We just had some keys made but walked right up and was done in five minutes, everything went well

Do not call these guys if you're locked out of your home. They are not trained locksmiths. The pictures on their website of what looks like locksmithing tools are just pulled from the internet. It's a guy with a drill and a hammer and a lot of chutzpah. I called because they were close. The guy shows up and says "it'll be $200 plus $50 emergency response fee." I said, "It's not an emergency." He says, "Well, I got here in 15 minutes." It just got worse from there. I asked him to leave. He would not leave. He wore me out and I agreed on a price. Then he just took a crowbar to my door and used a common drill to destroy the lock to open the door. Unbelievable. Then I'm on the hook for a new lock. He begged me to leave a good review. Said he "gave me a deal" in exchange for a good review. Gotta be honest, folks. read more

Very responsive. They have a booth on Robertson and Cashio that can duplicate keys which they do quickly and you can drive through without leaving your car. Super convenient. Used them to change a couple of locks. Got there in 15 mins. Finished the job. Good folks to use. read more

The service agent who came out to helps was very flexible on what time he could come. If you're locked out late at night he will come through! If you're going to Get multiple locks changed here are a few tips to get an accurate quote: - Count the number of locks you need to change - how many are a deadbolt lock? Or a regular lock? Having this answer ahead of time will help you get an accurate estimate. Overall, easy to work with and helpful. read more

I contacted Nir to have someone sent to our home to fix some issues with 2 interior doors and 1 exterior. Nir said he could get a guy to come out immediately the same day; so he dispatched Myles to address our concerns. Truth be told Myles didn't notify me beforehand that he was going to be late but Nir was on him and made sure Myles was going to leave us happy customers. Full disclosure, the job done wasn't done perfectly but let me tell you why I'm giving 5 stars. We live in a 100 year old house with 100 year old problems. It's hard enough to get skilled help let alone anyone to come to our house to fix its problems. I worked in the back-office for general contractors for over a decade so I know what is reasonable. Myles, despite all of his faults, was extremely diligent and came through with what we needed to be done. He is a good listener and was very open-minded while being focused at solving problems. We didn't get the best possible solution but what's important is that we got solutions. We are now able to use doors that were unable to be opened before. Additionally, Myles is very aesthetically oriented and selected good colors and positioned hardware very well. I was impressed with this attention to detail. We ended up spending quite a bit but I was very happy with both Myles/Nir and how they handled negotiations. They are both very value oriented and we definitely got it considering the amount of time, effort and struggle we all faced. It was "pear-fect!" I also had a couple of keys copied at the other location and was able to dump a big bag of old keys for recycling. Thanks for eliminating all my lock and key problems! read more

I am super thankful for the guys at A+ Security Lock and Key! The back story: I had 3.5 hours to install an art show in Long Beach. Went home to get read after picking up artwork and my lock completely broke but stayed in the lock position! I had no way of getting in because I had a special iron wrought door. Found A+ Security and Nir was extremely helpful and prompt. He gave a call to one of his locksmiths who is in the area and Michael was at my house in less than 10 minutes and then fixed my complicated problem in less than 20 minutes. They also take card so I didn't have to rush to an ATM to pull out cash. Needless to say, I made it to Long Beach, installed the show in time for the art show reception. I know some people think that back stories are irrelevant but I wanted to show how frantic my situation was and Nir and Michael were able to put me at ease, communicated easily with each other and worked efficiently to get me in my house but providing a new solid lock on my door. I appreciated the fine quality work and considerate service from the locksmith. Front door deadbolt lock was failing. Locksmith first called to confirm address and arrival time. I did not have to wait long. He carefully listened to my concerns, then explained what he thought needed to be done after examining the lock and checking how it had been previously installed, before doing anything. Final decision was to change both locks. The new locks are better quality than what was there before. I am happy to have more reliable, safer locks. read more

I Highly Recommend this lock smith location! I was deciding whether to go to the dealer to get my key re-done but the dealerships were a long commute for me. So I searched for a nearby locksmith and called this place right away and Nir was able to answer my questions and quotes on the pricings. I drove right away to this place and Nir was on duty to help. Look elsewhere. This business takes advantage of elderly women! My mother who doesn't use Yelp came here since this locksmith is within a couple blocks from her to have her sticky lock fixed. She paid the $100 service call to have the locksmith walk less than 2 blocks, I get it this is fine, he had to leave his workplace. Instead of fixing the lock cylinder as requested, he rekeyed it, and gave her 2 new keys. When she stated that this was now a different key than her other locks, he said it didn't matter and that having an extra key was no big deal. If she wanted it changed again to what it should originally have been, she would have to pay another $65 service call for his mistake! These guys messed up and didn't do the right thing even after asked again. Resolution: I walked my mom though taking the cylinder off over the phone... All you need is a screwdriver, then had her take it to Lowe's to rekey it properly for $10 bucks! read more

Services needed: keys made for 3 locks on back unit and copy of front unit's 2 keys. Cost $426 Locksmith re-keyed front unit and only provided 2 keys because he said he had no way to make additional copies. I had to go elsewhere to make copies of the key he made. Locksmith was punctual, reliable and fast but cost was excessive. And yes, the invoice said A+ Lock and Key and Nir handled my service call. read more

BEWARE BEWARE!!! Very manipulative service! They appear quickly and will get the job done, but you are going to pay through the nose for it. Even if they quote you a reasonable price, they will keep adding things to your bill. In my case, we agreed on the job & the price of $224 to drill the bolt and replace the knob/lock assembly. Cash bc he doesn't take cards. I called my landlord to confirm this was ok (in front of the guy) -- she gives the go ahead. I'm very aware of the price since I only have $250. Boom he's done and says I owe $344. I ask why he changed the price. He says the first price didn't include drilling. I was like wtf why not? Why did you give me a price and watch me call my landlord to confirm it if that wasn't the final price??? I argue, he argues. He then calls my landlord directly, takes a credit card number from her, calls his office, charges her the difference, and ends by taking my cash. Dude said "sorry for the miscommunication" and "thank you". Well, man, if you're truly sorry, then maybe hear my point and make the final price clear to the next customer before doing the job. read more

We hired this company to install a latch lock on our door. In the process of the installation, they damaged our door, and put the lock up with scotch tape and cardboard paper. Turns out it was a poor installation... a few months later my 4 year old was able to open the door and the latch broke off. I called the business and gave them an opportunity to make it right. They would not stand behind their work and wanted to charge me even more than the first time to redo their faulty work. A lock & installation should last more than a few months. I was a loyal customer and would always go to their stand at Robertson/Cashio for making my key copies as I wanted to support a small business in the neighborhood, even if their prices were higher. If you need a locksmith, there is absolutely no reason why this should not be your first and only call. I was looking to upgrade my deadbolts, read the Yelp reviews, and decided to give them a shot. Best idea ever. Nir (answered the phone) took the time answer every preliminary question I had, and Yaron was at my door 30min later. He then consulted with me about which kind of bolt should go where, showed me number of options, gave a fair price, and got right to work. He was one lock short of the color we wanted, so he installed a different color one (important to have the locks that are harder to pick sooner rather than later), and came back the next day, at no charge, to swap it out. They did a great job when I needed a key cut and a remote made for a car I had just acquired. I bought a cheap remote/key on Amazon, but apparently it didn't work. They showed me the error, and I went ahead and bought a key from them and it worked perfectly! I didn't check with the Honda dealer about how much this would cost, but from what I've read, Honda would have charged me around double. Glad I found A+ Security Lock & Key! read more

I have already posted this on Google reviews but will post again here. The business owner was upset about my poor review and has contacted me and my boyfriend in an attempt to get me to remove/revise my honest review...I will not be taking down the review sorry. I took great care to leave an accurate review. As a side note, these people are very manipulative and will write off their manipulative behaviors as miscommunication - beware! I will reiterate - the technician's English was fine and the communication was clear. I am disappointed by the service I received especially after reading so many other favorable reviews of this place. Recently, my bag with my Prius key was stolen. I had my boyfriend call A+ Security Lock and Key to get a quote (reviews at other dealerships suggest women are charged higher quotes so I had him call to avoid potential issues). They informed him it would be $85 for a vehicle lockout to open the door to the car. When they sent their servicer over to open the car door, he told me that it would be $240 to open the car door. I asked him why this was nearly 3x the quote given to my boyfriend. He tried to explain to me that it would have been easier to open the car door if the key were inside the car??? After speaking to his supervisor, the service man again told me it would be $240 to OPEN THE CAR and another $300 for the chip key. After some back and forth haggling, the servicer agreed to lower the fee to *open the car* to $150 because of a "Google discount" (lol) - i.e. using Google and not Yelp - complete nonsense. I then spoke to his supervisor who informed me that my boyfriend had not told him that I needed a new key and that I just needed to get back into my car. I still asked why it would be so expensive to just open my car to which I did not get a clear answer. I again asked the service man why it would be easier to open the car door if the key were inside. Can someone explain this to me? After some haggling (I don't remember all the details) the supervisor informed me that he would put me in contact with a different "ignitioner" to assess the scenario and give me a quote. When I talked to the different ignitioner (Ben, he was perfectly nice and reasonable) I explained how they initially quoted my boyfriend $85 and then saw me and tried to charge me $240 to just open the door - no key!! He said he was very sorry about the situation and would give them a call and I could expect a new quote. The supervisor called back and said that he could get the door open a get me a new smart key for $285 total. I don't know if this is a good price but considering it was half of what they were initially trying to charge I accepted. After Ben arrived, there were no issues at all - he got the door open in 2 minutes (he did not seem bothered that there was no key inside). I had a new key in about 20 minutes.
