Been here about 5 times now and we always get the aguachiles roll and diablos roll. The diablos roll has been one of the spiciest rolls I've ever had - it is lathered in habanero and serrano chiles. Ive always been here during their happy hour/ social hour became the deals they have are pretty good with beer and select sushi rolls. My only issue with this place is that 4/5 times I have been here, they have given me my check with incorrect pricing. They have attempted to charged the full price of whatever items we had got and not the happy hour/ social hour price. I did not enter the restaurant, but I personally witnessed a very concerning situation from the back area of the establishment where supplies were being unloaded and delivered into the restaurant. While a delivery driver was bringing supplies from the rear of the building, I observed what appeared to be rats coming from the back area and moving toward the restaurant area. What was even more concerning was the way the situation was handled. The driver appeared careless and attempted to step on the animal and strike at it in an area directly connected to where food supplies were being handled. As a customer and member of the public, witnessing this was extremely disappointing and raised serious concerns about sanitation, food safety, and the overall management of the delivery and storage areas. A restaurant has a responsibility to maintain a clean and safe environment, especially in areas where food products are received and transported inside. I believe this matter deserves immediate attention from the restaurant owners and appropriate health officials. Proper pest control, employee training, and strict sanitation procedures are essential for any food establishment. I hope management takes this observation seriously and investigates the situation to ensure that customers are protected and that proper health and safety standards are being followed. read more

By far the best sushi restaurant in San Fernando imo!!! I honestly don't remember how my husband and I first stumbled upon this place, but I'm glad we did because their sushi and drinks are bomb. Since the restaurant has a Mexican theme, I wasn't totally sure what to expect at first, but I ended up falling in love with their salmon hand rolls and spicy garlic edamame. My husband and I especially loved the spicy garlic edamame sauce. It is seriously so delicious! I also love their Mexican candy cocktail, which I've ordered as a mocktail too, and it was still really good. After I gave birth to my son, this was one of the first places I came running back to for sushi, and it was absolutely worth the wait. Lol. Parking around the area can be annoying, especially on weekends, but there's a huge parking lot behind the restaurant with plenty of space, so that definitely helps. I WISH I COULD GIVE THIS PLACE 5 STARS. The majority of the food we tried was amaaaazing and absolutely deserving of 5 stars. Here's why I'm only giving 3, though. When you first walk in, there's a very strong perfume-like scent. It reminds me of Febreze and is pretty overwhelming at first. I was with a party of four, and we ordered two trays of rolls, about 12 rolls total, plus some nigiri. Needless to say, we tried a lot of rolls tonight. I don't remember any of them by name, but I can say with absolute certainty that none disappointed. I'm Mexican, so it was beautiful to see familiar heat, acidity, and seasoning being thoughtfully merged with sushi. Everyone at the table was equally impressed. That said, there was one very (extremely!) spicy roll made with habaneros. This one is not for everyone. Our friend who is a spice king absolutely devoured it without so much as a heat-induced sniffle. I consider myself well versed in all things spicy, and I have to say, it kind of kicked my butt. At one point, I felt like my gums were bleeding because the heat was so intense and felt like it was eating away at them. I'm laughing as I type this. So yeah, that one was a bit too much. Still delicious, though. Here's where they could improve. The sunomono salad, which I typically love from other establishments and have even learned to make at home, was absolutely bland. Plain cucumbers with a sprinkle of salt and lemon would have had more flavor than that salad. That was very disappointing. The calamari was overfried, teetering on the edge of burned, and just didn't taste very good. The garlic edamame was also lacking salt. Service was slow. Very, very slow. We had a fun group, so the wait wasn't totally wasted, but if you're starving, you'll probably get very hangry. It's also very loud inside. They had a football game on, and everyone was very rowdy, including a group of women who seemed to think ringing a cowbell after every play was appropriate. Yes, they had a cowbell. Really obnoxious. So this is why I say I wish I could give it 5 stars. The food, for the most part, was fantastic. Everything else was just okay. Came to A La Diabla Sushi and honestly had such a great experience. Huge shoutout to Adam, the bartender his service was a solid 10/10. Super friendly and really knew what to recommend. He suggested the Raspberry Lemon Drop and the Matcha Martini, and both were amazing not too sweet, not too strong, just perfect. Food was just as good. I had the yellowtail with jalapeño and sriracha, and it was so fresh and flavorful. I squeezed some lemon on top and it took it to another level. I also tried the fried pickles, which were crispy and really good great starter. I tried the local A La Diabla sushi location to me. It's nestled in the San Fernando mall. Nice location. Parking in the front across the street or in the rear. I got seated right away on a Sunday around 6pm. The place was half filled. Vibey, music, TVs. Hostess took our drink order and came back like 10 min later with just the michelada. We ordered water with ice. We ordered the Fuego platter, heart attack and a suimono / cucumber salad. The waitress had a hard time taking our order for some reason. From the time we ordered our food which was the time I received the michelada was 20+ min. I counted 8+ staff members about and some coming from the back to mingle. They checked in on us but it felt like the chisme was more important. The Fuego Platter is a great deal on Sundays it's $45 for 6 rolls. Which is honestly a steal. The rolls are smaller but for $45 it's a great deal. So I had to check it out. I'll just talk about what stood out and what was meh. The Pancho Villa roll was good and the crispy onions give the roll a different profile than others. The dynamite roll was good. Flavorful. Not over done. Everything tasted fresh. Aguachile roll was good too. If a roll has fresh jalapeño and cilantro on it then that's all you're gonna taste. That pretty much overwhelms the fish or roll in this case. They use a lot of cilantro which I don't mind but the rolls that had cilantro just ended up tasting like each other. My suggestion would be get some baked, some fresh and some tempura with and without cilantro y jalapeño. The heart attack looked amazing but it tasted pretty bland. Hard pass. The cucumber salad super plain. Pass. The appetizers came out with the mains so it kind of defeats the purpose of them being appetizers. One last thing to note we had to ask for plates and wasabi n ginger. Chopsticks and napkins are already at the table. I don't know if I'll be back to be honest. The service was lackluster. Based on the name, I assumed it would be a Mexican-sushi fusion spot and I'd say that description is spot on. Parking was a bit of a challenge for a Thursday night. Pretty busy and i already know theres a lot of shops around that san fernando strip mall which is where this sushi spot is located. Luckily there's a lot in the back with available spots. Even better, there's a rear entrance to the restaurant, so you don't have to walk all the way around to the front. We let the hostess know our party and we got sat right away. Id say a group larger than 6 would be difficult to fit. Only noticed one large table. The music was pretty loud (banda) and there were a few tvs replaying sports (no captions). Our waiter was attentive but once the place filled up (around 7pm), check-ins were less frequent so took a while to get the check. Since it tis the season, we went with the grinch drink which had a tajin rim and made with soju. It tasted flat. I didnt even finish it wasnt particularly enjoyable. For food, we enjoyed: -Pancho villa roll -Rattlesnake roll I usually enjoy a good lemon roll. This one was pretty dense with the rice and I had to spit out two seeds. Id probably try the spot again, but I'll be mindful of what rolls I get since they ranged from $17 to $21 a roll. Updating my review because the environment is completely different from when I went in the first time. To start off none of the employees are the same as the first time I went (first red flag). I was not greeted upon entrance because there were no employees in the front. I wonder why they can't hold on to people (probably not a healthy work environment to work at). Second of all, I went to this location with a friend who has a dangerous allergy to nuts. When we asked if the sesame seed dressing on the salad in her bento box had any nuts, our server didn't know and had to find someone for answers. This clearly shows lack of training. Floor manager is now one of their old chefs who clearly struggles to remain professional. On my visit, I also saw the owner, Raul bad mouthing a couple of girls that when in. Literally talking crap behind their back with one of his friends at the bar, once they left. Almost as if they don't want their business. The service made things worse our waiter was unfriendly, barely checked on us, and had a noticeable attitude the entire time. It felt like we were an inconvenience. The drinks were also a letdown. The soda cups were plastic and left a weird aftertaste, like they weren't properly cleaned. The mixed drinks were just as bad poorly made and lacking any real flavor or balance. Also, it's strange and frustrating that the menu doesn't clearly list prices. That alone feels misleading. Overall not worth your money. Was excited to see a new sushi spot in San Fernando and it's in a great location with metered street parking on the main road or parking in the lot behind. We were quickly seated, the layout is very similar to Truman house next door. They have a good size menu with apps, rolls, hand rolls, nigiri, noodles, and drinks! We started off with a Moscow mule, tequila soda, and spicy garlic edamame, then ordered some crunch rolls and hand rolls. You could tell it is a newer place because the staff didn't seem entirely up to speed on the menu and the iPad system, but they were very attentive and check in with us a lot during our stay. Upon arriving we weren't greeted or directed to a table. It was a little awkward lol so we decided to sit ourselves down. I noticed that the restaurant had a dark ambience feel to it with loud music. They have so many items on the menu it was a little hard to choose at first but we ended up ordering the bento box 2 items w/ chicken teriyaki & tuna roll. The chicken teriyaki along with the rice and salad were great but the tuna rolls were horrible unfortunately. No flavor at all. Tempura salmon was my favorite roll. The salmon on top was fried to perfection and the spicy mayo eel sauce was spectacular! The Razo roll was a more spicy than anything else. I couldn't taste any sauce that was drizzled it was all just jalapeño. :/ The menu didn't have any list of regular drinks just alcoholic ones, our waitress didn't offer us any regular drinks either. We actually ordered the Mexican candy drink, a lemonade, and a Diet Coke. But she didn't bring us the alcoholic drink just the other two. Just seemed like she wasn't paying much attention. The service was subpar they weren't attentive. Had to flag down two different waiters. We got the bento box first then 12 mins later we got the two rolls by that time I was already done with the box. But today, the waiter piped up a Lava cake so we ordered it. 20 minutes later it never came so then we just asked for the check and they added the almost $13 Lava cake. 10 minutes after they figured out what they were gonna do with my bill I paid. 30 minutes of my time, wasted on something they had offered, but never had. Food is fine no big complaints I don't really think it's always the freshest but it's good. The service on the other hand, a lot of customer service training is needed most times waitresses take a very long time to take order bring drinks follow up if we needed anything. We go here for the convenience of it being in downtown SF and we like staying in the community but it needs a lot of work with the ambiance and waitress attention to customer service will go a long way. My girls and son love sushi but also love getting the bento box with 2 items of teriyaki chicken and 6 pcs Cali roll w/miso soup and gyoza .
