Magical Dining 2024 Review (here we go)! Ah, Rosen Shingle Creek. An expansive hotel that has been around for roughly 18 years and yet, I've never eaten at A Land Remembered. Well, after plans had been struck, I showed up promptly on a Monday evening for my magical dining experience. Upon arriving at Valet, it took awhile for the valet staff to greet me which happens occasionally. Nevertheless, they took my car and gave me incorrect directions to the restaurant . Side note, it is not inside the hotel necessarily. From valet there is a sidewalk adjacent to the building that takes you directly to the front entrance of the restaurant which is a few yards from the valet. Upon arriving my guest was already on site. We waited a few moments then were promptly seated. However, the waitress attempted to seat us in the bar area which I politely asked to be changed to the dining room. The bar area was somewhat noisy which a convention going on at the hotel. Nevertheless, we were then seated in the dining room but at a six top table and there were only 2 of us. Ok... The server welcomed us and brought waters to our table. After reviewing the wine list, I went for one I haven't yet tried (Honig). It was quite good and started the evening off. We were given a bread basket with the iconic alligator shaped butter. The bread was good. I enjoyed the croissant and the other bread that had bits of bacon in it. After reviewing the menu in full, we decided to go with the Scallops and Lamb Chops to start followed by the Tuna and Prime Rib with finally the cheesecake and chocolate cake. The appetizers were good with the lamb chops having a good flavor on the meat. The scallops were great (hard for them not to be) but they were lukewarm and could tell to have been sitting. The mains came out after awhile and the prime rib is a heavy portion. I think 20 ounces. It's standard prime rib IMO with thoughts of the holiday season in my mind. I had hoped instead of a 20 ounce prime rib they could also offer a much smaller filet . The tuna was a large portion and had good taste. Both dishes felt good but weren't overly impressive IMO. The desserts were funky with the chocolate cake having layers of fudge and the cheesecake being a banana flavor (Ok). At a steakhouse, I typically like a standard cheesecake but this was different and ok to try. Also every portion size was generous except the scallops. All in the all, this was a great magical dining venue. I don't think I'd opt to pay standard price though and rather head down the road to alternate venues. Our server was helpful! From the moment we walked into the restaurant until the time we left, the drinks, food and service was incredible!!! We ordered double smoked old fashions and I changed the bourbon portion to Angels Envy and my husband kept his as is and both versions were delicious!! I have to be gluten free and our waiter Howie had the manager come to our table to go over the gluten free options, of which there were many. For appetizers I had the Burrata and my husband had the steakhouse wedge. We shared the bacon and had gluten free rolls too! For our entrees I had the half rack of the Australian lamb and my husband had the prime rib. For dessert we had chocolate cake and icecream! The food was prepared so beautifully and tasted incredible!! Then, upon leaving I said to Christie, the hostess, how I wished this restaurant was near where I live so I could celebrate my birthday there in addition to going often. With that, she brought me a balloon and complimentary piece of cake when she found out my birthday is next week and this was so unexpected. Service by George was impressive. He handled me as a single diner as well as a large table of individuals very well. The bread is amazing, the salad fine, and a very nice cut of steak. I like medium rare: it was pink in center but not juicy so fine. Mushrooms are quite interesting and worth trying. I wish I had left room for dessert as I am sure those are exceptional. One of the best steak restaurant we've ever been. Food are amazing, we all love the bread, soft and fresh. We ordered grilled octopus with sweet potatoes and tomatoes for our appetizers which was delightful, although the lobster bisque we ordered not so much, it could have been better. For our main meal we got the bone-in rib eye and lamp chops which are cooked perfectly the we want it, and for our dessert we got the banana caramel cheesecake - so yummy! Our server Steven is very nice and funny, he makes our dining more fun and memorable. This place is good for a date night or dinner gathering with family or friends. The prime rib was amazing, and the lobster mac and cheese was my favorite side. All of the food was delicious, one item had to be sent back and was brought out perfect with no issues. Magical Dining 2022 came around, and I got to work. I ranked every single available menu, and I settled on being able to go to my top three restaurants this year. A Land Remembered made the cut. Usually, these fancy places offer a boring roast chicken or a nice baked salmon, yawn. But this year, A Land really offered nice offerings. Apps Wagyu Beef Carpaccio (Pickled Mustard, Black Garlic Shoyu, Radish, Cured Yolk, Baby Greens, Grilled Bread). Banging. The beef was so flavorful, and then every little topping added a little of their own flavoring to it. Collect it all and place it on top of a hunk of bread charred to perfection. Nice. Colorado Lamb Ribs (Za'atar Rub, Onion-Tomato Jam, Yogurt). As good as the carpaccio was, this was much, much better. These lamb ribs were unlike anything I've ever had. So soft and tender and lamb-like. To be dippable in that sweet tomato jam and that cooling yogurt. Just a great little dish. This is the dish that earned this place the five stars. Honestly. Mains Prime New York Strip (Mashed Potato, Frog Song Organics Carrot & Onion, Chimichurri). I had the steak. It was good. A smooth mash, and some nice carrots, but it was just lacking, and it was overcooked. I don't know. Just maybe get something else other than the steak. HertaBerkSchwein Farms Pork Chop (Sweet Potato Mash, Stone Fruit Butter, Andouille Spoon Bread Dressing, Pan Drippings). Like this pork chop. Cooked Perfectly. Justtt well done. Very moist, very thick. I liked it a lot. Pork chop always go well with sweet, and the stone fruit butter and the sweet potato mash were the perfect pairing with this amazing pork. Desserts Caramel Banana Cheesecake (Vanilla Wafer Crust, Salted Caramel Sauce, Caramel Crispearls). I didn't think I would like this, because I hate bananas, but the banana flavor was tapered. And the caramel sauce was just so strong. It was quite nice, and the texture from the pearls was welcome. Chocolate Gianduja Mousse Cake (Chocolate Crémeux, Pecan Nougatine, Chambord Ganache). This was fine. I desserts are not the strong suit here, but you'll enjoy whatever you order, I'm sure. Overall, a four star experience from a very good restaurant. But I'm so glad that I found those ribs. They really left an impression on me. read more

We went here for our Anniversary and had a pretty decent time. Parking was ample and close to the restaurant, so you didn't have to walk through the hotel to get there. Our scallop appetizer was delicious, but the mushrooms they added to the plate were large and chewy. We felt they were not needed. The buratta tomato salad was okay, but the tomatoes were out of season and very hard. Also, it needed more balsamic as they only added just a drizzle. My Chilean Sea Bass was cooked to perfection, but the lemon sauce was too sour. The potatoes were delicious, but the brussel sprouts were too hard and under cooked. My husband's steak was ordered medium, but came out rare. The server and Manager were both super friendly and gave us two desserts on the house. They were the STARS! Their Banana cheesecake was the best! Their Chocolate cake was so good too. The desserts saved the meal. We are glad we tried this restaurant but won't be going back. read more

Craving a good steak, locals recommended ALR! This restaurant is inside of a country club so the bathroom is a locker room complete either showers and hair dryers. March Madness playoffs were on in the bar area and the bar was packed with young golfers and guests. Our server Cloud was kind, thorough, and patient, the food was decent, but the ceiling lighting was awful. We were in a corner booth that came with an overhead light akin to the brightness of an operating room. Also, the seating is so setback that it took some effort to get comfortable with thinly padded booths and zero back support. If I were going to make any suggestions, it would be to redo all of their booth seating. Also, the wine list was heavy on California choices. I would've liked to see a more local selection, with at least one or two pairings. read more

We stay at the Gaylord every year and always find time for a meal at A Land Remembered. It's fun to dress up and walk over from the hotel. The food is always very good as is the wine... They have a very comprehensive menu, something for everyone. A little known fact, they also serve lunch, but I believe they call the restaurant something else during the day. Went for Magical Dining. It was my first time there and it did not disappoint. From the moment we walked in we were greeted by the hostess. Her name was Christie and she was the absolute sweetest. Our reservation was at 7 but we weren't seated until 715. Our server was also great! She offered her recommendations and shared that their Magic Dining dishes are full size! They have great cocktails. Sadly I don't remember the name of the drinks that we got, but they were fantastic! I ordered the scallops, prime rib, and banana cheesecake. Everything was 10 out of 10. 4 stars is because service after our appetizers was extremely slow. We totally understood and know that this happens sometimes. We asked for our desserts to go and between paying our bills and getting our desserts, it was about 25 minutes. All and all I am so glad we tried them and would go back in a heartbeat! read more

I have been twice and the picture shown is of the chocolate mousse cake that we ordered as dessert. The bread, lobster bisque, Cesar salad, and the grand tomahawk steak for two, was amazing. I have been wanting to try this place forever during magical dining but was never able to make it. I attended a birthday dinner and was finally able to give this place a try. It was a 10/10 experience for me! For my drink I had a strawberry lemon drop and I substituted the vodka for tequila. It was so good I had to order another one! For dinner I was stuck between the short rib and bone in rib eye. I ended up going with the steak and I was not disappointed. Someone in our party got the short rib and was raving how good it was so I'd definitely have to get that next time! I ordered mash potatoes which were good as well. I wanted to order the gator drool beer braised greens but I was nervous but someone in our party ordered them and they were really good! They are a little on the sweeter side (which the waiter did warn me about) so if sweet greens isn't your thing I wouldn't order them. The sweet potato mash was really good as well. Spectacular from the time we walked in to the time we left. I've been to 100 steakhouses in the Orlando area and this is by far my favorite for great food, amazing service as well as the ambiance!! Overall it's a good restaurant and I was very happy with the meal. Started with the scallops and they were really exceptional I mean it perfectly cooked wild mushroom and radish garnish. The sauce was good but quite mild. It did take 2 tries on the prime Rib. I ordered it medium rare, but at first they brought me a small piece and it was cooked on the grill to death either they gave me somebody else's that wanted a well-done prime rib or they substituted a New York strip possibly ? It almost looks like by accident any case, when I received my new prime rib 10 min later, it was perfectly medium rare, soft and tender. Obviously it was slow cooked and the lobster tail that accompanied it was cooked very well split in half and I enjoyed it. I asked for the asparagus to be less cooked as I like it firm. It came the complete opposite cooked to wrinkled ugly and way over cooked. I returned. I didn't ask for a substitute. I sat at the bar. The server asked me what he could do. I said I'll have a drop more of wine. I don't feel like I want to order another glass. He asked the manager and apparently the manager said no! I said that's something else after the delivery of the food. After I received my check, I came back from the restroom to find a drop of wine in the glass after I already finished my meal. I think the Bartender took it upon himself. He must have liked my tip lol. Nice guy doesn't have the clout to give you a drop of wine which is some tight controls there at a land remembered! I thanked him for a wonderful dinner. If you're staying at the Rosen for a business conference or other, it's a nice option for a very good meal without having to get an Uber to go somewhere but if you do feel like venturing out, there's lots of places in Orlando try Eddie V.'s one of my favorites. read more

Magical Dining at one of my faves - A Land Remembered! I love this place and the service. Christian was a gem of a server - friendly, attentive, educated on the menu and helpful. Everything was great. I don't ever eat carpaccio but the waygu was WOW and completely changed my mind for the future. Everyone loved the bisque but different if you prefer the super creamy sweeter she crab like version. My friend added a veggie side and said it was incredible. It was a large portion. You can upgrade to the filet (you have to ask). I got the NY Strip and it was excellent - and huge! The mashed potatoes were divine. The hubby loved his swordfish - it was more flaky and less steak-like which was nice. One of the filets came out cold - like it was cooked and refrigerated. Magical Dining annual event and we decided to give this place a try as the menu options looked great. The place was really nice, upscale but some people were dressed casually. We were seated on time during an early Saturday night. Since we already knew what we wanted to order we didn't need to wait too long, also most everyone was doing the Magical Dining menu. The appetizer of ceviche was very refreshing while my husband had lamb chops lollipops. We had a variety of bread with butter shaped in the form of an alligator. The prime rib was delicious. Do you ever go to a restaurant and feel like you literally just wasted $200 of your hard earned money? Like even after they try to fix your dinner they can't get it right? I'm honestly shocked this establishment is still open. Three out of four of us got cold steaks. Our medium filets we're over cooked and literally came out cold. Mashed potatoes is a TINY portion and drenched in oil. They took our steaks back and re-cooked new ones which took over 30 minutes. THEN brought out another over cooked fillet with no new sides so we had cold mashed potatoes to eat with our over cooked fillet. The only thing good here is the bread and the chocolate cake. It was a little loud when we we there because we came during a convention. They were very busy but they kept great service standard. They brought our food quickly and efficiently. My wife got the filet mignon which was cooked perfectly. She also got a butternut squash that she really enjoyed. I tried the squash and it tasted like ash in my mouth. I don't like it normally so we will have to trust my wife on it being good. I ordered the lobster Mac and cheese. It came and it was a quality Mac and cheese with big generous chunks of lobster in it. Lobster isn't my favorite but they did a good job with it. Quality dish. I ordered the ribeye steak. They over cooked my steak. It was medium instead of medium rare. It was a good quality steak at a prime aged steaks cost. It was not the quality that we paid for. The steak had good flavor except that they put a significant amount of lemon on it. The meat was too tough and it had a vein of cartilage in it. I imagine that I just got unlucky with my particular steak. However the steak I received was on par with a normal run of the mill steak house. read more

I attend this restaurant with my sorority as we had our conference at the Rosen Shingle Resort for the Second and Third time. This was my first time trying this restaurant at the resort. It was outside the resort on the corner. I believe this was one of their finer restaurants. The ambiance was a semi fine dining experience. Service was great and our server was good and attentive. I dined here during a work conference in Orlando. The staff and ambience were amazing! We had a pretty large group, but everything ran smoothly. I started with cabernet and had a variety of appetizers, including Wagyu Beef Carpaccio, Cape Canaveral White Shrimp, and Calamari. Next, I had a salad. I didn't care for it since it had bleu cheese. For my entree, I split my the steak and sea bass with a colleague. Both of these options were delicious and I highly recommend them. They were cooked perfectly. The steak comes with roasted garlic and the sea bass comes with roasted veggies (squash and zucchini). For the accompaniments, I thoroughly enjoyed the creamed spinach, mashed potatoes, and asparagus. The night ended with dessert, which included the Key Lime Brulee Bar & the Banana Caramel Cheesecake. I don't like to over amplify how good a restaurant is because everyone has different taste buds, but when I say this is the best restaurant I've ever been too I genuinely mean it. It's located on a resort, and if you don't wonder around the hotel or ask questions you might end up missing it. But after you stroll down this outdoor pathway you finally arrive at the front door. You are greeted by a nice hostess, and immediately notice all of the golf tropes the restaurant embodies, as it is right on the course. You are then sat in this very nice, sleek wooden room with an outside view of the course. Most tables give you the seclusion you need at a higher end restaurant, and if you have a large party they have tables to accommodate that as well. The first time we went here we had the pleasure of being served by a waiter named Howie (who we still ask for till this day). He gave us a run-down on the establishment and what to expect from their menu and courses. My family and I ended up trying most of everything on the menu. You are first served some complimentary bread with some cool looking alligator butter. Don't worry it's not made of alligator, however, the butter is shaped like one. We all had a different salad from burrata to wedge; my father actually had some French onion soup instead which he loved. I am not one to brag about salad, but...holy crap. I actually look forward to my salad before my meal when coming here. We then enjoyed a nice tomahawk steak, which I split with someone. Perfectly cooked with a nice seasoned crust. Juicy and tender, everything you'd want in a steak. As if that wasn't enough for us to be happy about the mash potatoes could make a grown man cry. Not kidding I'm pretty sure my pops was shedding tears eating it. Then to end an amazing night we were complimented with a delicious desert, a caramel cheesecake of some sort, that was gone within seconds. If you are a cigar enthusiast like my pops and I you'll find it quite pleasant they will also serve you cigars with a cutter and matches to end your night. Every time we come to Orlando we come here. We were seated by the window next to the golf course and enjoyed the charm, ambiance, and views of this restaurant, as its attached to the beautiful rosen shingle creek hotel. For appetizers we started with the crab cake and the scallops. These are the best scallops we have ever had ( and we eat a lot of diver scallops). Tender and seared to perfection with sweet corn glaze and crispy bacon. For dinner i had the bass and my husband got the rib eye. My bass was perfectly cooked, tender, and fresh. For desert we had the bread pudding which was a soft creamy decadent pudding paired the softest ice cream. The service was 10/10 Richard and Hannah (server) were attentive, kind, and helpful. A Land Remembered is a top tier steak house located within the Rosen at Single Creek Resort, one that completely lives up to expectations. Right at the start of your visit this restaurant will stand out, the ambience and decor is sophisticated but not too stuffy. The staff cordially greet you and attend to you right away. Our waitress was incredibly knowledgeable, she gave us recommendations on every part of our meal and what to expect for each dish. Not only was she well informed, but she was also very personable and welcoming, which really added to the experience! The food itself was absolutely incredible! Literally everything tasted delicious. I ordered the Lobster Bisque (amazing!) and the American Wagyu. We also tried the Crab Cake and various sides like the Creamed Spinach and Grilled Asparagus. Needlness to say, it was all fantastic. For dessert we split a Strawberry Shortcake, which was so good we were clamoring over the last bite. As an upscale restaurant, A Land Remembered is pricey. I took my wife to A Land Remembered for Valentine's Day! The service we received was great. From the check in to paying the bill. We started at the bar since we were early for dinner. Maria was great! I had a nice double old fashion. We have a nice conversation before being taken to our seat. Our server Hanna was amazing. She checked on us regularly. She was very tentative. It was busy and she stayed on top of everything. The good was decent. The scallops and spinach was my favorite. We ordered a tomahawk for two medium with black garlic butter and blue cheese. Additionally we added bone marrow as an enhancement. Our steak was well done and bone marrow was not fully cooked. Richard the manager came over to discuss the steak and bone marrow. We opted not to have the steak recooked only because it still had good flavor. I'm not a fan of wasting food. The bone marrow I wanted placed back in oven to cook longer. A land remembered will definitely be remembered! The food, customer service, ambiance and cleanliness was definitely recognized! We started off with the table bread, which I will say is nothing like normal table bread - IT WAS CROSSIANTS (My favorite) ! P.S. the alligator butter made it even better! Then we followed up with the smoked glazed bacon appetizer which was amazing, nothing was left on the plate after that. Magical Dining... WOW! I was blown away by everything. The food, the service, and the atmosphere. We got the best table in the restaurant, the only round table in a corner surrounded by windows. There was a surprise fireworks display right out our window (it happened to be a gender reveal display for Mr. Rosen's daughter). Our bartender named Cloud, made great cocktails, and our server Jeanette was engaging and gave us top notch service. Stephen was also wonderful.
