My childhood friend introduced me to 9ers. It's a mainstay for her family of two boys and husband. They likely go here at least 3-4 a month. In summer, I'm here 3-4x a month too. When my friend and I are deciding what and where to eat, more than half the time it's burgers and tots here. I highly recommend the Texas Pounder. The order defaults to a side of fries, which we switch out to tater tots. They don't penalize us, and that stands out for us, and a huge dollop of appreciation. Food: Burgers are solidly meaty. Not fluffed. Substantive. Seasoned nicely. Never too much. Tots are reliably crispy outside, fluffy inside. I just realized I have no photo for you because I'm so excited about my plate, I just dive in. Service: Straightforwardly kind enough. One time I made a horribly large spill. Awful all around, unbelievably so.. Smells like sewage inside. Almost no customers inside. We only stayed because we were meeting people there. Bathroom was filthy. Food took 30 min to arrive and came out 1 plate at a time. Food was a C at best. Burgers seemed as though they were on the grill for hours. Dried out, over cooked and not good. Updated Review. We stopped in here for dinner over the weekend. I had fond memories of the great breakfast and expected the same across the menu. However, dinner disappointed. The beef used on the nachos was clearly seasoned to be hamburger beef, my sweet potato fries were soft and cold, and the chicken fried steak was not as good as I remember. It wasn't even served as pictured- as the size of half the plate and topped with gravy. It was small, the breading fell off and the gravy was on the side. I am not sure if the management changed, but it has definitely changed. I may stop in to see if breakfast is still good. This dinner definitely was not. read more

This meal was Door Dashed to me.. the food was made very quickly, the wait for it to be on the way was short & sweet. By the time It got here, everything was still super fresh! I told the staff and I said "there's something on the floor and I almost slipped." The lady proceeded to say "hahaha it's a French fry." I don't understand what was so funny. One order of the chicken fried chicken with slaw, roll and tots, the tots were very good but the chicken was hard and chewy. The gravy was pretty good but when I pulled a big glob out of the puddle that was just too much so I set that a side. The slaw had the taste of uncooked fish, the roll was like tearing a pool noodle apart and I think it was left over from Thanksgiving. One order of the catfish- the fish was a bit off but hot, the sweet potato fries were ok and warm, the fried okra was fairly good, the soda fountain produced drinks that were overly sweet and made the Coke taste like a flat Pepsi. This morning my dog and I walked there for breakfast on the patio and it wasn't well known they don't open until 9am these days. I was rudely asked to leave. Although its tough to mess up a breakfast taco, and they( 9 er's @ 359) don't usually, we have had few hastily made(obviously) with and without requests that absolutely sucked. The value is borderline as 3 bucks for a dollar taco has its own issues. My issues are the view of the kitchen and the "to go" operation. Having had food prep training I can see their kitchen from the customer view angle. I have some questions about their health compliance(s). I have learned that sometimes to just not watch has it's virtues. Their point person during the week, Mara, is as about as warm was a cold hot dog straight from the cooler. On her phone, short with questions and answers and I don't give a sh.. attitude. As a point person everyone should be important. I have witnessed her take very different care of people who are not regulars versus those who are. We have purposefully stopped eating there on a regular basis just from that. We use to be 2 to 3 times a week regulars( hate to cook), now, maybe once a month. This review, hopefully seen be management, will maybe move them forward as the economy will certain play a role in their continued success. This post may be lengthy however I must expose 9ers Grill for the absolutely unacceptable level of customer service offered by the manager Romy. (This is the name the shift manager gave us) My wife and I ordered the "new" Wings and Waffle" for $9.99. There is no picture but based on past experience I was expecting the same quality and customer service that has made me a customer of 9ers Grill for years! The order was delivered to our table with a beautiful Waffle...AND 3 WING PIECES!! WAIT...LET ME EXPLAIN!! We ordered "Wings and Waffle, expecting Chicken Wings not 3 Pigeon Wing Pieces! A flat, and two drummets!! We called the waitress over and explained our dissatisfaction. We then spoke to the manager on duty and was told, and I quote, "thats how they come!" I replied, " no problem, we would like a refund please " The manager started to issue one refund, however we explained we had 2 orders and HAD NOT eaten any of the food. She then called her manager Romy, (no last name of course) who advised her (and would not speak to us) that they WOULD NOT OFFER A REFUND!! NOR DID THEY OFFER TO REPLACE WITH ANOTHER OPTION! My new coworker brought me here for a late lunch. It seems to be a good place and it has a plentiful menu of items to choose from, not to mention the lunch specials. I tried the Philly Cheese Steak Sandwich and was pleased that it had a very authentic taste. It wasn't to big and certainly not too small. It had a good portion of meat, equal to the amount of onions, and it all made for a hearty lunch. The only thing that I can offer in advice is that they take the time to wipe down tables after the lunch crowd leaves. I'm not sure if this place is under new management but I'm not a fan of the recent changes. I've been a very loyal customer for 10 years but that's likely coming to an end. They have recently just raised their prices on everything by 10-20%. If that were it then I would eventually get over it but they've drastically reduced the food portions and drink sizes too. I mentioned my concerns to one of the employees, they agreed and said that they feel bad for the customers now. Someone has just gotten too greedy. I hope something changes but don't expect it to.
