Went here for lunch upon a friend's recommendation. Don't let the outside fool you. Inside is nicely decorated and super clean. I'm no Vietnamese food expert, but I really enjoyed my meal. Even the iced tea was good. Seemed to be of a high quality...not Lipton. I got spring rolls which were fresh and tasty (when dipped in sauce). Then hate a beef on vermicelli dish that was also good. I added some sriracha for a kick. Very big portion. I was impressed by the freshness, quantity, and tenderness of the beef. Pho-hunter here.....found: best Pho in town!? Since moving back to the Alamo City I've been searching for the best soup....it may be here! Have tried 'em all (that I know of)....not only is the broth the richest I've had in SA, but the veggies and herbs are among the freshest I've had anywhere in my US travels, and the basil provided is plentiful, beautiful & fresh. Other restaurants in town serve bruised or wilted basil or even NO basil....not here! Give it a try ASAP my fellow Pho-natics! It's about 3 months old...so glad they've opened! Service is prompt and the place is very clean. I will give only 4 stars now but watch for consistency....and come back to upgrade as indicated. Decent Vietnamese food. We ordered the fish sauce wings and whole fried fish. The service was great, but the food wasn't to my liking. Both dishes came out hot and fresh, however the wings were slightly over cooked and too sweet. The fish was fried perfectly with a great crunchy exterior and fluffy flakes inside however it wasn't seasoned at all. Although the food was decent, nothing really stuck out. The Pho was okay, I have pretty high standards when it comes to pho because I am a Pho lover and self-proclaimed expert in pho bowls. The quality is better than their neighbor Pho Hung Cuong located in dezavala. But its really not that hard to be better than Pho Hung Cuong theyre terrible. So If I was craving pho and didnt one to drive past 2 miles from my house and had to pick between these two than I would pick A Dong. The place is clean and its been open for less than a couple months I think. But they could definitely work on their quality of their broth. read more

Great Vietnamese food. Staff is very friendly and polite. It's a good place to go with you need a quick lunch. Always my favorite, I did the Chicken Pho today with the Coconut water(Amazing) I could drink this everyday. The service was very fast and the taste was on point. The bun bo hue was delicious. Most viet places in San Antonio can make passable Pho but bun bo hue is notoriously difficult to make well. This place knocked it out of the park. Will definitely be coming back. read more

We decided to try this place out since its in the neighborhood and its been getting a lot of good reviews. Inside it has a modern touch but the ambience is nice. They have various dishes of Pho which I didn't know since I felt the only place to get Pho was in the medical center. I had a Pho dish with shrimp, pork, and fish balls. Were excited to check this place out. Went easter Sunday around 11 a.m. With my wife and son. Ordered appetizers (shrimp eggrolls). They were so good, we then ordered our entree. Mine and my sons was delivered to the table and we waited for my wifes food to arrive. The waiter came over twice stating it should be coming out soon. Nearly 30 minutes we waited for her food to arrive. Time for the check and gave the waiter cash and took nearly 15 more minutes to get the change back. Food is superb, the service is horrible. We will go again due to ths may have been due to all the Easter church goers flooding the restaurant after Sunday service. read more

Pretty good here, I'd recommend the phô with raw beef. The cuts of beef are awesome and shaved which makes them easier to eat in that dish. The menu is varied and adds Chinese to the options too. This however isn't in the haphazard way that most places do it, their menu seems carefully created to avoid that. The service is almost always perfect, so no worries there. Their dumplings however aren't my favorite, and I'd recommend trying the spring rolls instead. read more

We asked the server how big the plates were, as we were going to share. She said they weren't large. Turned out to be enough for four meals . I don't like leftovers so 3/4 of my meal went untouched. I was craving Vietnamese food so I had to give this place a try. The restaurant itself looks brand new, upscale, and clean. The servers are really attentive and sweet which makes the dining experience all the better. I can only attest to the Vietnamese food here. Being Vietnamese I can confidently say that their food is very authentic. I've gotten the Pho, Bo tai chanh (rare beef salad), baked salty pork, and the fish clay pot. The proportions are huuuuuge so I find its easy to order "family style" and just share everything. I've come here twice now and haven't been disappointed in my service or food. Bad experience. I ordered garlic chicken, which had a little pepper icon next to it, meaning "spicy." The dish that came had no garlic in it whatsoever, and was not spicy, at all. Totally tasteless. (Plus, it had a lot of vegetables in it, which were not in the description.) My brother ordered a dish with beef and asked that it be made very spicy. His food was also not spicy, at all, and the beef was not good quality. read more

If i could give this restaurant an even lower rating, I would. I decided to try their lunch special to go. As I approached the doorway, I noticed that the door windows, handle, and trim were absolutely filthy. That was my first clue that I should head the other direction; unfortunately, I didn't listen to the alarm bells. The man working the register was dour and unfriendly when I asked a couple of questions. The only time he spoke directly to me was to inform me that the soup that comes with the lunch special is not included in the to-go meal. O, ok. When I got my meal home, the chicken meat was so disgusting that I wound up feeding most of it to the dogs. The cuts were poorly trimmed with gristle and fatty skin still attached. Some of the pieces seemed to be thigh meat, but others looked like saddle or organ meat. They were also an unappetizing gray color. Shudder. My friends and I tried this place out Friday night around 7pm. The place wasn't busy at all. Our waiter took our order shortly after we sat down which was really nice. However ...our food came out to us individually. It was a bit disappointing to have to wait for everyone to get their dishes so we can all eat together. Our waiter never came back to check on us or even ask if we would like any refills. The rice was hard as if it was reheated, the pho broth was too dark and salty for it to be made traditionally from a beef bone, it tasted more like broth made from a beef flavoring pack. The spring rolls were Ok, the charbroiled beef was too dry with no moisture inside. We were debating on if we should give them another try when the waiter gave us our check; we notice there was an arrow pointing to the gratuity section. The last time I checked, gratuity is earned. I have been to both of their locations : the Forum parkway and this one. Even though I appreciate the spacious and magnificent interior, I feel like the service is just so much slower than the other location. Staffs are not very attentive at all as they usually just hang out together further away at the check out station. Foods are good though! read more

Beef Pho isn't good. Vermicelli is good. The server that we had was the worst server in all of San Antonio. I think he forgot to put our order in.
