloves and bone bucket at each table. We ended up dunking the plain fried chicken in the residual sauce for some saucy action (the seasoning from the sauces make it better in my opinion as the plain chicken is slightly light on salt). ==Salad bar== The salad bar by itself would be more underwhelming, but really it's designed to be eaten with the chicken so viewed from that perspective it works perfectly. My husband loves the salad dressing here, so he always looks forward to it. The restaurant has a rule that each person must order at least 5 wings or a half portion, which we completely understand. During our last visit, the owner gave us dirty looks the entire time. When my husband went up to pay, she said, "I've noticed you only come here to eat the salad. Came with a party of 4 on a Friday night and luckily got the last open table. The space is cozy but not overly loud, considering it was a full house. A worker was quick to help us out and explain the menu. They have free self-serve white rice and a salad bar. I noticed they changed the rice while I was there, so it's good to know it's always fresh. We got two half-and-half's: 1 half spicy and half soy garlic, and 1 half spicy soy garlic and half honey garlic. Chicken was freshly fried, crispy, and juicy. We got a total of 6 drumsticks and 4 wings somehow, instead of equal parts. The order will include self serve all you can eat rice, salad, and cold water but they limit it to 2 trips . After finding a table, you order the chicken and then they'll give each person 1 small and 1 big paper plates. The limit for sharing is 5 chicken/person so if you have more than 2 people, you have to order an additional meal which is a fair deal. You can take leftovers chicken but not the all you can eat items. We'll be coming back sometime in the future.
