YUM! The staff is so down to earth and the owner Tripp is one cool dude. They are definitely worth the trip, we drove all the way from SGV for a second round at Common Space Brewery in Hawthorne, let me tell you.. I don't drink, I went just for a Tripp Burger, I couldn't wait to taste the burger again. They'll definitely be seeing our faces more often now

It's a simple menu, with a choice of a la carte cheeseburger or fried-onion burger (choice of 1 - 4 patties), with chips (+2) as the only side option. The burgers are the normal burger size, with each beef patty ball (before being smashed) being 1/8 lb. There is a small condiment section with ketchup, mustard, dill pickles, and diced onions. After paying, you are given a pager. The food was prepared fresh and was ready in about 10 minutes. I tried the double fried-onion cheeseburger ($15.25). It was a good smashburger, using a good blend of beef and bacon, properly crisped around the edges. Getting the single would not have been enough beef, so glad I got the double. The fried onions did add the bitter sweetness, again confirming that getting grilled whole onions (for free) at In-n-out is the way to go. It would be hard to pay these prices for such little food, so definitely appropriate at breweries where alcohol tends to blur the line between value and 'i'm so hungry i'll pay anything'.

If you've been to a popular BBQ place in the South, you're no stranger to the lines. I've been to APL at two pop-up locations: Ayara Thai in Westchester & Gin Rummy in MDR/Venice. The latter (and current) location, Gin Rummy, has seating, so it's a better experience. Ayara is a Michelin-listed Thai place, but Chef Adam was serving out of the back & there was no seating. So far, Ive tried the burnt ends (9/10), beef ribs (9/10), lamb chops (9/10), and pork ribs (7.5/10). To put this in perspective, I would not score any of these items anywhere else in L.A. higher than a 7/10. Yes, some of the sauce can be overly-sweet, but the craftsmanship that goes into smoking the meat is unparalleled in L.A. And, yes- I have a charcoal smoker at home and make decent brisket and ribs. As other reviewers have mentioned, prices are high, portions are large, and there's almost always a wait, so best to go with a party of 4 or larger so that you can sample more of the menu. And, they should add one more order kiosk and add one more person to cut the meat in order to move the line quicker. I could eat this BBQ every week. Bon Appétit!

Highly recommend. We'll definitely be back.

The first time was for a shoe and bra fitting and that's when I found out there are weekly events hosted at the Pop-Up as well! Of course, I've been going back every single week, sometimes twice a week! Before I get into the events, let me just say that the space is incredible. There are three levels; the first of which has a variety of clothes/apparel and Brooks shoes. This is also where the shoe fitting takes place. The second story is where the bra fitting takes place, there's also a great seating area that I really just want to sit at all day and hang out. The third level is full of magic and you'll just have to experience it for yourself. Oh, and let me touch on the service... It's great! Of note, Steven, Natasha, and Juan have helped me on more than one occasion and greet me when I come into the store for events. They're so friendly and welcoming! Ok - the events. There is a weekly Brooks Run Club that meets on Tuesday evenings at 6pm and run around three miles or so. It's a great route created and led by Brad and Magena who are here in Los Angeles from Brooks HQ in Seattle! There's more magic that takes place after the Run Club that you'll again have to experience for yourself. There are also some events on Saturdays/Sundays including breathwork, yoga, jump-roping with a Grand World Champion jump-roper!, some conversations with amazing advocates, and even some runs hosted by Brooks Run Happy Team ambassadors. Get to Google "Brooks Venice Pop-Up," check the event schedule, and sign up today! Truly, the only bad part about the Brooks Running - Venice Pop-Up is that it is only going to be on Abbott Kinney until the end of October 2023. So, do yourself a favor and get yourself over to Brooks today!!!

Don't skip the fries. They're some of the best things I've eaten. I dream about those fries. The Peruvian scallops are dreamy. Very light, very refreshing. The same can be said about the cucumber salad. The standout of the evening was by far the burger. I've been to Dudley Market a handful of times, and I'd yet to try it. I'm so glad that I did. It was probably one of the best burgers I've ever had before. I highly recommend ordering this. The restaurant is tucked away from the boardwalk but it's pretty lively inside and maybe during the warmer months they spill out into the street.

It swings from Vietnamese small plates to a straightforward steak, and the range never settles into a point of view -- it reads less like a confident eclectic kitchen than a grab bag. The fried red snapper was the standout: crisp, well-cooked, good enough to stand on its own. It came with a fish sauce for dipping that it didn't need -- a wedge of lemon on the side would have suited it far better. The Vietnamese crab cake was a real miss; I couldn't get past it. The dumplings were fine but forgettable. Service ran to extremes. Our server was warm and eager, almost too eager -- he pushed a bottle of wine we weren't sold on, and we ordered it anyway. Then, after all that attentiveness, he disappeared toward the end of the meal and never came back. The wine list was fine, nothing memorable. There's real skill in that kitchen -- the snapper proves it -- but the meal never added up to more than its parts. I left full, not delighted.

Husband and wife team, Fred & Nyesha, are personable and great people! Now, here's are my favorites: pork ribs, brisket and OMG! The Beef Rib is AMAZING when it's available! (I think the beef rib is most available on weekends but I keep hope alive during the week. You might get lucky. LOL). Tender meats and never dry. The rub they use (Fred's own recipe) is perfect. I always get my bbq sauce on the side because I don't like my meats drenched or swimming in sauce. The sauce is their own and it's good too but the thing for me with BBQ is when it's REALLY good, you don't need any sauce. This BBQ is THAT BBQ if you feel me. lol. My favorite sides are the greens, beans and Mac and cheese. Oh yeah! And the peach cobbler is a TASTY treat! All homemade delectables! Also, their daughter's Hibiscus Punch is good too! The only drawback is when you are fiendin' like an addict for their food, you have to wait until one of their business days to get it. lol. They are in different locations during the week (but the upside is that they are regularly at their weekly locations - UCLA, Westchester, and USC and usually a Saturday in View Park). But they are only at the locations from 12 noon to 2pm (lunch). Makes me crazy when I forget the day that's most convenient for me or I get busy and not gonna get there in time. Saturday hours are a little longer (till 4pm OR until they run out). Check them out on their IG page @RibsinLA for their schedule. My dream for them is to have a Brick and Mortar store so I can get it anytime the mood of my tastebuds hit me! Try it. You will not be disappointed. Ribs in LA is a Chef's Kiss!

Now if I was reviewing for tonight's meal I would give 1 star. I am confused and upset about how my order could've gone so wrong and how sad and abysmal the burger looks. Normally the burger has lots of delicious shredded lettuce, and tomato's and I pay extra for sliced fresh avocado and jalapeños and opt for fresh onions. Tonight's burger arrived with a dab of some old looking guacamole, half a thin slice of tomato, a shred of an onion and three jalapeños. No lettuce. I wish I was joking. Pluuuus, the fries were super salty. Thank goodness for DoorDash's option to refund for the burger itself but I am still fairly upset I spent $35 (!) on meal that I honestly am debating even eating because the burger is not appetizing looking and I am sooo bummed.
