She said they are scheduling furnace inspections for the fall now, and I know their schedule fills up fast. In fact, I missed getting on their schedule for last year (2024) and then they told me I did not need it, since the furnace was only a year old. Their scheduling is that you call, leave a message with the receptionist, and then, they call you back to schedule service, usually later in the day. I've left my phone on every day from 5 am until 8 pm when we go to sleep. Home Comfort installed the furnace ac, thermostat and humidifier back in 2023 brand new. Everything is working great but I'm a teacher and start work next week so I figured I'd get this scheduled now, since I can't always keep my phone on, and answer it. I finally asked the receptionist, why isn't he calling me back, and she said, oh, he keeps a list for furnace checks, and he'll get to it, later. He's busy with a/c right now. Maybe tell people that, because here I'm glued to my phone, and not realizing that. July 22, 2025 Home Comfort out today to see why the a/c they installed in Oct 2023 only works sporadically or when I reset the system by turning the thermostat (that they installed) on and off to get it restarted. It kept stopping and then not restarting, after the temperature was at the point I had set. So if the room got warm again, no a/c, unless I turned everything off and then back on again, after waiting at least 5 minutes. Home Comfort replaced the thermostat for no cost, and told me I have a 10 year warranty on the a/c, thermostat, furnace, and humidifier that they installed in 2023. I did not know that. Don't call anyone else. I had a company out here 2 week ago, paid them, and they could not figure out why the a/c was not always working and that cost me way too much. Lesson learned. You have to get Home Comfort out because their techs know stuff other companies don't know. They installed American Standard equipment, but the new thermostat (that works) is Emerson. They installed Aprilaire for the humidifier. Now, my a/c is super cold because it is staying on and restarting as the house needs cooling. Finally, It's working properly! So happy! But now, they're not returning my calls to check the furnace for the winter.....

Used Home Comfort Services in Niles, IL. The shop was recently closed. They replaced a…read morecombination HVAC unit in my Chicago condominium. The initial installation needed major rebuilding and corrections. Given the scope of the rebuild, I missed that the condenser unit was not placed properly in the wall, it is causing ongoing issues. Initially there were metal fragments on top of the condenser that went to the outside. Glad that I had a ladder to get on top of it and clean it off, before the metal fragments became airborne. The "free" vent cleaning caused dust to blow all over my condo unit. Not good when you have lung disease. I ended up cleaning dust that had been trapped in the vents. The tech didn't bring a shop vacuum to take care of. the job. They used a machine that flapped a rag around in my vents. I was concerned that the vents would be torn up. The motor itself is very loud and I still haven't gotten used to it. The contactor slams in and start up is a continual disturbance. Noted too that there are no insulators around the main electrical breaker. Decided to pass on the "free warranty." The associated service calls required to maintain the warranty were not "free." Very disappointed how the project turned out. It was stressful, expensive and subpar.

I had booked an after hours service call with DuAll knowing there was an extra charge. Donna…read morecalled around 2 pm saying there was a tech available earlier and asked if I'd be home. Of course I made myself available and she, the tech, arrived around 4. Cat was respectful and listened to my description of the a/c situation. She explained the possibilities and started the process of elimination which included examining the evaporator, which was frosted, then carefully tested for leaks. Finding no apparent leaks, she when outside and attached her gauges and found it was low on Freon, which she had predicted. One pound later the system was up and running. DuAll could have easily stalled the tech but instead offered an early appointment, what an honest business practice. The tech was professional and personable, arriving masked and ready to solve my a/c problem. I highly recommend DuAll.

Tried to tune the furnace anyway to accommodate it, which was actually kind of fun to watch all the different ways it could be done. No other HVAC technician I've ever worked with before has done that. A/C maintenance went great too. First company I've ever hired that didn't try to sell me an entirely new unit just due to a faulty capacitor. Even gave me the model number of the capacitor to replace if I want to save money and do it myself (I'm reasonably handy so it's something I'd probably do). I'll be using them for as long as they give great service!

AC died in the middle of the night. They came out the next morning and said my unit was too old…read morerepair (just over 20 years old), while ripping out something from the power box and seemingly breaking a component in there. They said they could try to do a repair for about $1.3k but that they couldn't guarantee the repair would be effective because of the condenser. They then tried to sell me on their highest end heat-pump for about $24k, which was too much for our needs, since our furnace was also functional. We ended up choosing a basic AC replacement for around $9k. They were able to install the new unit two days later. However, on the day of the install, they saw some surface level rust on the furnace heat exchanger and tried to get me to replace it for an additional $4k. When I said no, they backed off and recommended a CO alarm (which we already have). It felt like I was being heavily taken advantage of because I was in a dire situation. The installation went fine, but my experience of being pressured and hard sold to during the process made it feel like I was being milked for every penny they could get out of me. Take this as a precaution to check your HVAC AC/furnace/heat pump regularly, and get multiple quotes before deciding on work. If you go with this company, they will seemingly do an effective job, but they will try their best to get as much money out of you as possible.
