Article lacquered on dining table. Very creative & historical!

Sorry - I didn't take pictures but you'll have to believe me that this place was great. Our waitress was very good with taking our orders & special requests. The food arrived hot and was very good. One of my friends got something she always gets that looked like a skillet with lots of veggies. I got scrambled eggs with bacon, American potatoes (that were sliced and not cubed), biscuit & gravy. The biscuit was so flaky - truly homemade. The waitress was great at giving us coffee refills and just being attentive to our large group. The tables had news articles that were lacquered onto the tables regarding the history of Highland. So very interesting! Love it! As you know, I'm a Coca-Cola girl - no Coke just Pepsi so one less star.

This is a somewhat hidden place in Highland. Unless you're a local you've probably never heard about it and how to get there. It's nearly disguised as a house since it's on a residential street which borders the business district. But either way, it's a great hidden gem. It's a great senior citizen's place, as they are open during certain hours. And in 2024, they will only accept cash - not that it's a bad thing. They do have a great menu, and some may say the food is not top quality. But the prices are very reasonable, whether you're coming here for breakfast and lunch. Service is great as well. Lots of Highland history on display too.

Best diner breakfast in the area. Amazing prices, huge portions. I will definitely be back. The smothered hash browns are an absolute must. I would love to just get a big plate of those. Friendly service. I can't wait to try even more menu items!

This cafe is the epitome of what a greasy spoon should be, in all the best ways. My boyfriend's family is from the area and swears by 9th st. We were even chastised for visiting without them. For such a hole in the wall, the Social distancing was good. Our Waitstaff was kind and accommodating. The food was phenomenal. The portion sizes were huge! I had the western omelette with smothered hash browns. And I ate nearly all of it, which is even more impressive when you see the size. 10/10 would frequent.

I had a 2 meat platter, pulled pork & shrimp with mac & cheese & baked beans, wife had wings. To say were impressed in an understatement, the food was fresh, which that early we weren't expecting fresh but hoping for it since most BBQ places at that hour serve yesterday's leftovers warmed in a microwave but NOT HERE! The staff was welcoming and patient while explaining the menu to us. Service was just as good as the food, it seemed everyone was in a good mood and that goes straight back to management. The burnt ends were the star of the show, so juicy! My brisket was a tad dry. They also put the sauce in the fridge so it's cold, but there might not be a way to avoid that food-safety wise. Their wings are also really good. The mac-n-cheese side is good. You order at the counter and they give you a number and bring your food out to you. The only other thing I don't love is there's two rooms, the main room and a room off to the side, and especially if you are in the side room, it feels like you are crammed in there with a ton of other people and sometimes it gets really loud. When it's nice enough, we prefer to sit outside as they have a few picnic benches off to the side that are covered.

It was an incredibly hot evening, but I enjoyed a frozen peach sangria, which helped keep me cool. (The fans up there didn't work, so the frozen drink was almost a necessity.) My spouse and I split a flatbread pizza and a berry salad, too. The salad was fine--it needed a lot more nuts and a touch of salt. The flatbread, though, was REALLY delicious! The frozen sangria was great, too--sweet but not coyingly so. A friend I was with ordered one with a splash of red wine on top, making it a touch less sweet and more balanced, according to her. I'll try that next time. The winery closed earlier than I expected, but the musician was great. Copperdock was still a great place to spend an evening with friends or family. I recommend a visit!

It was perfectly cooked, flavorful, and honestly one of my favorite dishes from the trip. I also had a scallop dish that was just as good -- rich, well-seasoned, and beautifully prepared. On top of the food, they have a really strong wine selection, which made the experience even better. The overall vibe is polished and elevated without feeling too formal. Not about the food. Did not eat here…read more We happened to be in town for a long weekend. On our way to the zoo we stopped here for a bite to eat. We were greeted by one of the nicest and overwhelmingly insulting people I have ever met. We "had to have been from out of town" because "if you were local you wouldnt have imagined coming here without a reservation." Then we spent the next 10 minutes trying to walk back to our car while having an app explained to us so "you can check for open tables at other places." There were maybe 3 people eating in the entire front area. So out of towner's, dont spend the 5 minutes looking for parking and the 5 minutes walking to this establishment to be treated like some peasant commoner who is sullying their establishment.
