Came to fix the A/C in the summer. Worked for a week, then it went down. Waited a week for the second for the second attempt. They sent out the main guy this time. He got go it working. Turned on the heater in the winter and now that is blowing cold air. It worked before A-1 repaired the A/C. They don't guarantee their work past 60 days. read more

Because we purchased a home warranty through American Home Shield, we were required to use the contracted service company, A-1 Quality Care, LLC when our air conditioner stopped working in July. After 4 service calls by 2 different technicians, our air conditioner would work for a few days then malfunction again. When we called the manager to note the problem was not resolved, we were assured a technician would come out the next day (Saturday) to do a service call. The technician was 30 minutes early, did not call us to let us know of his anticipated arrival time, and entered our backyard without permission. This is particularly concerning as he asked us to keep computer parts that were in our open garage at a previous service call. When we did arrive home to meet him, he informed us that he did not have refrigerant or nitrogen to do any repairs that day. When questioned about how to obtain the proper equipment or what other options we had, he became defensive and rude, stating it was not realistic of us to expect technicians to come to our home on a weekend. He did assure us he would be out at a time convenient for us to do another service call, since we had already taken time off work for the previous 4 service calls by this company for the same problem and we eagerly anticipated getting this problem resolved once and for all. I am a medical professional and had to leave my shift early today to meet him. Anyone in healthcare knows how difficult this can be. After waiting for 30 minutes, I received a call from American Home Shield noting the technician stated he did not feel comfortable returning for a service call due to "words that were exchanged at the last service call". This is shocking to me, as that was not my interpretation of the interaction at all. It was also frustrating that the only notification received was after the appointment time had passed, by the insurance company not A-1 Quality Care. We were mistreated by this company, particularly the technician, . He made me extremely uncomfortable by his demeanor towards me, and was rude when I asked questions as the customer. Lastly, knowing that he entered our home without permission makes me very uncomfortable. I would not recommend this company and am concerned they may have damaged our AC unit even more with incompetent work. read more

If your home warranty company says they're sending out this outfit, do yourself a favor and ask them to choose a different provider. I called them the moment I heard they were lined up to perform the work and no one from A-1 could be bothered to call me back. That was my first red flag. Second red flag was that despite suffering from 100 degree heat, it took them 5 days to show up. Third red flag was the service tech they sent out - some kid who didn't know a damn thing about anything and then he lied and said it was our home warranty company's policy that he couldn't get on our tile roof. Seriously? Southern Nevada and you refuse to get on a tile roof? BS. One call to our home warranty provider determined that the kid lied - there's no such policy. Our warranty people then lined us up with another company right away and they will be here SAME DAY - today, to get the job done. You never know what you're going to get when working though a home warranty company (that's my experience, at least), so kudos to A-1 Quality Care, specifically Jason and Eric for their professionalism and genuine care in solving my a/c issue. They were timely in their responses, openly communicative while working through the problem, and fixed every identified issue. Jason even went so far as to identify and fix an issue that he probably could have simply ignored, no doubt saving me another call to my home warranty company, additional time without the a/c, and another upfront service fee. Aside from the fact that they fixed the issues, it was obvious to me that they actually cared about what they were doing. It was refreshing to see people who were excited about what they were doing. The next time I need my a/c serviced, you can bet I will request A-1 through my home warranty company. A1 was sent to us for a second opinion from our Home Warranty Company to fix our AC. Where our Home Warranty company frustrated us we were very fortunate they set us up with A1. Right off the bat I could tell that A1 knew what they were doing and their customer service was great from call one. They texted us to let us know our appointment and texted us to let us know when they were on the way. They gave us a 3 hour window for our appointment and showed right away. Our technician Billy was FANTASTIC, he was very helpful and explained the problem in great detail and options we had to get things fixed and our ac back on after it being off for 10 days. I am extremely happy with A-1's Service. I had another company called ice cube Air come out to my house four times for the same problem and they never fixed it they even damaged my system. It's the hottest week of the year so far in LV and my mom's A/C unit is blowing hot air. Called on Thursday and was told I could get service the next day on Friday afternoon. I was thrilled because my mom is 75 and on oxygen, and it's over 90 degrees in her house. The tech, Billy, showed up and asked what the problem was. I told him the unit was blowing hot air. Then he looked at the air filters and said, when were these changed last, and I told him approximately 10 days ago. Then he asked where he could put the ladder to access the A/C unit and I told him the front of the house would be fine. He said no, there's tile there, I will have to go from the back. I told him that's not possible because we have an aluminum wood patio cover in the back. Then he said, well we don't walk on roof tiles. I told him they've been doing it for 30 years here in Las Vegas, it's not a problem. Then he said, you'll have to find somebody else and walked away. Then I called their office and told them, if you're not going to walk on the homeowners roof tiles, you should let them know that when you're writing the work order, or at least ask them how will you be accessing the A/C unit, so you're not wasting their time or yours! Now I have to find a company on a Friday afternoon that can come out ASAP so I don't have to put my mom in the hospital! Then they had the nerve to tell my homeowner warranty company, AHS, that the job was completed! HA! I can guarantee you they are not getting paid for doing nothing!!! Lazy!!! read more

Exceptional service in every way! My heater wasn't working (the ignitor was broken) and we were looking at 30 degree temps in Reno at night. I called A-1 Quality Care late afternoon on a Friday and got a voicemail that said they were only open M-F, so as I left a message, I was concerned that I would have some freezing cold nights until my heater could be fixed. At that point, I didn't expect to get a return call until Monday. The next day, on Saturday, I got a call that a technician could come out to take a look. When Steven, the technician from A-1 Quality Care, arrived at my door, he was very friendly and professional. I showed him where the heater was and he got right to work. He located the problem (the ignitor and another part) and said that his supervisor was on the way over with the parts. After the repair was finished, he stuck around to make check the temperature of the air flowing through the vents. This company performs service work for American Home Shield home warranty company. Their service technician Steven Severn shut our furnace off on Saturday the 14th and it is the 18th and we are still without heat. Told us he was going to expedite the job because my husband is 76 years old and just went through major back surgery. The temperature outside is 28 degrees and it is snowing. When I called American Home Shield warranty and spoke with their representative "Asia" she was indifferent. Basically too bad, told me it will likely be 3-5 more days before we have heat. read more

Horrible inexperienced tech's. Tried to tell me I had the wrong LP conversion orifices in my heater after 15 years of no problems. The Bryant furnace specialist told me that if I did have the wrong ones in it would have shut off immediately. American Home shield would only let me use two companies of which A I quality had 3 employees, 2 very inexperience and one with 16 years. He replace the LP orifices and my entire house was then left with carbon monoxide in it so much so that the alarms went off. He made me go outside and opened all the windows and doors....this should not happen. AHS then says because I had the wrong LP in...no proof was shown to me, that they would not cover the replacement or repair....shocking. I intend to follow up with AHS and challenge them. read more

I purchased a home about 3 years ago and have had non stop AC and heating issues. I had my AC units maintained for the sumber, and found an issue with one by another company. I have a home warranty which recommended A-1 for the repairs and I could not be happier with their service. Although They were running a little behind, so was I and it was no big deal on either end. My daughter just bought a Reno home with a home warranty and they sent these guys out. They absolutely provided the worst ncompetant service. Four visits later they failed to fix their coolant leak in the cooling system. The fifth visit was cancelled 45 minutes After the scheduled arrival time. My A/C quit working late Wednesday evening 7-31-19, so I go online at 1:30 AM 8-1-19 to AHS Home Warranty. Filling out my paperwork I go through the contractors. I choose A-1 Quality Care LLC. I called A-1 to confirm my service and was informed that they were working on my paperwork and would call me. Later that Day I received a call and was told that they would be out on Saturday the 3rd. Well we stayed at the house that night it was over 90 inside my house. Well on Friday the 2nd I informed my wife that there's no way that we'd spend another mayor night in this oven. While packing water and beer for our hotel stay A-1 calls and say they have a cancel and a technician was in my zip. I couldn't cancel my room, but told them to come. Within 15 minutes Billy R shows up and went to work diagnosing the problem. I'm thinking Compressor (would have taken 3-5 days for parts) Well Billy found the problem in a few minutes and had the repairs completed. 2 Capacitors were bad. My A/C was humming in lest that 30 minutes. I'm rating A-1 5 Stars, wish I could give more. Get this, talking with Billy I told him that I was a Gas Technician and I found out that owner of the company and I worked for the same company 20 years ago. Go Figure... read more

Worst service ever, I had to wait 12 days before my A/C was fixed. When the technician came for the first appointment to find the problem he said it would be a week before it could be fixed. So yeah I was already irritated with that time frame. A week goes by and I don't receive any calls or updates. Decide to call them myself on day 7 they didn't have any answer for me and said they would call right back with one... never did. So I called them again the next day and this time they still didn't know what was going on said that the tech couldn't find the part. So great you guys tell me it'll be fixed in a week and a week goes by and the part isn't even ordered yet. They end up finding the part and make me wait another 5 days for it, awesome. Let me note that for this entire time the temp was ranging from 95-100 degrees. You guys suck, couldn't even work with me in the end on the price after such terrible service. They came during the window set, my wife was home and in the backyard. She didn't hear the doorbell and the tech never called us. Cost us $75 for someone to ring our doorbell. I'm in Vegas and turned on the AC during one of our recent brief warm days and it did not come on. I could hear it running, but not feeling any cool air and also noticed the fan was not turning on the outside unit. I immediately put in a service request with my home warranty American Home Shield. I like to check out reviews and the first company that appeared in the selection had horrible reviews and I was TERRIFIED. I checked out the other company options and continued to check reviews and I was extremely nervous about what I read. When I saw A-1 Quality Care of course I did the same, checked out the reviews. I felt comfortable with what I was seeing. I understand everyone will not be pleased, but they had better reviews than the others, and I decided to give them a try. Once I put in the request, I received a call shortly after from A-1. They had availability the following morning and told me they would be sending out Billy between 8a-10a. Billy was on time, friendly and professional. He immediately went to work, discovered the issue and completed the fix...the condenser fan motor needed to be replaced. A+++ Outstanding HVAC repair! FAST - Professional - Friendly - Wonderful service. A1 Quality Care arrived within 2 hours of our call to our home warranty company, HSA. The A1 dispatcher asked all the right questions. The extremely skilled technicians arrived with everything they needed on their truck. Our HVAC control panel burnt out.
