This is the cutest little bakery! I live nearby and have been meaning to stop by. I finally did after a workday and learned that they have happy hour (50% off single items) from 4-6pm. I ordered all 4 of the macaron flavors they had that day (including this cute cactus-shaped one), a giant peanut butter brownie, and the red velvet, double chocolate, double vanilla, and salted caramel mini cupcakes. The macaron flavors were standard, but I liked how they were perfectly crunchy on the outside and soft and moist on the inside. The giant peanut butter brownie was sweet but yummy. The cupcakes were also delicious. Not gonna lie - everything in here looked SO cute that I kind of splurged the first time I went. I'd definitely come back again for other bakeshop needs or if I'm just feeling like it! This is located in a tight complex on the northeast corner of 16th St & Bethany Home. There are a few parking spots outside, and some seats inside. The decor is adorable and they sell other celebratory items in addition to pastries. read more

I walked in literally crying because Barb's Bakery ruined my wedding cupcakes for my social distance wedding. We needed nice cupcakes THE SAME DAY. I've been meaning to give this place my review for years, even when I didn't live here, I'd make a point to stop in. Well it is easy to do, I get my coffee at Luci's, cross the street to get my hands on the most delectable bakes in Phoenix!!! I'm telling you folks, this is the real deal! Best baked goodies in the valley! Get there early because once they're gone, they're gone, until the next day Got to get the cactus macaroon, and the oatmeal cream filled cookie, oh and the cupcakes...don't forget a peanut butter brownie bar too!!! We used aBakeshop for our engagement party & wedding. We opted for a smaller cutting cake for myself & my husband. It was lightly coated with buttercream & had a mocha and caramel filling. One of my favorite cupcake places in town! All the assorted cupcakes are moist & rich in flavors with the right amount of sweetness. I'm going to get a cavity after discovering this hidden gem - irresistible. I also fell in love with the beautiful yet simple decorations and glitter frostings. Try their salted caramel cupcake!!! It's soooooooo gooooooood. I was planning on making a custom cake for my boyfriend's birthday. I emailed them images of my ideas. The manager was very helpful over the phone in providing me with design alternatives and price ranges. They even arranged for me to pick-up my cake on Monday, the day I requested, even though the bakery is typically closed on Mondays. Since I loved the salted caramel cupcakes, I decided to order the salted caramel chocolate custom cake. Best decision ever! The cake was a popular hit at the party. It was like the cupcake, but double the dose. Remember to give them at least a week or more in advance to customize your cake. Once your order is finalized, there is the option to pre-pay either the full amount or half now & the rest later. The interior of the bakery is super cute. I love the pastel colors around the shop. They have a private parking lot shared with other businesses. I'll definitely be returning! read more

A Bake Shop is amazing! I've heard about for a while via instagram, but I decided I HAD TO GO! Firstly, the place is adorable. The pink couch, floral mural, and marble tables add to the deliciously girly ambience. I decided to try the macaroons and the cannolis. They were outstanding! A good price for a quality pastry. There's just not a better vanilla cake than abakeshop's triple vanilla cake. I try to stay away from sweets and desserts but when I've got a sweet tooth this is top of mind and so worth it. I just tried their Coconut Lime cupcakes, and they a super delicious and fantastic!!! I highly recommend them, or the good favorites; Strawberry, Lemon Berry(raspberry), and Banana Caramel! We have been looking for a bakery to make our wedding cake and handle the rest of the dessert options as well for over 200 people. Overall, I am very disappointed with the cake tasting and customer service at this bakery. I paid 30 dollars for 6 MINI cupcakes for my fiancé and I (think one bite each person) to taste our potential future wedding cake. The mini cupcakes at the bakery cost $3 but for some reason my tasting cost $30 instead of $18. I could've just bought mini cupcakes for cheaper. When I called to speak about my concerns I was deflected and not taken seriously. The cupcakes were mediocre, and I was told that the wedding team would follow up with a call to further assist in flavor selection and the process moving forward. Never got the call. Guess they didn't care to receive thousands of dollars of business. Bottom line: if you are shopping for a wedding cake, go somewhere else. There are too many good bakeries in the Phoenix area that would appreciate your business more and treat you as a paying customer should be treated. read more

Okay can this shop be any cuter?! The staff were so happy, and nice! The cupcakes were amazing! I had a cannoli cupcake and it was the best thing I've ever had in my life! Cannolis are my life!! This is the second carrot cake that I have tasted from here. The first one has more cake and a little less frosting between the layers. The cake is a pretty good with real grated carrot in the mix. The first cake I had from here has a really good cake to frosting ratio. This cake was to heavy on the frosting ..... In other words not enough cake I felt the frosting overwhelmed this cake as there was a lot of it. I also thought the frosting was somewhat grainy. A little more cream cheese on the actual frosting would make this cake delicious. The cake was good but lacked the tang that a frosting heavy on the cream cheese would give it. The appearance of the cake was very attractive and somewhat sophisticated in appearance as it was not covered in frosting carrots or the like. Rather than what appears to be cake crumbles on top a nice toffee crumble would really lift the cake to another level read more

We selected A Bake Shop for our wedding cake. For our testing, we met with the owner (Andrea) and tasted some of their awesome wedding cakes. The cake and frostings were delicious and had plenty of variety. Andrea talked us through the entire process, our options, and shared her opinions/preferences when we asked. Great experience, unbelievable cakes and baked treats, and awesome people. Also, they do gluten free and dairy free cakes! We purchased some macaroons in the name of product testing and one of the employees hand wrote the flavors. Love keeping my business local! read more

This cake exceeded my expectations. I'll I wanted for my birthday was CAKE and I got the best one. I was worried 6x6 was going to be too small so I called to get 8x6 but I think 6x6 would have been more than enough. This cake was huge! My friends kept saying "it's so pretty like a wedding cake". I would give 100 stars if I could :) The red velvet had a few chocolate chips inside that were a perfect touch. They also have cute pastries there and the cutest candles/party supplies. read more

This was my first time purchasing a cake for an occasion and my first time purchasing one from here. I was really excited to present and eat this. However, presentation was pretty plain and the cake was extremely disappointing. I asked for a marble cake with cream cheese frosting (which is what my boyfriend said he loves)... it was dry and didn't taste like cream cheese frosting AT ALL. It could have actually of passed as a Walmart cake but twice the cost. Big rip off in my opinion. I wouldn't recommend this place if you're actually wanting to eat the cake... I did however snag some cookies and those seemed to of been way better. Perhaps their expertise is more on the cookies and cupcakes side. Staff was friendly and responsive when emailing plus the place was super cute but the fact that I was so disappointed with the outcome, I will NOT be going back and letting all of my friends know since they were inquiring about it. read more

Meh....I came in around 2pm so I assume it was end of day because stock was low. I got a raspberry lemon bar for myself....kind of had the refrigerator taste to it like it was old(er). I got a fundetti Cakepop and salted caramel mini cupcake, my boss loved the cupcake but said the cakepop was decent. The sugar cookie was decent as well (from another coworker) Overall, a tad overpriced for mediocre product. read more

My cousin blessed me with this place when we stopped by before my flight back home to Texas. I ordered the oatmeal creme pie and it literally was the best thing I have had in sooooo long. My cake was a show stopper! All the servers and employees of the venue said it's one of the best they have ever seen. I was shocked when I saw it. I knew we had spent a lot of money on the cake but with the way it looked I would of paid double! Great job impressing me and my guests! The flavor was exactly like what my partner and myself had tasted 6 months ago, so perfect. Also the fondant was edible in a good way and didn't leave your mouth with that horrible coded feeling. A Bakeshop is absolutely phenomenal! I spoke with Stephen who was extremely helpful, kind and went above and beyond to make sure my order was taken care of in time. I ended up ordering a few boxes of goodies (bars, macaroons, mini cupcakes, & cookies..) for a business meeting, and by the end of the meeting all of them were gone.. Such a treat! We added a waterfall of white flowers to match my wedding esthetic and it could not have turned out better! It also tasted amazing! Absolutely disgusted. I have ordered from them before and have referred family and friends to order from them. Ordered a vegan cake and cupcakes and a week later found out my cupcakes weren't vegan. Absolutely disgusted. Then they emailed me saying I never specified the cupcakes to be vegan. In the email they gave me two options for vegan flavors, in what world would they think me replying to the vegan choices they offered that I was asking for non-vegan? I will never go here again. Unfortunately I didn't know this until I referred another friend to them, who spend $150+ on 2 dozen cupcakes, and they told her my cupcakes weren't vegan. I am so disappointed in them, I literally cannot believe this. Now I am questioning if my order that I had from them in May was vegan. I even paid extra for it to be organic, do I even trust that it was, not anymore. Even when I paid and left a great tip I verified everything was vegan. How disgraceful. read more

I read the reviews, and i wanted to try, so I called ahead of time to buy cupcakes. I live in North Scottsdale. I was politely told the hours and then I specifically asked if " cupcakes" were available when i arrived. I was told that they were available. When i arrived the young lady told me that they only keep "mini" cupcakes in the store for purchace. I was not told, this over the phone when i called, there was no appology offered for my drive over to Phoenix and i was very dissapointed. i left and could only "assume" that "regular" cupcakes are only sold by order only..I was not impressed by the selection and i was not interested in what was being displayed. I have many great bakeries in my area of N. Scottsdale, with good honest service. I think the service here is very misleading, and the selection was not worth the drive.. read more

Meet the Business Owner: Andrea T.

Raised in an Italian family, I always loved to bake. I grew up learning Italian desserts from my grandmother and spent many years making desserts at my parent's authentic Italian restaurant in Sun City, Dominic's. In 2008, I dove head first into the bakery business with All Caked Up, specializing in custom wedding cakes, party cakes, cupcakes, and anything else that can satisfy a mean sweet tooth. As business grew and word spread, my corner in the restaurant's kitchen proved to be too small. Summer of 2014 will forever be engrained in my heart as the time I ventured out on my own and opened my first bakery. Thank you for sharing this journey with me. I hope a Bakeshop becomes somewhere you love to be as much as I do.

I am infamous in the family for my dessert rxtravagance. But I share with all at our table. Take your choice! Our niece got cannoli, I got lidded shortbread custard cups, vanilla and almond. Sweet D got a cherry and an apple turnover delivered into the box. It is five days later. My sugar intake has dropped a lot. In our home baking we cut sugar ingredients by half. Older Hopi bakers put in enough sugar for a hint of sweet in their cookies. Modern bakers glaze them. I'll take those traditional ones. When I say the shortbread cup with custard was too sweet for me, that's my 21st century palate speaking. The almond cup was a buy-again item for me, still sweet, very almond. The cherry turnover was flaky, the filling tart, oozing fillng and cherries. The gold medal, blue ribbon "I'd buy this again, for sure is the apple turnover. Service (3/5): A little bit of bad luck, but on my most recent visit, they were having trouble with their refrigeration so no gelato was available. While interacting with the staff, it was an average experience. I will say that the service was much better in the restaurant. Drinks (N/A): I only got dessert, but they do have coffee and a few other beverages available. Food (4/5): The Sicilian Baker is known for its cannolis, tiramisu, gelato, and lobster claws (dessert, not real lobster haha). On my most recent visit, I had a cannoli. They have your classic cannoli but also a nice variety of other fillings including pistachio, Reese's, and more. A+ for creativity, though I decided to stick with the classic. Solid. In fact, all of the desserts I've had here over the years have been quite good.
