Wish so badly I could give zero stars.. This is literally the last place I'd recommend for a cake. The workers are seriously incompetent, I got a cake for my gender reveal yesterday.. it was delivered with February spelled with three "r"s in the word. Obviously we had to send it back, on top of the spelling being incorrect it was just sloppy handwriting. When my boyfriend & I finally cut into our cake, after weeks of waiting to know the gender of our baby.. the inside of the cake was white. Without pink or blue inside, so they messed that up as well. Ruined my entire gender reveal party with the biggest mistake they could possibly make. How difficult is it.. to do your job? This was truly the craziest experience I've ever had with ANY company. I'd literally recommend Walmart or fry's before I recommend this awful place. You've been warned! We have been looking for a bakery to make our wedding cake and handle the rest of the dessert options as well for over 200 people. Overall, I am very disappointed with the cake tasting and customer service at this bakery. I paid 30 dollars for 6 MINI cupcakes for my fiancé and I (think one bite each person) to taste our potential future wedding cake. The mini cupcakes at the bakery cost $3 but for some reason my tasting cost $30 instead of $18. I could've just bought mini cupcakes for cheaper. When I called to speak about my concerns I was deflected and not taken seriously. The cupcakes were mediocre, and I was told that the wedding team would follow up with a call to further assist in flavor selection and the process moving forward. Never got the call. Guess they didn't care to receive thousands of dollars of business. Bottom line: if you are shopping for a wedding cake, go somewhere else. There are too many good bakeries in the Phoenix area that would appreciate your business more and treat you as a paying customer should be treated. read more

This is the second carrot cake that I have tasted from here. The first one has more cake and a little less frosting between the layers. The cake is a pretty good with real grated carrot in the mix. The first cake I had from here has a really good cake to frosting ratio. This cake was to heavy on the frosting ..... In other words not enough cake I felt the frosting overwhelmed this cake as there was a lot of it. I also thought the frosting was somewhat grainy. A little more cream cheese on the actual frosting would make this cake delicious. The cake was good but lacked the tang that a frosting heavy on the cream cheese would give it. The appearance of the cake was very attractive and somewhat sophisticated in appearance as it was not covered in frosting carrots or the like. This was my first time purchasing a cake for an occasion and my first time purchasing one from here. I was really excited to present and eat this. However, presentation was pretty plain and the cake was extremely disappointing. I asked for a marble cake with cream cheese frosting (which is what my boyfriend said he loves)... it was dry and didn't taste like cream cheese frosting AT ALL. It could have actually of passed as a Walmart cake but twice the cost. Big rip off in my opinion. I wouldn't recommend this place if you're actually wanting to eat the cake... I wanted cake, so prior to my trip to Sprinkles I decided I would drive out to A Bakeshop to try them out too. I got there and the lady working was not very inviting at all. That rubbed me that wrong way, but I'd driven all the way out there from Tempe, so I just went ahead and bought some things. I decided to get a regular sized lemon raspberry cupcake, peanut butter sandwich cookie, and the white chocolate macadamia nut cookie. The white chocolate macadamia cookie was...meh. It's not my favourite flavour cookie usually and this one didn't change that. It was oily and blah. The cupcake was a total disappointment. It was expensive and very small for a regular sized cupcake. There was also as much frosting as there was cake. The frosting tasted good and there was only a tiny bit of raspberry goo on the lightly lemony frosting. However, the cake itself was horrible. It tasted like it was lime flavoured, and it was acid and bitter. Just freaking horrible cake. It was kind of wet too. It just was not good cake. The peanut butter sandwich cookie was amazing! It wasn't too sweet and it was just DELICIOUS! Unfortunately, the employee just seemed really annoyed that I'd even walked into the shop and with the high prices for what you get, it's really not worth going out there for the peanut butter cookie again. There are better bakeries out here that appreciate my patronage, so I'll go to those. read more

Cute Shop? Check. Taste Great? Check Moist Decedent Red Velvet Cake? Priceless. This girl loves A Bakeshop. This place is simply adorable and aesthetically perfect. I would love to have a girl tea party in this gorgeous bake shop. I was fortunate enough to receive this cake as a gift from a friend who lives out of state. Good deal, this bake shop allowed him to place the order of the phone and I picked it up when it was ready. I am not a desserts person. I've never been one to eat cake and cookies. I put my fat-calories in salty foods like chips, hot wings, and French fries. So, when it comes to cake, I usually eat the icing off the cake and then I toss the cake away. I had a very different experience with this cake. I tried to a full proper bite of this chocolate cake with a layer of strawberries in the middle and I was surprised to find it extremely moist. I should have known that a cake that heavy would be packed with delicious moistness. Ok, they have the moist factor down. The cake itself tasted extremely delicious. It didn't have that weird boxed chocolate taste. It tasted very chocolate-y, without being over-bearing with the flavor. The best part of the cake, the icing, was a buttercream that was light and non-greasy and absolutely delicious. It wasn't overly sweet, simply "Just Right". I also picked up a Red Velvet Cupcake... the still fell short of that taste I look for in a RVC. Thus, 4 stars (I reserve the 5 star bakery reviews for the bakeries with the best RVCs). This cake was extremely moist, with the absolute right approach to the taste. The texture was perfect. The small morsels of chocolate were surprising and a nice touch. The cream cheese frosting was perfectly done. Although the taste was good, it lacked the taste I grew up with. I need to try it again. This could be a 5 star bakery. I need a repeat. :-) I still think TCC has the best RVC in Phoenix. Return Factor: 90% read more
