It's at the mall food court, but they have made it look a little more upscale than some mall food courts. You can order on a touchpad or from the cashier. They don't have quite as many options as the restaurant in Cupertino. I got the noodles with chili oil and braised beef, and they were really delicious. It's interesting, everything is packaged in to-go containers, but if you ask for it to-go, it will be served cold to reheat at home. Food came out very quick. Ordered at a self-serve kiosk. I forgot to take a picture of the noodles before I started eating them, so normally there are more than pictured. The noodles were described as spicy, but it was only a fairly mild spice. Regardless, very tasty! The Pork Burger was juicy, but did not have a ton of flavor. It's possible that it just seemed mild compared to the noodles, but either way it just didn't impress me much compared to the noodles. Your orders whether you dine there or togo will come packaged in a container so its easy to walk around with while looking for a table. The mala in it was just right and the spice level is perfect enough that you won't regret it afterwards while shopping. Last but not least the price for portions makes sense here. So the good .. the food itself was amazing! I liked observing the gentleman creating the hand pulled noodles as he was stretching and swirling the large dough around. 3.5 stars. This place was delicious. Tried them on a whim while I was in the mall and feeling pretty hungry. Only one person was ahead of me in line, so it wasn't too long of a wait for food. Went with the chili oil dry noodles and was not disappointed. The noodles had a great chew, not mushy or overcooked, and the chili oil had a great flavor. Decent amount of bok choy with some bean sprouts and shredded carrots. My only complaint -- and the reason for the lower score -- is that the noodles became a big ball, all stuck together, towards the bottom of the bowl. With chopsticks, this was a nearly impossible task to unravel. With a fork it became easier thanks to the sharp prongs being able to rip things apart, but then the noodles became shredded pieces. The very bottom of the bowl was too oily for the noodles to remain appetizing and was a less enjoyable experience than the top and middle of the bowl, which was so good. This would've been a near-perfect meal otherwise. Recommend the staff figure out how to prevent the noodles from balling up like that, and use a little less chili oil so it doesn't pool at the bottom of the bowl. The flavors are too good and the noodles too well made to not do right by them in preparation. read more

Vinaigrette was my favorite because it's the same strong dark vinaigrette as ones served inside Shanghai dumpling spots. You can really taste the strong sweet and sourness kick to it. Dips well with the long stretchy handmade noodles. Chili sauce is authentic too. Great for noodle dipping. Loved it. For a Chinese noodle spot, it's not cheap due to inflation, but their noodles are well made and decent. This chain can win many food competitions because the quality is in the making noodles process. It didn't take long to receive my order. Cashier was friendly and helpful. Employees are hardworking in the kitchen. This is definitely much better than expected. The soup base was a bit different than what I'm used to eating in Guangdong or Hong Kong, but it's Lanzhou style, so not bad at all. I am open to trying everything else next time. I don't think you are going to get a dish with fresher tasting veggies in the food court. The bok choy was perfectly cooked, not too limp, not too raw. The rest of the veggies reminded me of a bibimbap - carrots, cucumbers, bean sprouts, and green onions. The bowl of noodles seemed small at first, but the noodles at the bottom are a generous portion. They have a really great "qq" bounce to them. All that being said... cancel your meetings, reschedule your dates, take a shower and brush your teeth. I ate SO much garlic and loved every moment of it. I ended ordering the popular braised beef noodles with medium sized hand pulled noodles with popcorn chicken and fountain drink. You can literally see the chef in the back pulling those noodles. So cool and such a skill. The beef noodle soup is really good with lots of authentic flavor and the braised beef is very tender. The hand pulled noodles has a really good bite and chew to it and really good portions. The popcorn chicken is standard and I ate it with my noodles also haha. By the way, the fountain drink is refillable so load up on your Coke so you have something to sip on while you walk around the mall after. The chili oil noodles had me literally dancing in my chair. These were made to order, but the wait wasn't too long. We went to Ox 9 on a Friday night hoping to get some Lanzhou beef noodle soup since we had recently visited Lanzhou and were craving a bowl. We ordered two number one with traditional round noodle and extra flat. It surpassed our expectations and was so good. Definitely authentic and very satisfying as the spices and the soup were so flavorful. We also got the cucumbers which were also very good and complemented the noodles well. I wish they gave more of the cucumbers, but everything was packed into takeout boxes. Never knew the original ramen place closed down and this joint opened up. I tried the beef stew and it was around 15 dollars. Taste wise it is good, the ingredients were decent as well. It was just very oily, to the point where you if you touch the bowl once, it sticks on your fingers? I'm not sure if it's only for this item or the others.
