Location: Great location on the water, and close to the train! Nice water views and relaxing to watch the boats. Food: HORRIBLE. Eat before you go. Drinks: Good frozen drinks! However, I'm a little curious how much alcohol is in them. I had 3 frozen daiquiris and was not feeling anything. Music: They have live bands, good music and at a volume where is was low enough that you could still talk. Service: Not the best. Our server would disappear for long periods of time and we had to try to track her down to get a drink. After going to bars on the NJ shore for years, this bar is truly one of a kind. It is nothing I have seen before on the NJ shore, this close to where I was staying in Howell. Located off of 9th ave, right near the water, it is the perfect spot for a relaxing beverage, without the douchary of most NJ Shore bars, which made it one of my favorite places. The crowd is older late 20's and up, which I am sure lead to the atmosphere being as chill as it was. I highly recommend the Miami Vice drink. It was the perfect summer drink. If you are looking for a place close to the shore, but not in the mood for the NJ shore crowd, this bar is your bar! read more

I have been here many times and have always enjoyed myself. The view just can't be beat. On my most recent visit, my dad and I split a burger which was quite good. The homemade chips are great. We also had the steamed clams and they were awesome! I was literally drinking the broth with a spoon. Beers were reasonably priced. The only negative is that the service is a bit slow and I don't like that you order your drinks from a waitress but your food is ordered at a counter. The place is so nice & when the weather is nice, the sunsets are beautiful!! We sat at the back bar yesterday and enjoyed ourselves. Courtneay was our bartender & she was very attentive & pleasant. The drinks r just ok. Id recommend the Orange Crush. We also had coconut shrimp & calamari which were both very good. They had a 3 piece band which were fine. Nothing to rave about & the acoustics were very low. Wished they had a really excellent band being it was 4th of July. More along the lines of The Wharfside in Pt. Pleasant. Louder, people dancing. This place just opened this summer. It's located in the Belmar Marina on hwy 35 and 9th ave in belmar. It's essentially a long patio that extends into the marina with awesome 180 waterfront views. There is a big covered bar and numerous tables with umbrellas. 9th ave is primarily a bar but they also serve food. They have apps, sandwiches and seafood. Also check out the raw bar serving clams, oysters and shrimp. The food is decent. Nothing great. It's all about the view, drinks and live music. This place gets packed on weekends especially on saturday and sunday afternoons. A great place to enjoy a summer afternoon to unwind. I should also mention that the people who own this place also own the patio bar in point pleasant. It's practically a clone. read more

The food in my middle school as a kid would have better. After you get inline to order and give them your table number your food shows up 1 hour later cool and just thrown on a dish or whatever. Was there in Sept 2012. As odd as the system is I thought the serenity and amazing view was all worth it. Food and drinks were typical, but when you are at Jersey Shore you are there to relax and get away from it all. I have been trying to find out if it was up and ready for this season. This is a great place to eat if you want to enjoy looking at the Shark River and enjoy great food. Food and drinks are pretty pricey but I'm assuming its for the possible high rent they have. They are expanding and have a second bar now. They also said they are looking to put an actual restaurant in the marina building. read more

I was a little skeptical about this place going there. With the 3 star yelp review It wasn't looking to impressive. But the lady insisted that it's good and we must go. I ordered a landshark beer, served in a plastic cup, tasted like crap, had to be Coors light. So for lunch we got the soft shell crab sandwich, peel and eat shrimp, and the lobster roll. The soft shell crab sandwich was "meh" at best, only thing saving it was the commercial tarter sauce. The peel and eat shrimp was nice and cold, but also not cleaned. The cocktail sauce was so cold it didn't even stick to the shrimp, I had to shovel it onto my shrimp. The lobster roll was good according to the girlfriend, but who really knows. I'm not sure I even understand how the system in this restaurant works. You walk in, and have to find your own table. It's so crowded that you literally have to stalk other tables and wait on top of them until they leave. After beating ten other people to an opening table, we sat down. But the table is still dirty because they literally just got up. So now we are siting at a dirty table for at least 15 minutes. Every two minutes someone comes over and asks if they can have a chair.... Annoying. We order drinks. My wine came over, all 3 ounces of it in a plastic cup. Fine. The other mixed drink was so bad it gave my sister goosebumps. We try to order food from the waitress but she tells us that we have to go over to the food stand and order and pay for it. We don't have to wait for it because a server will bring it over. Why? Are we on the boardwalk? This concept amazes me. The chef who is preparing the food has a long beard and long hair. He is not wearing a hair net. He is touching everything and then preparing the food in front of everyone!!! He is not wearing gloves. Seriously disgusting! Our food arrives. I ordered a chicken quesadilla. It came with horseradish instead of sour cream. I guess it looks the same. Idk. The French fries were stale and tasteless. The drinks and food were just bad. I went at 12.30 in the afternoon for lunch. The place was empty, Two people at the bar and one OLDER couple sitting at the rear of the dining area. You sit yourself at a table. The waitress brings you a menu and asks if you want something to drink (I ordered 2 sodas) and then says you have to go to the counter to order your food and pay. It's a good thing we were only 50 ft. from the counter. The OLDER people at the far end were 100 ft. from the counter! I think they were sorry they sat so far away. When The food is ready they will bring it to you. The food was served on a styrofoam plate and the sodas were in a small plastic cup. By the time the food came out, the ice in our sodas had melted and the drinks were warm. Before you leave the waitress asks if you're ready to pay you're bar bill. WTF I THOUGHT I PAID FOR THE SODAS WHEN I PAID AT THE COUNTER!! I noticed a large garbage bin. The kind you see at a fast food restaurant. Before I left I asked the waitress if I had to clean up the table. She said that they would clean the table. What a crazy way to run a restaurant!!! read more

Excursion from the Seafood festival insanity. Since the insane lines at the Seafood Festival that shutdown Belmar on Sunday, I came to get my lobster roll fix at 9th Ave Pier instead. I had the lobster roll, tuna bites, oysters and beer to wash it down. Pleasant atmosphere, it's on the pier overlooking the water which is very soothing, I liked the casual but not crazy bar scene. The space is roomy, so you can sit near or away from the band and actually still have a conversation. You order your drinks from your server but food, you up to the area where they are shucking oysters, give them your table number and put in your order. This makes it convenient if you're with a group and need separate checks. The lobster roll was fresh and delicious, just the right balance of mayo, oysters were good, they were freshly shucked and meaty, however, I wished they would have had them on ice, my oyster was room temperature, partially because the day was hot too and you're sitting outside. The tuna bites have a spicy mayo sauce on them so they're yummy and have a hearty feel to them. Overall a great evening to enjoy having drinks with friends and a few snacks, not to mention got my lobster roll without having to be trampled on. read more

Don't use your credit card. Sitting at the bar a credit card is required to run a tab. If you pay cash they still charge your credit card. Yeah; pretty slimy. I love this place. It has the best atmosphere and you can't beat the view. The rum buckets are a few dollars more in comparison to other places but that's not a big deal once you're there. I love the waterfront bars at the shore. This one is one of the newer places but is always packed. Good live music and great food. The only thing I didn't like was no draft beer but found out this week that it's because the beer lines couldn't be run all the way out to the end of the dock.
