My go to place for locks! You are treated respectfully. They are professional, honest, and they make you laugh so any wait time there whilst working on your lock will go by fast! I had a complicated lock situation--a vintage cylinder lock that needed to be re-keyed. Nir worked dilligently with the complex and partially rusted mechanism replacing the pins and screws and cleaning it until it was resolved. I have used their mobile services in the past and this time it was their other location on Olympic that I used. They really know their stuff. You can come to these guys with confidence! ** As to pricing...over the phone I was quoted at $39 but this was before Nir ever saw my lock or even was able to ascertain how complex or problematic this lock was. I actually walked away paying only $38 and with 3 keys which we'd never discussed. To calculate the man hours that went into resolving my lock situation I know that I walked away with the better end of the deal! I add this pricing information as I read a Yelp review where one customer complains about a "bait and switch" scam scenario. I find that hard to believe from these guys. Also, how can you hold someone to an over the phone pricing quote for a lock before the technician is able to properly assess the potential complexity of the lock or the situation? I needed duplicate keys made on a Saturday afternoon. The place that I usually go to was closed. All the other places that I called were also either closed or only mobile locksmiths. I finally found A+. I used the location at 5968 Olympic Blvd., in the little mall across from Olympia Hospital. The locksmith, Dallas, was very fast, smart, and friendly. It took him about five minutes to make 4 keys. And the price was better than what I usually pay the guy I used to go to. I will use A+ on Olympic whenever I need keys! I told him I have a great place much closer to where I live. He told me it was a special kind of key and not every place had the blanks. I went to A+, they had the blanks, made the keys, and it took about 5 minutes. The keys worked perfectly, and when I told my supervisor the price he was very pleasantly surprised. I have used quite a few locksmiths in my life and Nir and his employees are by far the best, nicest, and most knowledgeable that I have ever dealt with. Nir owns two places, one on Robertson just south of Pico and one on Olympic right before Olympia Hospital. (I'm a surgeon, so I use hospitals for geography.) The offices are two small shacks in the parking lots. I was hesitant to use these kind of locksmiths, but I can recommend without any hesitation Nir's two locksmith places. They are able to do everything. My entire set of keys were stolen. Besides apartment and home keys, they replaced all my car keys and car clickers at an incredibly reasonable price. It was less than 1/3 the price of going to the car dealership. I didn't even know they could do that sort of thing and he replaced them so quickly. Plus I really liked Nir as a person. I went to the location on Olympic and was thrilled with the friendly and knowledgeable service. Nir programed a key and two key fobs for my 2008 MX-5 Miata, and they work. The guy at the counter kept me chatting so I barely noticed the time (which wasn't much). Nir gave me estimates quickly by email (at half the dealership rate) and honored them. This is my first complaint and I HAVE TO tell you STAY AWAY from these wolves in sheep's clothing. I wish I had the experience like the other reviewers allegedly had. It's really hard to believe they're real based on what I experienced with them today. I will sum this up the best I can, but as you can see there's so much to improve on based on my unfortunate experience. I hope you will consider this as a warning when evaluating who to do business with. ONLY CALL A LOCKSMITH IF ITS YOUR LAST RESORT Let's just talk about 1 lock here This business claimed: 1. $85 "service fee" 2. Locksmith ETA is 20-30 min 1. $85 is what I suggested they start calling a "diagnosis fee" and if the lock can be picked with 2 skinny flatheads or Bobby pins I guess. If he pulls out a little bitty drill, and wacks it with a bigger flat head screwdriver and hammer it's gonna cost $95+ God knows what their scale is like cuz they DON'T properly walk you through the process! 2. Locksmith came 1 hour later!! After 30 min I called to ask his ETA.. He said "GPS says 14 min". 30 min later, he arrives! I could've Ubered to my roommate and back within an hr, gotten a parking ticket and STILL would have saved a TON of money!! The locksmith put his foot in his mouth a number of times, and forced his "knowledge" on me saying things like "you should've done ____ to save you money" and "you should make your landlord pay, it's the law". He even told his "boss" "I had to use the drill cuz I was working on it for 20 min, and couldn't get it open"-LIE! More like 5 min, and then u decided to use your $95 level 2 tools then add that # on the invoice, then claimed I "consented" the total before he started working. Can u imagine how shocked I was to see $180 on the invoice when the operator told me $85 then also said I couldn't use the coupon on Yelp? They're only saving grace is that he discounted $30 when I cried. Also, they charged me $180 then "refunded the amount" then charged me $150. So, my bank received it as a total of $330 in charges today! It can take up to 48 hrs to reflect a refund. At the end of the day it's not about the $ amount as according to the other reviewers they probably have fairer prices and are avail 24 hrs, HOWEVER they're communication, false claims/ wrong wording is mis leading, deceiving and clumsy!!! They sound really nice on the phone, but unfortunately couldn't take responsibility for the mess they caused including breaking the lock that my landlord is refusing to pay for so my expenses are not over yet with this. Anyway, too many lies, headache, stress, disappointment, time wasted, money wasted. I wish I got the more generous guys talked about in others' experiences. I suggest taking your business else where. read more

Strong advice for the owner of this place. Have some posted hours that you can stick to, so that if people stop by they can actually get keys made. And if people are so lucky as to stop by, and you are actually open, please have trained the employees to copy keys in advance. The guy working there today could not identify a simple common house key blank and make a copy of it. If somebody working at your stand knows less about keys and locks than I do, your place is in real trouble. I guess I will just go to one of those machine that copy keys now, since the humans cannot even copy a simple Kwik house key. Thanks for wasting 30 minutes of my day for nothing. read more
