This is by far the BEST BAKERY IN THE VALlLY!!!!! Not just incredible service a family ran bus I was but truly cannot get better backed goods anywhere else's!!! They have a coffee shops (flour shop) and activity nights planned around painting cakes and putting flower boutiques together you can't get better than this place!!!!!!
After wanting to try A Bakeshop for quite some time, I finally had the perfect excuse - I was in search of a birthday cake to gift to my girlfriend. I was so excited about their options that I ended up walking away with two! First I checked out their website, where I was able to view the assortment of treats they offer (cakes, cookies, macarons, specialty desserts) and their different cake options. You can of course reach out for custom designs, but since I was happy with their core offerings, I was able to easily order online and selected a pick up window for a few weeks later. I'm not sure if they have always had this option or if it was sparked by COVID, but it was such an easy transaction. Delivery is available too for a few and within a certain radius. Pick up was easy and the girl working was super nice and masked up. She made sure to verify the order and opened each cake box so I could confirm that the items were correct. I also walked away with one of their cactus macarons because.. duh. The space itself is cute. They have a display case with some of their smaller treats available for purchase each day. I went with a 6" Funfetti cake and a 6" Rice Crispy cake... because.... it's a rice crispy cake?!?! The rice crispy option allows you to select your filling too (I went with funfetti buttercream). They each had four layers. Both cakes are quoted to serve 8-14 and that is definitely true. You get a LOT of cake (or rice crispy)! The rice crispy cake was a total hit. I was worried that it might be too hard or not as amazing as it sounded but it absolutely was. Probably the best rice crispy treat concoction that all of us have ever had. Plus, it came with two macarons on top which were delicious. The funfetti cake looked amazing and tasted good too. The cake was a little more on the dense side but I enjoyed it. Paired with the buttercream it was rich and I could barely finish a slice (if you know me you know this doesn't happen often). Overall, the entire process was seamless and the cakes absolutely met my expectations. I can't wait to try some of their other flavors in the future and will definitely return!
We wanted a little something sweet and came to a bakeshop. The parking is shared with other businesses and is cramped and busy. The shop is super cute and simple. We were quickly greeted and helped. They have cupcakes, macarons, cookies, bars and pops. Plenty of options. We got 6 mini cupcakes, cookies and macarons. Everything was almost $50!! Lol pricey but everything tasted great! Cupcakes were small but perfect. We got 2 vanilla, 2 strawberry, a lemon raspberry and an Oreo. They were all moist and a big swirl of icing on the top. The icing was a little dense but good. The flavors of the cupcakes shined through. The macarons were all perfectly made and tasted great. The cookies were freshly baked and tasted amazing as well. Overall, the have wonderful options to choose from and everything tasted fantastic. The prices were a little high but I would rather support a local small business over a chain any day of the week. We will definitely pop back in again!
Incredible baker!! We used A Bakeshop for both our wedding cake and desserts. They are EXPERTS when it comes to gluten free cakes. It was so good our guests could not even tell the difference. I loved the cactus macaroons and everyone ate the churros and brownies too. Would highly recommend using them again!
I'm updating my review just to add pictures showing the contrast between what the colors were supposed to look like and how they actually looked. I thought I'd already added these but then saw they weren't part of my original review. I'm curious if anyone thinks the colors turned out "spot on," as A Bake Shop described them. Vote "funny" if you do NOT think colors are spot on and vote "cool" if you think they are. Don't let my opinion bias you.
Are you looking for a cute, fun & delicious sugar fix .. or a beautiful dessert for your next party.. stop by this little bakery and give them a shot! I first tried their yummy mini cupcakes & cactus shaped macaroons at a yelp event and have had them several times since! Staff is always welcoming! Cute Instagram friendly store front just draws you in! They have various cupcakes flavors, macaroons, cookies, amazing lemon bars and even wedding cakes!! They are taking orders for an adorable Valentine's Day cake with sprinkles & two macaroons on top!! Almost to cute to eat!! Parking is terrible but don't let that stop you! Eat some there and grab some to go!!
So I wanted to surprise a friend for his 30th birthday who was working in Arizona for the Super Bowl. I was ordering out of state and was worried it wouldn't be an easy process. I called the shop and explained everything to Stephen and he made everything easy from the details, to delivery. I was sent a picture of the cake prior to delivery and the writing was not what I expected. They were very kind to fix it prior to delivery which I was very thankful and impressed! I gave four stars because my friend said it was beautiful cake and the icing was good but the cake part tasted funny. For $140 to be made/delivered I thought he would have enjoyed, I obviously did not taste the cake and everyone's taste buds are different.
Hello. So, I have frequented this place for years at the old location. My favorite thing is the ricotta cookies. This morning when I called to see if they had some in their cookie case, they did. So, yay, they set aside some cookies for me. I went to the old location because it has been a will since I had visited Phoenix. Anyway, once I found the place, they did have my cookies ready. They were a little cold, but room temp made them delicious as usual. So, why not five stars? Well, although the new place is very pretty and extremely clean, it seems it just wasn't home and local feeling like before. Still, it is THE place if you need a cake in Phoenix. It is just a little far from where I live now, so I will not be able to swing by and pick up goodies on a whim like I have in the past. The counter help was friendly Also, once they realized my sweet Fang has earned the right to go everywhere, they were super friendly.
I ordered a cake for my wife's birthday and was super pleased with the taste and the look/design of the cake. I sent them a Pinterest picture of a rainbow cake and was amazed on how good it came out. Not only did it look how it looked in the picture but the layering and the taste was very delicious. I was not disappointed, we will definitely order again for our next event. read more

I ordered macaroons and cookies from A Bake Shop for a baby shower I hosted. Everything turned out fantastic! The macaroons were the best I've ever had! We had a gradient of pinks and they turned out exactly like the photo I sent them for inspiration. Also, they were very helpful. I knew I wanted cookies and they made helpful suggestions. I wanted cake, so prior to my trip to Sprinkles I decided I would drive out to A Bakeshop to try them out too. I got there and the lady working was not very inviting at all. That rubbed me that wrong way, but I'd driven all the way out there from Tempe, so I just went ahead and bought some things. I decided to get a regular sized lemon raspberry cupcake, peanut butter sandwich cookie, and the white chocolate macadamia nut cookie. The white chocolate macadamia cookie was...meh. It's not my favourite flavour cookie usually and this one didn't change that. It was oily and blah. The cupcake was a total disappointment. It was expensive and very small for a regular sized cupcake. There was also as much frosting as there was cake. The frosting tasted good and there was only a tiny bit of raspberry goo on the lightly lemony frosting. However, the cake itself was horrible. It tasted like it was lime flavoured, and it was acid and bitter. Just freaking horrible cake. It was kind of wet too. It just was not good cake. The peanut butter sandwich cookie was amazing! It wasn't too sweet and it was just DELICIOUS! Unfortunately, the employee just seemed really annoyed that I'd even walked into the shop and with the high prices for what you get, it's really not worth going out there for the peanut butter cookie again. There are better bakeries out here that appreciate my patronage, so I'll go to those. read more

I went to ABakeshop yesterday to order a custom baby shower cake for Nov. I looked into every bakery in Phoenix and chose this bakery based on the amazing work on their Instagram page. I am very confident my cake will be super cute!!! My review is for the treats I picked up while I was there. My dad passed a year ago and Monday is his birthday. His favorite cake was German Chocolate Cake, so I got 6 German Chocolate Cupcakes for my family. These were AMAZING!!! Hands down the best I have ever had! The cake was moist, and you could taste the love in the pecan coconut topping. I can't wait to see how amazing our baby shower cake will taste as well! Highly recommend! ****update***** Picked up our baby shower cake referenced above. The cake (pictured) was adorable!!! It was everything I had hoped for and communicated what I wanted. The employee was very nice when she gave the cake to me and explained when to set out for shower. When we finally cut into cake, it was so delish!!! We ordered triple chocolate and it was incredible!!!! So glad I took a chance and went to a bake shop!! read more
Cute Shop? Check. Taste Great? Check Moist Decedent Red Velvet Cake? Priceless. This girl loves A Bakeshop. This place is simply adorable and aesthetically perfect. I would love to have a girl tea party in this gorgeous bake shop. I was fortunate enough to receive this cake as a gift from a friend who lives out of state. Good deal, this bake shop allowed him to place the order of the phone and I picked it up when it was ready. I am not a desserts person. I've never been one to eat cake and cookies. I put my fat-calories in salty foods like chips, hot wings, and French fries. So, when it comes to cake, I usually eat the icing off the cake and then I toss the cake away. I had a very different experience with this cake. I tried to a full proper bite of this chocolate cake with a layer of strawberries in the middle and I was surprised to find it extremely moist. I should have known that a cake that heavy would be packed with delicious moistness. Ok, they have the moist factor down. The cake itself tasted extremely delicious. It didn't have that weird boxed chocolate taste. It tasted very chocolate-y, without being over-bearing with the flavor. The best part of the cake, the icing, was a buttercream that was light and non-greasy and absolutely delicious. It wasn't overly sweet, simply "Just Right". I also picked up a Red Velvet Cupcake... the still fell short of that taste I look for in a RVC. Thus, 4 stars (I reserve the 5 star bakery reviews for the bakeries with the best RVCs). This cake was extremely moist, with the absolute right approach to the taste. The texture was perfect. The small morsels of chocolate were surprising and a nice touch. The cream cheese frosting was perfectly done. Although the taste was good, it lacked the taste I grew up with. I need to try it again. This could be a 5 star bakery. I need a repeat. :-) I still think TCC has the best RVC in Phoenix. Return Factor: 90% read more
5 STARS!! WOW!!! If you are a sweet junkie like myself, you must make your way to BAKESHOP!! The cupcake selection was awesome, we went with chocolate salted caramel and the triple vanilla which had vanilla custard filling!! I also went hard in the cookie department and picked up chocolate chip cookies, an oatmeal cream pie and a red velvet white chocolate chip whoopie pie!! The chocolate chip cookie are to die for!! WOW! I absolutely cannot wait to come back and try everything else!!! Holy Smokes, mind blown!!! Everything is made fresh and can sell out, come early to get the best selection. Also my wife wanted me to add how cute the decor and stuff were, lol. 4/2/16 Update I've been back several times and the goodies are consistently yummy!! My last few trips I've struck out on my favorite, chocolate chip cookies, because they have been sold out by the time I've gotten to the shop. Oatmeal Cream Pies are still a close second for my favorite treat, got lucky yesterday and was able to purchase the last (2). Love that their cupcakes come with a mini version. It gives me the option of trying more flavors. I've tried the triple vanilla, chocolate salted caramel,vanilla salted caramel, lemon berry, strawberry, pina colada and the banana cupcakes. The best ones are the lemon berry and strawberry. They're very moist, just the right size to satisfy your sweet tooth! They're mini but are packed with a lot of flavor. I love their macarons, definitely one of the best I've ever had! So moist, so chewy, not dry or hard. So perfectly made! I've tried a couple of them and strawberry and lemon are the best ones for me! I'm so addicted to this place, more people need to come here it's amazing! read more

Love love love this BakeShop! My MOH introduced us to the BakeShop when she ordered my bridal shower cake from them and it was amazing! It was the coconut cake with the coconut filling.l seriously so good!! Since then I have order 4 additional cakes and they never disappoint. We've tried the red velvet and lemon raspberry. Our favorite by far is the lemon raspberry so moist and delicious. The presentation is just too cute! Although there location is a 45 min drive from us it's worth every minute! read more
Let me start by apologizing to anyone who has ever baked me a cake or given me a cake prior to A Bakeshop's cake. I was gifted with a lively, simple classic vanilla cake this week from a Bakeshop and I can say I have never eaten a more delicious tasting vanilla cake in my life. It was aromatic with the sweetness of sugar and cream but not over powered. By the time I even took a bite, I knew this cake was going to be delicious. I was right. Tasting became an entire experience that had the perfect amount of sweet and the exact, and I say exact, amount of salt that kept it grounded and tasty. I will never enjoy another cake like I did from a Bakeshop. They will have my business from this point forward. A true slice of Heaven. Well done, you will go places and I will follow. read more

A Bakeshop did all of the desserts and favors for my mom and now stepdads wedding in May. They were absolutely wonderful to work with from the beginning. At the tasting we were greeted by the owner and tasted a few different cupcakes and macaroons. The three of us left impressed by how delicious everything was and how friendly the owner was. They were very easy to communicate with, had fair pricing, set everything up for us, and the guests at the wedding were RAVING about how good the desserts were. Thank you A Bakeshop we want to have another party just so we can hire you again. Your desserts were absolutely incredible! read more

The S'mores Cupcakes are absolutely to die for! Chocolate cake, chocolate graham cracker ganache filling, topped with toasted marshmellow cream frosting. Do yourself a favor... Try them!!! read more
I've been wanting to go to a bake shop's storefront for a while now & so happy I finally got to stop by. I first tried their macaroons at Teaspressa (the unicorn caramel macaroon is to die for). Today we got a cookies & cream, raspberry lemon & cactus vanilla macaroon, a cactus cookie & an oatmeal cookie pie. We're hopeful it'll last more than the day, but my expectations are low. All the macaroons I've ever had here are delicious & the pricing for the regular/circular ones are cheaper at $2 each vs $4 for the specialty shapes. On top of the delicious treats they have the cutest shop ever. I'll definitely be back! read more

Three little letters: OMG! This place is CRAZY good! Sure, you can stop in to pick up one item to satisfy your sweet tooth. But, why would you stop at one? The desserts here look good and taste DEVINE! I dare you to walk in and order one item. Your eyes will be bulging, your taste buds salivating and your credit card set back a few bucks. But the tastes and textures are well worth suffering from an expanded waistline, clogged arteries and an extra cavity.. Don't say I didn't warn you. read more

At the corner of 16th st and Bethany home you could try and cure your sweet tooth craving a few different ways. Sweet republic is great for ice cream we all know that already. I would rather eat a lot of things before eating a dunking donut (they don't even make them there they receive them frozen) the pastries at Luci's just don't do it for me personally, and after 3 visits to "the bakery phoenix" shop right next to the garage- I'm just consistently disappointed with their offerings. The absolute best way to cure your sugar craving? GO TO A BAKESHOP. NOW. The staff are unbelievably passionate and friendly. I get this insane feeling of euphoria and disorientation eating their precious and delightfully baked goods. I have to admit my jeans are getting tight and my tastebuds have had the pleasure of meeting: the best peanut butter cookie ever, magic bars, s'mores cupcake- the marshmallow butter cream is nuts. So so good. The chocolate salted caramel cupcake which was balanced and made me want more, instantly. I'm typically not even excited by vanilla or strawberry cupcakes. Both of which I tried from here were great. I was blown away by the pure taste of the real strawberry or sweet vanilla flavor coming through. The cake itself is super moist and light and the amount of frosting and the texture is just perfect! Please, if you don't believe me go and try something. I LOVE A BAKESHOP!!! I first visited this spot for my cake tasting for our wedding. OMG so amazing! We chose the vanilla cupcakes with ganache (I apologize I don't know the correct description haha) AND s'mores cupcakes for our wedding with a 1 tier cake for cutting-vanilla of course! I've never tasted such a moist AND perfectly sweet and smooth icing on a cupcake/cake. Let me tell you about the macaroons! My hubs and I went to Paris for our honeymoon and the macaroons were delightful and I grew a love for them. Shortly after our honeymoon was my birthday, and my sweet hubs surprised me with macaroons from A Bake Shop and I fell in love with him all over again! We come here all the time for all our friends and families parties and birthdays.. and the feedback is always positive. Andrea, the owner, is sooo friendly and approachable that I would probably just go sit on their cute pink couch just to hang out with her and eat their baked goods. I plan on being a regular her for life, as we live literally down the street. Brownie points to my husband for deciding to live here! read more

I got three cupcakes; strawberry, chocolate and vanilla. I just tried the chocolate one and it was delicious. It was very moist and not too sweet. The frosting was creamy and decadent. I would recommend this bakery and will definitely be back specially to try the salted caramel cupcake. We were greeted by two delightful young ladies that were very pleasant and answered all the questions we had. The decor was absolutely adorable and creative and that alone was worth the visit. read more

My inner fat kid has a mind of his own. Had just finished dessert somewhere else. Couldn't help myself. I love cannolis like I grew up Italian. I didn't. Then I saw the magic bars and the cheesecakes. Had to try a Magic Bar, and the peanut butter cream cheese brownie bar. I could get in trouble here. I at the cannoli before we got home. The magic brownie died on the way home. I tried mouth to mouth but I ate it. We don't need to talk about the peanut butter brownie. It's only partially gone lol. I need a nap now. read more

I special ordered a Harry Potter-themed cake, mini fruit tarts and mini cupcakes from A Bakeshop for my sister-in-law's Bridal Shower. I'm so, so glad that I went with A Bakeshop because everything turned out perfect. I emailed Andrea with questions and she was able to make suggestions about what would fit within my budget. I was seriously so impressed with the cake! The golden snitch on top was genius and perfectly done. All of the bridal shower attendees raved about how the cake was so delicious. My personal favorite were the mini fruit tarts. They don't usually stock them in the bake case and are special order, which is a shame, but maybe a good thing for my waistline. The fruit tarts are like crack. The tart pastry itself is absolute magic. Everyone who tried it had the same reaction: eyes wide, mouth in a little 'o' of shock. Seriously, order yourself some mini fruit tarts for your next event! read more
I struggled with giving 3 or 4 stars but ultimately chose 3. I was sadly disappointed by this bakery, but maybe I let myself get too excited. I ordered a cake from here and was very specific about my wants for the cake. I spoke to them ahead of time and wanted to make sure that my asks for the cake were realistic and doable. They said they were. I ordered the lemon berry cake. I asked that the frosting was dyed, and that there were no lemon garnishes, only berries/leaves. When the cake was picked up, the cake was not at all the color that I asked for. It appeared like the color of chocolate frosting and was mostly brown instead of the purple I asked for. There were lemon garnishes when I asked for none. Visually, it wasn't what I asked for or imagined. I was really disappointed by that. The 3 stars are an honest review but the positive part was that the cake was truly delicious. While the cake didn't look how I wanted it to, it was a crowd pleaser. The lemon was not too powerful and the berry was light. The cake was eaten by everyone. In my review I attached 3 pictures. One is the visual of the cake we asked for (the purple with blackberries), one is a picture of the cake we received (the brownish cake with lemon and a few berries) and the inside of the cake. read more
The treats here are always spot on. I received a delicious birthday cake from here (strawberry) and it was so delicious. A lot of fruit flavors can taste artificial in bakeries, but everything from here tastes natural and fresh. They also do an assortment of mini cupcakes that is perfect for small gatherings or just because. This is my go-to bakery! read more

Wow, I'm so impressed! I was asked to put together a company Poker night at work at the last minute and only had about a week and a half to get this party together. I emailed A Bakeshop and had them do 15 cupcakes with a Fondant poker chip and 15 cupcakes without (I made toppers for these). Constance called me and got the request in 1 week before the event and she made recommendations for flavors. We ended up doing the Ruby (red velvet) with the fondant poker chips and the Cassata (while Italian wedding cake)- both were a hit and ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS. Thank you so much! read more

By far, the best cupcakes I've had in the valley! Very moist, tasty and the icing is not overly sweet like everyone else. Both me and my husband loved the flavors we chose. We got strawberry, red velvet, salted caramel, and vanilla. My favorite was the strawberry cupcake. Not only was it tasty, it looked absolutely beautiful too. Worth driving all the way to Phoenix for! Will be going there again and recommending it for sure! Definitely worth trying Yelpers! read more

I ordered a cake and mini cupcakes for my mother's birthday. She wanted a fall theme. When ordering I found the owner, Andrea, to be very kind and easy to work with. I sent her a cake picture of something I thought would be good for my mom. When I went to pick it up I saw that I matched their beautiful flower mural! The staff was kind. The cake looked beautiful. Everyone at the party loved the look of the cake, especially my mom. And it was delicious! Everyone was very happy with the taste. I thought the price was very reasonable. I definitely recommend this bakery! read more

The Cassera Cakewas the best cake I have ever had! We learned about A Bakeshop about 5 days before our tiny wedding and were able to order a small cake in time. I am sure we will be visiting this bakery frequently! read more
