I live a block away from a mano, so when I saw there was a new development opening near my apartment, I was ecstatic. I've always thought there was a restaurant/bar void in between Ponce City Market and Inman Park, and I was hoping a mano was going to be the answer to my prayer. Guess my prayers were left on read like an uncomfortable text. Two friends and I attempted to grab a late dinner last Friday night around 9 pm; after being open for two weeks, I had assumed the restaurant worked out any service kinks and was running like a well oiled machine. We attempted to put our name in with the hostess, and the hostess immediately let out an exasperated sigh. She informed us that she had no idea of how long it would take to seat the three of us for dinner, because there were several people ahead of us. When asked how long she estimated, she said it would take about 30 to 45 minutes, and she would text us when a table was ready. The red flag factory started production when she wrote our phone number on a sticky note (A STICKY NOTE) and place it among a graveyard of other (unorganized) sticky notes. I immediately knew we were not getting anywhere with her inability to manage a normal level of stress. We told her we would wait for her text, even though we knew it would never come. Just for kicks, I called back immediately after we left and inquired as to how long the wait for a party of three would be. She didn't recognize my voice, obviously, let out the same exasperated sigh and said, "I honestly couldn't even tell you. If I HAD to guess, I would say an hour and a half." So the wait time doubled one minute after we left? I think not. I can't give a review of the food, but maybe that review will follow once this restaurant gets its ducks in a row from a service perspective. Oh yeah, that status text never came. Went last night with a friend. We had reservations and were seated immediately. We ate grilled flat bread, Mussels Picatta, Cacio E Pepe and Fusilli with diver scallops. All were DELICIOUS and memorable!! Would eat all again and again. For drinks, try the Fiore. My only regret is I was too full for dessert . Fusilli was so good, I ordered one to go. read more

Took the family last night. The food & staff were fantastic. Made last minute change to reservation and they were organized and accommodating. We were seated immediately and the waiter was patient in describing all dishes. I was surprised at how fast the food was served and it was piping hot. Hubby said the tagliatelle alla bolognese is the best he ever had - included a nice dollop of ricotta. My Italian MIL & daughter had the scallops & pasta in a creamy sauce which was countered with a vinegary rainbow chard. Superb. I had the carrot ravioli - really good and will get that again. What you should know: the food in the Primi section is a small meal - need to get a salad or appetizer with it. Also - highly recommend the roasted cauliflower. read more

I've never had a bad meal here and if anything was ever wrong with the meal, it was fixed. The skillet bread is really good. it seems like the portion size has been reduced which is a bummer because I could literally eat that bread all day long. Like seriously, all day long!! The burrata is pretty good as well, but it doesn't compare to my skillet bread. As for entrees, I've had the bolognese, the fusilli, the cacio, and the carbonara (with modifications). I also tried the fried potatoes which were surprisingly good. All of the flavors worked well together. I think that the bolognese has to be my favorite here. It's consistently good. It hits the mark each time. The bread pudding is also very good. I usually take this to-go as I'm stuffed with pasta and bread. Parking is a pain in the butt as their parking lot is tiny. You are usually better off parking on the street. My only complaint about this place is that the cocktails are not always consistent. They make beautiful cocktails and the strawberry basil has been one of my favs. They also make one with ginger which is good too. I miss the female bartender who used to be there as she knew everyone. The last time I went was in the latter part of last year and the bartenders were okay. They weren't as friendly which took away from the experience and hence why I haven't been back. The combination of running out of skillet bread, the small portion of bread, the bartenders, and the drinks being just okay, made me slow down on going. My friend and I were there every few weeks because we really enjoyed the feel of it all. I do like George and honestly I would go back because of him. It seems like hos staff really like him and I can see why. He's such a good guy and I love supporting him. So I'll be back soon! read more

The food is pretty good, but any enjoyment I experienced from the meal was erased by the remarkably bad service. Once seated, we waited nearly 15min for our waiter to come to the table to take our order. After we finished, we waited another 10+ minutes to receive our check. We than waited another 30+ minutes while the staff struggled with their payment system. All the while, our water glasses sat empty and we were never offered any sort of compensation for the inconvenience. I was excited to have a new restaurant in the neighborhood, but I don't know that I'll come back any time soon. read more

One of the best meals I have ever had. The staff at a mano was attentive and helpful. The chef is incredibly creative. I found the menu to be the perfect combination of the familiar and the interesting. And the drinks were fantastic. All around an excellent experience and I would recommend a mano highly. read more

Unfortunately dining here was a disappointment. We made reservations over a month ago because tonight was the next time an indoor table reservation was available. The seating options for Covid were well done and very cute, however, for our "indoor" reservation we were seated in a covered bar area next to the actual indoor seating at high tables with stools which were very uncomfortable. The food was pretty good, but unfortunately 4 menu items were sold out which was only mentioned by the waiter when we tried to order 2 of them. After we ordered we never saw our waiter again, we ran out of water and I wanted to order a second drink but we got neither. I understand Covid changes service, but we watched tables inside get refills. Lastly, we had issues with the "contactless payment" but the operations manager who was very kind came and spoke with us and hopefully rectified triple charges. Overall, good food but even with Covid restrictions service was lacking. read more

Tried it out last night - and it was Ah-Mazing. You need a reservation as I'd call the seating situation "intimate". Parking is sparse but you can always snag a spot on the street. The food...oh, the food. We had the burrata and octopus for apps then 4 of us went family style on 4 pastas + trout + fried potatoes. Everything was handmade deliciousness and portions were a good size. I personally loved the carbonara. Great cocktail menu and delicious lavender soda for the non-alcoholic (or pregnant) guests. We had been wanting to try this place and stopped in on a whim on a Friday night. We got lucky and were able to get two of the stools on the patio. My boyfriend and I shared two of the pasta dishes and were very impressed. The Fusilli and the Cacio e Pepe were both cooked simply and perfectly. The service was amazing as well. This restaurant is a hidden gem, not much to look at from the outside but inside it's warm and well designed. I visited on a Tuesday night and it was packed with neighborhood guests. The staff was friendly and service very good. The cocktail we ordered was very good and food excellent. They were also able to provide vegetarian options but could use more. Was very sad to see that the Grilled Flatbread wasn't on the menu but was impressed with what we ordered. The carbonara and the bucatini alla bolognese were on point. The portion servings are perfect, not to big and not to small. The salsa verde aioli on the fried potatoes was so delicious I asked for more of it. Couldn't decide on which dessert to order so we grabbed both and were not disappointed. The prices were also very respectable - for 4 glasses of wine, two pasta dishes, one side and two desserts - $89. Not bad a mano! Great addition to O4W! read more

It was our first time and what an amazing experience! Our server Laura was the epitome of customer service. Between her and the gentleman that served our drinks and brought them to our table, they helped make us feel welcome and comfortable. Laura was patient and kind enough to explain the night's specials. My girlfriend and I ordered the chargrilled octopus appetizer to start and it was delicious. We then order the fusilli and the Bucatini Bolognese pasta dishes and all were delicious - we cleaned them all off! To finish, she also explained the desserts and also the "Digestif" section which was something innovative and new to a mano's menu and my girlfriend and I were both impressed, but chose to skip dessert for we were both happily full. The best part? Closing time was approaching and although the restaurant had about 15 minutes left to closing time, we did not feel pushed nor obligated to leave. Our inaugural visit to George's new place was stellar in every respect. The staff's service and attention to detail is outstanding. As is the food - the menu offers a broad and intriguing assortment of dishes. This is a quaint Italian spot at the corner of Ralph McGill and Glen Iris. I do recommend sitting outside if the weather is nice. My only complaint about the restaurant is that it is too noisy inside like a lot of new, industrial style restaurants. There is nothing to absorb the sound. The dishes I recommend include the burrata and seafood fusilli. They are both like butter in your mouth and very fresh ingredients. Paired with the Rose on tap makes for a delicious dinner in the hood. Also reasonably priced and good service. read more

Great restaurant with a very nice atmosphere. We sat on the deck - lovely! Only reason I graded a 4 and not a 5 star was because I ordered chargrilled octopus and wished I hadn't ordered it chargrilled. Probably would have been better grilled or sautéed. Best part of the night was when the owner, George, came up to talk to us. He was so personable and so genuinely interested in us. He too is very interesting - a Georgia Tech Engineering grad - who loves running the restaurant. Great low key neighborhood location and vibe. Food is excellent. But the service and overall dining experience is lacking. I've visited four times, all with reservations for two people. Every time, we've been seated in the bar area, which is super noisy and not a true "dining" experience. Why make a reservation?! Additionally, I've placed orders for drinks that never come and we just end up leaving. Based on our experience, I'm not sure how a mano has 4.5 stars. We made reservation yet were seated in the bar area which didn't have dedicated table service. The bartender visited us maybe 4 times total- and never to ask us how our food was. And if he had asked , we would've said "disappointing." The pasta didn't taste fresh and the sauces were heavy and not well balanced. The saddest part was the price point-- two drinks, an appetizer and two pasta dishes for $70. At that price, I would've much rather spent my money (and calories) on one of the many other amazing Italian restaurants in the area. read more

We had attentive service and it is nice to have another restaurant in this section of O4W. It is a very affordable dinner we had all that food and bottle of wine for $100. However, the restaurant is SO LOUD. My husband and I were screaming at each other and still could barely hear. The space is intimate and cute, but totally negated by the fact that I had to yell to be heard. With a better option for pasta just up the street, we will probably not be back to a mano. read more
